Went for dinner and we were excited. We got in and seated ourselves. We were greeted once we sat. Our server was friendly and warm. We got the poke nachos which seemed to be popular but we felt it was more chips than anything else. Very little poke, avocado and sauce. The presentation was nice. We got a mushroom swiss burger and ordered it medium and it came out closer to well down. A lot of produce for a mushroom Swiss burger. It was missing something but flavorful. We also had a filet melt which was more cheese than anything else. It was like they were masking for the lack of steak. It seemed more like a grilled cheese sandwich than a steak sandwich. We got onion rings and they were beer battered and right on par. We both got bbq sauce and ranch for dipping. Bbq sauce was really good but the ranch seemed like it was store bought. The ketchup was not good at all. Fancy brand ketchup used and for that price point, somewhat disappointing. The beer selection is good but our beer was not cold when it arrived to our table. We didn't know they charge for bbq sauce and ranch so be careful when ordering and they also charged a merchant fee so be mindful. Not sure that we will return for that price point but seems it is more a local gathering spot for a cold beer than a great quality meal. It was an ok experience at best. read more

We went to a table that appeared empty and open and proceeded to start sitting down when we were told by another person eating at the restaurant that it was reserved, then the waitress said oh yeah this table is reserved but there was nothing on the table calling that out. The waitress said there's more seating somewhere else so we walked around and looked and all that was available is those long picnic tables which are not suitable for a three year old old to eat at. So we left.. They should get rid of those picnic tables, and add regular tables and seat their guests like a normal restaurant. Since this is clear across town we probably won't be back. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday for brunch during football season and they were busy as expected but had solid service which was nice. Got a table right away, drink order, and no pestering to get our food order in until ready. Definitely a spot to catch sports events with so many TVs, beers on tap, and a great environment to socialize. I had a breakfast scramble while my girlfriend had a burger and fries; both items were flavorful and exactly what we needed. Their Chipotle sauce on the scramble was very good. Great server, the music was really loud and the first thing she said was she would turn it down. The poke nacho appetizer is amazing. Dinners were served in good time. Our group ordered burgers and I went with the Asian chicken salad which was a bad choice as the chicken was warmed up pre cooked fried chicken that tasted stale. I sent it back and was replaced with my choice of substitute. I went with a grilled chicken Cesar salad. It was good, but the whole timing was off and I was eating alone because everyone else was finished eating. Food here is solid, however the vegetarian options are extremely limited so I haven't been here in a long time. The only thing I could really order was appetizers, but I enjoyed the cauliflower and the pretzel bites. Dog friendly, so when the weather happens to be nice in Livermore, we always bring our dog Maple and she enjoys hanging out in their spacious patio. Service is hit or miss. Since Rusty's closed and they moved the chef over here, the food is better than ever and it was always good. They still have a superior beer lineup and some great wines by the glass. Now that there's a full bar, there's almost no reason to go anywhere else. Great outdoor seating that's pooch friendly and quite a few TVs inside which make it great for sports. Also, they have somehow mastered the "full bar, kid friendly" thing that almost no one has ever figured out. The layout offers the long "community tables" along with regular tables and a long bar so there's a situation for everyone. My fiancé and I dined at Hop Devine last night- it was the first time for me and he'd been there before and had been raving about their cheeseburgers. Let me just say, he wasn't kidding- we split the cheeseburger meal and it was delicious! I can't imagine eating the whole meal alone. The burger was big, juicy and had so much flavor. We have been wanting to try this spot for a while and it did not disappoint. It's located in a brand new plaza with a lot of parking available. Unlike a traditional restaurant, you seat yourself + your party, then a server will come over, greet you with menus, and take your order when ready. Our server was quick and knowledgeable of the menu; letting us know what menu items were not available and giving us alternative recommendations. Since my partner and I weren't hungry enough to finish a whole burger, we decided to split the SF Burger. This was one of the best burgers I've had in my life. The patty was so juicy, the sourdough bread was toasted perfectly, and all of the condiments in the burger were so simple, yet so delicious! This is a great spot to grab a quick bite at the end of the day with friends, to watch the game, or sit outside on their patio for lunch. I was with a large group and the picnic table seating provided us with ample room and our server was able to easily divide the checks for each of us. Met a friend here while in town for a mini-vacation. The place was NOT busy but service was abysmal. We spilled water and our server never came by to check on us but another employee tossed a towel in our general direction. Had a company event with a dedicated server and we kept having to get up to ask her to take orders for drinks as people were coming in, she was standing in the corner, talking to staff most of the time. Nobody cleared any plates off the table. And when we asked other staff for assistance, they told us they were not our server, I asked several times to grab our server, but they never did. Used to come here prior to the expansion. The expansion allowed more light into the restaurant which is nice. Food quality has dropped. Ordered a beer which was flat. Ordered the french dip which was sub par and came out soggy on the bottom. The waitress gave me the food then nobody ever checked in or even asked how the food was. I love the chill vibes of the restaurant; it was casual and laid back with a bar and indoor picnic tables. All the servers were extremely welcoming and friendly, and checked in with us often. There were many interesting cocktails to choose from! We ordered the Watermelon Old-Fashioned and Spicy Mango Margarita. The old-fashioned actually had hints of watermelon flavor, which was nice and different. The margarita was a fun summer cocktail to have with lunch. I wanted to try so many dishes on the menu, so I will definitely have to come back in the future. The Poke Nachos are a must-try! They were the most amazing nachos I have ever had. It's a different take on the traditional cheese nachos. There was a good amount of ahi chunks with a delicious sriracha aioli sauce. The taste, texture, and crunch of the deep-fried wontons was perfect. The Filet Melt was amazing. The portion sizes were big; they did not skimp out on the filet and cheese. Every bite was incredible. We upgraded the side to truffle fries, and I'm glad we did, because it was so flavorful. I don't know what they add to the Steak Salad; it seems like basic ingredients, but it was so delicious. I loved the variety of toppings. I enjoyed my cousin crew brunch today with my first visit at Hop DeVine. The food and service was absolutely amazing! Maddie our server was so friendly and personable and our personal photographer for the day! She suggested the "Filet Melt" that is currently my new favorite sandwich!! We had our Irish Coffee and Cocktails to complete the meal! We enjoyed our meal and atmosphere so much that we will definitely come back as this will be our once a month meet up place and we will only request Maddie to be our server. We just ordered takeout today which included an order of calamari ($13) something that we have ordered before when eating in the restaurant. The portions have been ok in the past however when we got our order home tonight here's what we got. I was told orders are "portioned " to 5oz. BS Notice the overdone crumbs we received. VERY DISAPPOINTING! [UPDATE] Since my original review I have revise my 1 star to 3 star. Reason is I do like Hop DeVine my review is/was directed at the portion size I received when compared to what we have received in the past. I'm sure many of you have had similar similar experiences with take out and understand the disappointment when you open your order and find items missing or in my case less that I was expecting. Rusty, Yes I was agitated having to return to the restaurant due to our dissatisfaction with the size of our calamari takeout order then being told we weigh all of or orders, but I wouldn't characterize it that I was yelling and I'll apologize if it came across that way (the managers gender was irrelevant). Did I weigh the order no, As I said we have ordered calamari in the restaurant and the portion was fine. My " bs" was directed at the overall size of the serving I received. Take a look at the Hop DeVine pictures posted of calamari orders here on Yelp and compare them to the order we received . So as I summarized I was disappointed. I should have included that overall Hop Devine has great food and my post was directed at my takeout order. My date and I wanted some good food after wine tasting and the filet melt and western bbq burger did not disappoint!
