Loved this little Breakfast Nook located in the Belmar Train Station Plaza. The owner is on the Grill so the menu is consistently delicious. The Staff is attentive and friendly. It is small but the outdoor seating doubles the capacity on nice days. The menu is limited but assures everything is farm fresh. I look forward to coming back for lunch next time and trying the soup. We tried Peggy and John's breakfast joint when we first moved to Belmar about four years ago. We are now regular patrons. The chocolate chip pancakes are divine, the Johnny Hash is superb, and if breakfast isn't your thing their seafood chowder will ensure a return visit. Great food is one thing, and a pretty big thing, of course... but the other big reason we return each week: John, Peggy, Erin, Michelle and company made (and continue to make) us feel like we're visiting family... family with stellar culinary skills, but family all the same. read more

We had heard good things about this new cafe, but we're very disappointed. Our medium rare burger was well done on a burnt bun, bagel and lox was supposed to be on an everything bagel and arrived on a plain bagel, and egg and home fries came with a partially frozen hash brown patty rather than home fries and the wrong bagel. When we told them about the mistakes they re-made the burger and told us the only bagels they had were plain ones (after they specifically said they had everything bagels) and the cook was in training. Then they charged us for a soda which had been sitting on the table before we arrived and never cleaned off. Maybe it was because we were there towards the end of their day, but they could have been more forthcoming with information and an apology. read more

Came here for a filling meal before a long day at the beach. We were warmly welcomed and seated immediately. We ordered the fresh OJ, "beach" sandwich (bacon egg cheese hash brown) and the special shrimp omelette. The OJ was so delicious and obviously fresh. The egg sandwich was so delicious and perfectly made, piled high onto this soft roll. My special omelette had grilled shrimp, remoulade, tons of avocado and pepper jack, and also came with perfectly buttered whole wheat toast and breakfast potatoes. YUM. I would never have thought of creating this type of omelette but it was different, delicious and filling. Not to mention the omelette was $10 which was So reasonable! I don't know where to begin. Never have I been to a place where the reviews were so far apart from what I experienced. How anyone can give this place more than two stars is beyond me. I ate here for breakfast this past weekend. I had pancakes and French toast. My partner had an omelette. I buried my food in butter and syrup for flavor. She doused her omelette with salt and pepper to provide some taste. The sausage links were under cooked. The coffee just above flavored water. Lesson learned (which normally I follow) is to stick to my rule of checking date of reviews (this case only one in the past year) and checking the review history of the reviewers (not much here possibly indicating self reviews). Other lesson learned is to search coffee places instead of breakfast places. I like really good coffee and most likely those places serve food that is more than good. Like Turnstile Roasters nearby. To top off, over priced. Even if it was half decent. read more

Came here after watching the sunset with some friends. We needed some place to wake us up before we drive back to Philly in order to make it back to work. This place opens at 5:30am which was super convenient. Keep in mind there is no bathroom! It's basically like a bar, but serves breakfast food. Owner was really nice and attentive. Food was made fast, priced well, and just delicious. My friend got the French toast and he said it was better than one of our local breakfast joints back home. This is hands down the best breakfast place in Belmar. I was greeted by a kind, spunky and courteous employee. (I believe her name was Vita) It was good to hear that she was taking all precautions i.e. washing hands continually and using a disinfectant/antibacterial at all times. I have started coming here Thursday mornings after yoga and it has been a great little spot to grab a quick breakfast. I'm assuming it is a husband and wife that own it and they are super sweet and accommodating to any changes you want to make to your order. Do yourself a favor and order the pancakes.
