SUCKS. Was seated under a spotlight, service wasn't great and the food didn't taste good from the reviews I read. Decided to give it a try and wasn't what was expected, in a negative way. That's putting in lightly... Oh yeah and it's overpriced for the quality of food you pay for. Weird flavor combinations for the dishes. Wait was long. Save yourself the trouble and go get some crabs or a burger from some where else! read more

WOW! What a delightful find we literally just "happened" upon while searching for a place to celebrate our anniversary! From start to finish - everything was on point! Drinks were different, fresh, and yummy! Fried green tomato appetizer that I am still talking about...fish was incredibly tasty. Definitely the right spot for us to enjoy our meal and each other for the evening. Have been back since then and have yet to be disappointed. Will keep going and telling others about this little treasure. read more

Worst dinning experience in ocean city. Food was cold and oily. Ordered appetizers Calamari and Shrimp which was suggested by their server as best dish. Do not recommend for anyone. read more

This was my 2nd visit here. Had the rockfish tacos as an appetizer. They were excellent. The spicy mayo was particularly tasty and complemented the fish well. Ordered the pan seared scallops and grits as my main course. It was exceptionally good as well. Cooked perfectly and they tasted very fresh. The grits were also good. However, after seeing other photos of the same dish on here I was surprised that I only received 4 scallops whereas other photos had more. Perhaps, they ordered extra or perhaps they've changed their serving amount, oh well. I left highly satisfied with the friendly service and taste of the food. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the OC area in search of high quality seafood dishes. read more

Meh- the crab cakes were very good quality but had very little seasoning. The salads were pretty good but not quite substantial enough. I wouldn't recommend the Caesar salad because they used the green tops that are not crisp. Not what I'm looking for in a ceasar and the dressing was not very flavorful. Service was very good. read more

Wasn't crazy about the loud hybrid sports bar atmosphere, but the food was amazing...

Could not have been more disappointed. Of course based on the current reviews my girlfriend and I are clearly in the minority here but we could not have more displeased with Hooked. We came here on the first night of our OCMD trip because we wanted something special however what we received was tasteless dishes, mediocre atmosphere, and an unwarranted hit to the wallet. We understand the concept of farm to table that this place is trying to achieve and how subsequently that it will tend to raise the cost of goods which in turn passes the expense on to the consumer however; at no point did we taste or see this value. Now these above average prices could be easily justifiable if the food was enjoyable but as you could have guessed it was not. Special lowlight: my girlfriend ordered the crab cake entree which was littered with shell rendering it basically inedible. Overall not impressed and we thoroughly enjoyed every other place in Ocean City more than hooked by far. read more

Food was beyond delicious! We came here for a bachelorette party and the dinner was amazing. I had the seared scallops with grits and it was sooo good! The polenta appetizer and crab dip was sooo good as well. Service is great as well as the drinks and ambience. Will def come again! read more

Came here on vacation with my family, and the best meal I had by far. The atmosphere was very crowded and the table near our booth was very loud, but the service we received made up for it. Our sever was very friendly, told us about the history of the place, and knew the menu well. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer which was amazing, full of flavor and had a great spice to it. For my entree, I order the cioppino. This dish contained a mix of mussles, scallops, clams, fin fish, and shrimp in a white wine tomato broth. It was perfect. I would go back and order this again. read more

Hooked - The cioppino was great! - Seafood Near Me - Ocean City, Maryland

First, the crab dip was exceptional, and that has nothing to do with the two old-fashioned drinks. However, the crab cake sandwich fell short of my expectations, much like the 2014-15 San Francisco 49ers. So much potential, and then...eh. Seriously, why wouldn't we throw the ball more to Vernon Davis, and why wouldn't the restaurant put some spice (read Old Bay) in arm's reach? The fries were pretty tasty - and I will find myself longing at night to make crab dip as good as Hooked, but ultimately it's about how the season, er...the meal ends, and that note was flatter than my 6th grade recorder training. Okay, it was better than that - I am being unfair, but that's what you getting for setting high expectations. read more

