Come here if you need Chinese ingredients, especially veggies. While they do carry some Korean products, you'll want to focus on Chinese products. They do sell some wild products like Durian and special Chinese fruits - they carried mango steams, but at $9.99 a pound, very expensive... The one bag weighed in at 2.5 lbs... $25, don't think so... I love mango steams, but at $25, I'll skip it. We came here looking for XO sauce, but they did not carry any XO sauces, so our primary mission failed, but we walked out with few other items.

A relatively large Asian market in Springfield? What? No? I must come-in for myself when I'm in town and need some goodies. This is family owned (meaning every1in the family works here and some of their small kids are usually playing around) and has mostly Vietnamese/Chinese stuff. However, the family isn't so friendly. Pros: 1) Lots of asian veggies (boy choy, bean sprouts, pea pods, etc.). But the produce will be shitty if you do not come right after Thursday b/c Thursday is when their shipment comes in. It's also pretty priced pretty high 2) Chinese/vietnamese sauces 3) Hot items like fried sesame balls and banh mi's (sometimes) 4) Rice, rice, rice Cons: 1) No fish tanks. Asians need fish in fish tanks and not that frozen stuff. 2) lack of Korean and Japanese goodies 3) Bake goods in the refrigerator which means they have been there for a while 4) no cooked meats (aka that duck stuff) The prices are high, but I really don't have anything else to compare it to in the area. I know the other Asian stores are either mostly Korean or much smaller.

It was okay, usually we drive all the way to KC for our Asian food supplies. There is no fresh seafood or meat counter and the veggies ranged from spoiled to just pkgd. Lots of shelves were highly disorganized, boxes were cut open on the ends and you'd better check the expiration dates on everything.

Awesome place to get unique Asian ingredients. We love Asian food and this shopping destination has all the stuff other stores do not have. Pricing is pretty fair and reasonable, given that we live in the Ozarks and there is a very small Asian populations here. Bring your iPhone to google and translate. Food is frequently not translated to English. Service is pretty good

This is by far the best Asian market that just opened on 3.12.2015. You can find most Chinese/Vietnamese ethnic foods here. Down to the Vietnamese sandwiches that were pre made. Although they had only 1/2 the store filled and the other with empty shells and racks. I didn't see any place for fresh seafood. At least this isn't a fusion Asian market. Love this place so far.

Found a maggot or mealworm in my product , cashier was very rude when I asked for a refund , she said it was a stick and they don't do refunds even tho I bought it 5 minutes ago.. idk ... it looks like a maggot to me ..then when I told her I didn't get a receipt she said I was lying and she gives everyone there receipt... very upset won't be shopping there anymore.

I guess I forget to check in at Hy-Vee because we come in here often. Back in the old days like 8…read moremonths ago we used to go to Springfield to see a movie at the Alamo a few times a month (the best theater in many miles but thats another review) and then we would got to Hy-Vee for groceries. Hy-Vee is in a whole different class than our grocery stores, not a Whole Foods but most of the positive qualities and some of the negatives too. Yes there are a lot of people walking the Islas being pretentious and turning up their noses and people they consider beneath them or because they don't wear the right fashions or are buying the wrong kind of free range tuna. Thats the Whole Foods experience that we don't miss and we find amusing at Hy-Vee. But most people are just there to get groceries. Now the good stuff Service is always great, they have baggesr! They are not very good and they are not trained in how to bag properly but hey they got em! Hint, cans do not go on top of bananas, gallons of milk do not go on top of bread etc. The selection is great, they have a great section of the new age, gluten free, free range stuff and we like a lot of it. They have pharmacy items and brands you can't get in Joplin. They carry more flavors and versions of food items that I can find anywhere we have lived in the US but are unavailable in Joplin because of the Walmart monopoly. They excel at the meat counter, deli, bakery, and cheeses from around the world. Sadly the only areas we are consistently disappointed in is the produce. They have lots of choices and a large selection of the supposed natural stuff but the produce and fruits are over priced, often in bad shape and of low quality yet at a higher price than anyone else. We tend to buy our produce in Joplin, at Sam's or Walmart Express and the farmers market. But for anything else, Hy-Vee has more choices, better quality and lots of natural, health-focused and free range foods. Its worth the drive.
