DO NOT CALL HORIZON FOR ANY ISSUES IN YOUR HOUSE! We had a small water stain show up on our ceiling under the bathroom. We called horizon to come out to check before it got worse. they came out and told us our toilet ring needed to be replaced and that it would cost $705!!!!!! Our total bill was $814 for them to come out and replace a toilet ring??????? Absolutely disgusting that they justify these prices after calling other plumbers the average price to replace a toilet ring is approx $100. I will never use Horizon again... read more

Horizon Services - Plumbing Near Me - Audubon, Pennsylvania

For three years in a row, Horizon Services scheduled an appointment for service to my equipment only to CANCEL - EACH time during the evening - BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT. After "jumping through hoops," (each time) I FINALLY got a repair person. The Company vowed to "Do Better." Sucker that I am, I believed them. They CANCELLED ME AGAIN last night, the evening before my appointment, claiming they were "overbooked." NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE THIS COMPANY. I HAVE LEARNED MY LESSON! That is a terrible way to treat a (previous)10-year Elderly Customer. It's simple, if a company CAN NOT perform, DON'T MAKE A PROMISE. "Slick Marketing" and Websites do not make a quality company. read more

My heat went out and the place I called stood me up. Call Horizon and they were able to schedule same day repair. The technician still came out even though it was late in the evening. Price was reasonable and technician was very professional. All these negative reviews scare me but i had a positive experience and would call again. read more

The Technician that arrived, Rob was friendly, knowledgeable, and did a great job servicing my heating system. Rob took COVID measures to protect himself and my family. He also took the time to keep my home neat and clean. Rob explained everything he was doing and kept me abreast of anything that was needed. I would highly recommend Horizon to my family and friends! read more

In my experience and opinion this company is all about the charging for additives and revenue intake versus creating a great experience for the customer. Their technicians are not effectively trained, "revisits" were common so a more skilled technician can correct the first visit! They apparently misquoted my annual contract of which was charged to my credit card and upon calling them for again something they should of corrected on first visit wanted additional payment prior to fixing their mistake. They overcharged for a outside hose faucet to fix - wanted 900+ and settle on 750! I'm now with another provider ... that has skilled techs, scheduling ease, responsive and not out to bill but out to build a reputation! read more

Second update: Service tech Danny came out to do a normal checkup on my unit. I was called several times to let me k ow that someone was on their way. I was sent an email the day prior to confirm my appointment and an email after the calls to let me k ow the name of the service tech that was on his way. Danny came with a mask on and when he entered and exited my home he put shoe protectors on, each time. He checked that everything was working correctly, added a pound of coolant to my system (it was a little low) and was in his way. After a rocky start everything worked out great and I will have them come back twice a year for normal maintenance. I couldn't be happier with the end results. read more

I hate to write this review because I have been using Horizon Services since year 2010. But, right now Horizon Services is no more trust-worth any more. I noticed that Horizon Services have become not accountable and not reliable since year 2020: i) I called and scheduled my annual HVAC maintenance last year. Then I was told to re-schedule the service right before the appointment date; ii) Two weeks ago, I scheduled an appointment for this year's HVAC maintenance for today (12Oct2021) between 2 to 6pm, and got verified during my call. So, I took half-day off from my work for this appointment. At around 1:40pm today, I got a call from Horizon and requested to re-schedule my service again. I am very disappointed with this late call and last minute change. In addition, I was asked to push the appointment to their earliest date on Dec. 1, 2021. If Horizon keeps serving your loyal customer like this again and again, today may be my last call to Horizon. I will have to tell you I will never use your services anymore. I may share this bad Horizon Services experience with my neighbors and friends. David on 12Oct2021 read more

Have been without heat for 10 days and still haven't heard back from them on a part they are still waiting for. With temperatures at their lowest in years and us getting tired of waiting we started to research the part they were having such a hard time (apparently) sourcing. Not only did I find the part at 4 different supply houses but also learned that they were charging us 10x the price. I completely understand that there is obviously a markup with the part and of course add in other labor and overhead, but $1400? Subsequently we hired a local family owned provider - not only did they source the part immediately and fixed it within 2 hours but they charged us 60% less than the Horizon quote. At this time, I STILL haven't heard back from Horizon. So happy we hired someone else... read more