The salads we ordered were basic but you can taste the ingredients were fresh and the dressings were made in-house. The Boom Boom Shrimp dish was delicious and their mussels with marinara was perfection! Next time we would definitely get the mussels and check out their sandwiches. read more

Fish restaurant with a preference for decadent truffle oil. I visited for an event with a pre fixed menu and every item featured it. I mean not bad but why put truffle oil on a burger, fish n chips, and a crab flat bread. The flat bread was really good. My friend said the same of the burger but another didn't like the fish. This place is always busy and sells a lot of scallops and polenta. Maybe it's time to do something more adventurous. read more

After reading the reviews, I went with my family here for lunch. The restaurant had a good atmosphere, upscale, yet casual enough that we didn't feel intimidated going in. The service was quick and the waitress was very nice. The crab bisque was delicious, it made me wish I had ordered one for myself instead of just taking a taste of my husband's. The calamari appetizer was a bit on the salty side but salty is like the norm at most restaurants. The spicy mayo sauce complimented the battered calamari well and I found myself devouring most of it. The crab cake sandwich here has now set the bar for me in terms of crab cakes. I have tried crab cakes before but most of them were full of fillers and that's what I thought they were like. However, the crab cake here had a deliciously seasoned crust and had nothing but crab inside, and I was in heaven. The arugula added a very pleasant touch to the overall flavor of the sandwich. I tried a couple of bites of the oyster sandwich, which my daughter and I agreed wasn't that great (what was great was that there were plenty of oysters in the sandwich). I think it might have been the iceberg lettuce. I felt it sort of detracted from the flavor of the oysters. The fries here were crisp and prepared so well that my daughter doggy bagged the leftovers to munch on later. Since we were only here for the weekend, there really weren't that many chances to try out different restaurants, so I am glad that we dined at Hooked which gave us a great impression of the dining here. We will definitely be eating here again on our next visit to OC. read more

Caught between wanting to be a hip and a classy environment, Hooked falls short of both. The wings were pretty good, but the entrees were very disappointing. Overall, we left very disappointed. It was overpriced for the quality. We did have good service, though! Update: I have been sick all night since eating this dinner. I had to drop it down from 2 to 1 stars. read more

Service was great! For appetizers we had mussels, bang bang shrimp, jerk wings, and calamari which had the same sauce as the shrimp! Everything was very good! I had the lobster roll for diner which was also very good. Someone with me ordered the shrimp and grits and they said it was okay. Two others had the steak which they also said was okay! They had a special 3 course for $30!! That's was a good deal. For dessert I had the bread pudding which was also very good. read more

We came to OC for a long weekend and after two days of crab and casual dining Hooked was just what the doctor ordered. Ocean City has traditionally been awash in Sysco foods in local restaurants so Hooked is a real gem. OC has waited a long time for a restaurant like this! A great restaurant in Ocean City! read more

Followed the recommendation on yelp and it exceeded our expectations! Cute place, amazing service and food! Totally hooked on this place:)

To start, I should say I give five stars only for surprisingly exceptional, over the top perfect experiences. Our meal at Hooked was as good as it gets for me shy of that. With that preface, we had a great meal at this restaurant tonight. My wife and I each had a summery cocktail; both came quickly and were tasty. We ordered their calamari as an appetizer to share and, though they were fairly heavy on the batter, they weren't greasy at all and the batter made them all the more enjoyable. My wife and I shared crab cakes and two sides, grits and garlic sautéed spinach; all good and a good quantity that left room for desert. One of our kids had the fish and chips while the other had the mac and cheese and fries. The mac and cheese didn't look any different from boxed Kraft mac and cheese (though my wife now tells me it said as much on the menu). My daughter and I each had a desert: the bread pudding and blueberry cheesecake. We enjoyed both. The only real snag was when I ordered a beer at the start of my meal and it took too long to come out (I finished half my meal before it got to us). Our waitress eventually noticed and clearly pressed the bartender to get it right to us. read more

Awesomely good. The orange crushes are excellent and big! Loved the flatbread pizza with bacon and crab--so good! We had the scallops and grits and the cioppino -both we're very tasty and large entrees. Worth the trip from BB! Loved the decor and hip atmosphere! read more

