I visited hongs massage in buford. They offer a weekly special of 60 min massage for $50 Mon-Thurs, before 2pm. I opted for the table shower and the massage for $70. They didn't tell me that they shorten your massage time based on time it takes for the table shower fir the $70 priced point. I opted to pay full price for both. My cost was $80. They use a massage table for the table shower, as opposed to actual table shower table, which I prefer. May (my therapist), did a very nice job with the shower. Keep in mind your private parts are covered during this process. The massage was ok. Meaning, it was not a traditional Swedish massage, which uses long flowing stokes such as effleurage and Petrissage. Many therapist like to use knuckles, arms and elbow. I ask her to use her hands and she was kind to adjust. If you want a safe environment to get a massage without the funny business. This is a great place to go. Prices are reasonable. They do charge $10 for a traditional self shower and $20 for table shower. Other locations offer self shower service complementary. Total Health Spa about a half mile from Hongs massage in Buford has a very nice self shower (free) and they offer similar massage services, with no funny business. This is one of my favorite places for massage therapy. Yes, it's not fancy with online appointments, no tea/wine offerings etc. I go just for the massage and even though they have specials i never seem to need one during the special period My favorite therapist is Grace and I always make sure to ask for her. I should know by now to return when she's working because when i receive the massage from someone other than her, they're either not applying enough pressure or applying too much pressure and I have to crab walk for the next few days due to the pain. They have a punch card for frequent customers even though i lost mine right before i got the last hole but whatever. Hongs is a no-nonsense massage spot worth checking out imo. read more

I've been here over a year ago and didn't return. I was in the area and wanted a 30 minute foot massage. Since I couldn't remember why I never returned, I decided to try them again. Well, now I definitely know I will not be back. The 30 minute service was approximately 25 minutes. I asked for deep pressure and she replied it would be an additional $10. I said "no". She talked most of the time which could've been okay but some of the questions were odd, almost condescending. I let it go and just tried to be kind. Afterwards, as I was paying, I asked for change. Unfortunately, she didn't want to give it and told me they didn't have small bills so I said "fine, I'll pay a generous tip next time". I could tell she didn't like that. She told me to give her all of it and I replied "no". Then, she asked why I couldn't give all of it. The audacity. She continues saying they work hard and she wanted all of it. Wow. If I wanted to give a 25% tip, I would've, but in this instance, I didn't think it was merited. This discussion went on for another 3-5 minutes with me explaining to her the definition of a tip. She went to the back to ask if the others had a change. She came back with the requested change. Scheduled and paid for a one hour massage that only lasted 45 minutes. They thought I wasn't paying attention to the time but I knew exactly when it started and when it should have ended. I went back to this place to try it out again and I updated my review from 2 to 4 stars. I took a 2 hour, yes, two hour massage and the lady massaged every aching muscle and it felt great. I will have to admit that 1.5hrs is more than enough and you can tell the masseuse was losing strength and interest as well - can't really blame her either. They aren't as clean and friendly as Total Health Spa (which is epic) but they are a bit cheaper and when you're trying to save and get a good massage, this place is the choice. We went to this place yesterday and had one of the best massages ever! Hong's is Asian style, so if you don't like strong massages I would go elsewhere. Another thing to note is that Asian massage places are generally more bare bones than day spas, so if you're looking for a place to hang all day, this is not it. The venue was super clean and spacious compared to most Asian massage places. Our masseuses were super friendly and applied the perfect amount of pressure. Good technique too! And hot stone. Just delightful. Relaxing, quiet, intuitive. I came away so serene and comfortable. This type of massage is on the deeper tissue side, so be sure to voice your preference. Nice place, nice people but not as professional as I hoped. Multiple times my masseuse left the room to answer the front door and took a business phone call while massaging me. Maybe they were just short staffed but they did not add minutes to my massage from these interruptions. She seemed to be sick & coughed on my body several times which made me less relaxed & afraid of catching a cold. The oils they use are free but if they offer to use the cremes prepare for an up charge. I suspect the foot massage is the way to go. Um, just no. A massage shouldn't hurt unless you are a professional athlete getting kinks worked out. I had to tell him (there was no female therapist there) twice to use a soft touch. I cringed 90% of the time and couldn't wait until it was over. I guess I don't know understand Chinese massage but it was miserable. Also, I'm sorry but I just thought massage cream/oil/lotion came with a massage!!! He springs it on me 5 minutes into my hour long massage (after I'm already laying down and established) that it's $10 EXTRA for it! Nope, not making this up. I reluctantly said yes. Who wants a dry massage?? They get one star only because the therapist was nice and ask me a several times if I was ok (probably because I was holding my breath & cringing!). I was in major need of a massage and thought it would be nice to indulge while out running errands. They take walk ins and that's why I went there. I took my daughter here for a 1 hour massage for $45. First the lady asked if I wanted special lotion. I thought she meant for after her massage, I can buy special lotion? I said no thanks, it's okay, just the massage for her. Well when I came back, I was actually there early but my daughter was already done and sitting in waiting room. It was more like a 50 min massage. Then I go to pay, and she tells me $55! I said, no, it was $45. Well, she used special lotion on my daughter after I said no and that cost an extra $10!!! My daughter then tells me after we leave, that the woman kept leaving the room to answer the phone or to greet someone at the door!!! She also told me the woman was texting at the same time while giving my daughter the massage!