These guys are horrible at scheduling... tried to schedule emergency services with their website for same day but nothing was available even though their website claims "Guaranteed Same Day Service". So i ended up scheduling for the next day and an hour before their scheduled show up time frame expired, i decided to call and learned that the appointment never even made it to their system (i did receive an appointment confirmation email mind you!). Whats the point of having the feature then... it's false marketing if you ask me... providing a service that doesn't exist! We're in the tech age... 2022 and your website scheduling doesn't work.. how bad is your actual service! No thank you! read more

I needed the same day Navient tankless water heater service for ignition problem code. On the phone i was given a price of 87$ to get technician for appliance inspection, same day. Technician was on time as scheduled. Great so far! My mother was at home, I was at work on a cell phone with a technician. Problem was identified as a "gas valve replacement" with at least 1 week of waiting for a part. Price to replace $1320. I asked what a new same model heater would cost. I was told 11K as per price list. (by the way, same model price is $2000 from online retailers) I said NO to overpriced replacement cost and declined there offer and was charged 237$ for technician's visit. I paid the bill, that i should not have. I called Horizon back and asked a simple question, how much would it cost to get Horizon's technician to come to my house to check a water heater that does not work? The answer was $87. I explained why I called and that I feel I was incorrectly overcharged. Here comes the "hidden fee" part: $87 initial service charge + $20 gas surcharge +$120 plumbing inspection charge..... Really!? Seriously!!??? I asked for explanation and did not get a solid answer why this information was not giving to me initially. They took my number and said someone from a customer service would call within 24 hours. Lets see how long that would take! This company is false advertising their service prices and overcharges for service/equipment and installation. I will never use them again and will not recommend to anyone! read more

Terrible customer service. Terrible dispatchers. Not to mention the plumbing techs not able to tell the difference between shared and not shared piping. Not willing to correct a mistake either. Leaving the job without a call or nothing. read more

We just purchased a heat pump and ac unit on Tues, for over 10k. Lasted 4 days. Pipes are all frozen We called and they can't send anyone out for another 3 days. This is after we purchased a furnace in Nov, they never added the required new piping though out and put a nick in our door. Terrible service, terrible products just like I thought. We will have them remove the system, refund our money and go with our old company. So much for 24/7 service. read more

I had been a loyal Horizon customer for years, so when my hot water heater burst and flooded my basement, I called them immediately. I did not request any competing bids from other plumbers and just trusted the fact that Horizon would show up on time, offer a fair price for the work and perform the job competently. Instead, I learned later that I was vastly, ridiculously overcharged for the work. The new heater that I purchased is available from everyone for about $2000, and yet Horizon charged over $6000 for the work!! Their justification for this is that I also purchased a bogus "10 year warranty" on the water heater, which costs an extra $4000 (more than twice the price of the heater itself). There's no possibility of purchasing the water heater without the warranty, and Horizon won't even give out the price of the work without the bogus warranty. And by the way, there's no actual warranty contract either--the warranty is just a single line written on the invoice that says "ten year parts & labor warranty." I found out about this scam later when I did more research into the typical price for a water heater and learned that I had been taken for a ride. I called the company several times to ask for a refund of my "warranty" purchase, and yet no one offered any solutions or attempted to fix the situation. I spoke with "Marissa" in customer service, who also offered no help. So now we are actually trying to find out how to report Horizon to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office or bring a legal action to recover the cost of this bogus "warranty" purchase. Don't get stuck in the same situation--buy a water heater from someone else!! read more

