I usually enjoy indulging here but not the last time (2/28/10). Waitress was very slow. Messed up food order. Ordered wings- half hot, half medium. Came out half hot, half TMI. Usually when we order wings they ask if we want ranch or bleu cheese, they didn't so we forgot to ask right away and it took another 10 mins to get it. Drink refills were slow especially after needing them for the spicier wings that came out! I haven't been here in a while and kind of missed it but this experience ruined my appetite. read more

Jose is the best! Every time I have gone to this Hooters the service has been above and beyond. There are too many great Hooters girls to name them all but Tasha, Dali, Nancy, Angelica and Ticha are always welcoming and attentive. What impresses me the most is that they are consistently great at customer service each and every time even when the food hasn't come out like it should. Jose is someone who really stands out and goes above and beyond. He tremendously exceeds expectations and in my eyes was the glue that held this place together both in and outside the kitchen. Anytime Jose is in the building my food has been perfect. He definitely pushes others to work hard and elevates those around him. Jose has been so good over the years that at first I thought he was one of the managers- blows my mind that he wasn't. He is the only kitchen guy to ever ask on multiple occasions how the food taste and like any great chef genuinely cares what the customers think of the food he has prepared. There are many of us that would plan our Hooters trips around the time we knew Jose was there. I can't believe Hooters let talent like that walk out the door when he easily did the work of 3 people, at a minimum. Definitely a loss for Hooters but whatever business ends up with Jose should absolutely do everything in their power to keep him. read more

It's been 16 days since I filed a complaint against a certain Tim McKenneley, the manager at Hooters Fox Valley Aurora, IL. for his rudeness, sarcasm, arrogance, and bullying, copy of the complaint is hereby reproduced: "RE: RUDENESS AND ARROGANCE OF MANAGER TIM MCKENNELY, Hooters Aurora, Illinois FACTS and ISSUES: On April 21, 2017, Friday, at around 12:30 pm, I brought with me a very special guest to your Hooters Aurora Illinois for a business lunch. To start with, we decided to order a bottle of Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon. my usual choice of wine at your place. Abby, the waitress, gladly, brought us one, and even poured the wine in our glass, and told us to enjoy it and would check back on us to take our order. A few minutes later, Tim McKenneley, the manager, approached our table, interrupted our business conversation, and arrogantly, sarcastically, rudely and loudly told us, in verbatim, "You guys cannot bring your own wine here". I was shocked, taken aback and I just couldn't believe that a manager who I suppose knows me, since I have been coming to this place for at least 5 days a week for the last 2 years, would be that arrogant, sarcastic and rude! Even if I am not a regular customer, there is no justification for his nocuous action! With this manager's accusation, I felt offended, embarrassed and bullied, infront of my guest and so with the rest of other people around us sitting on the other tables. I replied, "What is the problem? Why we should bring a bottle of wine here? We ordered it! Why you didn't ask first the waitress or the bartender?" He said, "I apologize but I have to keep an eye on my wine inventory" (in verbatim), and he immediately turned his back while giving me a sarcastic look, presumably to check with Abby, if I was telling the truth. To me, claiming that he has to keep an eye on his wine inventory, is not an apology at all. He was justifying his action of confronting us of why we brought our own wine, without even checking first with his own people. I guess he's assuming that I could not afford to buy a bottle of wine, and accused me of bringing my own wine. When Abby, the waitress came back to take our orders, I told her the rudeness and arrogance of Tim, the manager. Abby was apologetic and said that Tim should have asked her first before rudely confronting us. I already knew what I wanted for lunch before heading to Hooters, but I didn't order any because I already lost my appetite. This Tim just ruined my day! After a while, Steve, the other manager, nicely approached us and apologized for the rudeness of Tim. He even offered us some free appetizers to which I declined. Abby must have talked to Steve about what happened. Dolly, the waitress, and Dora, the bartender, after learning from Abby about what happened, also approached our table, and apologized. I told the girls that I am not coming back to this place because of what Tim did to me. They were saying, "We love you Robert". After we finished our wine, I paid the check, left a decent tip, and wrote a note right on the check (Check No. 10003 dated 04/21/2017 Table 74) that says" Abby: Great service, as always. Please let me know if that arrogant Tim is gone and I'll come by and visit you guys". On our way out, this manager Tim, approached me again, apologized and made an alibi that he asked the wrong girl about the wine. I asked him who the girl was, but he refused to reveal the name and said that he didn't want to drag this girl to this incident. This was a clear indication that it was just his alibi to justify his rudeness. arrogance and bullying. So sensing that he was lying, I told him that "We're done here". I kept heading towards the door, and he kept following, and I told him to stop following me. Modesty aside, I am that kind of person who is very tolerant and does not want to make a scene. I am not that type of person who complain just to get a free meal or something. I do not want anything. I am a paying customer and all I want is to be treated right. But instead, this Tim treated me like crap. I could not help, though trying very hard, but think that this Tim must have not liked the idea of me frequenting this place everyday, and he would be happy that I do not come back to this place anymore. I do not know why? Maybe because I am Asian! Well, he succeeded because I am not coming back, and so do the rest of my guests, friends and family. I'm sure the Hooter's management do not practice racism, bigotry and bullying, and Tim does not represent the company on this end. For all its worth, let me say that this restaurant has good location, great seafoods, friendly and real nice staff especially Dora, Dolly, Misty, Brooke, Abby, Tasha, Emily, those kitchen guys, et.al. ...but has a very rude manager. Love it here!! Probably the best hooters in the area in my opinion. Food is always good, and if there ever is an error they really do their best to fix it. