Growing up, I remember my grandmother always saying how important it is to know a good plumber, lawyer and mechanic. She wasnʻt wrong! How grateful I am to have known Kalani, Sean and the Honolulu Autoworks team for over 10 years now. In 2009, I became a single-mother with five young children and, at the time, I was learning how to be independent in all things, including the maintenance of our Toyota Sienna van. Although my children are now grown, I can confidently say that our van lasted and survived over 15 years of distance, hills and near-accidents because of the TLC received by the Honolulu Autoworks team of Kalani and Sean. I always felt safe and secure, knowing that Kalani would have his team do a thorough check on the van and then give me honest feedback as to what needs immediate attention. Never did I feel pressured to pay for something I was not made aware of, nor did he ever try to upsell me something that was not necessary. I always drove away knowing that my van got the care it needed until the next check up and/or if issues ever arose. They say you get what you pay for and Honolulu Autoworks will definitely do quality work and bring value to your everyday transportation vehicle. You will drive knowing you and your vehicle is in the best of hands and serviced with Aloha! read more

First time experience was great. Second time Sean had an unpleasant attitude and very pushy to get us replace a part that will cost $3,000 to just pass the safety check, but we were able to pass it at a different place with no problems at all. read more

Professional, great customer service, HONESTY. Patiently explained whatever needed to be done & showing the parts that were replaced. highly recommend read more

Took my son's vehicle to Honolulu AutoWorks yesterday & was greeted by the service advisor Sean. We had spoke the day before regarding my son's issues on his vehicle and Sean offered to take in the vehicle that day, but because it was already the middle of the day and I work in Kalaeloa I asked if I could drop it off the following morning, which was fine. Dropped off the vehicle early in the morning, met with Sean, informed him that the vehicle was making a high squealing noise when we start it, the brakes were low and we needed a safety check..at first we thought it was the alternator, but it turned out to be the belt tentioner that needed to be replaced,. Sean also tested the battery and discovered that the battery was weak and slow to start. By the afternoon, my son's vehicle was done and all repairs were taken cared of, no squealing noise, veh started quickly, the brakes felt tight & they even changed out the cabin filter, yuck!. and my safety check was done. Thank You Honolulu AutoWorks for all that you do on our cars! read more

Honolulu Auto Works was the only auto repair I had to call. Sean, Service Manager was so awesome for explaining details over the phone and in person from start to finish. Sesn made the process seem so simple. And I am not knowledgeable of vehicle repairs. I'm visiting my children and their 2002 dodge truck had brake issues and air conditioning was shot. Sean and his team were able to complete the repairs in just 3 days! Their expertise and professionalism 5 Stars, top notch. My children now have a reputable auto shop to take their vehicles should they need it. A huge Mahalo to Sean and his crew at Honolulu Ainto Works! I will never forget the experience and Aloha you have shown. read more

Just did oil change at about 111k miles. Sean did a great and fast job along with tire rotation. He also gave me heads up about future things I need to prepare for: new tires, brake fluid, coolant flush. Thanks Sean for the wonderful service with a smile! read more

Sean and the owner Kalami were very professional and friendly. Very upfront on what I'd have to pay and gave me a couple of options with no pressure. Very impressed with the shop, it's ridiculously clean. Defintely won me over as a client and highly recommend this company. Most importantly, they fixed my AC. read more

Been here a few times after being recommended by my MIL about 2 years ago and each time, I leave with a sense that I was taken care of and not ripped off. I've had several issues with my truck and Kalani has always assured me that he will take care of BIG BLUE and I would get her back better than when I arrived. The prices and ranges of services are awesome. Kalani and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I also love coming here because it gives me an excuse to go to Libby's...lol. Awesome place to bring your vehicle and at a decent price too. read more

So after calling plenty shops, no one wanted to take on the job. Spoke with Sean and instantly felt comfortable. Took vehicle to the shop. Picked it up and all is good. Front main deal, oil pan gasket and rear main seal. Extremely customer service oriented. Will return to this shop. Did I mention 2 year warranty! No can lose. Aloha boys, be by later with Kaukau read more

These guys are a bunch of kooks who will rip you off!!!! They quoted me 398$ to change my ignition switch; it turned out to be a 19$ part that I replaced by myself in under an hour!!! Absolutely ridiculous, I don't know how they can sleep at night. The only positive thing I can say is they did diagnose it correctly; however shame on them for wanting to charge someone hundreds of dollars for less than an hour worth of labor. I honestly feel they were trying to charge me more because I was a chick and they thought I wouldn't know any better. Won't be coming back ever, and I recommend you guys stay away as well. read more

