I ordered the currywurst with spaetzle. Naturally, it's a simple, but effective combination. The sauce is mostly just a bland marinara-ish sauce, but with a hint of curry. Nevertheless, it works well for sausage as usual and keeps everything from feeling too dry. The spaetzle helps soak up the juices and cushions the meatiness. The onions help keep it from feeling too carb-y or heavy. I prefer for the wurst to be cooked longer, but then some people would probably complain about it being over-cooked. read more

I went back today to try the schnitzel and now Wurstbusters is officially in my top three food trucks in Jax. Perfection. *chef's kiss* The perfect ratio of crispy, seasoned breading to delicate pork...y'all, it's SO good!! It came with a couple of curries (yay!), a nice balance of flavors between slightly sweet with a hint of vinegar at the end. It's great for dipping in pieces of schnitzel, although I'm sure others prefer to pour it over instead. My second go-round proved the spaetzle wasn't a fluke. It's simply amazing! When asked if I wanted the grilled onions, uh yes please! Give me ALL the buttery, translucent onions on top of those cheesy pillows of peace-brokering deliciousness. I've seen a couple of reviews saying it can take awhile to get your food but I assure you it's worth the wait. To me, it feels like the same amount of time as other food trucks. It would be cool to be able to order ahead but I'd probably still order in person because the Wurstbusters ladies are so friendly and nice to chat with. read more

I'm no bratwurst expert but I know what I like. This truck has only been in town a couple of months as the owners relocated here from London. They made a decision on Jacksonville after narrowing it down to the east coast, then eliminating Boston/NY, South Carolina, Georgia, and SoFla. They were only here 2 weeks before launching their food truck so they came with a plan for sure. Solid sausage with that hint of nutmeg served on a bun and caramelized onions (on request). The fries were crispy and everything was cooked to order. Friendly customer service and they are so happy to be here. Go out and support this truck! read more

I had the pleasure of trying Wurstbusters last night at Veterans United! Beautiful food truck - I wish that I had taken a few pix - but I was enjoying my meal too much and forgot! When I walked up, I was greeted by a super friendly chef with a German accent - so my curiosity was peaked. The ladies that operate Wurstbusters are from Berlin, so I knew I was in for the real deal - and I was right! I had the bratwurst mit pomme frite (fries) and a side of cucumber salat with dill. Everything was delicious. The bratwurst was the best I've had in years! The flavor took me back to my own days in Germany. Sehr Gut! This is a truck that I will follow closely and I look forward to trying some of their other offerings. This food truck was at my workplace, so I decided to give them a try when it was announced via email that it was a brand new food truck for the city to enjoy. The truck is bright colored and new, and when I went up to them to check out the menu, the nice lady behind the window gave me a small sample of the bratwurst to try. It was nice and moist, and had flavor on its own. She also explained to me that the the currywurst is the bratwurst in a marinara-type sauce and it's the German version of curry. It sounded pretty good, so I ordered the currywurst with the spaetzle as my side. For 9 bucks including tax, it was a great deal. I got plenty of curry sauce with my bratwurst, and the spaetzle was like a German mac and cheese. I got plenty of spaetzle and the time it took to prepare was not bad, about ten minutes and there were 3 people in front of me. The currywurst was delicious. The bratwurst was nice and juicy just like my sample, and the curry sauce went well with it. The spaetzle was delicious and even the curry sauce was good with it as well. I was pretty full after my lunch break and it was worth it. The ladies of the truck are very nice and enjoyed serving my workplace. I would love to see more variety eventually in the future. If they are back at my workplace I'll definitely hit them up for lunch again. read more

Totally unimpressed. They were at an event at Main and Six Brewery in Springfield, and a friend had raved about them so we decided to give them a try. Unfortunately, it took almost an hour for our food to show up. I understand that there were a decent number of orders, but it seemed like one only came out every ten minutes or so. Definitely way too long of a wait- it got to the point where it was a noticeably long wait, and that's impressive at a brewery, usually drinking a beer makes time irrelevant. When the food finally came out, it was just okay. The brat was on a terrible bun, very small compared to the brat. The brat was just a bit undercooked, and there was a piece of paint on the bun. We ordered a side of spaetzle, and it was unimpressive and cold. Definitely not a high-volume truck, and I probably would've been significantly more ok with the meal if I hadn't waited an hour for it. read more

Fries were decent. Sausage was pretty hard, indicating that it had been cooked and then reheated after a while. And if you are going to put a bratwurst on a hamburger bun, at least split it down the middle so we don't get 90% of a sauerkraut sandwich with 10% filled with meat. Weeeeeell, I'd actually give 4 1/2 stars. My husband had the bratwurst grilled on a bun, and (cheesy) spaetzle; he enjoyed the meal and the curry sauce, his only complaint being that, to his taste, the brat was a little overcooked. I had the spaetzle and the cucumber salad. Loved the spaetzle. The cucumber salad was...okay. The two ladies who run the truck are so very friendly and informative about their cusine and their country. It was a slow time, so we had time for a chat. There was a long line to place my order for curry wurst with fries, and after waiting patiently for the food to be prepared finally was served a luke warm brat with cold fries. I can appreciate the challenges with limited staffing, but if a quality product cannot be prepared and served they shouldn't bother. read more

Delicious! We had the best meal from this food truck. We all ordered something different so we could taste everything. The menu is full of all my favorite authentic German food. The schnitzel was absolutely perfect, the breading actually stayed on the meat and so many other restaurants struggle with this. The kids absolutely loved the spatzel and so did the adults. The potato salad was also a crowd favorite. My bratwurst made me feel like I was back in Germany for the Christmas markets. What a wonderful food truck, we can't wait to eat there again. The food was beyond expectations. Growing up in a pool of household I had homemade spaetzle in this knocked it out of the park. The sausage was fresh and clearly homemade by the texture. Worst busters knows what they're doing the special was not quite traditional, it tasted like a pierogi. They added cheese and potato. The schnitzel was tender and fried perfectly. There was a new truck out at the food court today. So being the food truck stalker that I am. I made my way since I had some free time. The first thing that you see if this bright n shiny red truck with small German girl on the side. Well the name gave away the menu. Brats, and curry wurst with spaetzle or fries. They also carry some real German potato salad and kasespatzle (cheesy spaetzle). I did get to talk to the 2 girls inside Natalie and Annette about their truck and their menu. They were very quick to offer samples which I did take them up on. I will say as a sausage maker theirs is pretty darn good. Nice full casings and had a good flavor packages. I did enjoy the samples and went in for the brats with spaetzle. They threw in some kasespatzle and it was quite good. The girls really mean business on this truck and they do a good job. Very happy to be there making their food and serving us. Their food is good and they are super happy you want to eat it too. read more

I tried this food truck yesterday for the very first time. I'm sad to say I'm half German and I've never had currywurst. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I ordered the currywurst with the spaetzle. The spaetzle was The best I've had since moving from Canada to the United States 10 years ago. This is real authentic spaetzle. I've been to one German restaurant here and they serve spaghetti as spaetzle. The spaetzle was served with cheese on top and was delicious! The currywurst was a delight to my taste buds. Group of food trucks at the Prime Osbourne today. We read all the menus and LOVED the options here. I ended up getting the Schnitzel with Spaetzle and was super happy. The gravy (bbq? marinara?) was sweet and savory, the schnitzel was crispy outside and tender inside and the spaetzle was very cheezy with nice sauteed onions. Best of all, the chef was legit German and SUPER friendly. Hope to see them again! read more