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've been to 12 hooters around the country And this is worse. I've been 3 times in the past year and there are 3 common threads: 1. They let children in the bar. Tis time there was a 5 year olds birthday party in the bar area (not restaurant area). Two of them were yelling at the top of their lungs for exactly 1 hour before I left (manager refused to say anything to the parents). This is the 2nd of the 3 visits that had unruly children in the bar. 2. Service is marginal At the bar. The bartenders Re always more involved in the young cute guys and making drinks for servers than notice my empty glass. I waited a minimum of 10 minutes after my glass was empty and never did he ask if I needed a refill when my glass was low. 3. The wings have been slightly undercooked all 3 times. I've love Hooters wings over and above Anyone else's, and have eaten god knows how many. I know what their supposed to taste like and see guys always under cook them to the point where 1/4 are pink inside. The first time a year ago I thought they had a new cook. 6 months ago I thought it may be a coincidence. But now after 3 in a row it must be their policy. I don't like fried to a crisp wings, but slimed pi k in the middle wings gross me out. Food was wonderful, as always. Can't ever go wrong with their wings! Service was slow at shift change when they gave us a different server. Waited a good 20 minutes for a check drop and we still wanted dessert. Dessert delivered fast and was delicious but then waited another 15 minutes before we had to get up and ask the waitress for the check. This hooters sucks. The service is terrible. I ordered food to pick up, the minute I walked in I stood there for a good 15 minutes nobody asked how they could help me nothing. After finally being attended to the girl working the take out orders just took my money without a word. Not a "it will be right out" nothing. Yesterday we came to eat at Hooters, it was just a usual weekend outing. We had Chrissa as our waitress and as always we love our servers. Right as we ordered our food, we had a family emergency and had to leave. I let Chrissa know we had to go, and she packed up all of our food, and labeled it for us. Came here for wings, husband's first time. Such a disappointment. We ordered 10 boneless wings (I swore there was no sauce on it, it tasted like butter. They brought out another sauce at an .89 cent charge, and it was just so oily and greasy, bleh), a Philly cheesesteak sandwich (hubs said it was a bit on the salty side, but good) and I got the buffalo chicken wrap (I was so psyched too, cuz I love buffalo wings, just not theirs apparently, but this was just bad). I've been to a few locations and this one is far by the worst one I disliked. I had a waiter named "Abby". She sucked at waiting our table! If your job is being a waitress,be outgoing and present yourself in a well manner way like its your job.You get paid. I don't know what it is with girls that wear a lot of make up and your job is to be a waitress but she needs a bit more training. Its like every girl I come across that wear a bunch of make up don't do a great job at waiting tables v.s the girls that don't. She also brought me my drink that had something in it visible to my damn eye and I had ask for another one. It looked like a black/green lil spice or greens that was in my cup! Now, how the hell you don't see that when you putting lemonade in my cup and bringing it to me? ONE last mistake she did was mess up my damn sauce on my wings. Anyways, I had asked for,"HOT" and she gave me MILD!!! I know they make mistakes but damn! I already mixed my chicken and my salad with the ranch and I didn't want to be an ass telling her I had asked for ,"hot" and this is mild. I wasn't going to die eating mild so I did. I called in my order and was told it would ready in 25 minutes. When I got to Hooters 3 waitresses were standing at the counter with several orders. There was lady before me and after 5 minutes they handed her a bag. I was then addressed. I gave them my name and the waitress gave me a bag. I drove off and immediately noticed that I didn't have the right order due to the smell. After returning to the restaurant, a manager was at the counter. I said my order is wrong. A guy came from the restroom and told the manager that the bus boy left the restroom without washing his hands. The manger said in a nasty tone, I will address him. The manager proceeded to ask me my order and I gave him the order. He loudly repeated what I said as he pulled items out of the bag. When he got to the chicken and notice it was wrong. The manager went to the back to get the correct chicken order. When he came back I informed him that my tator tots would be cold by the time I get home. He said ok in a nasty tone, it will take 3 minutes. Upon returning, the manager did not apologize for the inconvenience or anything. I said I'm sorry if I messed up your day! The idiots working behind the counter do not know to count. Half the time i come here they put the wrong quantity of wings on the plate, and this has been an on going issue here for years. And talking to management has not corrected the issue. They did however comp my meal after complaining face to facee. The last two times I dined here the servers were not pleasant; however, Michelle was fantastic. She was by our table every few minutes checking on us making sure that we were ok. The crab legs here are either a hit or miss... Sometimes they're great, and other time they will give you less than you order or old crab legs. The last time I had a to go order, they only gave me about 3/4 pound (when I ordered a whole pound) and half of the crab legs looked like they were expired. I had already gotten home and I didn't feel like going out again. I called to speak to a manager and they told me all they could do is give me a refund or recook the food, only once I brought all the food back. I wouldn't have a problem with bringing the expired legs back, but the fact that they weren't going to compensate the inconvenience was ridiculous. Had a bad experience with the waitress Shelby a month ago with friends. Had to call in 2 weeks ago to try to avoid her but wasnt their policy to disclose if a waitress was working, but literally said to the girl on the phone were just trying to not go there with her working and had to say she fucking sucked and was high out of her mind last time, but instead went to the one in downers Grove just because we didn't want to take the chance. Friends invited us back and scoped it out at bar to see if she was here. She was but we come here so much that we know her section and sat on the opposite side of the restaurant to get another waitress. Nope was still her, so we said ok maybe we'll try, ordered some apps and came back with no sauce or silverware. Now we're just going to leave for another restaurant.
