This has become a normal lunch spot for me and my co-workers and great for happy hour too. It's a nice, local place to hang out and get some decent food. I've had half the menu at lunch, from wings, burgers, street tacos, fish and chips, and caesar salad but the Buffalo macaroni and cheese and monster French dip are my favorites. For happy hour, my go to items are the rib tips and mozzarella sticks, paired with whatever recommended beer of the day or a margarita. The service is always friendly, even when they are busy. So glad I found this place and so close to my new place...came in here last night to get out of heat and this place keeps it nice and cool. This place would be great to watch any sporting event. They have TV's everywhere and from any seat is a good seat. Once seated my super friendly waitress Maddie was awesome. She was Johnny on the spot with everything made this a great experience. Their menu is upscale bar food with tons of great choices. For dinner I had the triple threat chicken sandwich which consisted of bringing the heat 3 ways with chipotle mayo, pepper Jack cheese and Cajun fried chicken breast. Topped with frizzled onions, pickles, lettuce, tomato and bacon. Served on a kaiser bun. Served with crispy perfectly seasoned fries. This was a great sandwich and wasn't that spicy at all. I would've actually preferred a little burn but either way was super delicious! I washed this down with their house margarita which had good flavor but a I would've liked it a little more stronger. Was up in Broomfield at A Loft for a WCS dance weekend and walked up to Hops n Drops for some dinnertime sustenance. My group and I were greeted and sat at a front booth fairly quickly. Our server was friendly and happy to answer all the dietary questions that were directed her way, she even went back to the kitchen to ask the chef if a certain item was GF. I ordered a Deluxe Burger with Hops n Drops chips and a Hops n Drops Amber from their icy cold taps. I didn't actually get to see the ice covered taps but can tell you my beer was nice and cold. The burger on the other hand was dry and overcooked. Not a good combination when you have your cap set for a big, juicy burger. And the HnD chips I probably wouldn't order again. Went here on a Friday evening around 5:30pm and was sat immediately, however, shortly after a line was forming at the door. Literally everything on their menu (drinks and food) sounded delicious and thus making a decision was REALLY hard. We started with the spiked root beer and a huckleberry Siberian mule and both were so fun and delicious! We then shared the Hawaiian Siracha shrimp appetizer and both got the rise and shine grilled cheese with a side of Mac and cheese for one and chowder for the other. Everything was super tasty, to me, the grilled cheese was more like a breakfast sandwich than a grilled cheese (which is totally fine, just something of note!) It was a lot of food, neither of us could finish the whole which. As a newer establishment, Hops n Drops feels like a fresh and clean neighborhood gem. There's not many food options in the nearby vicinity, so it feels more local and less chain-y. I visited on a Sunday night with a buddy to get some grub and watch some football. There's a plethora of TVs so no matter where you're sitting you're never too far from a screen, although some tables have much better views than others. It was neither dead nor popping' -- there was a fair amount of people and chatter. Service was so-so. Our waitress was super sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. Took a good amount of time to order and get what we needed. Though they do make the food fresh so that factored into the wait times. She seemed to have a local chatting her ear off for a long time and neglected tables like ours as a result. She sort of made up for it giving us some free sour patch shooters (aka drops) in "glasses" made of ice (though my glass had a little hole in it so it was quite sticky and messy). They tasted like liquid jolly ranchers, definitely need to suck them down quickly before they melt. As for the food, though it definitely has that "from scratch vibe," my street tacos were disappointing and honestly not any better than I could whip up at home. The carnitas was pretty meh, and overall they were kind of dry and bland. They included cheddar & pepper jack shredded cheese, bits of onions, corn tortillas, lime wedges, sour cream -- hold the cilantro -- and a side of chips, guac, and salsa. They forgot silverware and the limes so had to wait a bit for those as the tacos got cold. There's a good selection of draft beer, wine, and cocktails, so I would certainly come back for a drink and a good chat, but would probably skip the food given how underwhelming it was. read more

