Hooky Entertainment in Southlake is easily one of my favorite movie theaters! The heated reclining seats are a game changer! Once you sit down, you may not want to get back up! It's also more than just a theater. They have an arcade and bowling alley on-site, so you can make a whole day or night out of your visit. The food is actually really good too. I usually go for the chicken strips or pizza, but they also have healthier options if you're looking for something lighter. This is one of those places that makes you think, "Why didn't we have something like this when I was growing up?" We came for an Advanced Screening of a movie, but quickly realized this is so much more than just a movie theater. Between the bowling lanes, arcade, restaurant, bar, and theaters, it's the kind of place where you can easily spend an entire afternoon or evening without ever wondering what to do next. Date night? Family outing? Birthday? It checks all the boxes. The facility itself was spotless. Everything felt new, well maintained, and thoughtfully designed. It has a fun energy without feeling chaotic, and there was plenty of room to spread out instead of feeling packed in like some entertainment centers. The food was a bit of a roller coaster. We ordered the pretzel sticks with beer cheese (YUM), and unfortunately it just missed the mark for us. The good news? Our server didn't hesitate for a second--he apologized, took it off the bill, and made everything right. That's customer service done correctly. Thankfully, the wings absolutely saved the day. Crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The garlic parmesan came as the sauce for dipping, and it was fantastic!! If you're wondering what to order, start there. I love that Hooky isn't trying to be just a theater or just a bowling alley. It's a place where your plans can evolve naturally. Bowl a game. Grab dinner. Play a few arcade games. Catch a movie. Finish with dessert. Before you know it, three or four hours have disappeared. The only reason this isn't five stars is because the food wasn't completely consistent. But honestly, that's an easy fix compared to everything they already have going for them. Hooky is exactly the kind of business that gives families and friends another reason to get out of the house and spend time together. It was my first time at Hooky, and I enjoyed the movie theater experience. The seats felt private, with mini walls between every two seats in some areas, and there is even the option for heated seats! There wasn't a menu at every seat or a QR code available. The popcorn was good, but they forgot to bring napkins and a paper plate/bowl for sharing. Also, you have to get up for refills. At Moviehouse & Eatery by Cinepolis, they bring your refills directly to your seat. I also asked for a glass of water, but instead, I was brought a bottle of water, which was overpriced. read more

A great entertainment depot with an upscale movie theater, an arcade, and a bowling alley. I came to see a movie and truly enjoyed the experience. They have super nice seats and food to order, perfect sound system, quiet and comfortable AC, and very reasonable prices! Oh, and the restrooms are clean too. The location is great -- inside the Southlake Town Center so easy parking and many eateries and shops around. I also like their large seating area in front of the entrance, it's a gray spot for a large group gathering or as a meet up point. read more

I recently went to watch a movie here and had such a great experience! The place was super clean and has everything all in one spot arcade games, gaming options, a fast food restaurants, and even a bar. It's definitely more than just a movie theater. They offer bottomless popcorn (huge win ). I tried the chicken wings, which were pretty good, and the pizza was surprisingly really good for a theater! Where to start... When this place was EVO, it was one of our family go-tos for convenience. Unfortunately, ever since the company split and it became Hooky, the prices went up, while overall quality went DOWN. We decided to give it another chance after the change and went to see Jurassic World. The experience was disappointing from start to finish. The seats were extremely uncomfortable. My husband had something poking him the entire movie, and mine made a loud squeaking sound every time I shifted. Many of the chairs were visibly worn down and in poor condition, which made it hard to enjoy the film. The food was mediocre, which I could have overlooked, but that evening my son ended up with food poisoning, and that sealed our decision not to return. To make matters worse, the sound system was unbalanced, constantly swinging from too quiet to too loud, which made watching the movie even more frustrating. We used to love coming here when it was EVO: bowling, playing games, and catching movies made it a great family night out. Sadly, since the transition to Hooky, it's lost all of that appeal. Until major improvements are made, we won't be back. read more

