I stayed at Rosarito Beach Hotel this past Saturday in the Pacifico Building, booking the Junior Penthouse Pacifico Tower for my family of five. While the ocean view was beautiful, that's honestly where the positives end. The room was very pricey (almost $400 for one night). The couch was extremely uncomfortable hard, worn out, and you could literally feel the metal underneath. The main reason I booked this hotel was to relax and get some work done, so before booking I specifically asked the front desk if the room had WiFi access. I was told yes, so I booked. After checking in, we went out to dinner. When we returned and put the kids to bed, I tried to work there was NO WiFi. I went downstairs to the front desk (in another building), and they handed me a paper with nearby WiFi networks. None of them worked. I called the front desk again and was told they would check with whoever was in charge and call me back. They never did. The next morning, I called again and was finally told that there is no router and no internet in that room. At that point, I felt completely misled like they told me whatever they needed to just to get me to book the room. Their solution? * Work in the main lobby in another building (not possible I have 3 kids and can't leave them alone), or * Use another room only for WiFi, but I wasn't allowed to sit on the beds, use the restroom, or really do anything except sit there. I chose the second option, but it was a huge inconvenience. The room they gave me was 16 rooms away, on the other side. I had to take all my kids with me. At one point, my youngest needed to use the restroom, so we walked all the way back to our room only to find that my key no longer worked. We had to walk all the way back to the lobby again to reset the key just to get into our room. Overall, this was a stressful, frustrating experience. The lack of honesty, poor communication, and total inconvenience showed a real lack of care for guests especially families. I would not stay here again. Reservé este hotel porque quería relajarme y trabajar, así que antes de reservar pregunté específicamente en recepción si la habitación tenía WiFi. Me dijeron que sí, y por eso hice la reservación. Después de hacer check-in salimos a cenar. Al regresar, acostamos a los niños y cuando intenté trabajar, no había WiFi. Bajé a recepción (en otro edificio) y me dieron una hoja con redes cercanas para conectarme, pero ninguna funcionó. Volví a llamar a recepción y me dijeron que revisarían el problema y me devolverían la llamada. Nunca lo hicieron. A la mañana siguiente llamé otra vez y fue cuando me dijeron que esa habitación no tiene router ni acceso a internet. En ese momento me sentí engañada, como si solo me hubieran dicho que sí para que rentara la habitación. Las soluciones que me dieron fueron: * Trabajar en el lobby principal en otro edificio (imposible, tengo 3 hijos y no puedo dejarlos solos), o * Usar otra habitación solo para el WiFi, pero sin poder usar el baño, sentarme en las camas ni prácticamente nada. Elegí la segunda opción, pero fue una gran molestia. La habitación estaba a 16 habitaciones de distancia, al otro lado. Tuve que llevar a todos mis hijos conmigo. En un momento mi hijo menor necesitó ir al baño, caminamos de regreso a nuestra habitación y la llave ya no abría la puerta. Tuvimos que regresar otra vez al lobby para que reiniciaran la tarjeta y poder entrar. En general fue una experiencia muy estresante y frustrante. La falta de honestidad, la mala comunicación y la poca consideración hacia los huéspedes especialmente familias fue evidente. No volvería a hospedarme aquí.

So we did not stay here but visited this 100 year old historical gem on a recent excursion to Rosarito. I came down here a LOT in the 80/90's and had forgotten how much history is engrained in this beachside hotel... including its part around the filming of the Titanic. Even if you are just passing through it's worth a stop!

Small towel we were expected to use for showering.

Terrible customer service and they fail to provide you with the most basic needs a hotel can offer. The nighttime front desk woman, Itzy is extremely unprofessional and argues with customers. We checked in and within one hour of our stay, checked out. After traveling for 5+ hours we wanted to shower and rest and found only one small towel hanging in our restroom. There were no other towels and when we called to ask for more, we were met with an attitude and that they didn't know when they could bring some up to us. So we waited 15-20 minutes and nothing. My husband decided to walk down stairs to try and get towels for us to shower and the girl refused to give him towels. Finally, after ignoring him and just as he was about to walk away, she handed him the oldest, dirty looking POOL towels. We then decided to check out and as we proceeded to do so, the same front desk woman started to argue with me and my husband. The level of unprofessionalism Itzy displayed was astonishing. That was the first and last time we will ever stay at the Hotel Rosarito.

