Absolutely amazed by this place! The food, service, and atmosphere all went beyond my expectations and I'm already spreading the word to anyone I know that's local. This place will not disappoint! Went on a busy Sat morning and only had to wait about 20mn for a table. The outdoor seating area is gorgeous and adequately covered with umbrellas. This is my first time at one of their 3 locations and I would recommend it. Make sure you make a reservation at least a few days in advance to the the time and location (indoor or outdoor) that you desire. The space is very open and airy. The service was timely and very kind. Just make sure you're not planning on staying for longer than 90 minutes because you will get booted from your table. The food was very good! Portions were excellent and the ingredients tasted very fresh and full of flavor. Parking lot next to business. read more

I don't ordinarily like to leave negative reviews, but there wasn't much to order. We couldn't find much on the menu that we wanted to order for breakfast, like omelets, pancakes, etc. I ordered country fried steak and eggs, OK. My wife ordered a salmon toast that she didn't like and then wanted to have something sweet, like a muffin or danish, those are not on the menu. Finally, the only thing they had was a platter of mini donuts with a dish of melted chocolate, meant for sharing at a table of 6-8? We tried them and left 10 or so on the table, as they weren't that good. The Stanley thermos of coffee on the table was cute, but the bill was 2 times a Perkins, Key's, Al's, or other normal breakfast. The beverage menu was Hugh, anything you might want is available. The restaurant was full? Maybe they were just here for the beverages? Look at the menu before you go, maybe you will find something you like. read more

Good but.... Food and drinks were very good. Had intended to get the chicken with dressing waffle, but was told that I could not get just white meet. Maybe I should have just got it and set the dark meat aside as I'm sure it was huge (all the dishes were a bit too big) - oh well. Might have been disappointed anyway as other chicken dishes referred to brining, which can be way too salty if not done right. Had the tostada egg dish which was "good". Could have used a bit more flavor/heat, but the hot sauce on the table helped. Bloody Mary was OK - limited number of garnishes for the price (set the meat stick aside - yuck). I know they just opened, but Brian has two other locations, so there shouldn't be any growing pains. They had no cinnamon rolls or caramel rolls at this location, even though it was on the menu. I asked for a teaspoon of their sausage gravy to taste to help me decide if I wanted their biscuit and gravy, and was refused, saying their kitchen doesn't allow that. And the sausage gravy barely covered the biscuit. See picture. They charge $6 for a cup of plain coffee. Asked for jelly other that grape. They served us grape Ordered their overnight oatmeal that their menu said comes cold. It was, right out of the refrigerator. Asked for it to be warmed up in a microwave. They don't have a microwave. The prices include a 4% charge for the employees' benefits as stated on the bill. I won't be back. There are a lot of other choices. And it was so noisy it was difficult to talk/listen. read more

If I could give this a -4 I would. We got there and sat at our table for 10/15 min before someone came over. She took our order and the food came out fast however, it was semi warm and mediocre. The grits were not cheesy. I had the breakfast tostada which was just a can of beans, raw peppers, canned salsa and a fried egg. My husband had a breakfast sandwich which was decent. After looking at the menu online, we were pretty excited to check out this place. The first thing we noticed was how loud the place was. Sadly, this trend isn't limited to Hope. There are too many places that default to blank walls and concrete floors. Our first issue was when, as the menu suggested, we asked what was on the tap list. Turns out there isn't anything on tap. Beer choice was Surly Furious or Surly Hell. Phew! The coffee drinks were great and the breakfast sandwiches were tasty, though damned near impossible to eat with your hands. The blackened cauliflower, though not blackened, was ok. On the other hand. Pork Belly and Biscuit got raves. I found the Mary Joe was pretty good as well. After we paid our tab we were chatting, after receiving some to go coffee orders, the hostess came over to ask if our server had brought us our bill. This was such a poorly veiled tactic to get us to vacate the table, it ruined the entire visit. We rarely get together with our adult children, this was a truly rude intrusion to end our time with them. So, while the food was decent, after being pushed out of the place, the hostess succeeded in removing this place from our list for brunch. read more

While I am certainly not the first reviewer and likely not the last, I do want to add my experience at Hope Breakfast Bar in Eagan. This is their newest location and while I was skeptical of the strip mall locale, I can't say enough about the EXCEPTIONAL job they've done to make the dining environment feel inviting and comfortable! Our reservation was for 7am (HINT: Reservations fill quickly) and we were seated on the patio. The plants, umbrellas, table arrangement, etc., all worked so well together to completely remove any perception that we were located just feet from the parking lot in a small strip mall! The Hope menu is quite varied, and they even offer some items not available at the other Hope locations. The food itself, was excellent with a special BRAVO to the hash browns! My McHope Breakfast Sandwich along with my bottomless cup of coffee was just the right amount, my wife found her Breakfast Tostada and Lavender Latte to be more than generous. We both agreed that on our next visit - which will be very soon - we would try the sweeter side of their breakfast offerings. Our waitress was quick, very friendly, and frequently checked in with us. We have previously visited the Hope Breakfast Bar in St Paul, which we dearly love, but we know we will be back to our local Eagan spot very soon! Five stars all around, Hope! read more