We used to love EVOO. This place is a joke. Asked for two waters NOT WATER BOTTLES just cups of water and said we didn't want to order any food. Brought us 2 Dasani water bottles which are $5 each!!!!!!!! That's $10 for two waters with absolutely no warning of upcharge for bottled waters. This place has gone downhill. The theatre was dirty inside. Didn't have TWO of the desserts we wanted to order. Ordered a different then came 20 minutes later to tell me they were out of it...Service is meh. This place is amazing. We came in town for a Wedding and though the Reception was the next day we can call our visit to Hooky's the after party. I know that whoever is reading this is thinking the same thing I was thinking. But I was wrong. Going here was a great idea because it gave family who came from all over the country and let me say we had a Blast. It was the perfect place for family to get reunited in a place made for fun. There was Bowling, Food, Games and a Bar. I have to acknowledge Ashton and his Crew who were top notch with Service and Assistance. I can honestly say that Ashton is now part of our family. What a great Manager! He saw to our ever need and made sure the unusual evening went well. The new Menu ( According to them) was great, but let me put y'all on. My favorite Wings are Lemon Pepper. Though they weren't on the Menu they had Lemon Pepper Seasoning. I asked for them to dry rub my full order with it and they accommodated easily. Those were some of the best Wings I've ever had. They should really put those on the Menu. In total we probably ordered at least 4 full orders including the Garlic Parmesan Wings. Burgers were delicious as well as the Loaded Waffle Fries. The Bartender also did a great job keeping our Glasses full. He was busy for a while lol. I should have taken more pictures but I was caught up with family I hadn't seen in a while and it slipped me. Kids loved playing The Games and Adults as well as the kids head a great time Bowling. When coming back to the Dallas area South Lake seems to be a great location that was central to our stay. The atmosphere was AMAZING and so was the greeters, and cashiers. The theater and surrounding areas were also clean. My rating being so low was due to the food I ordered. I had the blackened Caesar salad and I was really hungry. The salad came out with the lettuce SATURATED in dressing, probably to cover up how horribly wilted it was, that thing that was supposed to be chicken thighs was AWFUL and BONE DRY!! I couldn't take a picture because I didn't want to disrupt the people in the theater. If you are HUNGRY please don't go to Hooky and get anything healthy, they are known for all the things unhealthy and they are good!! read more

This is the Old Evo Entertainment in Southlake Town Square! Its a great place to: play arcade games, bowling, watch a movie, eat and they also have a full bar. Vanessa is a great bar tender, and the wait staff in the bowling lane was great too. Be prepared to spend some money because 100 credits are $25....Some games can take 10 credits. Bowling is $20 for a half hour + you pay for the price of shoes. Took 3 kids and spent $55 for an hour os bowling, $100 letting them play the arcade and over $150 on food. Of course you can limit them but just be prepared to spend more than $20. We went June 7th and it was the first night of the new menu and they are still working out the kinks. The food was just ok... nothing to write home about, but the place is fun. We had a blast! read more

This place has always been bad, but since it became "Hooky," it's even worse. My wife and I have been here three times in the past few months. We would go anywhere else, but have a tight window while our daughters have dance nearby during the week. - All three times, either my wife's seat or my seat wouldn't recline all the way. - It's the only movie theater I've ever complained about being too hot. - The prices for all menu items are astronomical. - Don't order a glass of wine. It's the smallest pour you've seen. I finished mine in two small drinks. - During our visit to see "Weapons," the theater server left the door the theater open. It's a very quiet movie and the noise from the game room was so loud. No staff ever thought to close (because they are nowhere to be found), so I had to get up myself to go close it. - On the most recent visit, the waiter for the theater literally went MIA. We pressed our buttons and he never showed up. They were lit up for 10 minutes (I checked the LED board that shows that info on the back wall). We noticed two other couples with buttons lit up as well. I got up to go to the bar, no one there. Went to concession, no one there. Finally found someone and told them the situation and they literally said "yeah, he does that a lot." WHAT!? I then had to wait for them to find someone who could pour a glass of wine... got back and my wife informed me I missed one of the main parts of the movie. To top it all off, we were in a squeeze to get back to pick up our daughters.... The waiter literally never came back after the first time before the movie. Never brought our check, so we had to look for someone. Couldn't find a single soul working so we left. It's an awful moviegoing experience. If you're headed to a movie, go to the Roanoke Cinemark instead. read more

Fantastic Corporate Event! We recently had a corporate event at the new Hooky Entertainment in the Southlake Town Center. Kevin the Cinema Manger and Denise our event host were amazing and the event was perfect. Our theater was clean, with comfortable reclining/heated seats, and tons of friendly competition took place on the bowling lanes and arcade. The Southlake location, provided a terrible time. First off, the prices here are OUTRAGEOUS. I paid $7.50 for a glass of water, and $17 for a small salad, which was also incredibly sub-par. This was all on top of the original $16.50 for the movie tickets alone. Im not one to usually complain, but I felt people should be warned. Anyway that's all, overall Hooky Southlake is over priced and NOT worth it, just watch the movie at home. read more
