White Florentine Pizza

Hose 22 Firehouse Grill in Rochester continues to prove why it's a local favorite. We had a fantastic meal here that hit all the right notes. The vibe is welcoming and laid-back (we visited between lunch and dinner), perfect for a casual outing with solid food and drinks. We started with the crispy shrimp appetizer, which came out golden brown and perfectly paired with a sweet chili sauce. The wings were meaty and slathered in a bold, sticky BBQ sauce, exactly what you want from pub-style wings. The white pizza was another winner: a bubbling, cheesy masterpiece with a perfectly chewy crust. The Caesar salad was fresh and crisp, rounding out the meal nicely. To top it all off, we enjoyed two cold beers that really hit the spot. Service was friendly, and the food came out hot and quick. If you're in Rochester and haven't been to Hose 22 in a while or ever, it's definitely worth a stop. Great food, great beer, and a cozy neighborhood feel that keeps people coming back.

Highly recommended local restaurant in Charlotte Beach area of Rochester, NY. Tributes to all firemen and women who service the people of Greater Rochester. Food is a wide array and you won't be disappointed. Had the mussels with an Italian sausage twist in the sauce. The artichoke spinach crostinis, white pies and salads were highlighted and recommended by my lunch companions.

The first time we came a couple years ago was rocky. Sat at the bar, got some waters while we looked at the beer and food menus and no one came back for 10 minutes or more so we left. Took us a while to go back but had 2 nice experiences after. The French onion soup was good and we are big critics of this. The chicken cutlet dish was delicious but pretty pricey. Chicken Caesar salad was plentiful but salad prices everywhere are outta control. Have a nice beer selection and best yet they have a patio and allow dogs. We are in the neighborhood and will be back!

My burger was over done and fries seemed like they've been in a warmer or bin for a long time. Definitely not fresh. I see so many great reviews for this place so will try them again. Perhaps it was just too busy of a Friday evening. My husband did enjoy his Mac n cheese. Ambiance is definitely cool.

Busy Friday night! Very friendly staff. Wait was 15-20 mins but the texting system was fine. Bar area super cool. High ceilings! Party room upstairs and big dining area downstairs with lots of historic photos. Dining area out front. We had ribs, BBQ sandwich, and grilled chicken salad w strawberries. Great draft list, including ciders, though we had two wine drinkers who also left happy.

Nice historic building, well maintained and clean. It is nicely decorated inside in honor of the old firehouse. We went on a Saturday afternoon, around 12:30. Parking lot was full but there was hardly anyone inside. We were cheerfully and promptly seated and our drink order was taken shortly after that. It wasn't long for our drinks to arrive, when they did we put in our food order. Both drinks were really good. It took about 15 minutes for the fried pickles to come out. Huge basket, perfectly cooking with a nice, well balanced, dipping sauce. It took another 20-25 minutes for our wings and pulled pork sandwich to arrive. The wings were huge, perfectly cooked and the parm/garlic sauce was excellent. My sandwich was excellent. Hardly portion of pork topped with cheese, pickles, and a pickled cabbage. Wonderfully tasty. The side of fries was generous, seasoned well, but could've used a little more time in the fryer. They were limp and a little soggy. Our server was one of the best we've had in a while, Antonia I think her name was. I look forward to coming back soon.

The feta cheese dip is amazing! It was so savory and the perfect appetizer to fill you up. It was so good we ordered another one after finishing our first plate. The portion is perfect to share among 4 people. The firefighter decor was nice. There were several different photo ops! I loved the hoses hanging above the bar and the big mirror in the bar. The drinks were good especially the mimosas and espresso martini! The customer service was good and we had no issues with any wait times for tables

Located in an old fire house and also listed as part of the haunted history trail this building is quite unique .With speedy service and a smile I ordered the fire house nachos which were Chips topped with queso blanco,Pico de Gallo and cheddar jack cheese , with tomato salsa and sour cream and were very tasty.Theres a bar to come in just for drinks and plenty of parking in their lot.Lots to choose from on the menu like salads, burgers, pizza and ruebens.

This old fire house is very cool plus it's listed on the haunted history trail.Theres plenty of free parking in their lot and a huge bar to come in and grab a cocktail. Lots of choices on the menu like salads, pizzas. Ruebens, burgers and Burritos. With speedy service and a smile I got the fire house nachos it was huge and delish and consisted of chips with cheddar jack cheese, salsa, sour cream, queso Blanca and pico de gallo.

What a wonderful place... it's an old fire station that is now a restaurant. The inside is filled with fire fighting memorabilia. The menu is great with lots pubby choices.... My wife had the pulled Pork and she gave it 5 stars. The appetizers we had , fried pickles and onion soup was amazing. My steak sandwich was good ... it definitely could have used more meat. That's the only reason for not 4.... The real score should be 4.75.... The staff is awesome... Ashley was our waitress and guided us through the menu and her recommendations were on point! I will be back to this place every time I visit Rochester!