Made a noon reservation for 2 on a Thursday, on this particular day they were also accommodating walk-ins. Atmosphere is spacious, but can be a bit noisy for those with hearing difficulties. Service was impeccable as was the food. This was my first time at one of the Hope BB locations, I went for a traditional waffle which was covered with fresh berries. Visually beautiful and yummy. My lunch companion tried the Hawaiian bowl and really enjoyed the flavors. Definitely two thumbs up! read more

I've been to the St Paul location a couple times and loved it. This was almost a letdown. The food was mostly unseasoned and begged for more salt. The service was insanely fast though! We asked for a side of bacon and it came out in literally 30 seconds - incredible!! The Eagan location is very cute as is the main STP one too. This was my first time at this location of Hope and I have previously had nothing but good experiences at the St. Paul location. However, after suggesting this location and making a reservation for brunch a week ahead of time to meet with two friends to catch up after two years of not seeing one another, I am extremely disappointed. We arrived at the time of our reservation. There was no host so we waited until he came to the stand and was available after another customer jumped in front of us to get his name on a list and was served first. Then we were seated. (Our server was wonderful and attentive.) we then ordered and our food arrived so fast that I was concerned how it could be prepared so quickly! Good prep I thought? Then went to eat my food that was supposed to be farm fresh vegetables with a fried egg. It was so drenched in oil I could barely eat any. I just chose not to say anything as my friends orders were good and I didn't think this was typical. At exactly one hour after our reservation time, the host came to the table and in a rushed voice said -how is everything just to let you know we have another reservation for this table and they are here now so...and walked away! Service was good, but a little confusing, we had a number of different servers?... However, they all did a good job. We sat outside and the ambiance was wonderful, flowers were beautiful. It was very noisy and the waitress said that we could wait 20 minutes for a table (even though lots were available) or have a seat at the bar. We chose the bar and both ordered the Hope breakfast. We watched as our "eggs over" sat in the pan an extra 5-10 minutes. The eggs were way over-cooked, the toast was floppy and grease soaked and the home fries were white and grease soaked. The home fries on the grill looked great and were browned nicely, but the ones on our plate, not so much. The bacon was excellent. It's usually difficult to screw up a breakfast but somehow they managed to do it with 3 out of 4 things on our plates. The first time I was here, we were told we had to move indoors. I arrived after my dining companion and sat for 10 minutes without seeing a server. We moved inside and upon ordering I was informed that they will not make egg whites which is disappointing considering this is a breakfast place. My husband and I went back and knowing I couldn't get egg whites, I opted for the hash browns, which are very good, and a cinnamon roll. They were out of cinnamon and caramel rolls at 11 am. I ended up with scrambled eggs as part of the Hope breakfast, of which I ate less than half of. The toast was inedible. Our server disappeared and never offered to refill my beverage. I ate most of my meal with nothing to drink. It's loud in the restaurant so it's hard to talk without shouting at each other. I'm very irritated by the 4% automatic charge on the bill to provide the employees a living wage. It's the owners responsibility to provide a living wage to their employees! Almost $50 for breakfast that wasn't great, other than the hash browns, and service that also wasn't that great means we won't be back. read more

Loved my first visit to Hope's! It was so hard to pick something from the menu, since there were so many good looking options! I got the banana churro waffles, which were amazing! It was VERY sweet, so I'd recommend splitting it with a savory dish or ordering a side of bacon. I did order a side of bacon, and it was amazing! The coffee cup was really small and we were never offered refills. The bathrooms were also really awkward. They are one-person doors so a very tight fit with children. You wash your hands outside the bathroom right in front of other people eating. We will not be coming back. read more

We came to HBB on the Saturday morning after Christmas. We called to get a reservation and they were booked up after 8:00 so we took that early time. This should be a good sign, right? The space is great. They have seating for -100 and the atmosphere is a good vibe. The service was solid and our food came quickly after we ordered. The 2 star review falls on the food. We ordered the breakfast sandwich, Bacon Tacos and the Pimento Cheese Eggs. The sandwich was huge, dry and bland. The bacon tacos were packed heavy with mushy hash browns and a big dollop of guacamole on each one. They were large, starchy and bland. The pimento cheese eggs were ok. The theme with the food is large portions with little flavor. The cure egg salt and pepper shakers don't make up for food prepared with the right seasoning. We ordered lattes and they were very good. We did not order any of the pancakes which looked great on the menu descriptions. If we give this place another try I would order off that part of the menu. The challenge is they have big letters on the wall "Believe in Breakfast" and if you are going to make that statement, you have to back it up. There were 3 of us and we had 3 breakfast dishes and 2 lattes and tip was $70. Restaurants are too expensive these days to come out the door with weak food. Went to their website before going to brunch early in the morning today. Site says open at 7, so we get there at 7:10. I drive up to the spot in front of the door and they are taping over the 7 and changing it to 8. They apparently now open at 8, and don't bother to update the website or door before, to update customers of the change. I had my little kids with me and got them out of the car by the time they informed me that they just decided to change the opening time without any change or notice on the site to inform customers. Literally was writing the number 8 as I was pulling up. Extremely frustrating and annoying, and might I add TACKY. You could've planned the change in advance and made the update on your site and door prior to the day of the change. Do better. It's embarrassing and as I said before TACKY. read more

The person then assigned to us, we believe was the bartender/barista. We saw him maybe 2 times and both time he rolled his eyes when we asked a question: One being if they had a children's menu.
