You wait for the places that matter. Not the ones that open with a whisper and a bland social media campaign. The ones that take their time. Hong Yen teased us since New Year's. A promise of something real, something worth the patience. And when they finally opened..a soft launch, no fanfare; you better believe I was in that parking lot shared with the Food4Less, off Battlefield and Campbell. Rainy day, cold weather in the summer. Surprisingly the perfect combination to enter this newly renovated addition to the shopping center. Their old location is gone. What stands in its place? Something else entirely. Three to four times the size. Four distinct sections. Booths, circle tables, rectangle tables, even a bar with stools. Seating at this hour is self-managed: a small act of trust that tells you everything about the warm chaos of a family-run operation still finding its rhythm. But the bones are solid. The vibe is an unexpected comfort. Soft piano drifts through the air. The lighting is warm, upgraded, inviting. Faux vines trail from corners, faux bamboo stands tall, a video screen plays peaceful landscapes of Vietnam. Paper lanterns hang alongside actual glass chandeliers. Golden fish with kanji watch over the room. It's a total upgrade from the old spot. This isn't just a restaurant moving locations. This is a statement of intention. We ordered. My fiancée went with the Pho Thai: that glorious, aromatic bowl of rice noodles in a broth that tastes like it's been whispering to itself for hours. Rich, savory, soul-warming. I ordered the Bún bò huê but asked them to swap the standard noodles for vermicelli. A small tweak. The kitchen didn't blink. The broth arrived dark, complex, spicy. The Central Vietnamese cousin to pho that doesn't get nearly enough love in this country. It had heat. It had depth. It had backbone. Our kid got a simple side of noodles. Needless to say, everyone finished their food. Every bowl scraped clean. That's the best review you can give a place. Spring rolls? Fresh. Generous. Bigger than usual, stuffed with care. The service? Quick, friendly, attentive, even while short-staffed. That's not easy. That's experience. Hong Yen is a gem. A real one. Great prices, genuine hospitality, a family atmosphere that welcomes strangers and treats them like regulars. People drive hours for this. Now I understand why. Worth the wait? Absolutely.

And they are back!! First day they opened I visited however it was super busy and I had to leave before enjoying my meal. But this evening was great, a little wait which we were prepared for and this time I was not leaving till we got our Pho fix. We had missed this place so much. We were happy they are now open and like always everything is delicious and the service was great. We just love everything about Hong Yen.

Small and very busy little shop with some of the best meatball pho I've had. The broth was simply amazing and the amount of Thai basil provided was surprising and really elevated the dish. The fried spring rolls were pretty good, but not at the level of the pho.

Poor service, nasty hair in my pho. No refund or replacement.

This place is terrible. Not quite sure why the reviews are so high. I got a piece of hair in my pho (see photo). Told the waitress and her response was "I'll tell the kitchen". No sorry, no offer to get me a new bowl of pho, and no refund. She acted like I was an inconvenience. Do not come here they are cheap with their protein, the food is dirty, and the customer service is non-existent.

I found hair in my food. What made it worse was the complete lack of apology or concern from the staff when I brought it to their attention. I won't be returning.

We were craving Vietnamese and this location had good reviews so we gave it a shot. It's a small restaurant located in an Asian supermarket plaza next to a Boba shop. We were greeted and told to sit anywhere so we did. Menu has a great selection and one thing I wasn't expecting was clear noodles! Not a lot of restaurants specialize in clear noodles so I gave it a shot and I'm so glad I did! Clear Noodles: 5/5, best I've ever had! Pho: 3/5, it was a northern broth so it was a bit more clear but it was good. Spring rolls: 5/5, my word it was delicious! Their BBQ pork is out of this world! Service was good and I would definitely come back!

Good Vietnamese for a reasonable price. We stopped here on our trip to Arkansas. Nice little spot if you need a Pho fix or just some Vietnamese food in general. Good service, nice little spot and the Pho was not bad!

Visited here when I was in Springfield because of the other reviews on yelp. I had the rare beef pho which was great. I absolutely loved the broth. My daughter had the combination rice that she said was ok. Our egg rolls were delicious but the crab Rangoon was just filling but they were good and hot. The service was great as well. The restaurant itself was a bit dirty we also had to shoo a few flies but the overall food was good for me. I took a couple stars off because of the flies and cleaning that needed to be done.

Great place! I feel like you can't really go wrong with pho . They had a regular and a small option. I'm not sure how small the small option is, but I was definitely very full after the regular sized one. They were out of spring rolls, but we got the eggrolls . The eggrolls meat was a little more compact and not as loose as I've had before. But the taste was still good. I also liked that they have lettuce to wrap your egg roll in! Also the women's bathroom is so weird. There's two floor to ceiling mirrors so you're watching yourself go... lol very odd.. anyways, would come back!

My visit to Springfield, MO was really tasty as they have the most restaurants per capita so there are many dining options! In this cold mid west weather pho or ramen was necessary and I am happy I selected pho at this lovely spot. Their menu provides something for everyone with a nice variety of appetizers and main meals. I want to try more of their menu items the next time I visit Springfield! I am spoiled from the amount of high quality options we have in Las Vegas for ramen and pho but this spot is worthy so check it out! :)

This is the rare beef pho with thinly sliced beef. Very Delicious!!

I've been coming here with my dad for years, and every time we come here we always feel so welcomed and appreciated. The food is incredible here, i highly recommend the pho because the broth has so much flavor, There are lots of options and everything comes out very quick and fresh. This is my favorite restaurant in springfield it is very good! Whenever you walk in you're told to pick wherever you would like to sit and you are always greeted with friendly people. Hong yen is 100% a staple of Springfield So Try this place out it definitely will not disappoint!

The food was wonderful! Is a small place and obviously a local favorite. The servers had to really hustle to keep up. I'll be back!

Top notch chicken pho, my wife was very pleased. Egg rolls were the best I ever had. Only problem is that I live 1400 hundred miles away.
