The front desk man Fernando is really the one responsible for making this a 4 star stay for us! He was so personable and pleasant, gave us an upgrade to the ocean view room and also helped us when we had to extend the stay by 3 more nights. The hotel is under new management and is undergoing renovation, the 6th floor is currently the only one with air conditioning. There was also only one working elevator. It's located very close to the beach and is still considered to be downtown Rosarito. They offer free breakfast, thankfully the servers were careful and made sure we didn't have any pork as we do not eat it per our religion so they made us breakfast separately. The room itself was very cute and you can tell they are really trying to please you and be attentive with housekeeping. Bed wasn't too bad, wish there was a fridge and more towels but house keeping did refresh several times even though they forget to leave hand towels. Overall it was a pleasant stay, can't wait till they finish renovating and put in the wellness center. read more

If you book thru Expedia and you don't pay until you arrive to the hotel they will cancel your room if you don't arrive before 5pm. We arrived at 10am and they told us we could not check in nor pay for the room until 3pm to 5pm. We told Oscar we were going to ensenada and won't be arriving until after 8pm. When we arrived Fernando told us they had no more rooms. Our rooms where given to other people. My recommendation is to pay for the room when booking or else your room will be given to someone else if you don't arrive by 3pm and 5pm. read more

I would not recommend staying at this hotel or booking through Expedia, Booking.com, etc. I stayed here over the weekend and was given a room without air conditioning. Apparently, if you book through third-party sites or get a discount, you end up with a room that doesn't include A/C. If you book directly with the hotel, then you can get air conditioning--but this is never mentioned anywhere on their website. The room was uncomfortably hot, and the only solution they offered me was a fan. Wow! Regarding all the bad reviews. Thank the good Lord for us, we didn't experience the filth, rodents or bed bugs. Our room was on the 2nd level near the elevators. But didn't hear anything. Of course this was few days after Christmas (wintertime), so bit dead. However, my major complaint would have to be, no heating. It's winter, walking distance from the ocean, had been raining all week and the AC was on too high at night. You know it's too cold when you even see the hotel clerk wearing a jacket shivering a little. We asked her if there was something they could do to turn it down or if there was a control setting in our room we didn't see, she said no sorry but we can give you extra blankets, so that helped. A portable heater would have been nicer. There were a few minor issues like static TV picture & there wasn't many English channels. Took awhile for the water to warm up- but it was backwards as in hot right, cold left. No mini fridge, microwave or Ice machine. We bought ice from liquor store down the street & threw it in sink for our drinks. Parking was one ground level only, not very big, so if you left, you could lose out on parking inside. Ridiculous for a large hotel structure. Elevators were very narrow. We'd wait for next one more than once. Only one plug outlet next to bed. All stupid petty complaints, but kinda important to some people. The good was it was clean, we had towels, the clerk told us if we need more towels, pillows, toilet paper etc, to just ask. So we were thankful we didn't experience the worst like filth, bed bugs or rodents. The free breakfast was Ok- better than typical continental ones with stale pastries & coffee. All & all it wasn't that bad. Any negatives, wasn't reflected on the staff, they did their best. The hotel management seemed more focused on the cosmetics & offering spacious dresser & closet space, but not on the obvious I mention earlier the necessities are sorta important. We're do I start No parking with in the building (the one in property has limited parking) we had to park across the street in an empty dirt lot. Once we cross the street and got to the hotel through the back of building there is no clear directions where the elevators are. They have two elevators and one of them was out of service so you can only imagine. We have bought beers at the store and wanted ice they don't have an ice machine in property. The floors had stains and were obviously dirty The shower was filthy we found black long hairs and the drain had gunk from who knows what and how long ago. I should have checked Yelp reviews before booking this hotel. The room did not have a thermostat, and the AC was on full blast. The bed only came with a light sheet, no actual blankets. There is also no phone inside the rooms so if you need anything, you'll have to go to the front desk. I called ahead and got pricing, but upon arrival, they tried to charge me $50 more than the price quoted 30 minutes before I arrived. They eventually honored the quoted price. If you need a blow dryer, you'll need to leave your license, so have a second form of I.D. If you're planning to drink or go to clubs. The blow dryer looked like something pulled out from the trash, but it worked. The beds were very uncomfortable, so we didn't sleep well and woke up with back pain. I'm in my 30s, so it's not from my age or health. All other hotels were sold out, so this place was a last resort. In the future, I'll camp on the beach if this place is the only option. read more