Stayed a weekend and it was awesome. So close to the beach and the view was beautiful, once the fog cleared. Service was great and food was delicious. Everything was very fairly priced and fresh! They validate your parking so you don't have to pay. They have everything from a game area a laundry area and a gym. The pool is also beautiful. I have nothing but nice things to say. Everyone was so helpful, especially the cleaning staff. The rooms were beautiful and had everything you needed for your stay.

View from our room. We had a couple things that needed attention. We did let the concierge know and they were addressed. We did not use the pool because it wasn't warm enough. Big property that is close to main strip. We did have dinner at their restaurant Chabertin, I believe that was the name. It was a prefix menu for Valentine's Day. It was good and so was the service. We had coffee on the pier at Muelle. Great views to have morning coffee. This is a kid friendly hotel, there is a playground for the kids. We will be going back

I used to love this hotel unfortunately I will have to find somewhere else to go. Last three times we have had something happen. Today was the last draw. Got here cans full of trash, elevator was working yesterday but not today and when I arrived at 10 pm to my room my key was deactivated. This hotel is falling apart now. Sad cause I have so many memories here. Also let me add that when I made my reservation I told them that I had a torn ligament so I needed to make sure I was in a one floor room with two rooms in it no stairs and that was also not done. Left a message to have Manager contact me since Saturday night. It is now Monday and I have not heard from Management.

Very Safe & Affordable . I was greeted with much Hospitality and Respect ; Not only was the Pacific Tower View mothdropping but the room was very clean and updated ‍‍‍‍‍ I definetly will be coming back for another visit !!!!!

Wow! What a dump! I don't even know where to begin. We reserved for 4th of July weekend because we were flying in from Mexico City and I wanted to avoid the fireworks in L.A. Stupid idea on my part because they were worse in Rosarito. Live and learn! The parking lot was packed because it's open to anyone, not just hotel guests. We had to drive around for over 30 minutes before we found parking on the 3rd floor of the parking structure. Of course, the elevator did not work, and it didn't look like it had in a long time. When we arrived at reception, it smelled old. And I mean not in an old wood and leather kind of way, but rather, like stale beer and booze. The room we were given, in the building named Coronado, was old and beat up. The decor was spartan and uninviting, and I'm being generous! The only thing in the room that didn't date from the 80 was the TV. Overall, the feel of the room is similar to a rundown motel in a sketchy part of L.A. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice getaway for their family. The overall experience did not justify the cost, and to call this dump a spa is a stretch! I paid $30 for a two crappy burgers and frozen fries. I will never stay here again.

This hotel is not what you specting, 1- is divided into the 2 .. the big building you see in the pics is the condo or rental apartments . If you reserve they hotel is the lower old building.. 2- the room is big, it looks like an old grandma room read more

Stayed at this hotel recently and experienced multiple maintenance and cleanliness issues across both rooms. In the first room, the air conditioning was not working properly and the room was uncomfortably warm. The dresser drawers would not stay closed. The room door was also in poor condition when opening and closing it, the wood around the frame was visibly splitting and separating, and the door did not appear secure. I requested a room change due to these concerns. The second room also had issues. The mattresses were heavily worn and sunken, making sleep uncomfortable. There was an unpleasant odor in the room, and no extra pillows or blankets were available. The pool area appeared poorly maintained. The smaller pool near the jacuzzi had murky water and visible surface buildup. The larger pool appeared cleaner but was very cold and not in use by many guests. Overall, the property condition felt more like a low-end motel than what would be expected from a hotel with this reputation. I would not recommend staying here. read more

We had a great stay here. Room with a view. So beautiful. We stayed in room 218 Coronado tower. View to die for. I was obsessed. Room could be updated but did the job. Staff friendly and fast. View amazing! Food at the restaurant was great. Shower pressure was 10/10... better than my pressure at home. Grounds are well kept. Easy access to beach & pools. We will definitely be back. Plenty of parking. read more