We moved from the mainland back to Hawaii last year and my brother recommended Honolulu Autoworks to us. Honolulu Autoworks has already been around for a year, but completely off the Yelp grid! That just shows what a quality company they are, and how they have so many clients and business that they don't even need the advertising! Well, I'm here to support anyway :). I bought a LivingSocial deal for over half off their $60 car care wash, wax, interior detailing package. These guys are so busy I had to schedule an appointment months in advance! Yikes! Service usually takes about an hour and a half, and I waited at the Lion's Coffee factory which was walking distance from the shop and was well equipped with free Wifi and delicious coffee drinks! Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Kalani, the owner, called back a little over an hour, saying my car was done early, and even left a voicemail and text message when I missed his call! His easy-going friendly personality, helpfulness with all my billion car questions, and genuine concern for my car needs really speaks to the culture of his company; the aloha spirit. He also says they only use quality chemicals when detailing; none of the cheapy stuff you can get from superstores! Only small complaint was that some of my windows had water spots on it and my trunk wasn't completely vacuumed when I picked up my car....But everything else was nearly spotless, and for the price, what a great deal! Kalani says he'll be pumping out more detailing/oil changing packages on LivingSocial, and I'll definitely be looking out for it! read more

So the first time i went here was GREAT. the owner is an amazing guy.... was very helpful and informative. i just went in for a synthetic oil change. i figured i go back cause i had a great experience. when i went back to pick up my car it was $50 dollars more than last time. i was like WHAT THE HECK. he said ohh there was stuff that needed to be done. 1) that's illegal 2)now i know that 3) if THIS EVER HAPPENS TO YOU CALL THE COPS right then and there! taking advantage of me just cause i'm a girl!?!? and he was like oh are you going to be short? i was like yeahhhh ON RENT! he was like oh okay. like no big deal kind of attitude. all due respect to the owner, but this guy needs to be fired. RUDE! im never going back here on principal. read more

The best auto center on the island. I highly recommend!!! Does the work right the first time. Great customer service and explains everything that is done and why. Goes above and beyond what I would expect of an auto center. Prices are very reasonable and Honolulu Autoworks only uses quality parts. I have been to many auto centers and none have compared to the excellence this shop provides. Most importantly, the service rep, Kalani, is honest to what really needs to be done and what does not. This is not a shop that will do work or a job that is not needed. Just take a drive by the shop and look inside. The place is clean!!! There is not a slew of cars pilled up. This means to be that they get the job done and out of the shop, running. I had my AC checked by one shop. Was told I needed a new evaporator, cost was $1000. Honolulu Autoworks diagnosed the problem to be a $10 valve leak. AC is working like new now. You will not be disappointed if you decide to see Honolulu Autoworks!!! read more

Honolulu Autoworks - Auto Repair Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

I actually found out about this place because I won a free car detailing at Aiea Bowl one night; they were so good I kept coming back! The owner is super nice and their car detailing is pristine. I have a dog who sheds like no other, and somehow they get every single dog hair and beach sand from every tiny crevice in my car. Excessive mud/per hair/etc. is an extra charge, but I gladly pay it for a spotless car. (And my car gets filthy!) They also wash the exterior well too, but the detailing is what keeps me coming back. read more

Very professional and great service! Great value as they wash and clean my car included with my service appointment

Kalani, Sean, and crew: *Accommodating, courteous, and professional: *Setting an appointment to work with my work schedule was simple and easy. * Extra work on my car needed to be done and Before they actually tackled the problem they called and explained what needed to be done. * when I picked my car up they walked me through the procedures they did, took pictures of the problem, and even showed me what exactly they fixed. I appreciate their honesty, professionalism, and work ethic. I would definitely recommend them to others Mahalo Nui Kalani, Sean, and crew! read more

Kalani and Sean get the job done! Great service and many times gave me options on OEM parts or aftermarket. This is my shop!

Got an oil change here and a safety check. They got me in and out within 2 hours and the price was definitely more affordable than other places I checked out. They were friendly and informative. As a first time car owner they taught me a bit about my car without trying to upsell me with parts/unnecessary services. Definitely will go back! If you plan to go, Id recommend getting someone to pick you up while you wait or walk over somewhere to grab a bite to eat/drink. read more

Professional, honest, detailed & prompt service. Thank you Honolulu Auto Works for not only fixing my car but for being so accommodating. Dropped off my car Sunday evening, Monday it was diagnosed & fixed by 3:30!!!! They just saved me money on my rental car as well, oh and Sean accommodated me with pick up time, he also took the time to show me the parts that were fixed and their functions as to why I was having issues. My wife has been taking her vehicle to this place for a while so when my check engine light came on I decided to take it in. Kalani, the Owner, is not only very professional but takes the time to explain what's wrong with your vehicle & is honest about all options. They were able to take care of the check engine light issue as well as a low transmission fluid problem for a very fair price. Kalani was recommended to me by my brother who also had work done there. Their prices were less than I had been quoted at two different places. I was expecting a dirty garage, but his place was very well organized and professional. After he looked at my car, he was able to tell me everything that was wrong, what needed to be fixed, and what could wait till later. He even too pictures of the problem areas as he inspected it and sent it to me. Very friendly and straight forward. Above all, he is a mechanic you can trust. Give him a call! read more