On Saturday my main drain clogged to 100%! This meant no use of the toilet, sinks, etc. I called around and was quoted as much as $429 by another large company. Smaller local guys were quoting $125-$250, but also couldn't come out until Monday. Sunday late-morning, I contacted Horizon and inquired about their $99-drain cleaning coupon. This is advertised on their website. Maria was very helpful and was able to send out a tech between 2-6p. By 3:30 I received a call from the office saying their tech was wrapping up and would be to me within an hour. About 45-mins later a tech named Phil Rainone showed up. He was very nice. We chatted for a few and he asked to see what was going on. I explained to him and showed him the clog & main drain access in my basement. He grabbed his tools and went to work. Within an hour my main drain was flowing and all was well! I thanked Phil, paid the $99 (Which includes a 1-year guarantee), and after not showering for 24-hours I went right upstairs to take a shower. It was a relief to see the shower did not back up into my kitchen sink as it had done the day before. I am very happy knowing I saved $330! I am also quite satisfied with the service I received from the two dispatchers/ladies with whom I spoke and from Phil. I 100% recommend Horizon & Phil for their drain cleaning services! Phil also deserves a raise! read more

Signed up for two hvac tune-ups. At second visit they recommended, which was included in the estimate, replacing the capacitor for $500. Literally a $15 part on Amazon (I bought). When I asked for a pic of the reading, the reading was in acceptable limits and the estimate was frankly a lie. I called a reputable hvac shop shared my experience and they said they usually charge $280 but would have no reason to replace at the numbers reflected. Then horizon tried to do the scare tactic. Bottom line. They lie. They're untrustworthy and they are over priced. DO NOT HIRE THEM. Oh, then at time of billing they wanted to ad a previously not disclosed $25 surcharge for fuel. Again, never disclosed. Cheats!!!! So untrustworthy. Dishonest. read more

Horizon is predatory and opportunistic, after they identified a sag in the main septic line their sales rep quoted us $8.6K (including some sort of 10% discount) and immediately asked why we wouldn't sign right now. Two weeks later the same sales rep called back and offered an additional 20% discount to bring the total to $6.9K. We had a local septic service do an estimate for a total of $2.2K. My furnace wouldn't stay lit, so I had Horizon come out yesterday. They said my burners need to cleaned, which I was charged $745 for and they charged me $469 for a door switch. It's a $9 part that literally takes less than 5 minutes to replace and beyond this, they didn't even replace it. So for $1300 they cleaned my burners, were here a total of 2 1/2 hours tops and today it's leaking water under one furnace. So today I called for an itemized invoice, was put on hold twice for 15 minutes, with the person never picking back up and they've yet to even come back to fix the new leak I have. Keep in mind I got a $1300 bill, I guess the going rate for HVAC service is $650 an hour :-) I do now have an invoice, which includes $0 in parts and less than 2 1/2 hours of labor on a job that's already problematic. Every single aspect of this experience has been not only unprofessional/underhanded, and a total disgrace. Oh yeah, and by the way, I've yet to get a call back on having this bill explained to me. read more

They cancelled my appointment for the fourth time this year. Every time they did it, they waited until a few minutes prior to the appointment time to call and cancel. They did it last summer three times for the AC service and they did it again today for the heating unit service. When I called them again today and asked to talk to a supervisor, they did the same thing they did before, which is to refuse to allow me to directly talk to a supervisor and instead they said someone will call me back in 12 hours. What kind of service is this when they cancel your appointment four times in one season? This shows their extreme level of unprofessionalism, unreliability, and lack of commitment. Today I was supposed to take my weak and elderly mother to the doctor but I had to stay home to wait for the Horizon technician. Then Horizon called and cancelled AGAIN!! I cannot put up with this any more. They need to understand the negative impact this repeated cancelation has on their customer. Maybe a legal action will wake them up. Today, I also wrote their owner/founder Dave Geiger a personal message. This is very frustrating and annoying to say the least. read more