Avoid this hotel at all costs. They don't provide you with the basic necessities like towels or room service. The staff are all super rude especially Itsy at the front desk. read more

First, it's been a desire to stay at this historic hotel. Visiting Rosarito for 45+ years. Great location. Beach front access and views. Close to restaurants, nightlife and activities. Negative Outdated rooms Elevator broken-got stuck and no "emergency" call button; font desk non apologetic when informed of issue Dinning "service" none provided. Sat for 15 minutes to have someone take order-left to dine at another restaurant off site Cockroaches in room read more

Had a reservation for November 21st We canceled due to weather conditions on November 17th well within the cancellation policy it is now 1/6/26 and they still have not issued my refund $299 dollars every time I call they always give me the run around saying that it should be this week and nothing filled a claim with my bank the hotel needs to do better this is ridiculous I will never stay there again!!! read more

Best most relaxing hotel in Rosarito.. Must stop by the Azteca bar and have a drink where you always feel the live energy. Book a relaxing facial at the spa and really indulge yourself. Been coming here so many years and love it. Rooms are always clean never had a problem. Highly recommend staying here especially in the Pacifico Tower read more

Horrible experience!! Room service STOLE $157 from a wallet I had inside a luggage. Hotel then claimed no room service was done to our room. I knew I would not get my money back but for them to throw it under the rug and lie about the room service to protect themselves is dismissing the fact that they have a thief employed. The room was really outdated. The beds really uncomfortable. The restroom smelled like drainage. No iron, mini fridge, coffee maker or microwave inside room. A few employees were nice but some had a really bad attitude. read more

We made a reservation for the fourth of July weekend, traveling from Sacramento to Baja we arrived at 9pm. Because we booked this weekend reservation via a third party aka Booking.Com we were informed that the room was released and reserved by someone else. Very disappointed with the experience as of now. Thankful that they were able to get us ADU unit but we have no disabilities but thankful. Moving forward book directly with hotel read more

Terrible experience for new year eve The room was a disaster; there was blood and semen on the sheets, and there was hair everywhere. I complained to the reception, but unfortunately they did nothing to help us. I paid $176 for the dirty hotel room look like from 16 century the don't even spend dollar to remodel anything the towel the suppose to be white color the change to yellow and the so-called all-inclusive dinner cost me $350 for the two of us, and they charged $150 for a bottle of wine. You can imagine the disappointment; they're simply thieves, there's no other way to describe them, they're thieves. And the next morning, we woke up, and there wasn't even any electricity during breakfast. There is water leaking everywhere in the hotel, in the corridors, in the rooms, in the toilets, and even in the restaurant. read more

Nice and clean place to stay. Very easy to book and get too. This was my first time in this particular hotel and my family and I loved it. We will definitely will be coming back to Rosarito Beach Hotel. Will recommended to anyone trying to have a nice get away vacation. read more

Haunted beware!!! We had a room on 6th floor room 10615, and it was 100% haunted. We are a family 4 adults, who experienced the same haunting at the same time. This felt like a child spirit seeking attention. We heard marbles all night run across the floor, then it made contact by appearing itself to my mother and I. Needless to say, we asked for a second room immediately. We moved out of there! As for the room itself, we had no hand towels, only 3 bath towels and staff were rude. Beds were hard as rocks! Towels and sheets looked dirty. I will never stay or recommend this hotel to anyone. It was an expensive room for a horrible experience, one I will never forget. read more

BEWARE- stay at your own risk We stayed here after many many years and the hotel rooms reflect just how old, outdated and overpriced this hotel is. We asked for a king sized bed, we were told it wasn't an issue but when we finally got to our room we had double beds. Bed #1 so old, when you sat on it it literally sunk to the box springs. Bed#2 well, this felt like you were sleeping on a box spring!! Each and every coil. Our shower was so bad when we turned on the water it poured into the room even with the shower curtains closed. This hotel looks NOTHING like it used to. We've come to Rosarito for over 25 years and this Hotel was always viewed as the best place to stay. Things have changed!!!! Did I mention there's no WiFi? Free breakfast has a long wait, they do not have a big enough restaurant to serve on a dead weekend, can't imagine if it was full. Most of the rooms are not air conditioned which would be fine if the clubs next door are not so loud. It is like being in the middle of a over loud club trying to sleep. This place seem to think it is always in spring break. I can't count how many times is heard the word pussy from the music they play at the pool, when there are only families with kids. Which of course you can hear blasting in your room. read more

