First of all I spent 3 months in Dallas TX for work and have been through all the BBQ you can think of. This place genuinely blew all of that out of the water. Amazing brisket, ribs.... Just found this BBQ restaurant today and OMG is everything amazing! We liked the folksy vibe and the comfortable atmosphere. We were a group of 5, and everyone was happy with their meal. I had the ODB Brisket sandwich and the brisket was just divine! All the toppings- house pimento cheese, pickled red onion, and white BBQ sauce, blended well with the sliced brisket. My husband had the chicken sandwich and was very happy with how tender the chicken was. We each had a side and shared them. I had the Street corn esquite style and my husband chose the mac n cheese. Both were very tasty! We were enjoying eating our sandwiches so much that I forgot to take pictures of them! We were full (stuffed). BUT, Cora, who was running the place, making sure everything was in order and served promptly, told us about her specialty margaritas and made us one. Wow, was it DELICIOUS! We wanted it spicy so it came locked and loaded with jalapeño infused tequila and tajin on the rim. With the nice foam layer on the top and the combination of every ingredient in the cocktail, along with the presentation, just blew us away! 100% YUMMY! There are other variations to choose from too. I Had the brisket sandwich. Hubby had chicken sandwich. Very good. We usually go out on Fridays to a sit down restaurant where you get served by a waitress, this is more of a sandwich to go place. Got a menu and ordered drinks, then go up to order when you're ready. Food was served in a cardboard box so that you could take it if you wanted. Bbq sauce very good. Self serve water. It's cute. Wow! This BBQ is amazing! Restaurant was recommended to us. We walked in and the couple sitting at the table said, it's so good! So, we sat and ordered. Updating my review based on overall experience Interior / Exterior 2 stars The dining room is still under construction, so can't comment on that. Last two visits, the 'backyard' was devoid of tables and benches so you have to stand and wait for your order to be called. There are a few tables on the concrete driveway and 'front yard.' Last visit, it was very windy. The whiteboard menu actually flew off the nail and became airborne. One of the potted trees in the driveway overturned. It was not a great day to dine outside. Ease of ordering 0 stars You can still only order via Toast, Facebook or Instagram. In my opinion, the ordering process needs a complete rehaul. Here's why - 1) Toast app does not have ALL items and not everyone wants to download an app to place an order. I work in IT, so it's not like I'm a tech dinosaur, but I like to be able to ask questions if I'm unsure about something and their menu descriptions are VERY vague. 2) Menu descriptions could use some work. See #1. For example, the brisket stroganoff / beef stroganoff had pork belly in it. A lot of my friends and family don't eat pork. I only discovered it had pork belly in it after I logged into Facebook and looked at multiple posts. The coleslaw is very good, but before tasting it, I had no idea if the yellow coloring was from turmeric, mustard, honey mustard, etc. I'm pretty adventurous when it comes to food, but there are definitely flavors and items I know I don't like and would prefer to avoid. 3) I already mentioned that it's a bit difficult to walk on the large stone / gravel 'sidewalk.' I should also mention that it's not easy for a disabled person to go to climb the steps to go to the window. And I only noticed this because I'm recovering from a torn meniscus - so maneuvering stairs, standing for more than a 5 - 6 minutes - can be a bit daunting. I'm guessing they're doing something to backyard and the tables and benches will be back. I don't know - didn't ask. 4) They are not easy to reach on Facebook or Instagram. They never responded to my FB question and after I raved about the food to my buddies, both of them said they tried to place orders via FB and were not able to. My buddy who works at the hospital was trying to place an order for her team and she said she never got a response. My buddy who works at FLETC said he got a response, but it was after he'd already given up and gone somewhere else. 5) My final visit, I attempted to get ribs. FINALLY found out that they no longer have ribs on Saturday unless you pre-order on Toast app. ~ 02/07 - arrived too late to place order, but Tommy told me they'd have ribs this Saturday ~ 02/08 - showed up and ordered sandwich, Kate told me they'd have ribs this Saturday ~ 02/10 - show up Sat before Superbowl Sunday & Kate said no ribs unless I pre-ordered for Superbowl Sunday, told me to come back next Sat ~ 02/17 - no response to FB message about ribs, didn't want to drive to Brunswick for no reason ~ 02/24 - final weekend in town, showed up to order ribs, was finally told by Kate that ribs are only available if you pre-pay / pre-order. She said they used to have ribs every Saturday but they stopped. Now - you can only get them if you pre-pay / pre-order on Toast app. And I think you have to get the order in by Tuesday. But the paper menus in sheet protectors at window still say they have ribs as a Saturday special. SMH. Food - 4.5 stars I had the beef stroganoff, but got the sandwich for my brother. He didn't care for the sauces or the slaw (he said both were too runny), but he raved about the meat. I loved my food. My buddy Derek loved his brisket, pickled onions and stroganoff but didn't care for his pimento cheese. Customer Service - 0 stars The young lady at the register said she was new. I explained that I wanted a small ramekin of slaw topping, but for my side I wanted the beef stroganoff. I explained this twice because it was clear that she thought I wanted a side of stroganoff AND a side of slaw. They still got this wrong - put the slaw on the sandwich, then got annoyed when I brought the sandwich back and asked them to re-make it. No apology for the error. I even apologized for the inconvenience and explained that I was driving the sandwich up to my brother because I wanted him to experience the deliciousness. He's 5 hours away and didn't want it to get soggy. So I got my re-make, but it came with a complimentary order of raised eyebrows, pursed lips and chilly silence. Price / Value - 3 stars Pricey, but what one would expect for this type of food, ie 'elevated' barbecue. Menu clarity issue - I still don't think they rang up my ODB brisket correctly. I think they charged me as though I'd ordered EXTRA brisket. Overall Overall, I think locals who work or live nearby will love this place. Averaging out the stars listed above, this should be a 1 or 2 star review, but the food is too good to give it less than 3 stars. read more

The BBQ Illuminati had Pork Belly Tacos so I HAD to try that special out!!! Oscar Foxtrot Sierra!!! Out Fricking Standing! SO juicy and the umami flavors with the pickled onions and veggies on top were spectacular! The service is always fast and friendly. This restaurant appeared to be a large, multiroom house. Seating was very comfortable in smaller rooms vs. a large cavernous space. Service was prompt and friendly. I had the pulled pork sandwich and Brunswick stew and received generous portions of each. The stew as quite flavorful with lots of nicely cooked - but not over cooked - vegetables and bits of meat in a flavorful broth. The pulled sandwich was so generous it could not be picked up, as a sandwich, until some of the meat was eaten with a fork. The bun was standard but not special, the meat was soft, tender, lightly smokey but a bit salty for my taste. We ordered a sausage for later and found it wonderfully lean but with the just right amount of fat and spiced just right and mild. Altogether, an excellent lunch. read more

Awesome spot to get a beer and some great bbq. We came less than an hour before closing time and the food was still great and nothing was sold out. Holy moly, what a delicious place to eat. I got the street corn and brisket street tacos. The brisket is fantastically flavored and such a good blend with the toppings.
