Please understand that for Abilene, Breakers is awesome. They have it all including pool, darts, shuffleboard, all the drinks you can ask for, numerous TV's for sports, nice bartenders and really good food that is made to order. The crowd is usually fairly young and most people keep to themselves and there are lots of regulars that bring a sense of community to the place. There are times where the lines at the bar are long and it can be easy to get impatient with the bartenders but if you've ever worked in the service industry, you'll understand how to treat the folks behind the bar. If you haven't ever worked in the industry, I'll give you a little, free advice. Treat the bartenders the way you want to be treated, that includes tipping them 15-25+% regardless of how long you waited. In the meantime, enjoy yourself!! Breakers is a cool spot, it has lots to do. It makes for a good date or even a place to have a big group to play darts or team pool with. Having moved from some of the biggest cities in the U.S. I really appreciate a place like this because there are very limited things to do around here, we need to support Breakers and find the positives and share them with our friends. For the most part it's a nice little sports bar. If you want a place to go to watch game, play pool, etc, it's a good fit for you.

Hands down, in my opinion, Breaker's have the best wings in town. But you do have to be patient for your food.

Watched an employee go into the bathroom, use the bathroom, and then leave without washing their hands. They went right back behind the bar and started serving. When I confronted one of the employees, they said he was the OWNER. If you like your drinks dressed up with piss hands, this is the place for you. From the looks of it, these reviews are pretty outdated so I'll help you out. The food here is honestly some of my favorite, it's a higher quality than what'd you expect at a billiards hall and bar and the prices aren't too crazy. It's seems to chill out quite a bit during the week unless it's Monday or Tuesday. I believe Tuesday is when they hold their APA tournaments. Plus it's free on Mondays, so you they do draw a bit of a crowd, there's usually only one or 2 bartenders when it starts getting later in the day, but from what I noticed from the older reviews best thing I gotta say is...THIS ISNT A TITTY BAR! Not every bartender you go up to is gonna want to flirt with you to get tips so if they're just a courteous person and not over zealous don't let it get to you. The drinks truly aren't priced that bad I believe they're actually cheaper here then they are at guitars and most if not all the table are regulation sized, and the felt is redone by the owner is what I was told. If you're looking for a chill hangout this the spot or if you wanna get into a bit i recommend either Tuesday or Saturday. We came out to hang out with some friends, just hanging out playing some darts. Husband went to get a drink and they told him that he wasn't allowed to have anymore to drink. He wasn't drunk or acting crazy. He took a drink of my beer and the lady behind the bar told me if he wanted to stay he can't have anymore to drink. I said well he's not drunk so what's wrong? She said well he's cut off and the owner said he's done. The bartender behind the bar has been glaring at us and making comments the entire time. There's no point in having a line to get helped if she's just going to help her regulars who walk up on the sides instead of wait in line like everyone else. I ordered some shots she made 2 of the 4, charged me for all of them and when I was there waiting for the other 2 she said what do you need? We have been here a few times with friends to hang out and have a drink. Plenty of pool tables and dart boards. The bar seems to have decent prices, but watch out on the weekends because the line gets super long. Last time we tried their menu and to my surprise everything tasted better than good. The size of the place and quality of the tables are decent but not good enough to entice me back considering the appalling service. I've only been once and there are not many places that the first experience encourages me never to go back. As you read this please bare in mind this was during a week day and the place seemed very slow business wise. I walked into this place and up to the bar. Its a circular bar and definitely suggest its a bad idea for good customer service. I watched a male bartender serve another patron at the other end of the bar, take his money, and then walk around to the other side of the bar to read a magazine he was probably eager to get back to. He didn't look my way even once and by the time he got to his magazine there was stuff in way so he couldn't see me. I waited half expecting him to look around to see if anyone needed help. Nope. Someone else needed a drink and called out to him. After that person was served he came over to me, took my ID, gave me some pool balls and we were set. He was pretty cold and didn't seem like he wanted to be there. My wife and I played for a while. We decided to choose some of our own tunes from the Juke box. It was a nice looking Touch Tunes set up just like a lot of places have these days so I must be good right? Well, not really. All the songs we chose seemed to be at a lot lower volume than the 'filler' songs that played when no one else was paying to chose the tunes. Ok... so we got thirsty. Walked up the bar and now there are two people behind the bar (a guy and a gal). The gal helped a couple of people and walked past both my wife and I standing there not once but twice. Never looked at us, never said a word, not even a 'i'll be right with you' or anything. The guy was on the opposite side of the bar gladly helping the half dozen guys sitting that side. He never looked around either. I stood there for what seemed forever before deciding to walk away thirsty. We played a few more games of pool and listened to some 'quiet' music and headed out. Oh but wait, I needed to give the balls back and pay right? Now i'm gonna stand at the bar and see if either of the two look around. Guess what? really didn't. Had to get the guys attention. Still cold and hating the world as he took my money. If you want to play some pool try Slix across town. Its older and smaller but much more inviting and the people are super friendly. I'm not real big into bars at all, it's just not my thing. So for me to really enjoy a bar's atmosphere is saying something. This place is just amazing. Their pool tables are all regulation and in fantastic shape. The atmosphere here is amazing. I've never seen a shady situation happen here, ever. The drinks are all good, glasses are all clean. The bar staff is always great, very nice people all the way around. Restrooms are nice and clean. Here's the real kicker: The food is good! No joke! My wife and I were playing pool, we hadn't drank any alcohol whatsoever, and we got very hungry. So we ordered a couple of burgers and fries. Low and behold, the burgers were really - really - good. For Abilene this pool hall is decent. The tables are fairly old but will do the job. As for the dart boards. They are extremely old and need to be replaced. Bartenders are nice but definitely understaffed. So be patient cause it will take you a long time for a drink. No waitress either. read more