I have so much to say but I do not want to be a "negative Nancy". I'm just going to be honest and let you know what my opinion was about this venue and how my stay went Pros: Friendly staff Easy check in Covid measures are taken Good security measures/felt safe Awesome decor Great view of the beach Great location/close to many other venues Offers ATV/tours/horseback riding ect Cons Brown water came out of the faucet (WTF) Room furniture is wore down needs to be replaced Bathroom light out/not working Hair on our pillow cases/sheets One room key not working (super annoying) Room service took over 40 minutes No wash cloths or hand towels/we were told you need to ask for them/so we did and they only gave us ONE No iron in the room Have to go to the 5th floor to iron your clothes Water did not drain in the shower (that was gross) No hangars in the second closet Shower tile seemed dirty with soap scum/grout Elevators are slow and it took us 10min to get to the main floor Would I stay here again PROBABLY NOT. The cons outweighed the pros. It is a beautiful hotel great location. HOWEVER all the flaws add up! Came to this hotel while spending the night in Mexico for Baja Beach Fest. This hotel is walking distance from the hotel so its convenient but it definitely is no five star resort. I have listed the Pros and Cons below: Pros: -Close to the beach and close to Baja Beach Fest. We were able to leave the festival and go to our room to freshen up before the headlining acts came on. It was a 5min walk so we didnt have to take the shuttle. -The ladies at the check-in desk were wonderful. We had two rooms but we booked separately. She was still able to plus us in the same tower, near each other so we felt safer. -There's plenty of water in the room, plenty of great restaurants on the property and the view from my room was great. I am one that tends to get sick when traveling. However, I didnt have any issues. Cons: -The rooms are very outdated. I only stayed one night and thank-goodness because I wouldnt have felt comfortable showering in that tub. I was so tired from the festival that I didnt even turn the lights on before laying down in the bed because i was afraid that I'd see dirty sheets and be turned off. I slept with all my clothes on from the festival. Overall, I'd come back here for the festival next year but I wouldnt stay more than one night. They really need to update the rooms and make this a 5-star resort because its in a great location and has lots of potential. read more

Historical beach resort in the heart of Rosarito. We went off season which made the rates excellent. Rooms are nice and clean. Service is excellent. Staff is super friendly. This hotel was pretty decent. It's a stone throws away from the beach. Nothing fancy, basic, but there's a cool restaurant attached to it. Staff is really friendly. When we departed, I forgot my suit and my daughter's small dressed in the closet. I realized it once I was in the line to cross back into the US. I was sure they would be lost. And I was sure I would have to write a scathing review. My wife wrote an email to them and they were gracious enough to drop off the clothing to my sister in law who was there one more day and a few doors away from ours. And I received the clothing two days later. I'm SUPER impressed with their customer service. The only negative things is, there was a female security guard at the playground who made a big deal about my kids playing the with sand. I thought that was so unnecessary. And one other thing is some of my family members were exiting the hotel to go to the venue for a wedding and the security guard at the gate made them pay eight dollar exit fee even though they were staying two more days. That caused them to be late to the start of the wedding, which they were part of the wedding team. It made no sense because we didn't get charged that. But overall, this place was good and I would recommend them to others. They just need to address the security personnel. read more

Beautiful hotel for a reasonable price right on the beach! Easy access to the pier, pool included, and in the middle of tourist area Rosarito. It is super close to anything you need and within walking distance of everything. Only thing is furniture and such does look dated. It could use a remodel. Update: I suppose the dated furniture could also be keeping costs low, so if you're looking for a reasonable hotel right on the beach this is it! read more

I decided to take a mini vacation I picked this place not sure how it would be, well I had such a great time, I reserved a suite overlooking the Ocean with full kitchen, it was amazing, very nice and cleaned fully equipped. I used the Jacuzzi both times one of the jets did not work but was still relaxing, the restaurant food was good and Bar area was updated, this place is within walking distance to pretty much everything, and its in the safe part of town, I would highly recommend this place. read more

