Slow service, only sat at the table and got ignored they were in a bad mood. Said we were ready to order but then waitress just walked away

Sat down at the bar waited at least 15 mins and no one even came over or addressed us. I attempted to call one of the bartenders over, waived my arms and said can I get a drink and they both ignored me. So we just got up and left. Don't waste your time. One star is being too generous in my opinion. If you want business at your location then you need to make sure you greet someone before 15 mins! read more

There's a good reason that this establishment has two stars it shouldn't have any. It's now been a year and I have still yet to receive my hundred dollars back that the server added as her own gratuity when I put cash as her tip.. Michael the manager was helping to get this situation situated however it was then passed onto Tony one of the regional managers and I've emailed him called and everything else that you can think of and here we are now over a year and I still have yet to receive my hundred dollars back. It's the point no call no email no nothing. No apologies of why the server decided to take it upon themselves to add $100 onto their tab.. granite the Server is no longer there however again they allowed this to happen. I came in @ 9:45 pm, just after an HSU game and the place was @ 25% full at best. I waited 5 min and practically had to ask the bartender to help find a server to seat me. 5 min later a server finally came by and seated me. Waited almost 10 min for my actual server to come by. Ordered food as soon as she came over. 10 min later she finally comes by with a water. 45 min after ordering I still had NO food. It was now 10:45 - almost a full hour since I had walked in the door. I didn't bother to cancel my order. I just got up and left - pissed off and hungry. No wonder you have so many low reviews. Customer service is COMPLETELY lacking and it's clear management doesn't give a shit to fix it. No surprise though seeing as the company is filing for bankruptcy. I feel sorry for whatever place this manager lands if they lose their job because it's clear they don't know how to run a restaurant. It's actually pathetic that the manager tries to apologize for all of these bad reviews. Apologies are only good when the problem has been corrected. Considering the amount of negative reviews for the same issues. Traveling and went here to watch some football and grab some wings. Don't go here if you want good service. Terrible service. Waited what seemed like 45mins for my appetizer! Then I kept asking for minimal service and my waitress would forget or stop at another table, talk for 5-10 mins then come back to my table. No A/C. First 15 min had makeup informercial on all televisions. Slow service (15 min for beer, 20 min for one iced tea, 15 min between entrees at our table - there were three of us). Had to yell to get bartender attention EVERY TIME to order drinks, apps, food, refills, to go box, and tab - then had to ask again at least once every time. Managers an absolute joke!! I think there were three of them. They played on phones, drank energy drinks, and were basic jerks (brought food to bartender and held in front of her face maybe three inches away at eye level, just standing there, while bartender had both hands busy mixing drink; brought six pack out for refill and sat beer on closest corner to their hang out table so beer just sat there vs taking three more steps and putting in fridge; ignored crying waitress on first day of job; no help while people stood waiting for hostess; not one interaction with a customer). Not one dirty beer mug bussed causing a huge number of dirty glasses sitting on all sides of bar the entire time. Bartender's uneducated on how to pour a beer resulting in lots of foam and wasted beer. Bartenders putting steins directly in ice bin to cool down after filling with beer then pouring out when realizing too warm (the bin they use for ice of actual drinks). So many unbussed tables plus three tables with items being used by managers sitting around with crap all over them. Five waitresses (one was new) and three managers - maybe 15 customers total and this was the state of things. No toilet paper in restrooms. What a joke! read more

By the end of the visit, the experience began to explain the lower online reviews. Nothing was outright poor, yet nothing rose above ordinary. And for a brand that once stood out, ordinary feels like a missed opportunity. There is clearly a strong foundation here, one built over years and loyal customers who remember when the food and service carried more energy and consistency. Perhaps the path forward isn't reinvention, but a return. A return to the standards, the recipes, and the attention that made this location worth the visit in the first place. I now understand why Hooters filed bankruptcy. I was in Abilene on business and stopped by to get a beer and some wings. First, they were out of Blue Moon beer. How does any serious restaurant run out of a key product? That's an issue of poor management. Secondly, it took about twelve minutes for me to finally get a menu from Ambria. Just ridiculously bad service. The food finally arrived and it was good. One other thing- someone had a dog with them in the restaurant that barked and barked and barked. I love dogs but this was just silly. I will never return to this unit. read more

