We went to this cafe because of its good rating, but we were very disappointed about the service and food quality. I ordered hashed corn beef and 2 eggs. The corn beef was burnt and the toast had a bad oily taste. In addition, we waited more than 30 minutes for our food to come. I guessed they were too busy serving others. What a great little gem of a place! It's tiny so you may have to wait but we were lucky and didn't have a wait and even got a tiki table outside. This place is a gem. Have eaten at Hooked Cafe a few times now, and each time it has been great. The food has been outstanding each and every time and the service is always friendly and efficient. Love the egg sandwiches, especially when loaded with hash browns and avocado. The tuna melt is also on point and delicious. Good portions and the prices are more than reasonable. Food is always well prepared with a lot of care.. this isn't fastfood so you tend to wait a few as it is prepared. I see from other reviews their are a few things I still need to try!! Fish tacos, shrimp wrap.. yum! My boyfriend tried the Hooked omelet and yeah.. we're both hooked, pun intended. For my dog peeps, outside is dog friendly. Decided to go there for a bite to eat before my boyfriend and I got on the train. He got a pork roll, egg, and cheese sandwich with a hash brown on it. I got the veggie sandwich as a wrap with tahini added in. I am vegan and the owner was so accommodating about making sure I loved what I got. It was honestly the best veggie wrap I've ever had. Hooked is reopen and better then ever. From the the best vegan black bean burgers with fresh avocado to pork roll. There is something delicious for everyone. Came here with some friends for breakfast. They have an interesting menu, nice coffee and the food here was really good, but the waitress kept trying to take my plate off the table while my wife was still eating. This is just rude, and really shows the lack of wait etiquette. Then, when i wanted the check, i had the stand on the chair and wave my arms. Plus they are only really open in the early day, and with the sun beaming in the window it was very uncomfortable. From a purely food perspective, I would say Hooked has the best breakfast in the area and i have been to them all. From comfort and service angle, not so great! The owners of this place clearly understand good food and have great menu ideas, but it is always a sad surprise when an establishment goes so far to conceive of, and put together a restaurant and doesn't understand service. Not gunna be a hang spot but might go back on a cloudy day if i feel like good breakfast and crappy service. read more

Wanted a change from our fave Surf Taco. But then I heard there were broiled cod fish tacos on special, and I had to order them. Fresh and delicious, fish cooked perfectly, with a generous ripe avocado wedge for each of the three tacos. Husband got French toast--generous portion of thick French bread style.
