I also tried the key lime cookie, and it was so good that I had to go back today for another one. Because my first experience was so great, I returned the very next day to try something different. This time, I had the sausage and chicken gumbo, along with (yes!) another key lime cookie. The gumbo was flavorful and comforting--definitely a great choice. What truly stood out the most, though, was the service. On my first visit, my waitress--who was also managing--along with another server, were incredibly polite and courteous. Although I can't remember their names, they were both exceptional. Today, I had the best cashier/server who even brought me a sample of the gumbo before I ordered. I also met the kitchen manager, who was friendly and confident about the dish, and the general manager came out to introduce himself and was very welcoming. This place is a 10 out of 10! More on the sweet and tangy side but worked really well. Fries seasoned perfectly, and the pork belly cubed and cooked to perfection. Out of all of the times I've been to Wicked Barley, these fries have to be one of the best items I've had from there. Cheese curds were pretty basic. Tasted great, but nothing to write home about. If you like Cheese curds, you'll enjoy theirs. I originally had my eye on the jerk chicken wings and I was warned by the waitress and my friend that they are REALLY hot. Jerk chicken is generally one of those thats right on the borderline of too hot for me. To give you an idea, if you're familiar with Butthutt BBQ's jerk chicken, theirs is as far as I can go for spice level. So I switched it up to be safe, and I am glad I did. Sweet and sticky, these had really great flavor inside and out. Would definitely get these again in the future. Brought a couple home to the hubby and he seemed to enjoy them too, and he normally doesn't like, what he refers to as, "sweet meat". I had three different beers in my favorite tasting style, sour. I had the PB&J sour, the mango sour, and the orange cream sour. The orange cream was my favorite of the 3. We enjoyed the sounds of the band Splittone in the background and enjoyed the whole vibe of our meal. I'm hoping to visit again on a future weekend and possibly bringing one of my pups along with me since they are dog friendly.

My wife ordered the French Toast Burger out of sheer curiosity. It was exactly what she guessed it would be. She hit it with a fork & knife like I did with the steak in a sack and she finished most of it! She also loved the potatoes. It's worth noting that our server was a delightful woman named Eileen. They remind me of the filmstrip fries you can get in Disney's California Adventure. - Coke + Lime: if the machine is calibrated, this is always a win for me! It definitely made a travel day better. The first major issue was the fact that they will not split checks for you and will actually put all orders on one bill and make you figure it all out. We had a large party and the server stood around while we all had to figure out what was owed for almost 30 minutes. We got a manager and he stated that their policy is to only split a check up to 4 ways, regardless of how many parties are involved. I used to serve tables many times before I got into real estate and have never seen a restaurant with such a dumb policy. I asked to reduce the server's gratuity from the forced 20% on a large party to 15% since we had to spend our time doing her job and the manager said he could not accommodate that. FYI, they like to calculate gratuity based on AFTER they add in sales tax. So you are paying their forced gratuity on sales tax as well. Service was awful, slow, and we had to refill our own drinks multiple times. The server could not even clear our table properly like you would expect at most restaurants with this type of atmosphere. The food was mid. The only thing this place had going was the atmosphere. If it is this difficult to figure out how to split payments with multiple parties and is supposedly "policy", I can't imagine this business will last and certainly won't recommend them to anyone.