My boyfriend and I were here over the weekend for my birthday. After cruising down to Ensenada during the day and before going back up to TJ, we came across this place since we'd only be staying one night. The place is very quirky but some aspects of our room were gross. To name a few things: - The dead bolt lock was completely missing...the latch was still there though (LOL). - There was a tiny piece of super thin hair stuck in front of the bathroom sink on the counter and it didn't seem like the molding on the counter was dusted or cleaned at all. - There was also an electrical outlet missing the covering. Fortunately, we did not experience bed bugs and our stuff being stolen (like other reviewers have mentioned). I'd even go as far to say that our room was probably one of the better ones (we were on the 4th floor). Other quirks about this hotel: -It's a 10 story building, but the elevator only goes up to the sixth floor. - On the second floor, there is a thick, cylindrical "rail" but directly under, there is WIDE OPEN space where there is plenty of room for someone to jump off of or fall from (your choice but 10/10 would not recommend doing either of those things haha). The service we received was impeccable. From the first day at the front desk, Fernando was so friendly and welcoming. He was able to get us a room with an amazing view. It made the stay even better. The waiters in the kitchen were nice and accommodating for our breakfast choices considering we had a limited food selection due to our current diet. Dental work was a major factor in our food choices this trip since we were having a lot done. This is the first time I've stayed here and I was happy with it. It's currently going through remodeling with a new manager and it's getting better. There's still a long way to go but altogether this trip was great. Got here a little bit early understanding about room not being ready but they deny us also to park on their premises which you need to have a wristband and paper check in document in order to do so ! These people have stolen over $100 dollars from my girlfriend. We tried to cancel our booking because the hotel was an absolute turd and tried to force us to wait in a 2 hour line to check in. She still has not received her money back. Expedia is trying to get ahold of them to get her money back If you book this hotel beware, it is extremely shady. The corruption has clogged every toilet in the hotel and it is flooding into the lobby like in 'The Shining'. OK, Imagine letting a group of 1st graders run a hotel, they would run a more efficient operation. We received an email stating we have to check in from 3pm to 6pm or else we will lose our reservation and our money. So we arrive at 4pm and there is a 2 hour line to check in on our vacation. I have never seen such inept indifference to customer satisfaction in my life and I have traveled extensively. The hotel is still being remodeled. I didn't swim but the pool looked pretty Clean. They played loud music at pool!! Awesome!! When you enter the lobby, there is a security guard. I don't know if he was armed or not he was too cute I didn't even notice. Lol We booked a room for a day and we were aware that they didn't have heat or AC prior to booking. It was warm outside but we were pleased to find when you open the window there was a nice breeze that came thru the room from the beach. On the 6th floor we had a beautiful view of the city and beach. We had more of the modern remodeled room which pretty nice. The shower head in the bathroom ran slow but it's not a big issue. Breakfast was delicious!! There was eggs, chicken and steak fajitas. Beans and tortillas. I'm from northern California, so I tried not to really drink the water in Mexico. (I heard you can get sick because the water is contaminated) I tried to drink "bottled only" drinks. The only thing that was bottled or in a container was a carton of milk for the cereal. It was my only only option. Unfortunately it was warm. There is a bar at the breakfast area, I ordered a can of soda, that was not warm, but it wasn't refrigerated. I wish they had mini bottled water, maybe mini cartons or cold juice for the breakfast area. When you check in they give you a wristband for breakfast. Um.. I don't think that's a good system to have. We checked in early morning, Just the thought of having your free breakfast wristband worn all day and night during partying is kinda odd. Plus it could be a safety issue if you had a weird stalker looking at your wrists seeing the hotel your staying in. Luckily I'm ugly. I trusted my friends to book a place in Rosarito, never again. I thought we were staying in a nice hotel at first but when I arrived I literally thought this place was a prison from the outside. We checked in our room and our window was open we couldn't shut it all the way. The beds were stained which I'm sure was blood. The bathtub had a dark yellow-brown stain, literally everything was stained. I made a reservation for 2 people and put option pay at hotel. I went to get the address for the hotel and found it was cancelled. I reached out to reservations LIEZEL who said it was cancelled. I was waiting and waiting and they had to come up and open my room and still with no key. The room was so basic that motel 6 is way better than this. Walked in to the restroom and it was not flushed. I paid $60 for a double queen breakfast buffet included for 4 so my family of 5 maid out. Here's how I break it down. Five dollars of breakfast a pice $5 for each of us to sleep with no ac open mosquito window and $2 dollar shower each. So if you get a better deal great I wouldn't recommend you pay any more. I don't like bashing businesses so I'll leave it at you get what you pay for. Many issues with this place although the beginning of my bad experience was probably Expedia's fault and the hotel could have remedied it but chose NOT to due to greed. Will also describe the decrepit condition of the place so Yelp do not let them remove this review. I found the place on Expedia, entered my stay dates, number of people, age of children, CC info, and hit the book button (on my iphone). There was an "error" and it said to try again. The CC info was still there so I hit submit and DID NOT check the dates, which got reset but the error. I didn't discover the date problem until I was getting all my travel documents in order and saw a check in