Well.... I gave 4 stars for 2 reasons the Coronado tower need to be upgraded in style, and the hotel should have UBER to the border. Other then that it was an amazing stay. Customer service was good, places to eat were so good. Bars with in walking distance. Get your hair branded on the beach!!! The pools were nice one pool has a bar, they all should have a bar. The pool area on the Coronado Towers side needs to have a bar!!! And the Jacuzzis would be better if guest didn't use them as a kiddy pool! Kids jumping around in them was ridiculous. KIDS EATING CHIPS IN THE JACUZZI COME ON, THEN JUMPING WHILE ADULTS ARE TRYING TO RELAX. In the end my overall experience was Amazing if I'm just talking about the resort. The Azteca restaurant located at the Rosarito Beach Hotel & SPA the food and service was excellent. It was raining day, we stopped by to eat lunch. We ordered Pechuga de Pollo a la Parrilla and Fettuccine con Camarones. The chicken was perfectly grilled and juicy, the vegetables were crunchy not overcooked. The fettuccine with shrimp pasta was cooked al dente. Plenty of shrimp not too oily the fettuccine sauce. Comes with garlic bread. My dad turned 80 back in 2006. The whole family came to Rosarito for this hotel, Puerto Nuevo for lobsters, and golf in Baja Mar. Soon thereafter, there was so much bad press about gangs, drug cartels and violence, that we were scared of coming back. None of my friends or family have come to Baja since then either. Now, 13 years later, we decided to give the place another try...... this time, with my wife, and college aged kids. For a last minute vacation, it worked out just great. We found an amazing TravelZoo deal. Sunday check in, 3 nights, including breakfast each day, two 60-min massages, mimosas, margaritas, an air conditioned suite in the new tower, and a fast pass to get back over the border quickly. All for $489. We bought two (one room for the kids) and crossed our fingers it would work out. The good, the bad and the ugly..... this place has changed very little over the years. It's kind of like Laughlin, NV compared to the modern Vegas. Set your expectations low and be pleasantly surprised. If you think this place will be modern, well run and elegant, think again. The staff is kind but the place is flawed. It looks great from a distance but, up close, you will get annoyed with the details. The new rooms are large and gorgeous with a great ocean view. The AC works great but there are tons of issues with the wood moldings, leaky shower, cheap soap, broken doors, one non-working elevator, broken lobby and pool fountains, etc. Terrible WiFi, a great in room coffee maker, comfortable bed, excellent water pressure, full kitchen. The restaurant has an excellent buffet breakfast and good food for dinner. Weak drinks at the bar but they are fairly cheap. The spa (reviewed separately) has the same good and bad qualities as the hotel. The pools are nice but, again, flawed. We had an excellent time with the family and would not hesitate coming here again or recommending it to others. Just be prepared for the annoying flaws and expect to have a great time. read more

Welcome to one of Baja's most famous landmarks, the legendary ocean front Rosarito Beach Hotel and Resort. Located just 30 miles south of San Diego, it has been welcoming guests for over 90 years.

History

Established in 1925.

It all began in the early 1920's when Manuel Barbachano chased his dream. It was first opened to the public as a hotel in 1925. In 1932, the grand hotel foyer was constructed, as well as 50 additional rooms, the Salon Mexicano Ballroom and the Azteca restaurant. Senior Barbachano married the talented and beautiful Maria Louisa Chabert and set about building a mansion on the ocean that was worthy of his wife and family. That elegant mansion now forms the hotel's Casa Playa Spa and Chabert's restaurant.

The room had no coffee maker or refrigerator, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, the room was dirty, and the curtains were broken. The elevator was out of service, which made getting to the penthouse difficult. There was no air conditioning, and throughout the night there was a constant loud engine or mechanical noise somewhere in the building that made it very hard to sleep. Another annoyance was the mandatory red wristband that guests are required to wear 24/7. If you lose it, you're charged a fee. It felt more like we were attending a Las Vegas party than staying at a hotel where we should be able to relax. The incredible ocean view is the only reason this isn't a one-star experience. Unless major improvements are made to the cleanliness, maintenance, comfort, and guest experience, I would not stay here again.

