I drove three hours with my family to eat here in Puerto Nuevo, and it was a huge disappointment. The food was honestly disgusting and had no flavor at all. The drinks were just as bad--completely unenjoyable. To make matters worse, after eating here, my mom started having stomach pain and I've had nonstop diarrhea. This experience ruined what was supposed to be a nice family outing. I would not recommend this place to anyone. ! read more

Last minute spur of the moment trip-after extensive research, decided on staying at Las Rocas Resort! Almost reserved through bookings.com but decided to call the resort directly. Perla took my call and provided me with amazing customer service. She was very kind and informative and took the time to assist me. I told her exactly what I was looking for and she was able to guide me to their website, which shows the different types of rooms and includes pictures and virtual tours of the rooms. Their Junior Suite is what we picked. It had everything that we wanted and it just so happened to be the one with the biggest square footage (out of the various suites they offer) Came with a King Bed. Living room with a fireplace and directly behind...the beach views!! The BALCONY is nice and big with a patio that was perfect for enjoying a gorgeous sunset over the ocean. Large bathroom with a Bathtub and shower!! And a kitchenette and coffee maker. No AC but a very strong fan in the bedroom area and a ceiling fan in the living room. The patio door is huge and has blackout curtains, but we chose to sleep with the patio door open and it was such a vibe with the sounds of the waves crashing! Beautiful heated infinity pools and jacuzzis! Best part is the drive to Puerto Nuevo for delicious sea food is super close by! Took us like 10 mins! Drove there for dinner and to catch the World Series game (GO DODGERS) Back at the resort we enjoyed some house margaritas that were included with our stay. The breakfast at their restaurant was also such a delight. I would absolutely recommend and return again! Good for relaxing romantic vibes. Their spa offers great value for their services-they have massages and facials. Didn't see any kids during our stay and it was cool having access to their bars and fireplace seating downstairs. Music and good vibes with pool tables and karaoke. The entire staff was very welcoming and kind. Checked us in quickly and escorted us to our room. Zero complaints. read more

Booked a one night stay at this resort. Easy booking through Booking.com easy to find about 20 miles from TJ. Love that they were able to check me in before time. When it came to checking into my room, I was told I only had one bed when I booked two I even had confirmation and showed front desk personnel, and they did nothing to accommodate. I had to pay the upgraded charge out-of-pocket. On the plus side love that their pools are heated, great free breakfast, I think all rooms have that great ocean view, overall great customer service. Rooms have no heater or AC but you do get a fan in the closet. Make sure to plug your TV in so that it works. read more

