I stopped in here to get a salad before a hair appointment. I got a modified salad with arugula, carrots and tomatoes. The size of this salad was huge and I was eating it for a very long time. I liked how they listened to my modifications and gave me the exact salad that I requested. I went back another time with a friend and she love her wrap she got and I loved the salad that I got. The restaurant is always packed and that says a lot! I also found the latte from the coffee bar to be tasty. I got a wrap to go for my mom and they got the order incorrect. I loved how they worked on it to get it right and they also gave my mom extra tortilla chips (which she enjoyed). We all really enjoy this place! read more

While vacationing in Point Pleasant, we chose the Beanery to meet up with a friend. We weren't disappointed. The atmosphere is "coffee-house casual" - very comfortable. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food choices are pretty varied. Our sandwiches were tasty and the meat and veggies were very fresh. The bread was delicious as were the coffee and iced tea. I am relocating to the area and this restaurant was one of the first cafes I discovered. A hidden gem! I initially went there with my 18 year old daughter and her friend and the 3 of us loved it. The beanery is casual with a mismatched chairs/tables atmosphere, and relaxed vibe. Nothing fancy. But the service combined with the menu options made it an instant favorite go to place for me. I've been back 3 times. The young women who work there are so chill. I can sit and be by myself or with a group and feel equally welcomed. I ordered the chicken pot pie soup which was recommended by the server and it was the most delicious soup, so comforting and filling at the same time. I paired it with a tuna salad wrap and get this: they do sides of chips and salsa. I also like that they add apple slices and cinnamon to some of the sandwiches. Not common to see. Just make sure you review your check as I was mistakenly overcharged by $10 but no biggie as they fixed it right away. read more

The Beanery is one of my favorite lunch spots in all of New Jersey. They have cute, eclectic seating and tables inside and exposed brick abounding. It's sweetly quiet, with tunes from crooners like Norah Jones always playing softly in the background. On Saturday, I went in around 10am for a bite while waiting for shops to open and was able to be seated at a table for one with no issue at all. It's so lucky that they're right in the heart of downtown Point Pleasant. I always go for the BLT with avocado and a side salad. It's savory, scrumptious, and entirely addicting. They have such a huge variety of drinks too, so it's always fun to mix up my order in that department. Service is super friendly and they let you really take your time if that's what you're looking for. Will surely be back again soon. read more

I've been ordering from Beanery for years. I loved the salads, my favorite is ham and Brie on pumpernickel with apples and cinnamon and honey, mustard and lettuce however, last about two weeks ago I ordered two to go and when I got home, there were no apples no cinnamon and it was on rye bread not pumpernickel and no honey mustard. I raved about it so much. I took my cousin there for lunch today and told the waitress that the two I ordered a couple weeks ago not made correctly, and she was like oh they could've made a mistake or whatever in the back nobody tried to correct the problem and then today we ordered one and I said I wanted to make sure all of those things were on it. There was no cinnamon, and there was a rubber band in the salsa. My cousin could have choked if she swallowed that I think it's very unprofessional. They didn't give us a discount or anything. They really should have comped the meal because of the problem and they did not. I don't know if it's very inexperienced workers because there was never a problem before. And people should be paying attention to what they're doing. She was very unhappy with the restaurant today. Board of Heath would not approve. read more

I received a gift certificate for Christmas from my mother ($25) to the Beanery. It's a little pathetic to say that I have lived in this area for my entire life and I have never stepped foot in the Beanery; irrelevant but whatever. I was excited to check out their website, menu and read the latest YELP reviews which then made me quite skeptical. The menu is very artsy-fartsy, on the pricey side and reading many poor customer service reviews made me not want to rush here for lunch. So I waited and waited and waited many months until finally, last week I wanted to treat one of my very close friends to a nice lunch and off we went to Beanery. We arrived for lunch about 11:45am on a warm June morning and the place was quite crowded. There were only a couple of tables left inside but it was so beautiful out we decided to take advantage of the outdoor seating in front facing Bay Avenue. There are only two tables, by the way. My 2 1/2 year-old son was with us and it did take some time and effort for them to bring us a highchair which was a little annoying considering we were on the main road and I was struggling to keep my son on my lap until the high chair arrived. After about 5 minutes, my dining companion had gone inside to find out if someone was coming with our highchair. We then waited an additional few more minutes...only then did two servers come out with highchairs for us. Poor communication and a bit unorganized to say the least. Our server was Toni and she was very nice, polite and helpful. We decided to split a frozen chai latte to start and it was thick creamy and ice cold which totally hit the spot on a warm June day. I decided to experience the "Santa Barbara" sandwich, which is chicken salad on toasted raisin bread with apples & cinnamon (I swapped the raisin bread for pumpernickel)... I know it sounds like an odd combination, however it was absolutely delicious. I opted for swapping the chips and salsa for their fresh fruit salad (I've always loved salsa but my stomach unfortunately now doesn't)... the fruit salad was a generous portion, fresh and very refreshing. I was 100% happy with my meal. My dining companion enjoyed the "Big Sur" wrap which is shrimp, feta, veggies, avocado and bacon, rolled into a whole wheat wrap. He very much enjoyed it as well as the chips and salsa. Unfortunately, nobody came to refill our waters or to ask how our meals were, to take our trash away or to even bring us our bill. We had to flag down two different servers; one to clear our table off and another one to find our bill. Very disappointing. The food at the Beanery is fresh, healthy and delicious; we absolutely loved our meals. Downsides: they should 100% brush up on their customer service, attention to dedicated seating stations, promptness and communication between employees. read more