My boyfriend and I went to breakers for the first time and we will never be back. Rude regulars and customers. The only person who talked to us and was somewhat nice was the guy who was checking our ID's. We went to play pool and there were several tables that were already set and no one was at the tables. With us not knowing we grabbed some sticks and played a game until one of the regulars came up to us being rude and disrespectful. A staff member was with her and told us that we are not allowed to play pool with the balls on the table and sticks and that we have to go to the bar. The regular snatched the pool stick out of my boyfriends hand and said some things I choose not to repeat. Found this place on Yelp as I am in the area for the weekend. Wanted to find a cool spot to watch the football game. Atmosphere is good, lots of tables to play pool, big and open, lots of room. The down fall and why my rating is low is because of the bartenders. The first one when I got here at 5:30 was rude, I walked up to the bar to order and she never looked my way for at least 5 minutes, when she finally made eye contact you would have thought I had just killed her dog. I ordered a pitcher of beer and before I could finish telling her the rest of what I ordered she walked away and and brought back a pitcher. So I said "well I'd like a miller lite bottle as well", again I got the "your bothering me" look. There are different waitresses now, Service didn't change. Literally was told to not order from one side of the bar, that I needed to go to the other side of the bar where u had originally opened my tab, clearly there are lines around the bar and I can understand, but why be rude? Why not say "hey I'll take care of it for you this time but...." or here's an idea, how about be able to access all tabs from all kiosk? Unless you can and there is just a lack of service. As I approached the bar (4:30pm), the first thing I noticed was bud light on tap, and instantly knew what kind of establishment I had entered. I persevered and didn't allow this to sway my opinion. I ordered the safest item on the menu, "Burger and Fries." Besides the unenthusiastic bartender and the approximately 15 minute wait time the "Burger and Fries" wasn't half bad. Sweet and succulent buns hug the patty and toppings, while hot fries dunk into sweet ketchup. My only gripe was the patty which had hints of sausage and floor. Overall not the worst burger Iv had. I give it a 6/10 only because of how good the buns were. I counted 17 pool tables so it should be pretty easy to get a turn on a busy night. Breaker's has other enjoyable drinking based games, easily enjoyed by misguided youth. Honestly probably one of the better attractions Abilene has to offer. Check it out! read more

The prices and Happy Hour deals are good. I also liked the pool tables. One the other hand, getting waited on is hit or miss. I've been there a few times and it generally takes 15 minutes or more to get your first beer whether you wait for a waitress or go to the bar. They need to have better bar coverage or waitresses on the floor. I don't like a waitress walking by me 3 or 4 times before I get the message and go to the short staffed bar.