We arrived on Tuesday afternoon and were welcomed by the staff warmly. We enjoyed our meals at both the cafe and the upstairs restaurant. The dinners were delicious and presented so beautifully. We lived the tranquility of the resort. We enjoyed a few spa treatments and loved that they didn't try to upsale you. We will definitely go back. Their staff is incredibly professional, friendly, and attentive. The grounds beautifully landscaped and well maintained. We got tickets for complimentary breakfast and it was delicious and generous portions. The coffee kept coming without having to hunt around for servers. Dinner was grilled octopus with roasted potatoes and another veggie also good. Local wine was semi dry and a perfect accompaniment. The next day we ordered the non-complimentary breakfast: chilaquiles with a side of scrambled eggs and beans topped by Mexican cheese and a whole sliced avocado. Also really good! Luis tended bar Friday night and had my sister and I in stitches with his jokes and hearty laugh--always appropriate and respectful yet warm and friendly. This is unacceptable and truly dangerous. Other than that we actually loved this place. HOT jacuzzi, 2pools, restaurant, and beautiful grounds. Centrally located between Rosarito and Puerto Nuevo (lobster village). And we will come back because it's a great price. Just be aware that there is NO A/C or heat (to my knowledge). I remember entering the double doors of Las Rocas entrance area to lobby ... it was getting chilly and some winds blowing around. Lots of parking to choose from but I'm pretty sure during peak seasons, this place gets packed. My partner and I were looking for an over-nighter during the weekday as we wanted to eat dinner at our favorite seafood restaurant that's on the outskirts of Rosario - Splash. We also wanted to get a few drinks afterwards and hangout at the resort. Las Rocas fit the bill, literally. Our resort bill was half what they normally charge for rooms. We were also given a nice upgrade. Unfortunately, our stay was just for the night. I didn't like that there was no elevator to get to our room on the third floor but it was ok as we didn't have much to lug around. As I've previously mentioned, it was just an over night stay at Las Rocas. However, should we have stayed longer, I would have preferred the bottom floor. The bartender that evening was friendly, engaging and very attentive. Mind you, we were the only ones around and another gentleman. I am pretty sure though, we would have received the same treatment had there been a full house at the bar. Darn, I can't remember his name (Luis?), but I do recall him telling us he's been around for 27 years. Such a dedicated bartender and one can see, he loves his job even 27 years later. Staff at front desk were hospitable and accommodating. The following morning, before our departure, back to San Diego, we had requested to view other rooms. Looking into future stay with our family and friends during summer months. Instantly, I liked the other rooms. They had kitchenettes, an extra room that led to back patio and poolside area, sleeper sofa, and decor had a modernness feel to it compared to that of our room. We had complimentary breakfast. I must say, for being "complimentary" I expected basic, plain and nothing fancy. Surprisingly, it was more than I expected, both in taste and its presentation. The cook won our hearts. We had a good breakfast along with a very attentive and friendly waitress. Also forgot her name. Side note. There was some mini construction like thing going on the front steps section of the resort, that led to the rooms stairway. It was taped off. Nothing to cause alarm or seem as safety issue but hoping it would get fixed when peak season comes around. It's also an eyesore. This is a nice getaway spot if you live in Southern California. It's about an hour or 2 from the border. It's a quaint place with large rooms that overlook the ocean. They have morning yoga classes and free breakfast coupons. A couple pools and jacuzzis, beer on tap and a couple bars. There's a pool table and karaoke. It's small but if you are looking for a low key spot, this is it. Ensenada is an hour drive south for a nice day trip, and several restaurants about 15 min drive north. Free parking on-site. I took a long weekend trip to Tijuana, and a friend recommended this place. I wasn't sure what to expect from Tijuana, but it was quite different from any of my previous Mexico stays. The staff wasn't the friendliest, and while the place has so much potential, it feels like they've given up on it. That said, the standout spots were La Palapa and the spa, which was actually really nice! The lobster dinner was underwhelming, but the octopus was amazing. We went here for Christmas. The drive from SD was easy. Quaint and amazing service. We got the breakfast with our reservation. I went to the spa on Christmas eve and got a 90 min massage. It was cold in the room but you can buy a fire log from the front desk. I will say that this resort is a bit older but I think that it adds to the character. I would stay here again. My boyfriend and I spent one night here in a Gaviotas suite for our anniversary and had an amazing time. Our package included two 30 minute massages which were lovely, a credit toward dinner which was delicious (lots of fresh seafood choices), a credit toward breakfast which was also very fresh and tasty, and a free bottle of wine with dinner. Overall the best, most authentic resort hotel to stay while in Rosarito Beach. Not downtown with all of the congestion but only a 7 min drive if you wish to go into town. The 3 stars were given more so because of the food, definitely not the hotel. Hotel is more like a 2 star. It's old with bandages all over it. Needs extreme renovation The beds are rock hard and the floors & fans are dirty. The fireplaces don't work so make sure when you buy that $7 log from the front desk, you open the door to let all the smoke that will fill your room out. The tv's don't work either and the staff tell you they're going to do something about it but never do. 2 days later and I'm still waiting for a menu to be delivered lol. The views are beautiful just don't stay in certain rooms or else your views of the beautiful ocean will be blocked by trees and the bar cabana. Oh and you can't miss this place when driving, just across the street from the huge creepy Caucasian Jesus statue. Oh the food!!! Depends on who's making the chips if you'll get a good batch & the salsa is good. Everything we ate there was delicious so if anything, we'd definitely come back for the food. First off I'd like to say that I've stayed at this place about three months ago and just forgot to post a review. My first experience there was awesome. From the awesome views from our junior suite to the morning breakfast overlooking the water. Food was amazing to taste. The negative comments of this place due to outdated should check there hotel payment. This place charges a fair hotel price considering being on the water with a beautiful view. The place is very well cleaned and taken care of. IF PEOPLE WANT A UPDATED FANCY BEACHFRONT CLIF HOTEL THEN BE READY TO PAY $$$$ much more than what this hotel charges. Las Rocas is well worth it! The bar with karaoke DJ was so much fun with a good group of people to dance with. Pool table and outside fire pit was another plus. Weekend stay encouraged us to make another reservation for the weekend after Mother's Day! Made a reservation for multiple rooms for ten people and took advantage of there wine tasting tour! After some of our guest canceling last minute the hotel was extra nice to wave cancellation charges and accommodate us for trip that worked for our group size. Thankful for the help from the staff!! BED BUGS!! We cane here and got attacked by bed bugs!!! My daughters got eaten up by bed bugs here. We went August 14th 2023 for birthday celebration ended up with bed bug bites. I emailed the hotel and advised them; we took my daughter to the doctor and had to get creams, missed work etc. they said they would refund me my room and Guess what? They never did and stopped answering my calls and e-mails. Super unprofessional!! Never again. So much for the " I'm so sorry, we are so embarrassed ". They don't care about you. read more