However, the parking lot is extremely small, and once we found a spot, we were hesitant to leave because we weren't sure we'd find another one. Now for the downsides. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation, this is probably not the hotel for you. Music was blasting all day and all night long. Even with the sliding door completely closed, the noise was impossible to block out. Since there is no air conditioning--only two very old ceiling fans--the room became hot, humid, and musty whenever we tried to keep the noise out. We stayed in the penthouse with the indoor jacuzzi tub, which was a nice feature, but the room was still extremely humid. The only way to cool it down was by opening both the sliding glass door and the front door to create a cross breeze. Thankfully, the ocean breeze helped a little, but it wasn't enough. In the end, we actually checked out a day early because we simply couldn't take the constant loud music and unbearable heat any longer. Another thing to be aware of is that the standard rooms do not include a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, or air conditioning. From what we were told, only the casitas offer those amenities, so keep that in mind when booking your stay. Unfortunately, the cleanliness was disappointing. The floors were very dusty, and my husband's socks ended up covered in long blonde and red hairs--even though I have black hair. We laughed about it, and I joked that he must have had quite the night while I was sleeping. Sometimes humor is the only way to deal with situations like that. The curtains were also broken. The curtain rod kept falling down, so we had to get creative and use one of my hair ties and a water bottle just to keep the curtains from blowing all over the room whenever the breeze came through. The bed felt like sleeping on a rock, and the pillows flattened the moment you laid your head on them, making it difficult to get comfortable. To top it off, the elevator was broken during our stay. The one thing this hotel absolutely got right was the view. The ocean view from our room was breathtaking and easily the highlight of our stay. Overall, I would only recommend Hotel Festival Plaza if your top priority is being in the center of all the nightlife and you don't mind loud music, basic accommodations, and several maintenance issues. If you're looking for peace, comfort, and a relaxing getaway, I would recommend staying somewhere else.

It has common motel amenities (hopefully, I read old reviews stating they didn't have a mini fridge or working stove top, etc. It's kinda cute cabana style, ours was the lower priced, no frills, not pictured on their website, some parts dated, some parts w/minor imperfections, some cool modern Mexican artsy, cold be romantic for the newly in love, little cozy, but for a person who doesn't aim high in lodging. Did I miss anything? Pet friendly (yay, but your pets should be up to date w/immunizations-to go back home/border) and people should leash, but they don't ;( For it being winter & a rainy cold day/night, hot water in our room did work, but not really hot, not cold, balanced unless you like hotter? Your out of luck. You could probably pile people in your room, might need air mattress as the floors are concrete. Your next to a Italian restaurant, Casino & bar club, and close to, if not on strip. (short drive/ride - bike or horse back) Our room had plenty of storage for two people. Of course it's very thrifty diy kinda style. And we had a small ironing board/iron. Staff was polite & accommodating, when you go to them. THE CONS: Upper case emphasis, because they are important details. No AC/Heating, being winter & a rainstorm weekend, we would have froze our asses off if we hadn't bought a cheaply made heater (but not cheap in price) from Walmart, thick plushy mink (Korean, ironically?!) blankets from Puerto Nuevo that were overpriced for out there because it was nighttime & shops in Tijuana were closed. Had it not been for those two items, would have had to drink ourselves to sleep. (For those middle aged & past that party stage) remember floors are concrete too :/ Small note: someone on website review stated they did ask for a heater & told they were all being used, that would have been the case since it was already raining when we got there. Summer can imagine it's hot & humid-bring a large floor van. Leaks due to rainstorm found randomly in kitchen & bathroom floors. No room service during your stay. One roll of TP, so you'll have to ask for another Only two towels, so you should ask for more like one for the floor (no mat) Our bathroom was tiny. No carpet Not sure if stove work, we didn't use & from what I read from the website reviews, u needed to ask for the propane Leaky iron Pictures on their link don't include the cheaper rooms, & from what I read, the more expensive luxury rooms didn't look at all like what's on their website as well Luckily it was winter & rainy so no loud noises from either walls of room, but keep in mind it can be noisy since it's a party beach town atmosphere. And that your next door to a bar club casino-God knows what kinds of noises, bring good noise canceling headphones Also, you'll never know what to expect by whose staying next to you, but the witless youngsters next to us came outside the morning we were leaving, plopped themselves on planter median that was facing our window we opened/tied curtains, drinking coffee staring at us as we're packing....WTF & who the f&@ does that? Oh wait ignorant rude people. All rooms there have their private enclosed patio/porch & why the hell didn't they sit in front of their room??? Yes children, there are a lot of unschooled people that lack respect & etiquette. Found a bug in the restroom, that's expected. Although kitchen window was frosted, there was a portion that was clear, the curtains although blackouts, were too small for windows, that anyone can see right through your room. I had a binder of docs w/me I used, plus instructions for portable heater to block it. What that purpose of window was, I'll never know except for perves & people to peep in. Those remarks above say it all for me. It wasn't that bad, this can be revamped into a better motel. It's got potential! Would I recommend this place? Of course! But only w/few critical comments from what I mentioned.

