Chicken Tacos!
Angie D.

Came in real quick after a long drive exhausted and hungry. Chicken tacos always solves the hunger issue! These were delish. They come with rice and beans. Of course I only ate the tacos. They close at 9:30pm pretty early if you ask me. They serve all drinks from the machine, no can sodas, no can or bottle anything. No homemade juices or anything in that sort. The place is pretty big- the tacos were bigger than I expected, was only able to eat two. Deff. Will be back when Im starving and craving Texas style Tacos!

Ceviche

Flavorful food and personality filled employees!!! Every time driving by the place looks packed. Easy to see why. Locals know quality food. We had the ceviche, minus Mayo and it was filling and hit the spot. The choose your own plate comes loaded with a full plate of rice and beans. The chicken I. The tacos and enchiladas have flavor. The chili verde sauce has a kick to it! Salsa is in house made and you can ask for the spicier one. Margaritas are individually made so they are not watered down.

5 de Mayo special is the bees knees. Service could use a little improvement but that could be because I'm a gringo. Ambiance seems like it's not quite finished but I don't go there for any of those things I go for the food

Flan: $3.99 before tax
Hyun Sik A.

Taco Tuesday experience Taste of food: Free chips and salsa as appetizer. Chips were warm and crunchy, and salsa tasted decent. Taco Tuesday $1 tacos only apply to chicken and beef tacos. In general, all the tacos were generously sized, and they did not skimp on the meat. The chicken tacos tasted way better than the beef. The chicken is some sort of pulled chicken that's soft and juicy. The beef is ground beef like you'd find at Taco Bell. Service: The restaurant was packed, and our waitress was busy servicing multiple large tables at the same time. She was friendly and did a good job of managing each table. Atmosphere: Overall the restaurant looks like any other Mexican restaurant in Georgia. When you enter, there is a bar area on the right, and general seating on the left. Drinks: My friends got the margarita and said they were wayyyy too sweet and syrupy. My water tasted fine. Dessert: The flan was also wayyyy too sweet...the sauce + Hershey's chocolate syrup + whip cream was overkill. It could've been fine with just a little sauce. Overall: I give 4/5 stars only because the tacos were $1, and they give free chips and salsa. It's just about average for Mexican restaurants in Georgia. I wouldn't go on a normal night without this deal.

Tacos el Pastor
Miyu W.

Tacos el Pastor: probably their best dish. Generous portion and the meat was on point. Rice and Beans: very average, I didn't expect much anyway. Texas style Fajitas: good enough Lime Margarita: tasted like water with a sprinkle of flavor, I don't know what I expected. Our waitress was super nice, the overall ambience was welcoming and appealing.

Guacamole

Horrible, the guacamole too expensive and not flavor on, not even close to a Mexican flavor. Michelada, too spicy. I couldn't drink it. Dirty restaurant, The bathrooms smell bad. No paper toilet. Tables with dust and trash on the side. Terrible experience in middle of COVID-19 . Service the worst. No contact no patience. Nothing to come back.

Dinner for 4! So much food, and the price for adults about 80.00$. Not too bad.

Because the restaurant is downtown there is plenty of free street parking spaces right outside the door. There is a bar, with bar seating, The other seating consisted of normal table with hard back chairs, and couches that ran down the side of the wall with tables, and hard back chairs on the other side. Overall, the service was adequate, not good, and certainly not great, but good enough not to stop us from enjoying our night out. I started with what was supposed to be a cup of Tomato Bisque but received and paid for a bowl. Somewhat my fault for not realizing that my serving and what I paid for was large and more expensive than the cup I ordered. With that said, I thought the flavor of the bisque served with, Garlic Buttered Crostini, and grated Smoked Gouda was outstanding. The temperature could have been a bit warmer, but again the flavor was sport on. The wife and I split a very large bowl of PEI Mussels. The Mussels were served in a white wine broth with Shallots, Garlic, Roasted Tomatoes, and Bacon. Honestly, I could and did finish the broth off as a soup. There were quite a few Mussels that did not open, but the bowl was so large, we wouldn't have eaten them anyway. The wife's main dish was the Pan Seared Sea Scallops, with peach and bacon risotto, and fresh Spinach. The dish was finished with an amazing Bourbon Peach Brown Butter Reduction. The scallops were large, the Risotto was great, but the brown butter reduction was the absolute star of the dish. For my main dish I had the Curried Lamb Lollipops, served over Cilantro Basmati Rice, and roasted Tomatoes with an excellent curry sauce. The chops were of good size and cooked to perfection. And please don't even get me started on the fired Garlic Butter Paratha which is some of the best bread I have ever had. My mistake was ordering a side of the Peach and Bacon Risotto similar to what was served with the scallop dish. Without the Bourbon Peach Brown Butter Reduction however, the risotto ate a little dry and had little to no peach flavor. I finished my meal with a bourbon , Mascarpone, bread pudding, which was amazing. The dish was loaded with bourbon which both my wife and I agreed was not completely cooked off. Great dish to finish an outstanding meal. Even with a few minor missteps, the overall flavor of the dishes were so good, I still must give it an overall 5.

Tipsy McSway's is open until 10 PM and the kitchen stops taking orders at 9 PM. After looking over the menu, I decided to try the Brunswick stack sandwich. I had hoped to try the tomato bisque soup as my side, but unfortunately, they only serve chili, not soup, on Mondays. So instead, I ordered the fried potato salad as my side, and it was surprisingly delicious. It comes with small diced potatoes in a warm savory mustard sauce. When I originally asked the bartender what he recommended, he mentioned the Brunswick stack sandwich as well as the smash burgers. While the sandwich was good, I would probably try one of the burgers next time. Nevertheless, I would definitely get the fried potato salad again. The next time I'm in the area, I would definitely consider returning to Tipsy McSway's and I would recommend it to others as well. Cheers
