First the positives. The food was good. We had two fish dishes and the quantity and quality were good for the price. The seaside ambiance was good also although the main dining room was very loud at the tables. We moved to the booth area in the back where we could converse. Service was good. Attentive. The only thing we didn't like was the drink sizes. The martinis are served in a tiny glass and the wine pour was small. 6 ozs I'm guessing. We decided to try this newish restaurant on a rainy night hoping it wouldn't be too crowded (most restaurants in Jupiter are always busy). We were pleasantly surprised being seated right away and the server was at our table within minutes. So far, so good. As we looked over the menu I was shocked to see a bottle of red wine priced at $150! Now, while this price isn't unusual at a Palm Beach restaurant, HOJ is a casual, coastal beachy style ambience. Speaking of ambience, there were only 3 tables with customers and the noise level was LOUD. I can only imagine how uncomfortable it would be with a full crowd. The food was meh, nothing special and for the $38 price tag I'd rather go to any other restaurant on the water, where at least there is a view, you can hear conversations and have an excellent meal. First time we've been to this undiscovered gem. The food was good, but some of the items seem to be working out the kinks of a new restaurant. Service was a bit slow, despite the relative emptiness of the restaurant. I was never given a beverage refill, though my husband received two lol. It was just iced tea and sat empty most of the meal. Had lunch here yesterday and it was delicious. I ordered the josh's ceviche and it was amazing. The seafood pieces were large and there was so much flavor. I got a bowl with barbecued salmon, it was amazing. It was really big so you could easily share it but all the components were super fresh and delicious. The attention to detail on this bowl was beautiful and I can see why it too so long to make. It has only been opened for two months and it was completely empty. The place is huge so I was hesitant at first and the menu I found hard to understand, I think they call sushi rolls "dogs" which is weird and unappetizing. The service was slow and they brought our app out at the same time as our meals. It is not fancy and is kind of kitschy, but spread the word, it is a must try! read more

We came here for happy hour and the food was very good. We tried the tuna, lobster and shrimp tacos. All 3 were cooked perfectly with good flavors. The ambiance is nice. It does get loud in the bar area. The service seems like they are still getting into their groove, but for a new place which was crowded it was expected. Overall a good experience. read more

I went there for a nice dinner. I was a little disappointed. The waitress told me the shrimp would be grilled. They came out fried. I asked for my french fries to have no seasoning. Stopped in after some shopping and we were pleasantly surprised at how delicious everything was. The ceviche was the best we ever had and it was served with tostones that were delicious. Large portion. We had some tacos from the happy hour menu and the salmon and tuna were both amazing and only $5. Terrible food. Calamari was big, thick, chewy rings ( probably frozen). Grouper sandwich had 2 large fillets ( probably frozen) on a hero with melted cheese. I went to hooked on Jupiter with a party of 5 on Saturday night. it was not very Busy. But I was very disappointed. The two appetizers we ordered were delicious the ceviche and the guacamole. However that's where the story ends. The tacos were absolutely horrible. They didn't even have any coleslaw or anything on top of it. As a local, we decided to try this on a Sat before season because during season, there are very few places you can get into. We must have picked an off night. We called ahead and there was no wait, when we got there it was 30 minutes. We decided to stay and get a cocktail and wait. It took 20 minutes for a bartender to acknowledge us, and then I asked the hostess how much longer, and it was another 30 minutes. I finally asked if we could be seated and order a drink. My thoughts are these. If your kitchen is slow or backed up, your bar better be doing lightening speed and appetizers abundant. The food was good and the portions were a good size. Not sure if we went on an off night but my experience here wasn't as stellar as most of the reviewers here. I was expecting a bright, well lit upbeat restaurant and was a bit surprised to find a dark, dimly lit restaurant. It reminded me of a chain of sorts in that the wall hangings were seemingly mass produced wooden pieces that looked like they could be in any seafood restaurant. I was thinking I'd see pics of Jupiter, past and present. Perhaps some beach scenes ? All that aside let's get to food and service. I started w NE Clam chowder which was scarce on the clams and sprinkled w cubed potatoes. It was served lukewarm and I would have sent it back if I could have found my server. A nice guy however absent at critical points in the meal. As a server myself one rule of thumb is to be there as soon as or close to it as possible when your party receives their food. Then, after what seemed like 30 minutes out came the entrees. My boyfriend had a burger. Very simple plate. He said it was ok but overcooked. I had the crab cake BLT which was meh. The crab cake was lots of filler. Where I work we have the same sandwich and it's so much better. It felt like it was thrown together in a hurry with no attention to visual appeal. I love lobster roll and it's the reason we came here actually. But I asked if it contained chunks of lobster meat but was told it's my biggest nightmare- strands or strips of "lobster" which for me is a very hard pass. The quest continues for a real, actual, Maine lobster roll. Also, I found it quite pricey for the quality and quantity. Doubt we'll come back. read more