The hotel is under new management and is undergoing renovation, the 6th floor is currently the only one with air conditioning. There was also only one working elevator. It's located very close to the beach and is still considered to be downtown Rosarito. They offer free breakfast, thankfully the servers were careful and made sure we didn't have any pork as we do not eat it per our religion so they made us breakfast separately. The room itself was very cute and you can tell they are really trying to please you and be attentive with housekeeping. Bed wasn't too bad, wish there was a fridge and more towels but house keeping did refresh several times even though they forget to leave hand towels. Overall it was a pleasant stay, can't wait till they finish renovating and put in the wellness center.

My roverall rating overall is 5 stars ONLY because of my last experince here with staff member Manuel Soltero and the room we booked. I will also review my first stay here down at the bottom. Check-in main lobby: Check-in is at 4pm, but we checked-in around 2:30pm without a problem. We were assigned specific wristbands according to our room location (new towers: Pacifico), which I highly reccomend versus the old buildings (Playas tower and the other older tower). But, if your budget does not permit the upgrade, I will review the Playas tower at the bottom. We were also given tickets to their dinner buffet with entertainment (review down below). Pacifico Tower Room: We stayed 2 nights on the 10th floor. We had a beach view which was beautiful. The room had a king bed, full kitchen, living room, spacious bathroom with divided shower and toilet area, there were two sinks, and a nice bath tub. Another great feature was the balcony which had two chairs and small table. Tower Security/Safety: Another great plus was a security guard by the entrance, asking to show our wristbands given to us at check-in. People who do not have those assigned wristbands, cannot enter the towers. This is great for folks that are out of town and prioritize safety. This can be a downside for folks who are sharing a room with other people or a big family who can't afford to pay for extra guest fees. Tower Pool: the towers have designated pool, which is really big and beautiful. There are two big jacuzzis, but one of them doesn't work (hopefully they get it fixed soon). Towels are available near the pool and there's a bar next to it as well. Waiter service is available (just don't forget to tip please). This pool is secluded from the pool that is located in the main lobby (which I will review down below as well). Bar located in the main lobby (5 stars): The MAIN reason why I'm giving 5 stars to the whole hotel was due to our excellent experience with a bartender named Manuel Soltero. He provided great customer service and prepared the best piña coladas in all Rosarito. He was attentive to our needs and answered all of our questions about Rosarito and Ensenada. He gave us meaningful tips about places to visit and even places he did not reccomend based on his local experience, always keeping our safety in mind. We even had a conversation about astronomical theories which I really enjoyed. His service was above and beyond!!! Dinner buffet with entertainment (Saturday night ONLY): it was complimentary to guests, we just had to pay for our drinks. They had a variety of food, which was okay. We ordered a bucket of beers and enjoyed the entertainment. We stayed because of the shows. They had folklorico dancers, mariachi, DJ and a live cumbia group. Their music was amazing, I highly recommend staying and enjoy the music. Plus, the comfort of being in a safe place is worth it. After, midnight when it ended, we went back to our room. Tip for guests: you have access to the beach through the main lobby. You can then walk to the Rosarito bars and restaurants right next to the beach (no more than a 5 minute walk). You come back in the same way, there's always a security guard right there. He might ask you to show your hotel assigned wristband to come back in, specially after dark. They close that entrance when it gets dark, but cannot remember the time, just ask. Tip for guests: if you would like, you can bring in your own ice chest with beer and take it to your room, the pool, or anywhere on the beach. If you ask nice, the bar can provide you with a small bag of ice for FREE (just be a decent person and tip them). Checkout: checkout is at 12pm. Make sure you ask for the border passing pass to reduce your time at the border. This touristic pass allows access through the fast lane "Linia Medica." It reduced our waiting time from 6 hours to 2-3 hours. ******Review on Playas Tower******** Playas tower room: we stayed 2 nights and honesty I would not stay there again. The room is spacious with a full kitchen, living room, and small balcony, but the bed was SO HARD!!!! It was awful. The shower was small and the water came out of it. There was also a funky smell coming from the toilet area. Pool: we had access to the main lobby pool, which was not as nice as the Pacifico Tower. They have bar service, which was great. You can also bring your own ice chest with beer. Security: It was nice to know there was an assigned guard near our tower that stayed watch all night. Despite this security measure, I still felt uneasy about my safety due to the structure of this building, it's more open to the outdoors. Bought a travelzoo package online. It included a 2 night stay in a studio suite, margaritas, breakfast and mimosas, drink discounts, and 2 one hour massages. The suite was amazing. The balcony view was gorgeous, overlooking the pier. The open layout plan made the suite more spacious. It even had a small kitchen with fridge. The margaritas were good for being free. Beggars can't be choosers. My husband and I ended up using our discount coupons to buy Cadillac margaritas instead. These tasted much better and were still very affordable. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. The restaurant was good and they also have room service, so we never found a reason to really leave the hotel except for a 30 minute horse ride on the beach. We ended our trip with the massages which was a nice way to go before our drive back to LA. I was really impressed and overall satisfied with my stay and would come back again. I've seen them on both groupon and travelzoo and can't wait for another deal, so I have an excuse to go back. read more