The food wasn't bad, however we tried to order the 4piece sliders and were told they were out of buns. Tried to order a Beach Breeze cocktail and they were out of Red Bull mix. Our food finally came and the fries were lukewarm like they'd been sitting awhile. One of our party ordered a premium margarita and it tasted like tap water. We finally got thru the meal, but the whole time we were there the speakers for tv were up so loud we could not converse across the table. First time and last time ever going here. We got there approximately at 9:30pm on a Sunday night. We were traveling and decided to stop at hooters for some wings. When we first arrived our waitress let us know it was going to take a while for the appetizers and food we ordered due to them being behind in the kitchen, which we were perfectly fine with it. First our shrimp appetizers came out, we counted them and noticed it was only 20pcs when we ordered 24pcs, I know silly, but I mean we are paying for it so we spoke up, we noticed our waitress get agitated right away and walked away with an attitude. Whatever, we ordered all our food, we even called her back after ordering just to double check the wing orders. The wings start coming out and we notice the sauces are not correct, we let the waitress know and she didn't even really know what to say all she said was "I can't really do anything, but I can get you your waitress" we said fine we just need to speak with someone about the order. We waited almost 15min for her to finally come and talk to us. Mind you, we were still receiving our food order and by then we had a second order that was incorrect. She finally came by we let her know about the wings and were trying to explain to her what was wrong. She instantly caught an attitude with us and immediately said she would get her manager and walked off mad af. We only spoke with her for maybe 5min before she walked off. The manager comes to us and we told him about what was wrong and that we don't think it's fair to pay for all the incorrect food we received, well he instantly caught an attitude with us too and said "well the beers will have to go away too", mind you all we said was we weren't going to pay for the INCORRECT FOOD, we were going to pay for our kids food plus the appetizers we had already ate because duh, plus the beers and drinks, we were only fighting the incorrect food. The manager wasn't even trying to listen to us, he got the waitresses side of the story and decided to print out the receipt after talking to her, his plan was to go and speak with us and basically kick us out after having us pay for EVERYTHING, but that backfired on him and he got agitated with us even more. I stood up and said he didn't have to be rude about it, we were not done with our drinks, they just didn't want to deal with us. We really went in with a good attitude, after despite reading the past reviews they have received, we decided to give it the benefit of the doubt, welp yelp was right. We didn't get any names since hardly any of them wear name tags, but the manager was a guy with curly hair and wears glasses, which when we first arrived and were about to get sat the waitress asked him where to sit us and he really didn't bother to give her an answer, we should've known from when we first got there the vibes were off already. Our waitress was a girl with straight blonde hair, the other girl who "had nothing to do with it" was a girl with red hair and glasses. I really think they need to get corporate involved at this location, we honestly went in with a good attitude and were super nice to them we never gave them any attitude, but it almost seemed like we were a bother to them, the waitress herself had to correct herself while explaining the food that was brought out, that's when she got even more mad and said she'd get her manager. She knew she was in the wrong and did not have to be rude or a bitch about it because that's what she was. She is very lucky we had kids with us and that's why we didn't cause a scene. Been along time since I sent foot in a Hooters. Used to love this place starting with the Austin, Texas Northcross Mall location. Even made friends with the manager and got some group deals for my work peeps. Fave dish used to be the wings and crab leg plate. Not on the menu anymore. After the NCM location closed, Austin got Riverside. This one was troubled. Dined there at least once a month for a year or so until I just disappeared off the Hooters dining scene. Tried to go back once, terrible food and service. It's gone now. 7ish years later GF and I walk into the Abilene, TX Hooters looking for snacks and drinks. Three Mile Island used to blow my socks off; these days not so much. Hooters wings were probably the second spicy thing I ever ate. Only beaten to the punch by, well this it Texas...chips and salsa. Covid 19 review yelp peeps. We wore masks to our table as directed. Service was friendly. Drinks ordered, wings and boneless ordered. Roasted wings I felt still had some time in the fryer. Too crispy; barely edible. Boneless on the other hand were moist and delicious. Our server was cut after we received our food. We tipped and she transferred the ticket so she could finish her duties and go home. Overall, some redemption from years ago. Made me wanna at least check out the San Marcos, TX location when I return home. read more

