Smelled gas at base of water heater and PECO arrived and stated I had bad control valve on my hot water heater using their electronic gas detector. Water heater is 4 years old and is under warranty for 6 years. Paid 325 for Steve to replace the control valve, and the replacement was also faulty and leaking gas. Steve stated I should call PECO again (I could smell gas myself from the exact same spot as the first control valve). No reasonable solution was offered other than replacing the whole tank at my expense. Also recommended furnace company who charged my credit card before even setting foot in my house and doing any work and without an invoice. Essentially were being pre-paid for work they had not done yet. Would not recommend. read more

Don't make my mistake, call Steve FIRST! I got taken advantage of by another installer putting in an AO Smith 80 gallon that couldn't output 25 gallons of hot water. Steve supported with my efforts to have AO Smith repair/replace and when AO Smith refused to help Steve ripped the old unit out and got me better Bradford White unit on my schedule. Not only that but Steve/Jeff were there every step of of the way to help me with the technical wording of what went wrong with the unit so I could get a refund from AO Smith and the other installer. I'm surprised to see the one star reviews as I have had two good experiences with this company. The first was a water heater replacement. I contacted 11 plumbers that specialize in water heaters and Steve was the most affordable (the highest quote was about $2000 more). They (I believe his son and daughter) were here before the allotted time, very courteous, respectful, and completed the job in less than two hours. Same with the second time I used them to install two toilet bowls. There were some delays in communication this time around but overall I would use them again. read more

Not very happy. Water Heater Express installed my Water Heater and 3 months later it stopped working. Steve was unable to troubleshoot it over FaceTime and said he will call Rheem Tech Support and call me the next day. Never called! I left 3 more messages and no Steve! Finally after I hired another company, Steve sent me a text "he can't help me" ??? Now 4 days without hot water, the a new company came out the next day but they need to order the parts. We are 5 days before Thanksgivings and no hot water. Water Heater Express can take your $2,000 and install a water heater, but don't expect any service afterwards, you're on your own. read more

Three stars only because I appreciate having hot water again. Took off work to sit and wait for my time frame as agreed at 8 am. No show or call until I reached out and then advised a later time. The cost was over 100 more than quoted on the phone 75 for the call and 45 for the part. The bill my husband paid was for 274. The communication with times and price were not to my liking I will not use again. I am now looking for someone else for a major repair in my home that shows or calls when scheduled and charges the price or close to the price quoted. read more

bad buisness practice. the price i agreed to prior to job was 500.00 more after install. you will be charged 5% extra for using charge card as well as additional 6% state tax on item . none of these additional costs discussed prior to install. the first water heater i received was damaged and had to fight to get a undamaged water heater brought in. i was told "it is only cosmetic' and encouraged to just to use the damaged item. i felt pressured to utiize damaged product. praying i have no issues with install! total cost for 50 gallon tank 1541.00 cost of tank 700.00 at lowes. read more

Sunday morning after attending online Church service, I noticed that the water coming out of the faucets was taking longer than usual to get hot. To my dismay around 2pm, I discovered that my hot water tank was leaking water from the bottom. This started a frantic search online for a plumber that was available to come out the next day and one that was reasonably priced. Water Heater Express satisfied both criteria. Steve responded quickly and completed the job, but he low-balls the estimate by about 50%. So if he estimates $1,000, expect to pay $1,500. He also nickel-and-dimes you for extra stuff - like a pressure gauge and leak sensor, that he charges 3X for. You can just buy these on Amazon - they don't need any installation. If he was just honest at the beginning and didn't rip you off with the small stuff, he'd be a pretty good service. read more