We still have a giant piece of missing wall where the drywall needs to be replaced AND still have NO flooring whatsoever in the laundry room that they flooded!! Don't let them near your house!! The woman at the BBB advised me to contact my home owners insurance company to go after them and the state attorney generals office advised me to contact an attorney for punitive damages at this point! The lack of knowledge displayed by two different Horizon Services techs was honestly shocking. We were having an issue with our AC not kicking on and called Horizon to diagnose the problem. The first tech who came out was nice but seemed totally tired and confused. He looked at the unit and got it to kick back on but didn't give a reason for the issue other than offering for horizon to do a separate tune up because "the unit was kicking our air that was 'too cold'". We paid the fee for him to come out and he left. Later that evening it shut off again and stopped working. We called horizon to come back out to try and fix the issue. The second tech was even more inept than the first. He jump started the unit again and then offered to get us a quote on a new AC system. But was not able to diagnose a problem other than the unit was older. We called another local HVAC business that was recommended to us and they were able to diagnose a problem with the blower in about 5 minutes of LOOKING AT OUR UNIT!!!! It was nothing to do with the AC at all but the Horizon Service techs couldn't be bothered to even look. I don't know how they hire and train their staff but it's shocking the lack of knowledge or drive to fix things. Incredibly disappointing service and a ridiculous lack of knowledge displayed by Horizon Services. I will never trust them in my home again. read more

I called Horizon for a yearly AC Tune up which was scheduled for 7/10/23. There were no issues with the system prior to the tune up. Tech came out went through the entire heat pump system and the report showed that everything was in working order and no issues anywhere with the system. On 7/11/23 I went into the basement and found a major water leak coming from the unit. I checked the condensate pump which was in working order and not clogged. I shut the unit down and cleaned up the basement floor with a 12 gallon shop vac. I called Horizon to come and find out why the system was leaking water everywhere. Another tech came out 7/11/23 at night and found that the condensate drain line coupling broke. He offered to replace the drain line and did so. When he added water to the drain pan we noticed additional water was still leaking from the system. The fix is either to repair the drain pan which is a $3k job or opt for a new system which was quoted at $18k. Mind you there were no leaks or broken condensate drain lines prior to the AC Tune up. I have tried calling to talk to the service manager to resolve the issue but have not received a response. I should not be on the hook for the repair costs on a system that was working with no issues prior to the tune up and that the tune up report showed there were no problems with the system. 7/15/23 - It has been 5 days and still no response from the Service Manager read more

I am a longtime Horizon customer (over 20 years) and I have never had a bad experience with a technician. Today's visit was also stellar and this time's visit was by far the best. Mr Wright taught me things about my 3 year old system that had never been explained. He found that the humidifier which was installed during the last tuneup visit (a year ago) was not running since the water was never turned on! He also showed me that the humidifier requires a filter replacement every year (not needed this time since it never ran). Besides being knowledgeable, he was patient and very respectful of my home. Because of the long delay in getting a tuneup scheduled I was contemplating finding another company, but this visit reaffirmed my faith in getting exceptional service from Horizon. read more

I purchased a garbage disposal at Home Depot and they said they could install it for $209 which I thought was too much. So I checked out "ANGI" and they referred me to Horizon. When I called Horizon, I was told they couldn't/wouldn't give me a price over the phone. They also didn't offer me a free estimate. The agent I spoke with said there would be a $59 "DISPATCH FEE." So I was committed to paying this regardless of whether or not they serviced me. I should've realized this was a scam, but I put my trust in "ANGI" and told them to send out a service tech. When he arrived at my house he told me the "regular " price was $606 but he could give me a discounted price for $525. I told him this was still way too much. The final price he gave me was &400. I told him that Home Depot quoted me $200 over the phone which I thought was too much for a 30 minute job I saw a do it your selfer on YouTube. His cavalier, screw you response was Well you can go with Home Depot or fool around with it yourself. "I found a local handy man who did it for $100. The service technicians are hit or miss in terms of competence. Some are thorough and with some, one has to ask a lot of questions to get details. It would be nice if they were a bit more uniform in their interactions and work ethic too. Some use foot sleeves while some initially use it then stop after a few trips inside and out, which defeats the purpose. The call center folks start the call with a chirpy 'its great day at Horizon', however, I have had not so stellar experiences with discussing scheduling or issues with the front desk staff. I think some of the calls should be reviewed and some training imparted. read more