With time to kill in Abiline, I stumbled across Hooters. Having been a while since I enjoyed the whole Hooters experience, the wife, daughter, and myself decided to give it a whirl. Another good excuse to pump my Yelp numbers up as well, so why not? After reviewing the Yelp review of others, I did have reservations about eating here. We pulled into the parking at about noon, just thought that I had to be at a wedding soon. I had to get lunch before the ceremony began, before my wife starts griping about my fam. (See what I did there?) There was only one other car in the parking lot. As we entered, said vehicle left and we were the only ones there. We went to tug on the door to go inside, and the door met us with resistance, so we initially thought it was closed. We peeked in the window and saw life inside, so we gave the door a more forceful pull, to which it opened. Alright.... Wing time. And before we go any further ladies, I do go there for the wings.. Honest.. :) We were greeted promptly and were asked if we wanted a table or booth. The wife asked for a booth, to which I said I preferred the hi top seat instead. We were seated at a hi top near the bar and we waited. No menus, but a QR code on the table for a mobile menu. We prefer a paper menu, to which we were told they did not have. Bummer. I have always wondered what restaurants do when older people walk in with an old flip phone, and refuse to get a smart phone. Restaurants need to get out of this mindset of no paper menus. Minus one star. I respect the COVID protocols, but bring the normalcy of an actual menu back, please. Our waitress, Dani, arrived and took our drink order. She went back to the kitchen, got our drinks and was back in good time. By then, we'd decided on what we wanted. The wife ordered a garden salad with chicken, but requested the chicken shaken in the hot sauce. The kiddo ordered chicken strips with fries, and I ordered ten naked wings flavored hot. The lunch crowd then started to show, and we were no longer the only folks in the restaurant. Our drinks were not filled in a timely manner, and the service was generally slow. After a very long wait, our order arrived. After looking at numerous other tables with no food, I attributed the slow service to a slow kitchen. This was not Dani's fault. Mine and my daughter's order was correct, however, my wife's was not. They did not shake the chicken in hot sauce. They just provided a side of the hot sauce to dip the chicken in, and charged us for the sauce. Petty, but still not how she wanted it. Minus one star. The food was just as I remembered Hooters to be. My wings were delicious, but my wife was underwhelmed by her salad. She used to love their Cobb salad, however, they discontinued it. She said her salad was just blah, and wished we had went elsewhere. The kiddo was happy with her chicken strips. This visit played out just as I had thought it would. I had the bar set low when I entered, so nothing surprised or disappointed me. I would say this visit was about average. Nothing more, nothing less. Would I recommend this Hooters? Eh... I guess.. Just do not come in here and expect to be wowed. The whole concept and experience really remains unchanged. So I'm out in Abilene visiting and we decide to grab a meal at Hooter's since it's close to the room and we can sit down and can grab a drink. When we walked in we saw a group of the servers sitting down chilling. Our server took forever to check on us even though the place wasn't packed at all. It was at least 10+ mins after sitting down that we were asked if we wanted something to drink. Then of course it took forever between that time and the next time we got our drinks, then food. We learned that there's a straw outage so they didn't have any straws. I guess that's just a thing at that hooters. We ordered Long Islands bc they're always strong, right? Nope! Not here hunny! All I could taste was coke. And once I finally got a spoon to stir it since there were no straws, all I could taste was disappointment cause why am I not able to taste the liquor in my drank?! After waiting forever we finally got our food. I ordered the fish n chips just to try something different and that was a no no. It wasn't seasoned, and no amount of salt n pepper or hot sauce helped. Long John Silvers tastes better than this. My sis ordered the naked lemon pepper wings which were well seasoned but they could've let them fry a little longer. At the end of our meal, a new server came to us and let us know she was replacing the young lady that was barely helping us before. (she didn't say "barely", I'm just throwing in my lil 2 cents). The new server was more attentive but hell we were paying by that time. Overall, super nice looking restaurant. Terrible service. Terrible food. Ask for your wings to be cooked well. read more