It's a shame that the experience was so disappointing today because the food was actually delicious. We sat down and our server must have been having a difficult time because we were immediately met with an attitude, drinks dropped onto the table like we were an annoyance. When the food came we were giving a plastic fork & knife for one dish and the other had metal utensils. When we requested a metal fork we were told the dishwasher hasn't gotten to them so none were available. 5 minutes later after trying to use the plastic utensils I asked again if we could please have a metal fork and we were told we do not have any for you. She said "You can eat it with your hands or I can bring you your check and you can leave", I was in shock and mortified as people around us were looking. We finished my meal because I brought my friend there for a nice afternoon out, but was terribly disappointed and embarrassed. How dare that server treat us that way and I was the fool the who tipped her because I didn't want to be nasty , we won't be returning. read more

My daughter and I stopped in here for lunch on 3/23/2021 around 1:30pm. We were greeted immediately and shown to a table in the back. We were given menus by our server a few moments later. We then order two chai teas, hot, as it was a bit cold outside and we had been walking and shopping. Those chai teas were the best we have ever had. No question - we ordered them with oat milk and they were hot, but not so hot as to scaled your lips, creamy, sweet and jut soothing! We then order the warm brie and apples to share and completely devoured the entire plate - lettuce, grapes, apples and cheese! $10.95 and worth every penny. I ordered their Santa Barbara sandwich; chicken or tuna salad (I ordered chicken) on toasted raisin bread with cinnamon apples, $8.95 and my daughter ordered the Del Mar sandwich; honey baked ham with melted cheddar cheese, cinnamon apples and honey mustard on toasted raisin bread. (same price). They were delicious! Each sandwich is served with fresh made cups of salsa and chips - I wondered if they make the chips as they were really nice - crisp, thin, lightly salted. The salsa was bright and fresh with a a nice bite to it. The apples on my sandwich were slightly sour as they were green apples and I don't think their intended sweetness was imparted to the chicken salad, however, it was still a fantastic sandwich! And, they don't skimp, the sandwich as BIG! We each took home half. When we got out check I was concerned because it was itemized and I saw no mention of the teas. I brought the check to the back coffee/tea bat and told our waitress. She thanked me for our honesty and said most people wouldn't do that. Then we discovered she *had* added those in, but simply put the cost in the line below under beverages. We paid our check and were wished a nice day be everyone as we left. Small town coffee/breakfast stop that has all the cold distant service of a big city Starbucks. There's a sign to seat yourself and "Saturday breakfast 930-noon." We walked on in and sat, it took over 10 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge our existence. When finally someone dropped menus to us they only gave us menus for lunch when we had come for breakfast. It was another 10 minutes before we could get anyone to bring us breakfast menus. We ordered and the food took a very long time. Over 20 minutes for two egg sandwiches. When it came we began to eat, when I got half way through one side of the sandwich I realized the eggs in mine were very off color, this made it hard to continue eating them though it was likely nothing, a green hue in eggs is hard to get by. The Beanery has always been one of my favorite spots for lunch. My mother and I stopped by for lunch this past Saturday after struggling to find a place to eat in town. All of the other restaurants were busy and on a wait at 2:30, so we figured we'd give The Beanery a try. The restaurant was pretty busy, but a table had just opened up for two so we were seated right away. We were greeted by our waitress, who took our drink order - the mango honey green tea for me and a chamomile tea for my mom. Both were awesome. Our food order was taken and arrived literally five minutes later which was great because we were so hungry and the place was pretty busy. My mom had a turkey burger, and I had a special grilled chicken wrap with Gouda and honey mustard. I normally always look forward to the chips and salsa that come with every sandwich, but unfortunately, they were out. I love having lunch at this cute little cafe-eatery. It is very homey inside as the other reviewer had mentioned, and they have a great menu of wraps/sandwiches etc. I think the entire menu is on the healthy side which I love, and they have cute unexpected touches to each menu item. For example, all their sandwiches/wraps are served with tortilla chips and fresh salsa - which is a surprising treat as opposed to your regular pickle & chips as side items. My favorite is the Sonoma which is your choice of chicken/tuna salad in whole wheat wrap with apples, grapes and a touch of cinnamon (who knew cinnamon would taste great with tuna salad???). Their drinks are excellent also - i'm a big fan of the iced chai tea. It's a great place for girlfriends to gather for a light lunch and talk over coffee, but I don't see too many guys coming in to grab lunch. My husband and I love this place, but I guess I can't really see guys coming in for their tuna wrap with an iced mocha latte... maybe that's why I like it so much because it's a nice break from sub shops and pizza places riddled with rowdy lunch/dinner crowds.
