I was craving Asian cuisine so I ordered up some Hot Ginger on GrubHub. The presentation of the food was beautiful.... even in delivery. However, I wasn't impressed with the food. Half of my meat was gristle. I absolutely hate having gristle in my mouth..... and my very first bite was straight up nasty gristle. My second and third bites were as well..... grrrr!!! The sauce for my noodle salad was icky. I don't even know what it was but it tasted like I was licking a raw fish. I was also really disappointed in the crab rangoon. Imitation crab, really?!? Barf. Just moving to the Lacey area. I've been to a LOT of pho and teriyaki places. A lot. Most just get the job done. Hot Ginger Pho shows the world how it SHOULD be done. Everything is top quality and fresh. I had the yakisoba. The teriyaki sauce is good flavor without being overly sweet. Chicken cooked to perfection. The noodles were soft but firm with good texture. I usually go to this restaurant for decent Phó. However, I just ordered takeout and had the worst teriyaki beef (probably shouldn't have ordered this item) and spring rolls of my life. The spring rolls, which should be a good indicator of a quality at a Vietnamese restaurant, looks like a 4-year old wrapped them and the disproportionate contents had no flavor. Loved the chicken noodle salad bowl. The portion was huge. I think you can easily split this for two meals. The charbroiled chicken breasts go well with the rice noodles. The rice noodles were soft. The quality of food was delicious. My whole family is sick right now so it definitely made us comfortable. We are currently residing in a hotel while we wait to move into our home so I was a little disappointed when I opened the package and only found one shared container for broth. We had no bowls so we made do with the one container but it was rather difficult. I should have looked at the order and asked for another container if I needed one but I don't think about it. Other than that I look forward to sitting down at this location when we aren't sick and enjoying the service and food. Friendly staff upon picking up the order and nice atmosphere. This is a nice clean eatery. The customer service is outstanding! I was craving rice and Asian food this day and I figured I'd Yelp the nearest Asian restaurant to me. So I had the pork chop plate and an order of the pot stickers and egg rolls. Often when eating at a pho restaurant the pork chop plate is my measure for meat & rice dishes at pho restaurants. First off let's talk about the spring rolls and pot stickers. I'm not sure if the pot stickers were made in house but no regrets their fried and the crunch was there and my favorite were the house made egg rolls. These were the morsels of crunchy fried Joy I needed in my life on this day. I recommend you get the egg rolls when you come. So the pork chop plate was alright the chops were a decent size, however, the marinade which these chips should be marinaded was bland. The chops had a smoky grilled flavor but that overwhelmed the actual seasoning of the pork. When I come again I will order the pho. The three older gentlemen seated across from me seemed to be regulars and they guys were mopping up their pho bowls! I'm recommending this place for their egg rolls and customer service. Portion was great , broth is good and spring rolls were good, the peanut sauce was THICCCK, not all soupy like most restaurants. Honestly my boyfriend took me here for the blended bubble tea, but I'm a phonatik for pho so we got the oxtail pho.... I was SO impressed! Such great flavor and the atmosphere was great too. We've tried take out twice from here! Both times were exceptional. The pho is nice and hot with fresh ingredients (that they put on the side). Their shrimp fried rice is delicious! The portion size is big enough for 4 people to share. The crab wontons were good. The first time we had them they were outstanding but the second time, they werent necessarily got. The prices are decent (pho is about $12 for a large, rice is 13.99 and wontons were 7.99). They also offer a military discount! We will be visiting them again soon.