Can't say I'm surprised with the 2.5 star rating. Food was mediocre at best. The Togo guy didn't even check my food. Both the wife and myself came from the serving industry. We both know how important tipping is. With that being said, servers have gotten damn lazy. If I have to check my food and can't trust the server, then tipping is literally pointless. Moving on, the wings were par. The grilled chicken Caesar salads were literally dripping with Caesar dressing. Way, way over dressed. Would recommend trying other places. read more

Absolutely horrible! Everything tasted as if it had been fried in last week's oil, extremely greasy food! We had fish, burgers, and wings, and the only thing that had ANY flavor was the sauce on the wings! And the onion rings were, by far, the most disgusting onion rings I ever seen, much less tasted! Such an incredible let down...this was my very first time eating at any Hooters, and it will certainly be my last. You know that feeling when someone offers you something that you remember made you sick as a kid and you just have to say, "no thank you..." - yeah, add Hooters to my list! All our food came out except my husband's wings, they didn't come out for an hour after the rest of the food. We advised the food was cold and we still did not have utensils (after asking twice for them). He took our food and remade it within six minutes. We finally had hot, edible food. My wife and I were looking for something to do, unable to find much in the area we wound up here, which was my wife's suggestion lol. It was during a very busy time with a UFC match playing. There were large screens for watching in every possible direction. A lively crowd, and a friendly server named Teaire who was faster than we expected considering the crowd and even had time to chat. The beer was nice and cold but we did not order any food so I cannot speak for that. We were very pleased and will be returning to try the Wings in the future. read more

I honestly take all yelp reviews with a grain of salt. A 3 star review won't scare me away from a restaurant. I tend to go off of people's pictures and if the food looks good and fresh, then I will give it a try. With that being said, the food was awesome. I had the Daytona smoked wings and steak fries.. best steak fries and top 5 on the wings and I've been all over the country. But honestly, the service was so horrible, that I had to give a 2 star review.. I literally could have taken multiple pictures of our waitress (Angie) on her phone, but I was too annoyed.. Basically she was on her phone, talking to co-workers, or talking to this particular customer that is obviously a regular.. Maybe people don't go to restaurants for food service, and I know this world is in a scary place right now.. but I will 100% never come to this place again. read more

I ordered food at 6:30. Called at 8:30 looking to see why my order was not delivered. I asked to talk to manager, who I seriously doubt was more than a bus boy. I wanted to know why my food hasn't been delivered. He said delivery wasn't his problem. I had to call Postmates(whoever they are) and complain too them. He completely blew off my order and their lack of service. I asked for a refund since they are obviously not capable of getting the food to me in a timely manner. OK FIRST OFF, waited 10 minutes to get seated. After that we waited an additional 10 more minutes just for our waiter to show up. Asked for unsweetened ice tea and ended up with sweet tea. We soon were ready to order and it took 40 minutes just for 12 or so wings and a little cheeseburger to come out. The food had no flavor whatsoever. Let me tell you it was absolutely disgusting, awful, atrocious, unpleasant, sickening, nauseating, repulsive, revolting, abominable, horrendous, my tastes didn't want to exist anymore, i also didn't even finish it. The tables were also really stick. Surrounding you there are 20 different TV's playing the exact same game no variety either. Let me tell you that our waitress took forever to even check up on us. We also asked for waffle fries and celery she didn't even bring them out and still tried charging us for something we didn't even receive. At this point be grateful I gave you a good and decent tip. Was really disgusting and disappointing. Most likely will never come back to this location. This food makes me we wanna move states a matter a fact. Waited over 5 minutes at the front to be seated with ZERO acknowledgment from staff. Watched one waitress/hostess talk to a man/customer the entire time we waited. Nothing was related to service they were just bs-ing. If this is how service is just to get seated I cannot imagine how service is once you are seated. I also watched the manager standing in the back corner eyeing the room conversing with another employee and not once was an attempt made to head to the door to seat us. Needless to say we walked out.
