If you're in Brunswick, Georgia, you absolutely have to stop at I Am Nacho Mamá --conveniently located next to the new @TrubyHilton Brunswick. This place is truly a hidden treasure! [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the moment you walk in, you feel the warmth.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Yvette, one of the owners, along with her husband and their son Nalen, run this Latino restaurant with so much love, pride, and dedication. Their passion shines through in everything they do. The food? Absolutely delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared -- every bite tastes homemade and full of heart. You can tell they care deeply about quality and about their customers. The portions are generous, the flavors are incredible, and the entire experience is unforgettable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What makes it even more special is the family atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They don't just serve food -- they also make incredible cocktails they make you feel welcome, appreciated, and at home. Brunswick is so lucky to have I Am Nacho Mamá. If you haven't been yet, go! You'll be glad you did. Ivette & Alan Cleveland, Ohio

We had a great experience at this location as we were returning home from our vacation. Our service from Isaiah J. was absolutely incredible, professional, friendly, and careful to ensure all food allergies were accommodated. Allie, the owner-operator-manager of the establishment also greeted us and gave us a layout of the food options and the sensitivities they could accommodate. My wife had the three taco meal deal (Two Picanha + One Ground Top Sirloin) which included yellow rice and beans, and an extremely tasty lemonade Fresca. All were tasty. I had the Mama Cuba sandwich (Popular) which was grilled-pressed and absolutely amazing taste. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The overall environment was cool, relaxing, and welcoming with a nice bar area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Quite an unexpected treat on our road trip.

The food was so delicious. The service was magnificent the owner made sure everyone was well taken care of. The servers always made sure we had everything we needed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was a family oriented vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I felt like she was our mama lol. Keep up the good service

I ordered the nachos, plain and simple. After reading extensive reviews, I rolled the dice and wanted to see if their chips were gluten free (celiac-safe). They were! They serve chips and salsa at the table. I would wholeheartedly recommend the chips and nachos as gluten free. I didn't get sick! The chicken was cooked to perfection. Chips were made fresh and tasted great. Service was impeccable. The place was lively for a Saturday night, but after a short wait we had no problem getting a table. Would recommend if you want a solid taco joint in the Brunswick area.

This place was a true treat! [[HIGHLIGHT]]First off it doesn't look like much from the outside. It was a former fast food restaurant converted into what it is today.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was staying next door at the hotel and thought I could go for a meal and some drinks before calling it a night. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Decent amount of seating for a small restaurant. Both inside and outside seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was slow so the I sat at the bar to watch the Monday night game and talk with the bartender and team.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] To my surprise they offered a small menu and small list of in-house drinks. Little did I know that this was intentionally done. How often do you go to a restaurant and they sell the same thing as the restaurant down the street. Probably same vendor to be honest. Not I Am Nacho Mama! After looking over them menu I found that the prices weren't the greatest but everything sounded fantastic. Now I will say the prices are reasonable for what you get, both in food and quality! They gave me some chips and salsa. Nothing fancy but was very tomato pasted based. Chips looked home made. I ended up getting the half chicken and let me make this clear. This thing was fall off the bone, seasoned through and through with a delicious dipping sauce. I mean I completely devoured this plate savoring every last bite. Presentation was beautiful but I have no idea why that gave me a knife. It was not needed! The sides were good by themselves but I was informed to pour out the second sauce on top to enhance the flavor and boy did it. I paired this with a jalapeño margarita that was just the right heat with a smooth finish. At the end of it all I had the pleasure of talking with the head chef and this guy has true passion for what he put out. Don't let the name fool you. It may scream Mexican restaurant but this is very much a modern take on every day foods with Hispanic food culture and he nailed it. I will be telling all my colleagues and friends that come around this area to stop by if they want something new and something wholesome.

Our overall experience was excellent. My wife and I stopped at I Am Nacho Mama after reading the good reviews on Yelp. We were greeted warmly by staff and seated right away. We both ordered Mama Cuba sandwiches, the restaurant's take on a Cuban sandwich. It was spiced perfectly. The chips and salsa were excellent; the chips cooked in tallow. Yum. The service was great, too, and the owner even went table to table to check on us and chat a bit. We'll definitely be back.

Reluctantly visited this restaurant only because there were not many options. We left absolutely satisfied and vowing to return. We all ordered a variety of tacos (steak, marinated chicken, and lechón) for lunch which were mouth watering delicious and made with fresh ingredients. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would love to visit for dinner when they fire up their outdoor grills.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was very prompt and friendly and I liked that she gave us the background of the establishment and recommendations on our lunch options. I will be stopping in on my next trip through town.