The "Fried Calamari" (Appetizer) is a must try. Its crispy batter goes nicely with the rich creaminess of the spicy mayo coating. The "Jerk Chicken" was well seasoned, but a bit dry. The "Ciopanni" was a bit overrated. For $25, you get a nice savory soup like broth with chorizo, few clams, mussels, scallops, and fish (was not sure what type). I only wish there was more seafood within the broth. For dessert, I had the Oatmeal Coconut Pie which was a nice balance of sweetness from the coconut and a slight earthiness from the cinnamon and oatmeal. Although the service was very slow, the waiter was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, this restaurant really stands apart from the others within Ocean City especially if you are craving something other than seafood. read more

I don't know how this place is so highly rated. Our server was awesome but the food was mediocre and over priced. My husband and I's bill totaled $107 (two mixed drinks, an appetizer and two entrees) which would've been fine if the food was good but it was mediocre at best. The calamari appetizer was decent, no complaints on that one. My husband's crab cake wasn't different from something you could get elsewhere in ocean city for half the cost. I ordered the red curry shrimp and it was SO bland and some of my rice was so undercooked it was actually crunchy. I make better curry at home. Save your money and go elsewhere. The Crab Cake factory has a crab cake for half the cost and MUCH better. Just because they plate their food well and charge ridiculous prices doesn't mean the food is actually good. read more

We stopped in for a weekday lunch. I got the pig and oyster poboy, others got the crab cake sandwich and chicken sandwich. We also got bacon fries and calamari. The calamari was good and wished the portion was larger! The bacon fries were okay. My poboy looked good but wasn't that tasty. The oysters had to much breading, I wasn't sure if there were any oysters in them. The bread was stale and didn't taste right for a poboy. The pork belly was good though. I had a bite of the crab cake and it was good but I've had better. I was slightly disappointed at Hooked since it was rated so well here. read more

I've been to Hooked once on a recent trip to OC and what a pleasant surprise from so many terrible spots in Ocean City... THE PROS The parking lot they have makes it easy to park without driving around for a while or paying for street parking. Attentive service that is prompt, friendly and courteous. Very clean Food is delicious, especially the cheesy grits!! They are amazing! The salmon was super good and all the vegetables taste fresh and everything was cooked well! THE CONS The crab dip was a little disappointing..expected better so I probably wouldn't order that again. Overall, this is a great spot well worth checking out as I know I'll return next visit to OC! read more

Went to Hooked a year or two ago and loved it!! The bartenders were friendly, engaging and made great cocktails. Loved the food too. Went back tonight, excited to dine here again, and left disappointed. Same dish I had before just wasn't as good. Corn was chewy and didn't taste fresh. The truffle bacon fries were the highlight of the night. Bartenders took a while to a knowledge us and just weren't engaging. Never got the wings I ordered. I was more than half thru my meal and they still hadn't come out so I just asked to cancel them. Seriously, an app doesn't come out before your meal? Another restaurant in OC that has gone downhill. Sad to see. read more

This place is very good. I had some really amazing peach margaritas (they use real juices here! no fake mix crap). I also had the cherry soda alcohol drink and that was kind of disgusting. It tasted like straight cough syrup and I'm not sure why anyone would want to order that. We had the crab dip which could have used more cheese or any cheese. We also had the shrimp tacos which were very good (nice and vinegary). The pesto fries weren't super crispy but they were very tasty. Pesto on fries works! Had a great experience and enjoyed every bite of food at Hooked. We started off with the Crab Bisque (corn and jalapeños) and the Calamari. The soup was absolutely delicious, very creamy and you could taste the crab. It was not spicy as expected considering the jalapeños but still incredible. Calamari and the sauce which covers it were really the best I've had. Not one bit chewy and the flavor of the sauce was yummy and different. That was just the starters. We had Fish and Chips (a special) and Pan Seared Chicken as our main course. They were both delicious. The chicken was a bit more upscale with a great combination of flavor. The best part was the dessert that we decided to take home because we were so full. A chocolate fudge like bar with Coffee Ice Cream and Hazelnuts, chocolate also had salt on it. It was delicious, so rich. Back in our hotel room everyone was enjoying each bite. read more
