First time here, had been hearing good things and were in the area so decided to try takeout. My family of 4 agreed that the chicken itself is the best we've had, compared to any place in Springfield. Fresh, cooked perfectly and not too thick of a batter. Thankfully we all got our sauce on the side because my son has a severe nut allergy and he ordered the general which had peanuts all over the chicken. Since our sauce was separate he took the sweet and sour chicken and used his general sauce on it. We also had the sesame and cashew for my husband. All the sauces were good but they are very thin/soupy compared to what we are used to. Husband said cashew sauce was very garlicky and my sesame could have been a bit more savory for my taste. Our biggest complaint was these meals come with steamed rice, not fried, and there was nothing on the menu about fried rice so I'm guessing there is only steamed. That being said, it was good but needed the sauce on it. Also, meals don't come with crab Rangoons or anything else. All sides must be ordered separately. We just stuck with the meals this time. I would eat here again and would try the Rangoons or spring rolls. read more

Great food and can't go wrong with Springfield style cashew chicken. Easy to drive to and enough food for two meals for me.

I have been coming here since the 1980's! Just recently came back into town and had to have some Cashew Chicken and Hot & Spicy. Mr. Lee retired and someone else stepped in not sure his name. Doesn't matter because it tastes about the same and it definitely beats the "Cashew Chicken" we have in Texas. read more

Having entered the world of Americanized, Springfield-style Cashew Chicken, what can you do but embrace it? I am fully aware that this is not really Chinese food but, it's the Chinese food that I grew up on so, I still have a place in my heart for it's deep fried goodness. That being said, Oriental Inn is my favorite place to get Cashew Chicken in Marshfield. They use big chunks of all-white chicken, deep-fry is so that it's not greasy at all, and then serve it up for bargain prices. A jr meal is only 3.85 and a regular meal is only 4.95... that comes with rice or an eggroll. My dad even likes it... though he says he doesn't like 'Chinese food'. haha Oh, there's extra parking behind the building. See ya there! read more

Nope, just nope, walked in took a look at the menu, looked at the dirty dirty dirty entryway and over all restaurant, glanced at the food someone was eating and then walked out laughing at the ridiculousness this place was. Sometimes you miss the mark, sometimes you punch a hole into the space time continuum and create a black hole sucking all planets stars etc around it. Great hot n spicy chicken. Awesome crab rangoon and pretty good egg rolls. This place has hometown charm when it comes to atmosphere. You would not expect to find Chinese food this good 20 miles NE of Springfield, MO. They do not have house hot mustard, but you really don't need it. read more

Great little place. Kind of a damper they dont take debit cards not do they have a restroom. But its excellent cashew chicken. The hot n spicy is great also. Not a huge selection, but it's good. They don't make your call in order until you get there and pay for it... which is a bugger also. Wish they would accept debit for call in orders to be made in advance. read more

We live near marshfield, so this was the closer option for Chinese. It was ok. I got the hot n spicy which had a teriyaki flavor and not very spicy. My husband got sweet n sour with hardly any sauce. The egg rolls were gross, but the crab rangoons were decent. The place was at least clean so that's always a plus. It was ok overall. read more

Sorry, I could tell this is a local favorite by the number of carry outs they were doing, but this was a disappointment as we traveled thru. I overheard that it might have recently changed hands. Seating limited, very small menu, no hot tea on menu, order at counter, served on styro plates, orange sauce and cashew chicken sauces asked for on side tasted generic....no personality to indicate it was made in-house. Coating on chicken very different than typical Chinese, but it was "ok". It was my birthday dinner so the best part was that I got another dinner at another restaurant the next night to make up for the poor meal at Oriental Inn. read more

We have attempted to eat at Oriental Inn on 4 separate occasions in the last month & every time they have been out of food. Tonight we were there an hour before they were supposed to close and guess what? They were out of rice and were closing early because "he isn't going to make any more". SERIOUSLY!?!? How can you run a restaurant, advertise your hours, and then consistently not have enough food to stay open until your advertised closing time? Something else to be aware of...they only accept cash; no debit or credit cards. We of course haven't had an issue with payment since THEY ARE ALWAYS OUT OF FOOD! I'm hardly ever in Marshfield, I go maybe once or twice a year but this is always the first place I stop. My buddy told me how good this place is but I doubted it until I actually ate there.