THREE STOOGES INSTALL AC UNITS. Read my tale and learn why you should avoid Horizon for any job. I know the AC unit in my just-purchased home may be on its last legs so I decide to proactively replace it before it fails. The sales person was good and personable. Seemed knowledgeable. That was the last one I encountered from Horizon who was. On installation, the guys began their process by cutting the outside wire to the security system. They tell me that they will send an employee to make the repair another day. Later on my phone follow-up, they told me that they couldn't do the repair and that I should hire someone and they would reimburse me. Like I trust that. After three phone calls and weeks of refusing their offer, I insisted to their customer service: You broke it so you fix it or hire someone to fix it. I shouldn't have to do more work because you messed up, and risk not getting reimbursed. Back to the install. Installers come and install the unit. They have to run an additional duct for airflow (this is important to the rest of the story). We discuss placement. He offers to place it in a room where there is already plenty of airflow. I ask his reasoning. We finally agree on a spot that could use the air flow. It takes most of the day but they complete the install. After they leave, I realize that part of the house gets a good flow of air, but the two back bedrooms are too warm...air flow is grossly uneven and doesn't make sense for one-floor air conditioning. I call customer service. They send a guy out. He looks and tells me it is the ductwork that is faulty. Why didn't I have a problem with the other unit? Why didn't anyone doing the original install say anything? I suggest that maybe, just maybe, they didn't hook everything up right. He leaves but unknowing to me, doesn't have the smarts to turn out the light in the attic on leaving. Days later I discover it on. Great attention to simple details. I place another call to Horizon. Another more skilled guy returns with this last guy. He tells me that they don't do ductwork (which of course they clearly do since he added an air flow duct) but since he is here, he will try to fix one or two of the problem feeds. I ask how did someone not say something or insist that it would be a problem. How can they install a unit and not ensure it will cool correctly? No reasonable answer. When he asks the first guy for a screwdriver, the other guy needs to run out to the truck to get one (apparently, who would think ahead that they would need some basic tools to make the adjustments). During his "repairs" I hear him telling the first guy "here's what they did wrong" over and over. A teaching moment I guess. On leaving, he tells me that he can't fix all of them or he would get yelled at by work. But they do tell me that they now do ductwork or any work they can get and tells me it would be over $1200. I consider the quality of the work done thus far and tell them I'll think about it. Boy, will I think about it. I call customer service and am told that I will get a call back same day, reminding them of the security camera situation. 36 hours later I call again and they explain that the lady handling my situation and her backup are both out and how unusual that is. They have to order a new camera to match the one with the wire they cut. A week or so later, they schedule a guy to replace the security camera. Apparently, they cut the line at a place where they can't repair. He comes, but waits over an hour for another guy because he didn't bring an extension ladder to reach the second-floor location where it was mounted. The power of using logic to plan ahead for likely situations or even leaving instructions for the next guy. Horizon calls to ask me about the service. I tell the customer service lady I have been dealing with everything. She's surprised at what I say. Tells me she will check into it more. And so I wait to hear back. And ....don;'t. So I call on a Friday. I call on the following Tuesday. They are really good at knowing my name and address from the caller id, but not so good at returning calls. I wanted to wait just a bit until I post this review and hoped that they would do something, anything, to appear to be a responsible organization that was worth the money I spent. They are the furthest thing from that. Don't use Horizon. Two weeks later, after "Sandy the Customer service person" told me she was following up, no call back after repeated calls to her. So I called the customer service line and got someone who doesn;t even know who works in customer service and can;t connect me. He suggests that I don;t hav ethe right name, and her name isn;t associated with my account calls....even though I talked to her. Be afriad. Be very very afraid. Still working to get it all worked out. read more

Horizon has fast service, but the overcharging and upselling is out of control and unethical. We had a failed capacitor in the blower on our furnace. They misrepresented the cost of the replacement part, charging $430 for a $10 capacitor quickly found on Amazon and other parts stores (on top of the $89 fee for the visit). Fair enough that some of the costs was the techs time, but a flat rate to replace a part that was quickly exchanged, certainly left us feeling cheated. In addition, every time they visit they also suggest that the lower cost fix may not hold and that the whole system should be replaced at a $10K or so cost depending on options. Yes, the tech suggested we replace the entire furnace that was less than 10 years old. read more

