Delish food and drinks! I've been here twice now. The last time we only came by for drinks but last night we took food to go after their Sunday funday live music! I had the pulled pork plate with Mac and cheese and baked beans as the sides. It also came with Texas toast and bbq sauce. Everything was fantastic! Others in the group had wings, bbq sandwich, turkey sandwich, and Mac and cheese. Everyone was pleased with their orders! Their spicy margaritas were delish!! We bought tshirts this time for the mems to bring back with us to Charlotte. I can't wait to come back next time we are in town! read more

Sunday afternoon, had been here before and liked it. Today the mood was burgers. Here's what we liked- * Always a cool vibe. * Friendly service. * Many tvs to watch your fav games * Pulled pork was good * Sweet potato tots are good. What could of been better: * The burgers. Huge L on these. 5 burgers and 5 unhappy sad faces. I'm guessing a sad frozen patty on a lukewarm grill. No sear, no flavor and not confident it was even beef. Have had better burgers in a middle school cafeteria. * Fries hot but basic crinkle cut with little to no seasoning. We will be back- it's a cool Place and vibe. Drinks yes burgers a definite no. read more

I had the pulled pork sandwich. Meat had a really good flavor and not fatty like you can sometimes get with pulled pork. Good barbecue sauce available at the table. My wife had the smoked turkey. She said it could have been a little smokier flavor, but it was good. Order came out pretty quickly. It's a casual place with a great, relaxed beach vibe that subtly encourages you to hang out for hours knocking back some adult beverages with familiar island music. We would like to come back on a live music night because I'm sure it would be fun. read more

Great little spot near the beach. Very casual and the staff were super friendly. Appreciated the fast service as well. I really liked the sides better than the actual chicken. read more

Beachcomber BBQ & Grill - Smoked Chicken Breast And Wing - Barbeque Near Me - St. Simons Island, Georgia

We visited Beachcomber BBQ & Grill today for lunch. We've been including it on our foodie travels down the coast of Georgia for years. The gentleman taking our order was friendly and the service was quick. This is a dive bar with loyalties to the University of Georgia. We Auburn alums were welcomed just the same. For the first time, we tried the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious, especially with the hotter BBQ sauce. Also for the first time, we tried the onion rings. They were good, wide cut and thick battered. Cooked perfectly. We got our standard hamburger, the Dixie Burger with bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo. It is a very large burger, easily split for two. All in all, the Beachcomber is a place we will always return to for solid food, good prices, friendly atmosphere and quality service. read more

Part of this is on us in that we came in at 8:35, and they close at 9:00. Burger was big and ok. Lettuce looked iffy so took it off. Tomato the same. Biggest disappointment was they were out of the drink I ordered. With that in mind, they should have taken it off my bill, especially since tea tasted a bit off, too. read more

Well liked for their hamburgers by locals fun shabby chic roadside look to the place pretty much self service

This place is out of control!!! Let's start with the service. I ordered ribs and brisket and my homeboy ordered the brisket plate. We also got smoke wing app in buffalo sauce. The amount of food per plate is crazy large! The bbq is also crazy good!!! Also I love the ambience! I will be coming back to this place when I'm in the area. I would like to give a shot out to the kitchen staff for their recommendations and service! Totally recommend this place!!!! read more

Mimi Chapman was the greatest seever I have ever encountered. Her request for frozen drinks beckoned me. yet that was not the end. She swindled me into a magical experience of creamsicle and shots. Never have I been bequeathed with such service. She is gifted in the art of food and bev. 10/10 recommend Mimi Chapman as your server. read more

The food is absolutely amazing. My family stayed in St. Simons for two days and we went here each day. The pulled pork is lean and there's absolutely no fat in it. The baked beans are wonderful. This was the best BBQ I ever had. Every server here is very nice and they are so friendly. Their service to us was amazing. The environment was loud, but a good loud. Everyone is happy and laughing, not angry. They have amazing drinks and food, it's such a fun place to go to. read more

First time there and we had a great experience. Large portion sizes and great quality. Definitely recommend!

Just trying something other than seafood, and dang what a surprise. Cool laid back vibe, and good service.

Overall - this is a cool spot. I feel like it would be a fun place to drink day or night! We had lunch. You order at the window, inside, and they'll call your name over a loud speaker when it is ready. My friends tried a little bit of everything and my husband and I got the beast comber burger. Although my husband didn't love his, I thought mine was delicious!! I love bbq and burgers, so this was perfect for me. My friends enjoyed the Mac and cheese and hotdogs, but they did not love the brisket and BBQ (they're from TX so they have a high standard) It wasn't the cleanest place I've ever been, but it is definitely a beach bar. I liked the food and would go back! read more

Great spot for lunch. Christmas Eve day. Order @ the window & sit in or outside. Great relaxing vibe outside. We had 2 smoked turkeys & one pork sandwich. The turkey was moist & flavorful. Nice selection of sides. We even were given a peanut blossom for Christmas cheer! So sweet! read more

Knocked it outta the park. Outside beach vibes follow you inside to a rustic island ambience. Order at the window and grab some cheap drinks while you wait for your name to be called. The three meat special is enough to split between 2 or 3 people depending on how hungry you are. The ribs, brisket and turkey were unreal, as were the sides (slaw and Mac n cheese). Dog friendly outside in the patio and a fun bar inside with keno and other lottery. From food, to staff, to prices to vibes...this one checks all the boxes. read more

Cool hangout. Quick, prompt service. Very happy with my selection of the yard bird.