The enchilada pizza. It's really, really good!

We've been meaning to try out Carnegie Cellars for a long time and 3 of us finally went in…read moretonight. The experience was amazing! The menu is different than other places, it goes from small to large plates and you order what you want and if you want more- keep ordering. My daughter got a flight of white wines and I got one of their beers, which was an interesting hazy IPA called Baby Kittens. Our waiter Philip was very knowledgeable on the wine selection and helped with the food order. We started out with the Flour City bread, which was toasted and had a dip of whipped ricotta with butternut squash - excellent! Next, we had the salt and pepper squid - their version of a fried calamari appetizer - also excellent with a nice little spice that snuck up on you a little bit. We followed that with the farm salad, which had a great cranberry vinaigrette. Then we had mussels which were over a jasmine rice that had a great sauce with it. The last dinner item we had was the butternut squash ravioli - so tasty! The table next to us got the fries, which was a huge mound of french fries with Parmesan cheese and I think something else on it. It was a lot of food. The waiter suggested their desserts, which was a choice of a huge slice of carrot cake or a skillet baked chocolate chip cookie or brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. We got the latter and it was excellent. The atmosphere was very subdued and great for a date or just a fun night out. I highly recommend visiting Carnegie Cellars!

It feels like a hidden locals-only joint where you can grab a glass of your fave from a thoughtfully curated list of delicious options, and settle in with your better half, besties or a group of friends and just chill. We've been to Apogee a number of times before and 'after' covid, in colder months when we've been lucky to snag a window table, and in warmer times, like tonight, when we can sit outside and enjoy the flickering fireflies along with our sparkling rosè. Besides the pleasant atmosphere, Apogee has a beautifully appointed interior space, clean bathrooms, and a menu with cheese plates, cake, and more wines than you could taste in a summer. All of that plus super knowledgable 'bar tenders' (more like wine sommeliers) who can take your possibly clumsy description of what you think you want and offer up several perfect options, and you have the makings of a very pleasant evening. Book mark this place and plan to spend at least an hour enjoying an outside table!

As a special events venue, Apogee was flexible with outside food and also with decorations. There was no additional venue rental/site fee, just a minimum spend amount (which we were confident that we would exceed). The venue is cozy and intimate, but has high ceilings so it did not feel claustrophobic at all, even with 30+ guests at one point. I'm a wine snob myself, so I was a bit skeptical initially when I saw their wine list. Most of the wines they serve retail for $10-20. They do have some bottles that are more expensive (retail ~$30). However, after tasting some of their entry level wines (Ancient Peaks Zinfandel & Gouguenheim Malbec), my worries vanished. Everything I tasted was excellent and drank better than their actual price point. Steve was a great host. He was laid back, but still friendly and attentive to all of our guests. He made sure everybody's drink needs were satisfied. He was also flexible with letting us in the venue early to set up and also staying late to clean up. I also liked the fact that they allowed us to bring our own wine, for a $15 per bottle corkage fee, which is fair. Anyways, Apogee is a great venue for a small party. They are flexible and reasonable. I would definitely recommend them as a wine bar and for hosting a private event (especially on a Sunday).

While planning our dinner party months in advance, the communication from Janine was excellent. She helped us develop a 4-course menu that was sure to have something for everyone, including vegan and allergy friendly options. Amy was our server for the evening, and she ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our evening. The chairs in the Meyer's Den are wide and comfortable, the decor is dark and classy, and being in the basement away from the dining room made it very quiet and easy to converse with family. The room is rather spacious for 12 guests, but could also accommodate a few more people without feeling cramped. Out of the appetizers we selected, the Charred Octopus was very popular and everyone enjoyed it...even those that had never previously eaten octopus. The baby cauliflower dish was also a beautiful presentation, and quite large and enjoyable. The salads, particularly the Charred Hurricane salad, were nice light courses before the entree was served. As for the entrees, the filet mignon was a little on the dry side, but we really enjoyed the light and crispy spinach fritters that accompanied the beef. The salmon was a generous portion of medium rare fish, and there was lot going on with that dish - spicy cauliflower and za'atar potatoes that had some mixed reviews. Folks who ordered the duck breast seemed to enjoy the complex preparation, which had asparagus, green beans, and two pureed sauces - cauliflower ginger and cherry-rhubarb. The doughnut bread pudding with apple pieces and vanilla ice cream was a delicious, decadent way to end the meal. We left rather stuffed, and delighted with the overall experience that allowed our family to celebrate together.

The duck was succulent and roasted just enough. The Brussel sprouts that came on the side were a disappointment though. For dessert, I ordered ricotta pine nut tart with lemon sorbet.
