Every single person in our group of seven loved their lunch at Taco Shack. My husband and I shared a fish taco and a cauliflower taco, and both were great. We loved the cauliflower one so much that we ordered two more! My father shared his decadent dessert taco, which was also yummy, and my stepmother was thrilled with the churros. We tried eating here a few days later, but were sad to discover that the restaurant opens later on some days, so check the hours before you go. I do not like giving poor reviews but it's hard to even give 2 stars. This place was just confusing. $7 for chips and salsa. An average burrito that was basically just filled with rice for $24. $19 to start plus another $5 for making it "wet" which just meant a little bit of red sauce and some cheese. This restaurant is a casual ambiance with lots of culture! There's always Latin music playing with fun decor which adds to the fun and casual atmosphere. Our waitress was very attentive and communicated all the specials and dishes she recommended. Food was very fresh and tasty! Food here is always fresh and the service is faster than any in the area. I've had the appetizers from nachos to fried avocados but I always get the tacos as an entree. It was happy hour (!!!) so I got street tacos but the regular quesobirria tacos can't be beat. The meat is tender and full of flavor. Highly recommended the birria in any way at this place. Tried out Taco Shack for Taco Tuesday. It's not my first time here, so I can confidently say the quality is rock bottom. The birria tacos were acceptable. However, the house margaritas were horrible. We ordered the Mexican Street Corn. It was corn from a can with the liquid from the can and a bit of cheese. No seasoning. Service at the bar was great! The manager was visible, but was not checking on customers or quality of food/presentation. As a local, I like to support local businesses, but honestly. We recently went to dinner in Abacoa and that restaurant was pretty empty but we passed Taco Shack and it was packed, so we decided to eat at Taco Shack the next time we ate in Abacoa. We went there with another couple this week and we each had two of their gourmet tacos, which were better than any tacos we have ever had any place else! They have a happy hour until 6 PM and daily specials. Our server Jeff was very helpful and friendly, and he booked us a reservation to go back in a couple weeks, requesting the same outdoor table and Jeff as our server. We can't wait! read more

I've only ordered from here a few times on Uber Eats, but have never really had a bad experience. I don't know exactly how to classify the food, it's like mostly all tacos with a bunch of variations, ranging from traditional to tex mex to Cali style. I've only ordered the Mexican street tacos (traditional) bc I don't like alot of toppings on my tacos, and they're not bad at all. The ingredients are fresh, and seasoned nicely. The tortillas however, are not that great, and are very small. The best tacos/dish BY FAR are the quesabirria tacos! The birria style beef is melted with cheese, and the taco is crisp and soft dipping it into the beef consume, it's insane. I'd really only come back here for this, it's their signature dish imo. The torta sandwich is not traditional, and the bread they use is like a thin, toasted baguette, and is on the smaller side yet again. It's definitely not a "hoagie roll", and is crunchy and mushy. Very average, and the only traditional protein they offer is carne asada, no Al pastor, barbacoa, etc. Lastly, the sauces here are very hit or miss. The queso is sooo addicting and delicious, I could drink it it's so good. Very original and homemade, lots of seasoning and good spice, and the homemade chips are seasoned and cooked nicely as well. My biggest complaint is the salsa roja hot sauce; it tastes like a bunch of vegetables blended in a mop bucket, and is not even mildly spicy. It just has this weird aftertaste, and is disgusting and almost inedible. I need hot sauce on my Mexican food, and despise Mexican restaurants who don't have at least one good, homemade hot sauce to put on their food. That's just me, but my rule is that if they're homemade hot sauce isn't good, look for another place. I probably won't be back unless I get some quesabirria tacos and queso, that's it. read more

We absolutely love the food here! They got rid of our favorite chorizo queso stuffed bread and I still miss it. They have lots of TVs to catch any sports game. It was good, just not strong enough as the only reason for the 4 stars and the fact that a special was still 15$ . Little on the pricey side. Everyone was eating and drinking but us! At this point we were starving and thirsty! We called the other waiter attending his tables. Another waiter came out and we ordered he then he said that's the lunch menu! He asked what we wanted fish tacos 20 minutes later no chips or salsa.