This is an amazing place the workers are amazingly kind they gave the little girl I was babysitting a coloring sheet and she had got artist of the week. Which was very sweet. There was lovely painting around the place. Amazing TVs and if you wanted to change it they would. In my opinion this is the best BBQ place on the island. read more

Went into the Beachcomber today and placed an order for 2 sandwiches and fries. I was given a pager and told that I would be paged when my sandwiches were ready. After 45 minutes and being aware that at least 5 people behind me received their meals, I went in to inquire. I was told it would be soon. I went in angain after an hour and fifteen minutes and asked again. The counter person turned and asked the cook, who stated that he had been paging me for the last 40 minutes. I told both of them that my pager never went off once. The guy at the counter said, 'Oh that is right, that must be the broken pager'. He told me he would put the order in again and I told him I wanted my money back. He walked away and about 10 minutes later the manager showed up and was visibly annoyed that I was requesting a refund. At no time, did he apologize. I told him my bill was $44 and that I had given a $10 tip. I stated that I wanted the entire amount refunded to my card. He handed me a receipt and said here it is. When I went outside, I realized that they only refunded me my $44 and not my $10 tip. I went back in and the counter person was unable to locate the manager and he gave me $10 in cash. Mistakes happen but I will not excuse the fact that they never apologized , or at the bare minimum call out my name if I haven't responded to the page. If you decide to go here, ask them to check and see if the pager works. read more

Such a cool place. TBF I didn't try the food, but the beer was cold and the people were great!! The lady behind the outside bar was very nice and always had a beer for me. It's a perfect spot to stop by while on your bike or golf cart and have a few. I accidentally met the owner and he is a very nice guy. Check it out. read more

What a fabulous old-school dive bar barbecue joint in the heart of the Saint Simons Village This place has been around the quality of food has not subsided whatsoever Just a stone throw from the beach and the king and Prince get here early with limited seating inside and out for outstanding brisket chicken and pulled pork It's hard to find a good brisket in the southeast but the beachcomber doesn't disappoint baked beans Wash down with a cold drink Friendly staff quick service read more

We swung by Beachcomber for a quick bite after leaving the beach only to be a bit underwhelmed. The outdoor patio and live music (that was setting up) along with coastal vibe gives this BBQ joint a cool atmosphere. The brisket, however, was overcooked and tasted more like a well-done steak than anything else. The mac n cheese felt a bit basic with not enough cheese and lack of flavor. My wife's hotdog was also average at best. I will speak highly of the baked beans and fries though as side options. read more

3 meats 2 sides and 2 seltzers for $35, that's crazy. The food was outstanding we tried the brisket, turkey and ribs. The brisket was as good as some I have had in Texas had amazing bark but still moist and tender. Outside patio had a beach vibe and was dog friendly. Cool little spot that has awesome food at good prices and may be a little ahead of the unnamed other BBQ spot on the island. read more

We stopped in here for a few beers and the ambiance and customer service was amazing!! The people were friendly and atmosphere was great!!

Paying $22 for a frozen beef patty you buy at Publix. You could tell that's all it was, the place is small, low light with very little A/C. You walk up to a counter give them your order and they ask for a tip as always. read more

Talk about a dive bar. I've been going to drive bars my entire life , you learn to know what you're looking for, what makes you happy in a dive, etc. Beachcomber crosses a lot of T's for me and my woman in terms of our Dive bar search. BBQ is not what you'd be expecting from a typical dive. Beer is cold and vibes are high. If the dive life isn't for you then this may be the introduction you need. read more

Sad the service has really gone down here. We have been coming here for years but this trip the guy was clearly unhappy to be working. He was not only enthusiastic but borderline rude. At 11:40 am they were out of several sides and brisket. He didn't explain or apologize. Nothing. Bbq pork was fine. Good taste. Sauce is not good. Thick ketchup style. Beans were good. Okra was good. I hope they can get themselves sorted. We will try again on our next visit. read more

Stopped by for some good ol bbq. This place is rather small with an area to sit inside with a sofa and a bar area in the back and there's and area in the front with picnic tables to chill and eat outside. When we arrived, one of the waitresses let us know to place our order at the window and to sit anywhere we would like. Once we found the full menu, we did just that and found a nice spot outside in summer breeze. The guy who took my order wasn't the friendliest but he took my order (BBQ pork sandwich with fried okra and Brunswick stew) and I was deeply saddened when he let me know they were out of mac n cheese. I've learned no matter the BBQ spot, if you don't get there before two hours of closing time, they'll be no oooooey gooooey cheesey mac n cheese. Anyway, I got my food within 5 minutes and was pretty pleased. The pork wasn't super fatty like some places and the bun was toasted perfectly. The bbq sauce had a nice sweetness to it and the fried okra was delicious. I wasn't that big of a fan of the Brunswick stew because it was a little too tangy for my taste but it wasn't bad. Very much a neighborhood spot where locals hang and a nice place for tourists to come and enjoy some good ol BBQ. read more
