Review #12 for 2022. I needed to get a safety check for my car, so I asked some friends for suggestions. Two friends suggested TS Autoworks, so I gave them a call. No appointment was needed, so I just drove over, and the one man there helped me within a few minutes. He was super nice. He asked for my registration, insurance, and mileage, and after checking things out, he took some pictures. The process was quick and efficient, and I was happy to give a tip on top of the $25 charge because he was so nice. Tip: Don't accidentally park in front of the bar next door. I thought there was shared parking because there's no signage, and the lady came out and yelled at me. You're a lifesaver! I was having a horrible day but your compassion, honesty and thoroughness made my day. Tony did such great work with my car that I've saved his number into my phone, trust me it's a big deal. He is now my go to mechanic for my baby. I've taken her back to get an oil change and safety check since her little breakdown a few months back and I will continue to bring her to Tony. He's a one man shop (along with his office assistant, which I'm kicking myself right now for not remembering her name) so keep that in mind and be kind. Went down to this place by recommendation from few people and the fact that it is walking distance from my work place. Their shop is not on the main drag and a little tucked away in to the Kalihi industrial area. Nevertheless a great place to go to get any of your auto work done. I came here for a all around break pad replacement and I did shop around. I shopped around and their price was same as most shops in town. They were a lot cheaper than Firestone and I would guess a lot better service. The shop is small, but fairly clean and organized. Tony is the owner of TS and very friendly and upfront guy. He'll give you the best case scenario and the worst case scenario in terms of cost. In talking with him, I got the feeling that this guy knows exactly what he's talking about ( I do know enough about cars) and I felt very comfortable and confident with him. I brought in my car in late morning and my car was done by end of my work. Anyways, I highly recommend this shop to at least check out for yourself and maybe even get a quote. My vehicle would not start and despite multiple attempts to jumpstart, I ended up having to get my vehicle towed. I was going to have it towed to the dealer but the towing company suggested that I tow it to TS Autoworks and I'm glad I took his suggestion. Tony communicated professionally and courteously. He was very upfront with me regarding what he thought the problem was and how much he thought it would cost. At the end of the day, not only did he resolve my issue, he also told me about a couple of other things that I had suspected were issues with my vehicle but which I could not put a finger on. After I got the car back from TS Autoworks, I could definitely hear and feel an improvement in the way the car starts up and runs. Tony and Kristy are a Professional Team! Tony was rccomemended by a friend, I called TS auto worksand they were booked a week out. I made my appointment but then my van started to smell like something was "burning" , and called TS auto works it let them know what was going on. They moved my appointment up! Tony,s Never too busy to take a call and Kristy the office manager is very helpful and friendly when setting up appointments. Turns out the trouble was the air conditioner compressor. Tony replaced the compressor, After a few days something was leaking so I had to take my van back, Tony went outt of his way to take my van in rechecked everything, and my van was fixed! Went to Tony to get my brakes checked and to find out why my check engine light was on. Tony was very helpful, straight up, and down to earth. He gave me an estimate on doing brake work, but also let me know that I didn't need to replace them just yet because my pads still had life in them. Where else can you find a mechanic that let's you know that your wasting money if you fix it now!? And to top it off the estimate was on point. Instead, he gave my truck a tune up at a very fair price and fixed my door, put some oil, and put air in my tires. There were a few other things that I was concerned about and he addressed all of them and gave me estimates that were far cheaper than the other "brand name" place, ie Lex Brodie. I was referred to Tony at TS Autoworks by Clint from CR Imports. My car, a 2005 Scion xA had been making a loud noise while driving straight & turning left. Tony is such a knowledgeable guy that as soon as I told him what I was experiencing, he immediately knew what was wrong. I also asked about a vibration & he told me that it was normal for xA's & xB's to do that at about 90k miles (mine is at 91k+, he was so on it!) Took my car and called in to see if I could get an appointment to get a safety check here. The girl answered the phone and was pretty cocky with her attitude a kind of attitude like if you want to come come if you don't want to come we don't care. Anyways I took my car in and walked into the office she said "he'll help you outside." So I waited outside for about 5 minutes while he was working on a car until he finally approached me and asked me what's going on today? He had a friendly attitude and was nice but when I asked to do a safety check he asked why what's wrong? like I had something wrong with my car. And I said nothings wrong I just needed a safety check. He said okay and asked where the vehicle was. I showed him and by one look of it he said no it's not going to pass because of the bumpers HAHA! bumpers doesn't have much to do with a safety check I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that I had aftermarket bumpers but what does that have to do with getting a safety check. His reason was because the system is sensitive now and it won't pass lol sounds more like he never like do my safety check... reviews looked good and I appreciate him telling me before he did it and failed me but I think I'll take my business somewhere else where they care about you giving them your money NEXT! read more

My fuel pump went out at the worst time. Thought it was going to take at least a week to fix my truck. Tony had it fixed in a couple of days. They also recommended an affordable tow for me. I took my car in and Tony said I needed to fix one thing on my car and to come back. So I called before I came back and the girl told me over the phone that I needed to fix more things on the car to pass. I told her that tony only said to fix one thing and I did. So I wanted to speak with tony and he was all of a sudden "busy" I left my name and number for him to call me back and he never did end up calling me back. I just had my alternator replaced today, and after shopping around, the prices here were very fair. On top of that, he was the only shop who would install parts not purchased thru him, although I ended up just going thru him anyway. I was pleased with how fast he was able to get me in and out of his shop and how he never tried to up-sell to any additional unnecessary repairs or services that usually accompany other mechanics.