This is a hard review to write. I always try to be honest. So here goes- Here is what we liked: * [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was freaking fabulous. We sat outside and had a good time on the patio while a storm rolled in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Became a bit of a storm and moved to the bar. * we had a bunch of drinks and the bartender took absolute care in the creation of the cocktails. * Sat at the bar with the Mrs Owner and everyone felt like family. *While outside the Mr Owner came out to check on us during the storm and again while we sat at the bar. *The empanadas were delicious. *The chicken on the nachos were flavorful. *[[HIGHLIGHT]]Check out the grill on the patio- look like an old truck.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What could of been better- *The margaritas- let's be honest a good margarita can make or break a visit and this was just ok. However the other drinks were amazing. *Chips and salsa- they have a weird cut to their chips, like a strip. And the salsa not good. A sweet tomato sauce at best-maybe best with pasta? *The Corn elote was a sad reminder of corn and just not good. *While the chicken on the nachos was flavorful, it was cold. Overall our party of 4 had an amazing time and would totally go back. However the food was just average.

Stopped at an exit while traveling North on 95 near Brunswick, GA. There were all kinds of national chains but a local place stood out as a must visit "I'm Nacho Mama". While my wife had doubts, we stopped anyway. Inside and out, a fun place with outdoor seating and indoor bar. Service was excellent and the food terrific. The menu was extensive and we got street tacos stuffed with so many goodies the corn shell could hardly hold everything. My wife got the trio of empanadas filled with shrimp, beef and chicken. The rum soaked flan sounded great but I had to get it to go. Overall a terrific experience and I would definitely return and recommend!

We stumbled along Nacho Mama while I was driving, I saw the sign and told the wife let's stop and grab some goodies for the kiddos. So happy we did the establishment is family owned everyone is very friendly. The service was top tier and they were packed for a Friday night and the chief was legit and very attentive. The door was delish I had the holy trinity and let me tell you it was delish! I paired it with the empanada red cream sauce and sheeesh I did a lil dance. The wife and daughter had the chicken nachos and they both were in a food coma afterwards. The vibe of the place is lovely walk into the store with a scripture on the mirror daily which is a breath of fresh hair for me. The shrimp empanadas was great, however they didn't have many shrimp inside, but the flaky crust was delish!

We saw the sign on 95, while we were looking for a place to stop off for lunch on way from FL to VA. So glad we did! The ambience was fun and the restaurant was super clean. We were greeted warmly and our server was super friendly. The food was amazing and fresh. The owner (or maybe manager) came by and greeted each table. We just wish it was closer!

The interior was charming and had Bible verses all around. The quesadillas had high-quality cheese with a great cheese pull. The pico de gallo, rice, and beans in my bowl were incredibly flavorful and rich--honestly, the best I've ever had. The guacamole and salsa were also excellent, fresh and full of flavor. The staff were friendly and attentive. I really love the use of beef tallow, not seed oils! The family owned restaurant seem to really care about its customers and their health. Will definitely be back the next time i am passing through!

Because the restaurant is downtown there is plenty of free street parking spaces right outside the door. There is a bar, with bar seating, The other seating consisted of normal table with hard back chairs, and couches that ran down the side of the wall with tables, and hard back chairs on the other side. Overall, the service was adequate, not good, and certainly not great, but good enough not to stop us from enjoying our night out. I started with what was supposed to be a cup of Tomato Bisque but received and paid for a bowl. Somewhat my fault for not realizing that my serving and what I paid for was large and more expensive than the cup I ordered. With that said, I thought the flavor of the bisque served with, Garlic Buttered Crostini, and grated Smoked Gouda was outstanding. The temperature could have been a bit warmer, but again the flavor was sport on. The wife and I split a very large bowl of PEI Mussels. The Mussels were served in a white wine broth with Shallots, Garlic, Roasted Tomatoes, and Bacon. Honestly, I could and did finish the broth off as a soup. There were quite a few Mussels that did not open, but the bowl was so large, we wouldn't have eaten them anyway. The wife's main dish was the Pan Seared Sea Scallops, with peach and bacon risotto, and fresh Spinach. The dish was finished with an amazing Bourbon Peach Brown Butter Reduction. The scallops were large, the Risotto was great, but the brown butter reduction was the absolute star of the dish. For my main dish I had the Curried Lamb Lollipops, served over Cilantro Basmati Rice, and roasted Tomatoes with an excellent curry sauce. The chops were of good size and cooked to perfection. And please don't even get me started on the fired Garlic Butter Paratha which is some of the best bread I have ever had. My mistake was ordering a side of the Peach and Bacon Risotto similar to what was served with the scallop dish. Without the Bourbon Peach Brown Butter Reduction however, the risotto ate a little dry and had little to no peach flavor. I finished my meal with a bourbon , Mascarpone, bread pudding, which was amazing. The dish was loaded with bourbon which both my wife and I agreed was not completely cooked off. Great dish to finish an outstanding meal. Even with a few minor missteps, the overall flavor of the dishes were so good, I still must give it an overall 5.
