Very customizable, easy online ordering through grubhub (I wish they had another option- I prefer ordering systems that give more to the restaurant). Ooooooh, I needed that. Hot Ginger brought me back to life... After a long night of shenanigans (too much bass boost) I awoke in bad shape. Fortunately, I knew what to do. Quick! Hot Ginger opens at 10:30, rather than 11:00, like most other pho options in Thurston County. This was what brought me to Hot Ginger today. **Pho is a great breakfast and hangover cure** I ordered Pho Tai, my usual, with extra raw meat on the side and a Vietnamese iced coffee (cafe sua da). The pho came out and it really looked/smelled fantastic. Granted I was in grave condition, I mustered up enough strength and dipped my spoon. Mmmmmmmmmm, broth is medicine. I dipped again. And again... Mmmmmmmm, just lovely. The broth was rich and flavorful, with plenty of the usual veggies/garnishes. I got a large and finished every bite. They don't skimp on the bean sprouts, etc, so that was refreshingly pleasant too. The steak was very tender...like none Ive had before. Also, my iced coffee was superb and I suppose I should mention, so was the service. Water refills so prompt I was sure they had a secret camera monitoring my recovery. The staff are really friendly and this place is never really packed so there's normally seating without a wait. I've probably been here 10 times in the past 10 years and nothing ever really screams, "come back". The meatball pho is a bit bland, but my mother really loves the steak and brisket pho. My brother loves the terriyaki and crab/cream cheese wontons. The fried rolls are very standard. Again, nothing screams great food. The place is clean and has hand sanitizer at any of the main common areas, such as when you enter and when you go up to pay. Bathrooms are clean too! read more

Came here for dinner and we ordered a chicken pho and bahn mi. The waitress came out and gave us the usual veggies that goes with the pho and the basil had mold and the bean sprouts were giving a sour rancid smell. I was watching YouTube videos of some dude who travels around showing restaurants he tries and the video I watched left me with a craving so I thought I would give them a shot. Tried Hot Ginger pho because of the reviews and the food was pretty authentic. My server Brandon (I think that was his name) was amazing and gave me recommendations and was very friendly! I picked the beef pho based on his recommendations and was happy with how authentic it tasted. The pho came with generous amounts of mints and the fragrance smell amazing. However, while I was enjoying my superb pho one of the other servers started yelling at a CHILD?! That ruined my experienced and made me feel highly uncomfortable. The server was a White man and wore a hat. Im not sure if this is a common occurrence but he needs some anger management classes because that is completely unacceptable. Overall, the good is 8/10 and the service was 10/10. Overall experience, including the incident brings it down to 5/10. Had came here once when they first opened and didn't really care for what I had ordered so had never been back until a few days ago. They are in Phase 2 and have limited seating so our party had to be split to accommodate. I ordered the steak and brisket regular size pho which was pretty big. It was good, but not the best. Lacking in depth of flavors. My son had the shrimp fried rice and he said it was good. They have kid size pho which is nice. The beef yakisoba looked good as well, would possibly try it if I came back. Waitstaff was friendly. This was my first time at a restaurant that served Pho, I didnt really know what to expect so what my co-workers said this place was a must. I ordered a small bowl of the Pho Chin Nam, Brisket and meatballs noodle soup. It didnt take long for the meals to arrive and I was really surprise how large the small bowl was.. I added a handful of sprouts to the bowl and stirred the noodles, after tasting the broth I decided to add a couple freshly cut jalapeños that were provided even thought the broth was very tasty, I had a craving for jalapeños after seeing them delivered. The noodles were very tasty. I took the advice of my co-worker and added a little duck sauce, it definitely change the flavor and paired well with the meatballs and brisket meat. Decor is nifty, wish they had a bigger whiskey selection although I probably wish this of anywhere that doesn't have a lot of whiskey. Damn you liver. Service is friendly and attentive though. I had ordered the veggie and fried tofu pho. Compatriot had also ordered a fried roll that I tried. Fried roll was ok, expensive for my tastes but then again I didn't pay for it? Haha. Well, it was okay anyway. Nothing to write home about. I'd say it had too much stuff in the middle, and reminded me of pork lumpia filling. Like it could totally be made smaller and into lumpia and it'd work swimmingly. Anyway, the pho? Actually one of the better ones I've had honestly. The fried tofu that they used for it held together through the meal, the mushrooms were fresh, sprouts and the rest of the veggies worked well with the broth. I'd say it isn't the best, but it is up there since honestly most places I've had mess it up in some way. Of course, this is all subjective. Let me start by saying this is my favorite Pho place. I've introduced many people to them and everyone loved it. The food is fantastic. The service, however, is now so bad I'm not sure I'll ever return. The water they give you has next to no ice and is room temperature. They fill your glass while you're looking at the menu, but then never refill them unless you flag them down, despite the server returning to the table to serve the food. My friend had to ask multiple times for lemon for her water. But, again, the water wasn't refilled, even when they brought the lemon (one very skinny slice) Appetizer plates aren't cleared, even though the appetizers have been fully consumed and the plates are empty. My friend has a food allergy and previously the chef and manager had both been VERY accommodating, this time the chef wasn't at all, and what she had previously been able to eat she was no longer because they must have changed the recipe, as it now contains her allergen. And this isn't really a complaint, because the restaurant is totally entitled to change their menu and choose whether to accommodate a guest or not. It's just disappointing because they had previously been so awesome and now they're not. We were trying to make it as easy as possible. We were asking what dishes other dishes either didn't contain the allergen or where it could easily be removed. They had no suggestions for us. our server seemed very confused about allergens, because it's not one of the "big" ones. It feels like they've had a change of management/staff, and I'm pretty unhappy with it and will be looking for someplace new to try. read more

