No other place in the Dallas Ft. Worth are can you get top-notch, Live Entertainment for the price.... Not to mention the nostalgia of being in a classic Reel Texas Theatre that was remodeled in 1995 according to their web site. The Campus Theatre has a variety of live performance brought to you by Denton Community Theatre, Music Theatre of Denton, Children's Theatre School, Tejas Story Telling and many others. I strongly suggest you spend a night on the historic Denton Square for an evening out that includes a live show at The Campus Theatre. Great venue to see a show... and I would say Theatre Denton is one of the best in the area.

Theater marque adds a lot of character to downtown. Nice resource to have for little city like Denton.

This is ridiculous. I'm assuming the manager is not trained well or lost the paper with the contact information. This theater didnt make an accident report when my wife fell with the theater stairs. There was no lighting for your feet when using the stairs during the movie. It was dark, and she fell and busted up her knee. She didn't want to make a commotion and waited for the movie to be over, and we reported it right after. The attendant contacted a manager we spoke to him about it. I stated that I have seen theaters with lighting with the stairs, but didn't see that here, and that my wife busted up her knee. Wanted to report it for documentation. He said ok and left to go get something. We thought he was getting an incident/accident form to fill out, and all he brought was blank paper and a pen. Had her leave her name and number. He did offer an ambulance and a band-aid, but nothing else. He didn't offer her a chair when she was showing pain standing. He said someone would contact her the next day. No one has called about it. With a big chain like this, there is usually a protocol for accidents and forms to fill out for liability, and there was nothing. I don't know if he wasn't trained well or they didn't take it seriously. My wife is still in pain, and in the picture that I'm attaching is all the bruising that is developing. I dont recommend this theater especially for safety concerns.

The Denton Alamo is the first one I've visited outside of SF. It's a very different experience,…read moremore like a regular theater than I expected, but still a great place to watch a film. I was in theater 1, which was stadium style seating with very plush, reclining seats. This was very much like big chain theaters I've been to. Fortunately, this was minus all of the annoying advertisements that come with those theaters and instead Alamo's fun intro shorts. Food and drink, of course, were on point with the usual Alamo selections. The vegan cauliflower with the gochujang sauce were stellar and there were many good beer selections available. Service was incredibly fast but perhaps due to the fact that I was at an 11:45am showing on a weekday. Still, I appreciated the friendly and helpful service when inquiring about seasonal draft selections. Enjoy the film!

The best place in Denton to see a movie, with decent food and beer. As with all theaters,…read moreeverything is a bit pricey. Cool seasonal / rotating / special event menus so there's always something new. The folks who work here are great, but there are never (and I do mean NEVER) enough of them. My favorite terrible example is that there is always just one bartender on duty every Monday when the bar is always completely full for trivia. 17-20 teams, each team with multiple people, ordering drinks and food for more than two hours... and there's one person working. The in-theater waits are equally rough, and they still close you out early, which means the servers disappear about halfway into the film. Note that tips are added automatically. A fair practice but a good thing to keep in mind!

First, a quick parking PSA: the app to pay for parking is kind of a nightmare, and the questionable WiFi did not exactly help the situation. Save yourself the frustration and just find easy street parking if you can. Your future self will thank you. Now onto the show. Maybe my expectations were the problem, but I was imagining something like incredible space visuals synced with the album, a true planetarium experience that would make you feel like you were floating through the universe. Instead, it was a lot of repetitive visuals with a sort of attempted kaleidoscope Steampunk vibe that never quite landed for me. At one point during the show, I honestly thought, "Maybe this was created by a university student as a cool student project." And honestly, if that were the case, I would have thought it was a pretty solid effort. Then I found out this is a national release and I was a little confused. That said, plenty of people in the theater seemed to be enjoying it, so maybe I am just being a little picky. Perhaps years of living in places like San Francisco and New York have made me a slightly spoiled arts snob who needs to lower my expectations. But also... do I really want to???? (ummmm...thinking "no" I do not want to) The good news is the tickets were only around $20 to $40 a seat, so it was still a reasonably priced night out. I am glad I tried it, but I probably would not rush back for another one.