I have an important question. I lost my sense of smell with Covid. Unbeknownst to me ,I had a gas leak from a stove burner for over two weeks in my home. It had to of been the dog trying to get something off the back burner. When my son came and discovered it, he opened the windows and then he could smell it outside. My son was a second person to tell me there was a gas smell in my house. It was 90° here for several days/weeks. I had the AC going 24/7. Do you think that the AC was helping to filter out the gas? And that is why I did not have any issues? My dog didn't either. read more

I moved into my home in June. It is a 55+ prefab home, which I am finding out is completely different from a brick home. I called Horizon because I happened to need AC repair and plumbing at same time. AC tech was very nice, helpful, and efficient. He added a discount to my bill without me having to ask for it and it was very reasonable. Then the plumbers came. All I really needed was a d/w hookup and a vent for odor under my sink because I don't have an outside vent. My son installed my new faucet and all new pipe but did not have the split pipe needed for the d/w. Techs did the repairs and left. Shortly after that I started having back up water in the sink all the time. Just a coincidence I'm sure. I called them out again, They started to snake the drain but asked if they could look under the house. When he came out he said my pipes were sagging so the water was not going out on the right angle, He left me an estimate for replacing all the pipe under the house for $2500.00. I talked to my three sons about it and they said they would check it out. One came over Saturday and went under the house. He did not have any tools or repair material so he found a cinder block there and put it under the sag. Guess what, no more back up in the sink. He will come back with proper materials and support the pipe to the under house. Horizon was charging me $2500 for a job that will cost maybe $100?? And they charged me almost $300 for the original sink job. The description of the things they said they did were not even done, They gave me a refund of $87.00 when I called and mentioned this. Now, my sons are not registered plumbers but know their way around plumbing, electrical, etc. because they have been taught it their whole life by their father who was self-taught, which a lot of men are. Bottom line is they were going to charge me $2500 for a job that does not need to be done. read more

Our heating system blew out on a Friday night. We called Horizon (because they were the only ones open) and had someone come out the next day to take a look. He said it wasn't fixable (which was true, and we expected), and that since they don't manufacture these kinds of units anymore (NOT true), we'd be looking at $6000-$8000 to replace. When the next guy came out to give an estimate, somehow it became $11,900. BUT - he'd knock it down to an even $10,000 - IF we took the next available appointment. This is an 1820 sq foot townhome. Not a mansion. Not a large commercial building. Got a second estimate from a small outfit recommended by our HOA president. $2,500. I wish I could capitalize numbers. This man came into our home, saw me and my two year old twins bundled up indoors on a cold January morning, and decided to try to take us for $7,500. Unbelievable. Don't fall for it. read more

Jason inspected our furnace. Told me it was literally falling apart. $8000 to $10,000 for a new one. Got Horizon's sales department on the phone and expected me to set an appt. right away. I set it for almost 2 weeks later. Thank goodness I put it off! I had a neighbor recommended HVAC contractor come out. After spending 2 hours checking the furnace, he determined that our furnace was perfectly fine! The Horizon rep also broke our thermostat. After telling me he was using all of the coupons and discounts he could, he installed a CHEAP basic thermostat (that you can buy for $28 at Home Depot) and charged me $300! He put a ROUND thermostat in place of the RECTANGULAR one. Now, I have to wait (and waste more time) for Horizon to come and assess the damage to the wall. I am thoroughly disgusted with Horizon Services! If you think of using them (which I won't), make sure you get other estimates!! read more