DO NOT USE THIS PROVIDER!!!! They came on Friday and never finished the job as scheduled. They told me they would be coming on Monday to finish it. On Monday they NEVER CAME and I had to try getting in touch countless times before even getting a response - which was only to say they would be coming the next day and they didn't get back to me until 4 when they were suppossed to be here at 10. The next day, THEY NEVER SHOWED UP AGAIN. I had to reach out all day repeatedly and threaten to get my lawyer involved before they even bothered to respond to me. Now this morning they were supposed to be here at 8, it is now 10 and I can't get in touch with them and haven't heard from them at all. THIS MORNING THEY DIDNT SHOW UP FOR THE THIRD DAY IN A ROW. STEVE - the owner I had been coordinating with has since blocked my number so I can't reach him and now my house is a DISASTER and I'm hosting Thanksgiving tomorrow. They demod part of my wall, disconnected my washer and dryer and left it in my entry way, used ALL of my towels and just left them on the floor along with everything else and never came back! I wasn't even able to wash my clothes for work this week bc my washer and dryer haven't been hooked up since Friday and it is now Wednesday - The day before Thanksgiving. This is the single worst experience I have ever had with a business. They are dishonest, unreliable, and do not communicate. Last but no least, they also do not finish the jobs they are paid to do. Years ago, Steve quickly and professionally replaced my hot water heater within 24 hours. Yesterday I heard the water sensor he provided go off....Steve talked me through the trouble shooting process. My tank cracked, was leaking and therefore I needed a new on. My heat went out during the first cold streak of the year. I called Steve and he sent one of his guys - Gamal - out on a Sunday to fix it. Worked for a couple days then the same thing happened again 4 days later. He offered to come out on Thanksgiving morning (at no extra charge) to fix the problem! I called Steve in the morning, completely panicking that our hot water heater had broken and was in the process of flooding our basement. Over the phone, Steve told me where to turn off the water valve and told me he would be out within a couple of hours to install a new unit. Steve was running a bit behind schedule and called to tell me his new ETA. I was really happy that he kept the lines of communication open. The price quoted for the job was $1495 but the gas line had been installed incorrectly by the builder so that had to be fixed. He also suggested adding a pan underneath the new heater. The job ended up costing $500 over what we were quoted but, obviously, if something needs to be fixed, I want it done right. I did not feel that he was trying to "sell" me additional items. I think he just wanted to do the job properly. My husband watched them completing the job and everything Steve said made sense to us. Steve recommended that we purchase a couple of things (like a water censor) and a couple other things to prevent this from happening in the future. I would definitely use Water Heater Express and highly recommend this company. read more

Our hot water heater gave out about 2 weeks ago and the landlord sent over Steve Manno from Water Heater Express to disconnect, drain, and remove our old one before bringing a new one down our twisty trinity stairs. He was really great! He called me before he came and got the specs, he came on time, he got the job done quickly, and he was really fun to talk to while he worked! I live in MA, and my grandmother lives alone in PA. The night before Thanksgiving, my grandmother called to say her boiler broke and there was water everywhere. I called Steve, and he was there to help her within 2 hrs! It wasn't anything to do with the heater, either. It was a broken pipe which he promptly fixed. They called before coming out to get the specs and on installation day, it was installed in about 2 1/2 hours. Jeff, the installer was very professional and when he finished, the place was so clean, you couldn't tell I had any work done. Went through Home Advisor to find a plumber to install a Pressure Release Valve on my water heater. I had the part, which I purchased at Home Depot for $13, however couldn't get the old one off my water heater. These guys called and agreed to install my valve at a price of $85. They also found I needed a new expansion tank and charged me $175 for what costs $50. They also installed a new pvc pipe coming from the pressure release value which they charged me $25. (Costs maybe $5 at the most) In the end, the parts cost Water Heater Express about $60, I got charged $305!!! You do the math! Shop around, find better pricing because these guys will charge you the most they can!!! read more

If you're looking to get ripped off then water heater express is for you. Not only will they courteously charge you extra for things they break, but will tell you that it's needed and that they fixed it as a courtesy... I contacted them to replaced my water heater for a quote of about $800, but ended up paying around $1250 after they claimed my PRV valve needed to be replaced for an extra $350, but something broke during the install and they claim it was not the fault of the installer even though everything was running fine before they tried to install the PRV valve then charged me an extra $90 for a part they broke stating it was because the part was old, even though it was fine before they did the work. I go into a heated argument with the owner and he was yelling at me trying to explain the reason why I was to pay extra and refuse to admit fault. Please do yourself a favor and fine another plumber/water heater/service. These guys will take you for every dime you have! read more
