So my friend was in this store earlier and I gotta say, the way she was treated was as if she was a second class citizen. Manager Dustin decided it was OKAY to treat her like a second class citizen the moment he realized she was a WIC recipient. She had placed an extra item not meant for WIC on the conveyor belt and the clerk had to call the manager, Dustin, over. Dustin then decided to tell the clerk to "make sure she doesn't steal anything else." like.... are you kidding me??
Clearly Dustin Thinks that just because someone is on WIC that this automatically makes them a thief. never mind that she is a single mom with two kids about to start her graduate program. Never mind that she as zero record of ever stealing anything, never mind that she has worked her ass off to get where she is to be able to better and be better.
All that Dustin saw was someone who was clearly beneath him and treated her as such.
Guess what management, no human is beneath. The woman who you accused of stealing, and every other person stepping up to the checkout lines are the people who are paying your bills and putting food in your mouth and making sure you have a job to go to to support your lifestyle. And they all need to be treated as such.