The rooms stink. They are not clean. I requested a non smoking room and both rooms smelled like smoke. Bathrooms were gross and bugs were everywhere! ! The door did not seem secure and was not evened out so bugs got in easily. The second room was full of gnats. The neighbours had police visit them 2 nights in a row. They were loud. Oh and let's not forget about the prostitutes. The mildew smell and humidity in the air. I will not recommend this place unless this is a very last resort. I don't even know how they got 2.9 out this rating. The staff were respectful but they are the reason for the poor hygiene of the rooms. I even walked pass a room that had old filthy mattresses stacked almost to the ceiling! read more

I recently stayed at the Rosarito Beach Hotel and I have to say, it was an absolute pleasure! From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Our suite was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The oversized balcony overlooking the ocean was worth rebooking alone. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a charming outdoor area and direct access to the beach. The location is also perfect, as it's just a short walk to all of the best restaurants and shops in Rosarito. All in all, I highly recommend the Rosarito Beach Hotel for anyone looking for a high-quality, affordable vacation in Mexico. read more

I have been here plenty of times but I don't think I will come back. First of all, the construction outside the room starts at 8am until 7pm at night and it's purely atrocious loud drilling. There is no wifi in the rooms, wth? Even other regular hotels in TJ have good wifi. The place looked okay, beautiful view, but the bath/shower looked really used and with stains. I wish they would care more about their clientele. This place has a lot of potential but they don't really seem to care. Why would anyone wan to pay top dollar at a hotel in Mexico for this kind of service? Look around, there are way better deals out there. read more

El hotel por Elmore jo de una noche esta súper básico los cuartos están sucios y viejos tienen las mismas colchas desde hace 10 años y su Aspecto es descuidado los del front desk son groseros y despostas cuando quieren te tratan bien . Supuestamente ahora te venden el pase para cruzar la frontera y nunca lo tienen disponible que por el sistema y eso es una gran mentira porque sería en todos lados y en Tijuana si lo tienen.