I had a great time, food was OK the drinks were delicious the atmosphere and the environment were awesome the only issues we had was that food was not kid friendly, room did not have AC, there was no Wi-Fi. I said I had a great experience I highly recommend this hotel beautiful views just not too family friendly. We stayed in one of the suites, it was pretty roomy, the room was cleaned but there was no hot water. I called the front desk to report the lack of water but seamed it was not their priority. I felt pretty secure in the hotel. The parking area was gated and 24/7 staffed. There's a small town like 5 miles south, it was pretty touristy so go ahead and hit it up. I got a call a week before my trip from the resort stating that they infinity pool was closed. I'm glad they had the courtesy to let me know. I'm Sure that's why people come here. I respected that though. The food Prices have gone up. Dinner here was $50. Lunch at lobster village was $90 total. In the end, the customer is paying for the renovations and they're NOT happening fast enough. Plates range from $13-$80. That's new to me. I have visited a few years now and it appears even after renovations that the standard of service and cleanliness are going wayside. There was no fan in the suit and never sent one down or got a call back after requesting one. The cushions to the lounge chairs on the patio were in the closet, dirty with bird poop and animal hairs, called to have them cleaned and it was never done. Couch was torn. The place is falling apart and not from age but the upkeep is awful. The restaurant and bar area were a delight and the service exceptional. The kids enjoyed the pool which was almost empty for summer. I would give them a try again for a night maybe but not extended stays. I will be researching other options. read more

Beautiful resort. While older, and in need of a lot of repairs, this resort has beauty, personality and a peaceful feel. The staff members (particularly the bartenders) were friendly, attentive and fun. Staff is constantly cleaning the grounds. Our 2 bed suite was beautiful and exactly as pictured on their website. We came here for a group yoga getaway but I will definitely be coming back with my husband for a romantic getaway. Live music/guitar at night in the palapa floats across the grounds and leaving our slider open, the sounds of the waves crashing over the rocks lulled us to sleep. The infinity edge pool has an amazing ocean view. The spa massage was high quality, relaxing and extremely affordable-$65 for an hour! Cocktails at the bar were $5-6.50 each, which is great compared to the prices we pay in California. Room prices are reasonable and across the street at the top of the hill Jesus is watching you in approval! :-) read more

We have been going to Las Rocas for many years. We love the staff and how welcoming everyone is! We celebrate all special occasions here - including just this past weekend (photos included). We have stayed in various rooms and all have been comfortable, clean and safe. The views of the ocean from every balcony are dreamy. The service is fantastic-- from the front desk to pool side drinks to dinner to the spa to the cleaners to maintenance personnel. Their Sunday brunch is wonderful. We have brought many friends and family down and everyone has loved it. The food at the restaurant is very tasty. Get the package deal - fast pass over the border is worth it. They even charge you for the coffee you believe that it's cheap coffee from the machine They give you. And especially the front desk is the worst very rude and not helpful. The rooms are so run down and very old they don't do no upgrades for years and the whole hotel you can even see when you are walking that the walls have holes and broken. Loved this place. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. Our room was awesome. No heat but it was perfect during the days and we turned on the portable heater in the room at night, and it wasn't really necessary. The views were beyond belief. Unobstructed ocean views that would cost $600+/night anywhere else in California, and you would still get less for your money. We could even see dolphins jumping out of the water from our room!! The resort was beautiful, far above my expectations. The pictures don't do it any sort of justice. The unheated infinity pool is full of endless seagulls all day long, so you don't want to swim in that. There is a heated pool on another part of the property that the seagulls don't go into, so that's the one to hit, and it has a very nice view too. The welcome margarita that came free with our package tasted free, but the drinks you pay for are pretty good. There is a really nice large hut like bar that has incredible views and is just a great place to relax. The downstairs restaurant is just ok. The upstairs restaurant (Ursula) has some of the best food we had on our 4 day trip, and we went to pretty high end establishments (all our meals were $100+ for 2 people when we ate elsewhere). Eat their octopus, it's the best we've ever had, even better than in Greece! We used the spa liberally (massages, facial, manicure, etc) and it was really good, though the prices were commensurate with US prices. Only downside was the massage rooms aren't heated, there was no background music, and you can hear all the traffic from the road, which takes away from the experience. The front desk was really nice and friendly. We got the "Love on the Rocks" package, which came with lots of extras, but honestly I'm not sure if it was a good deal. I did the math and I think all they did was add up a bunch of a la carte items and put them together and charge whatever it came out to, with no package discount. I think it's better to just buy hotel nights and then pay for whatever else you want a la carte on your own. Regardless, we can't wait to go back to this place again and again. It's a gem. read more

The resturant was a big miss the food was bad menu made for gringos. I argued either the front desk to charge everything in pesos my bank automatically does the exchange. we stayed at Las Rocas this past weekend 4/26/2025 and I will never stay there again. we rented the 2 bedroom suite and it was so rundown. Paint was peeling on the original windows. The Plantation shutters they added at some point in time are now missing panels. Curtains that were added would nor close correctly. The is no heating or A/C which we would have been fine with if it stated it on their website, also not stated on their website the fact that there are no elevators to the 4 level either. We froze our butts off in the suite because all they provided is one little space heater per bedroom. There was bird crap all over the balcony. the living room in the main area had lighting that equated to 4-night light trying to light up a living room. Security in the parking lot was questionable because they just let you drive right in without checking if you even stay there. The doors to the main bedroom were gone and you could tell there were doors there before because the framework was still there. I tried to change rooms and they wanted to charge us extra $52 dlls a night. It is not worth it. If I had know about the bad pool pump I would've never stayed here.