I had a technician from Horizon come over for ac repair. For $89 diagnosis he said that the blower needs to be replaced and quoted $1900 and negotiated down to $1300. He had to order the replacement and the ETA was the next day. It never arrived even after a week. Innumerable calls- asking for a supervisor or manager- no one speaks to you. I went over to their office in Audubon, but no manager wants to meet with me. They say a manager will call back within 2 hrs, but no one calls back. After 7 very hot days, I decide to call in another company- New Energy Solutions. The technician takes one look and says the motor is fine and that the fan has slipped from the shaft due to a loose nut. In 10 minutes flat the ac was up and running. Not sure if it was a wrong diagnosis or a scam- but the worst thing was how unresponsive the company was. As if to assuage me they say I am not the alone but many customers was waiting for parts for more than a week and some even for a month. Really wonder how such a company is still in business. I believe I am posting this review ( first review in my life) as a public service! read more

Worst customer service, worst scheduling, worst care or concern about customers. Techs are typically good but everything else is awful. They cancel appointments last minute whenever they feel like it, they have no availability for tune ups to ensure that regular maintenance calls turn into repairs (more money for Horizon), their phone reps are programmed and in no way trained to deal with anything that doesn't follow the script they've been given. I've NEVER had a good experience with Horizon except with the techs. Can't wait to switch to another company!! read more

IF THEY CLAIM YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, GET A SECOND OPINION!!!! They are scamming you!! Horizon's initial cheap fees and super friendly associates are only part of the eventual scam to convince you that you need a huge repair that you don't actually need. I'm so disgusted by this company and their business practices. This review is for the sewer drain cleaning but it is evident they run the same/similar type of scam through each department. A few weeks after moving into our new house the sewer line was backed up. I called a recommended plumber, he informed me he doesn't do sewer drain cleaning and recommended I research a good company and "WORST CASE" call roto-rooter or horizon. He then deliberately paused and slowly said... "IF THEY FIND A PROBLEM MAKE SURE YOU GET A SECOND OPINION." I was super thrown off when he said this but chose to ignore him. So I researched and horizon has good(fake) reviews on google. They come out the next day, on time, super polite, only cost $99, and have a one-year-clear warranty! Great right!? (This is the point that most people leave the 5 star reviews) Well, what do you know... my sewer line backs up again in just TWO short weeks!?Thank god I had that "warranty" and there MUST be something wrong with the sewer pipe!!?? Horizon does the second drain cleaning then I have to set up a separate "free" camera line search with another employee.(I learned later this is a separate appointment because these guys with the cameras are the top performers/sales reps/scammers of the company) Sigh, another day to take off work, but it's free so ok. Two days later the camera guy shows up. He did his thing and brings the price quote to me. He tells me my sewer line isn't cracked, it isn't sagging, and it doesn't have roots growing through it. But he claims it is "old" and thinks I need a fancy pipe lining which will basically reinforce the pipe so it doesn't eventually crack... Ok, so I ask how much. He quotes me $18,000!! And then this piece of sh*t scammer tells me he just had a spot open up tomorrow and if I sign the paperwork now to book, he'll give me 25% off my appointment! So it will only be $13k! SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM. Anybody smell a scam? SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM Next, I of course, ask to see the video which he doesn't have... but he'll put the line back in for me because "he didn't think I'd want to see the video" of my $18,000 sewer line that isn't broken, cracked, or sagging but for some weird reason clogged up again after only 2 weeks??? Guys... remember plumber guy from the beginning of the story that got all serious about getting a second opinion!? Sh*t he was RIGHT. He was basically telling me a company like horizon and roto-rooters are scams and I AM TELLING YOU RIGHT NOW THEY ARE A DISGUSTING SHADY SCAM. Do yourself a favor and save the time, hassle, and anxiety that you might have some major repair or problem with your house and hire a locally recommended company. Stay away from greed scammers like Horizon. I have since had another company come out and run a camera inspection ON THE SPOT with me standing RIGHT next to them. They showed me absolutely nothing was wrong with my line leading to my house. They then suggested a different method of cleaning the line. They also showed me everything that horizon missed and intentionally neglected so that my line would back up again. It has been 4 months and nothing has backed up again. So weird that after horizon came out it backed up again in less than two weeks!??? I'm so disgusted by this company and it's disgusting morally corrupt employees. read more
