Delicious drinks from knowledgeable and creative bartenders! Great ambience with a variety of seating.

This place is just great. Dipped in for happy hour on a Wednesday. Nice size crowd, a group in the lounge and a birthday party set up on the high tops. I found my way to the bar and pulled up a seat. Immediately created by Amber, the bartender. I don't know how she feels about being called a mixologist( is that cool anymore?) but she knew her way around some spirits! For my first drink she mixed me up a classic old fashioned. Nice balanced drink. I ventured through some of their other specialty cocktails. I just couldn't get enough! A few hours in and it was time for dinner. The hot honey pepperoni pizza hit the spot ! This is a great addition to the soda district. Come with friends or make some new ones when you get there ! Can't recommend this enough, Abilene read more

I live in Austin, but from time to time, I meet a group of friends from Abilene at KAO and I love it. The server who is a native of Washington State I believe couldn't be friendlier. It has a good feel and attracts an interesting mix of people. And the location in an area of downtown Abilene that's being restored is fantastic. I will never go to Abilene and not stop at KAO. read more

Yes! Great bartenders! Natalie made drinks especially for us and they were perfectly wonderful! I gave her permission to name her creation after me.... Great ambience and service! We sat at the bar while other groups gathered in really eclectic and comfortable lounge. read more

Love love love this place! Natalie and Riley are the BEST bartenders. It's a very low key, chill, lounge. Reminds me of some of my favorite places in Dallas. Definitely recommend the Glitter drink. I forget what it's called.. but it's made with edible gold glitter. read more

I came here to treat my friend on her 21st. She was excited to see that y'all offer a cold brew martini which has a similar foundation to an espresso martini. We came here on a Friday (technically Saturday) at 12:30 am. The hours on Friday and Saturday are till 1:00 am (according to Google), but to our surprise, all of the chairs were put up and they had already closed. This is not only an issue because the owners lose money, but it's also a problem for those who are dedicating their time to visit the establishment and are met with fallacious business hours. read more

I was super impressed with the drinks here! I was in town for a quick weekend and met friends up for drinks. I ordered their double old fashion and boy was it amazing! I only needed one so that tells you something. ;) The service was good, the vibe was laid back, and the ability to talk and hear each other in a crowded room was great. Would go back for sure! read more

This was the coolest place! Me and my boyfriend went here for a few drinks and ended up having some of the best drinks we've ever had! The mixologist was awesome and made us some awesome stuff that we'd never even thought of trying before! Staff was so friendly and the vibes were unique and fun! I can't speak on pricing because i can't remember but it was definitely worth it for the experience! read more

Kao lounge - Lounges Near Me - Abilene, Texas

Went here tonight because my high school reunion was at the venue next door and they only had beer and wine and we wanted cocktails. Natalie was behind the bar and she took amazing care of us. We were in town from Saint Louis where I work at a craft cocktail bar. The drinks here were top notch. Haven't been to Abilene in 20 years and I was surprised to find a place of this caliber. Thank you Natalie and Kao for making this small town turned city girl feel right at home in my home town. read more

Kao lounge - Old fashioned with a branded twist. Only in Texas. - Lounges Near Me - Abilene, Texas

Great cocktails!! Lavender breeze is incredible!!! Food is eh. Nothing impressive. Cheap during happy hour so that's a plus. Price is super expensive. I spent $15 on one drink...so probably won't frequent this place but will be an occasional treat read more

Ryley is an amazing mixologist! Don't know what you want? Ask Ryley ! He will ask you a few questions as to what you like - and then will serve you the most amazing drink that you never even knew about. I'm not kidding this is a great place to go hang out and chill with friends & family. read more

What a disappointment. I'm in town visiting my nephew in the air force in Abilene. Went to a couple breweries that were awesome. We decided to check out this craft cocktail place. Zero welcome. We walked in and not even a hello. Ryley Fox did not even acknowledge our presence. So, we ended up at The Mill. Way better vibe. Love Remy, Carae and the new girl Kaitlyn. read more

Ryley is the greatest mixologist I've ever encountered. This bar is light years ahead of any bar in Texas. I will make a point to revisit this place every chance I get. Greatest cocktails in Texas!!! read more

One of my favorite spots in abilene to get a drink. The old fashioned are well made and the atmosphere is great!

What a disappointment. We knew Colby as a bartender over at Amendment 21. He's a great bartender and we looked forward to trying his new place. Maybe if Colby had been there the experience would have been better. We got two drinks. One was excellent. The other was undrinkable - totally watered down. The cocky bartender refused to replace it. I've never had a reputable bar not fix a drink. The music was loud, not good, and the vibe of the place was uncomfortably eclectic. We had high hopes for the place and it failed to deliver. We walked over to Amendment 21 and salvaged the evening. read more

Always a fun night when at KAO! They have a delicious range of specialty drinks, but if you just tell the bartender your flavor palette they will make something amazing that will have you coming back for more! read more

Our favorite place to spend time when in Abilene. Colby and his team (especially Riley) make amazing custom craft cocktails. Just tell them what you like and they always deliver! We always run in to friends (it's like Cheers) or make new ones when at KAO! read more

Kao lounge - Cinnamon Sour - Lounges Near Me - Abilene, Texas

These cocktails are really special, as the taste is more nuanced than many. I can't believe it took us so long to try this place!

The lounge is a very nice space and the decor is really instragramable! The drinks made by Colby are really solid. One can tell he has spent time on his craft and his showmanship is on point. The drinks were delicious! I hope that the establishments makes it as it is a great addition to the Abilene scene. read more

Meet a new friend there good drinks , music was good! Will be back! Thank you for all the great service and staff!

It's a cool looking place in a secluded location.... that part is great. The line to get drinks was horrible- who wants to stand in-line for 15 minutes? They really should have a waitress. I know it's Abilene, but I hate to go to a nice place and see people dressed so casual. The drinks were hit or miss. For the money and atmosphere, I would rather go to amendment 21 - the pours are harder and the parking is better. read more

Bartenders make the best drinks! Specialty drinks are great - if you like a certain drink they are happy to accommodate

We sat down, 15 min later we were asked to move to a filthy table for a table that was "reserved" for 30 min later. Not sure why the table was open to begin with but not sure if I will frequent here especially with one bartender two thumbs down. Drinks were not drinkable so we left them on the table full. read more

Nice quit atmosphere, drink prices are crazy high and it should be much more outside lighting. That area of town at night seems sketchy at best. The bartender was nice. read more

The drinks were delicious and the bartender was very nice but we were quite disappointed that the bartender was not wearing a mask (it was around his neck but never worn properly). This was made even worse that there were patrons sitting at the bar. read more