This place kind of has that modern trendy feel that The Lemongrass has but more minimalist. First thing I will say is the service is excellent. You are greeted at the door even if the hostess is busy doing something else. They are very attentive and check on you more than once. The restaurant is quite big for a pho restaurant but I guess the addition of the bar requires extra seating just in case people come just to drink. I also like they are open later than other pho places. The menus are very large and take up a big portion of the table which I found kind of odd, but the menus have clear pictures of almost all items for order so you know what you're getting in to. I've been here more than once and ordered the same things both times to see if there was any difference (veggie/tofu pho and bubble tea). I got strawberry bubble once and green tea bubble another time with tapioca. The presentation of the teas is nice but the strawberry was lacking in flavor. The green tea was nice but both times the tapioca were terrible. They were extremely hard and did not appear to be kept in sugar syrup at a warmer temperature to keep the outside gelatinous. We also had the spring rolls. Those were actually very good. The peanut sauce was amazing. So good, simple, and fresh. The pho also was lacking in flavor. The large size is huge which is great and was loaded with veggies and tofu but the broth just wasn't original and unique to this business. I did like that they actually pan fried the tofu so it was crispy on the outside. That was really good as many pho places don't actually cook the tofu right. I just kept adding hoisin and sriracha to change the flavor of the broth but after getting through 1/3 of the bottle of hoisin, I knew it wasn't going to change. I also found their menu a little more pricey than other pho places. All the extra items to add to the pho were like $3-$5 each (extra beef, extra meat, etc) Both times I went it was close to $20 for one person. I can go to other places for a little less money, but the ambience isn't the same in some of the more "hole in the wall" pho places and don't forget this one has a bar. read more

Ordered a combo fried rice through Grub Hub. Of course the menu price is inflated and the tip is 20%. I have no problem. However I do have a problem when the bag is wet, the rice is dry, and they are so tight they do not include soy sauce or some other sauce. I called to tell them my issue. They said I needed to call after the order and ask for a three cent packet. All over the US and Canada I have never had to ask for a soy sauce packet. It is just part of the deal. What a horrible experiences full disclosure my family ordered from this place OFTEN. It is some of the best pho in the area because of the flavor in the broth. But today they fell WELL BELOW STANDARDS. We ordered steak pho with egg noodles and a Vietnamese tea. The egg noodles were over cooked as you can see in the image. There is not enough meat. So when I called the restaurant they started making excuses but I was very mad so the woman put the manager on and he started to talk down to me and make more excuses. He spoke over me and continued to yell that we should just "put the noodles in cold water" etc etc. He then proceeded to tell me that service is busy and that he is hanging up now! I understand everything with the pandemic has changed some standards but we have been customers for over a year and we constantly order from them. To be treated in this was is just horrible.
