I was a bit hesitant to order it at first because I don't normally eat beef but all thoughts of doubt rolled out the window as soon as I took a bite. The sauce that it comes with really compliments the sandwich well in my opinion, and the pickles were kind of nice. The staff were very friendly, asked us if we had any questions, and did not rush or crowd us to order even if my family and I took a bit of time to do so. They were ready when I rolled in at 11 a.m. Good thing I brought my eco bag for my 8 sandwiches (5 pastrami, 1 chipotle chicken, 1 pesto deluxe) because they are very eco friendly. The sandwiches come in cute cardboard boxes with a fancy sticker. It was really quiet at lunch and people were stuffing their faces with these amazing sandwiches. When the cashier told me I had the correct order... I wanted a refund, but I was already really hungry so I decided to give it a chance. It tasted more disappointing than it looked. It was essentially a thin, dry grilled cheese sandwich w/ a slice of deli chicken. It was gross & overpriced FOR SURE. I wasn't even given the dipping sauce that the menu *said* it came with. I had the Pesto deluxe, while the Mistur got the Local deluxe (corned beef, hash browns with cheese). Corned beef is not deli style but canned corned beef. Both sandwiches were a bit salty. Be sure to have a drink handy. The smoothies/juices they serve sound enticing but for the price of it all, it didn't seem worth spending more than we already had for just the sandwiches. This place definitely lived up to the reviews! I ordered the chipotle chicken gourmet grilled cheese, and my girlfriend ordered the pesto gourmet grilled cheese. Mine was delicious. The bread is toasted and buttered perfectly, you get that nice crunch when you take a bite and you're instantly hit with flavor with whatever you order. But that pesto sandwich- every bite is perfection. As soon as I took a bite to try hers, I was floored. I also ordered the four seasons smoothie and my girlfriend the peanut butter nana and they were both amazing. I've been a huge fan of grilled cheese since I was a child and Honolulu Bistro definitely hit the spot. I ordered through grubhub this time, but will definitely stop by in person next time to check the place out! We visited the market and after cruising around the entire place, I decided on the bistro for 2 reasons, the food looked amazing but I was mostly impressed with the customer service. The ladies seemed so helpful and informative AND they offered a sample! Where do you get samples any more these days? That pushed me over to want to support this cute little place in the corner. We ordered the Amanda and the Berry smoothies, the corn beef and the pastrami deluxe. Both the smoothies and sandwiches were wonderful, however, the wait time was 15 minutes too long! It took almost 40 minutes to get our food. After we received the sandwiches, we still had to wait for the smoothies. They were lacking a system to get the smoothies to us whilst we waited for the sandwiches. I would go back for the food but I would have to reconsider on the timeline. By the time we reunited with the rest of our party, they had already eaten and cleaned up. Again, the ladies were very nice and apologetic. Just need to work on the timing read more