If possible, this would be a 4.5. The restaurant is great. Friendly and open with a friendly staff and quick service. Several TVs are visible from all tables and they have a nice and shady patio. The burgers are great. We had the jalapeno with bacon and chipotle mayo and the cream cheese jalapeno, served on Texas toast. Both were cooked well and really tasty. Add to that a nice selection of beer and you are near perfection. Then came my only issue...I ordered tots because I love them. Unfortunately, they are served entirely too salty. My husband and I both got burgers and they were tasty! The prices were just a little high for what you get. I also got a flavored lemonade which was so sweet I couldn't drink it. Came here tonight to watch the nuggets play and we had possibly the best service. Jackson (our waiter) super nice guy who would constantly check in on us. Plus his recommendations and making sure our drinks and quality in food was fantastic. I have to say, he was very funny too. Made us laugh a lot and the food was good too. Couple of things. The BBQ flatbread pizza we had was good; probably the highlight of my visit. The margarita I had was hard to get through as it was cloyingly sweet. I probably wouldn't recommend this unless that's how you like your cocktails. It tasted like they used a pre packaged mixer rather than making it from scratch. Not my thing. And lastly they have a fairly decent craft beer list and then proceed to serve those beers in chilled glasses. The horror. In case you didn't know a chill glass takes away from the flavor and aroma of a beer. For something like bud light it is actually nice because that tastes like butt anyways so it actually makes it palatable; but for a craft beer, you aren't getting the full experience of how it was intended to be drank. For the burbs I would probably come back and just make sure to ask for a room temp glass for beer and stay away from the cocktails. But we went like last year (I know I'm super behind on this review) and I wasn't in a hurry to go again. The burgers here are large, filling, and delicious! They have a delicious cocktail menu, some of which taste like yummy, gummy bears, and the salad dressing which they make in house is the best ranch I've ever had in my life! I only wish I could purchase their salad dressing and their icicle glass cocktails were a bit more voluminous. The chips they make in house (we ordered a side) are on the dry side and were burnt tasting. I'm giving 4 stars because they are quite pricey. read more

My friend and I were very disappointed with our food orders. The "chicken" in both of our dishes was absolutely disgusting. We questioned whether it was even chicken. Hers was in a wrap and was rubbery. Mine was in the form of chicken fingers, and one of the pieces was completely inedible. It was gristle/fatty/rubbery. Had a team lunch here yesterday and it was really pretty darn good stuff. We had been here the end of last year for our holiday cocktails. I think it was the same guy that waited on us last time. Very helpful and nice. I had the Jalapeño Cream Cheese Burger. Of course. I knew it was going to be messy but I was prepared. It was really tasty. The jalapeño that came on it was good, but no heat. After looking at some apartments nearby for my boyfriends upcoming move, he told me we should check out this place. He's been here a few times, and said the place was pretty good. We went straight to the bar, found a couple seats, and were promptly greeted my a bartender who gave us his name. He then took a coaster, asked our names, wrote it on one side of the coaster, and then put his (and another bartender's) name on the other side, folded it (making it into a little name "tent" plate) so everyone could be on a first name basis. I thought this was a genus idea! I then asked the bartender if a coupon for a free beer, which I picked up at one of the apartment leasing offices, was valid. Not only was it valid, but he asked if I had another one, which I did, and he let us use them both, even for my cider. It was Happy Hour while we visited, and I really wanted to try their Tempura Pickles, but I didn't see them on the HH Menu. I asked the bartender just to check, and he said they actually were on the HH menu. I'm very glad since they were amazing. They are breaded in house, and the breading is FANTASTIC! Be warned though, they are extremely filling. Every employee we came into contact with was beyond nice. I don't think I've ever felt so taken care of. I can't wait for my next visit!! read more

Hops n Drops really fits the mold for what constitutes an "A-OK" restaurant. I stopped by the restaurant recently with a couple of friends after looking for a new restaurant to try in the Broomfield area. From the outside the restaurant really blends into the background, especially as it's largely overshadowed by its neighboring Starbucks location. I didn't realize at the time I'd made plans with my friends, but they had already been to Hops n Drops, at Happy Hour. Their ultimate conclusion was, "It's not a bad option... at Happy Hour." I wasn't really sure what to make of that, until I realized that on a Saturday afternoon at peak times, only 3 other groups besides ours were present inside the restaurant. The drink menu is decent, and they have a good number of Beers available, but generally stay away from the Drops & Mixed Drinks. The concept of a Drop seems like it could be interesting (Popsicle/ alcoholic beverage mixed together, right?) but it doesn't live up to the hype, and generally just leaves the menus in a perpetually sticky state (literally all 3 of our menus were sticky). The food is just fine. My sandwich didn't leave anything to be desired, but also was not going to win any awards. In general, I walked away from the meal thinking, "well... it wasn't bad." The problem that manifests is that "not bad" doesn't hold up in an area like the Denver Metro area where there are truly good options. In essence, I'll say that you probably won't have a bad experience at Hops n Drops. Reasonably priced food, good options for drinks and a casual atmosphere make for a nice hangout experience. Just be prepared to wash your hands after handling the menus. read more

I don't know how you can make a jalapeño cream burger bland. Seems like all the burgers we had were underwhelming and tasteless. The jalapeños cream cheese burger was overloaded with cream cheese. Bad service, bad burger. I ordered a plain cheeseburger on gluten free bun. I specified I wanted it medium rare. Service was very slow. When the server brought our burgers, mine was well done, and the chips were soaked in oil. The server never came to check on us, ask us how our meal was. Twenty minutes later, we had to flag him down to ask for our checks. Over ten mins went by and I had to go ask another server if she could find our server because we needed to pay and leave.