date in the PAST since I booked days before travel. I called Expedia and explained what just typed and they said they could do nothing for me but would call the hotel. They got back on the line and said the hotel would not reimburse me either so I lost $127 per night because I was too stupid to double check ever data entry field after the "error". Clearly this is an Expedia problem so be careful with them too. So being that there aren't many options in Rosarito, and friends were staying in this dump, I decided to re-book but this time on my computer to avoid "errors". Well EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED. Error occurred again and thinking I was smart this time I caught the fact that the error resets the check-in dates. I updated them and hit submit again. I thought all was good but IT WAS NOT. Upon check-in the front desk wanted to charge me an additional $118 per night because my two kids were over the age of 8. When I booked both times, the night I was robbed of and the one with the correct check-in date, the website never mentioned an additional fee for my kids, which I listed. MOST PEOPLE WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY SCREWED AND FORCED TO JUST PAY THE EXTRA $118 PER night. I pointed out I had already been screwed out of $127 for a night which I didn't stay there. She him-hawed and eventually agreed not to charge me the $118 but I would not be getting the free breakfast. Big deal as I wanted to eat street food but the point is they continued to be petty taking away something they saw as a "perk." The Dump of a Hotel The lobby is worn down and probably last retouched in the 1990s (a great era by the way). Probably would have been a good location for a Saved by the Bell episode back before all the colors faded from the floors, furniture, walls, etc. Check-in was straightforward. Elevators were old and slow. Glass wall was super dirty, probably last cleaned in the '90s as well. To my surprise exiting the elevator it was a nice modern looking floor. Got to the room and had a nice door, nice door knob, entered the room and looked pretty nice as well. However, the walls had lots of chipped and peeling cement/paint from installing the furniture. Appears as if they prepped the room by throwing furniture in there before the weekend but didn't have time to actually touch up or clean the place. The room does NOT have AC. It was only about 73 degrees outside so wasn't an issue but it felt warm, especially with 4 people. I can only imagine how unbearable it must be when it's actually hot. The floors seemed to have a film of dust. Have you ever walked on tile with sand or dust on it? Felt that little scratching sound that makes your skin crawl? That's how the floors were. the night stand was clean but when I set my bag down in the area where you hang clothes (doesn't have an actual closet) and picked it up it was covered in dust/dirt. There was no trash bin in the room so we just put trash in a bag we had with us. Despite their desire to charge $118 for 2 kids the cheap bastards only had 2 towels in the room. This is probably a Mexico thing but we were on the 6th floor and could open the 8 foot window (haven't seen that in the US) so if you want to jump out a window this is a good place to do it (please don't, talk to someone). The ceiling had the sheet rock cut out as if they were going to install a light but that hadn't happened yet so it was just a 6 inch hole. On our way down, in the elevator, the door opened on other floors. They looked just as terrible as the lobby except they had SUPER faded pink and green carpet (popular colors 25 years ago) so I can only imagine what the rooms must have looked like. Now I understood why I head others say they only paid about $60 per night. Probably had rooms on floors that weren't remodeled yet so pick your price point and request a room according to what you want. This place is NOT all inclusive and gives nothing away free so I'm not sure why they had a guard at the door and wouldn't let people in to the lobby bar (temporary bar during the day). Saw a few folks get turned away. They put a bracelet on your wrist so they know if you're a guest. The place was quiet, 2 minute walk to the beach (is not ocean front. We arrived at the hotel late at night and went straight to bad. The next morning we discovered that the Hotel had heavy black mold in the bathroom and room. My son is allergic to mold and that explain why he was sneezing and had watery eyes all night and could not breathe well. Also the base of the toilet was very dirty all had old pee and dirty and the tub had few hair in it so we decided not to shower before leaving in the morning. I went down to the reception and told the front desk managerJean Petit. He said he could not do anything because we did not tell him the night before but suggested to email to manager Lic Enrique Borja. I emailed twice and sent pictures but he never replied. OMG!!!! Terrible Hotel The only nice thing there was the cafeteria area and that's because its new and pool area is under construction. The front desk clerk Guy didn't get his name but he has glasses beard and that's all remember lol but he is extremely rude. I was waiting in line and he was on the phone with a customer trying to get directions, by the sound of it and he was making faces, rolling his eyes slamming his hands on the desk. The rooms are dirty and stained no phone. The pillows were stained. My sisters bathroom door had no knob and my other sister's room her toilet had no lid. Nasty nasty nasty read more

Cant complain about the staff always wonderful the morning brunch was ok the waitress where 5 stars on costumer service the pool close really early and some of the installations are not how they supposed to be other from that is a big hotel with free breakfast and not that expensive i would probably come back read more

!!!!!STAY AWAY!!! This place is 100 times worse than Motel 6 ! The check in process took about an hour and a half. The lobby smelled horrible and there was no AC. Once we got to our rooms it smelled even worse, the lights were yellow and very dim , The carpet was dirty, the bedsheets and the curtains had stains and rips in them, the bed frames were disgusting, the shower handles were dirty, the air vents that had no AC coming out of them were rusty, this whole place is a huge mess and disgusting to stay away! read more
