    Vermicelli bbq pork/egg roll

You cannot beat the vermicelli Bbq pork and egg roll bowl. All those fresh flavors in your mouth at once is decadent. If you order the Vietnamese egg rolls ask for additional lettuce and their pickled veggies and wrap that egg roll in them. Omg good! This is just one of those meals where it doesn't sit heavy and feels good!

My second time here. Takeout on my first time and dine in for my second. For take out, I had Pho Dac Biet I mentioned to the waitress that I'm staying at the hotel and that I don't have a bowel to eat my pho so she gave me an empty styrofoam soup cup with my order. When I got back to my hotel, I was not given any utensils or any condiments for my pho! I was so disappointed. I need my hoisin sauce and sriracha. Luckily I always travel with my own personal reusable chopsticks. The broth tasted good but once I added the noodles and the herbs and bean sprouts, my pho was tasteless. Today I came back to give them another chance. I ordered their Spicy Beef Noodle... (Bun Bo Hue). I can't believe they charged for a ham hock and congealed pig's blood to be added to the BBH. A typical BBH is topped with slices of brisket, pieces of ham hocks, and cubes of congealed pig's blood. What I got does not taste anything like the BBH I'm used to. The thin brisket I got was mostly inedible fats and the pig's blood should have been cubed size block but mine seems to be cut very small. When my food came out, the first thing I noticed was that instead of cabbage, they give you sliced lettuce instead. The broth was bland. I had to add fish sauce , shrimp paste ( you have to request it) lots of Sriracha and sate sauce. My overpriced BBH was a total disappointment.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Springfield, MO. Super friendly staff, food is always 10/10. Only downside is that is next to a store that smells like cigars and it goes through their vents.

Vietnamese food is one of my favorites, unfortunately we will not be stopping at this location again. The staff was very friendly and polite however we all had stomach/ bathroom issues. We all had different dishes but shared the shrimp appetizer so I don't know what caused the bathroom issues. The sauce for my vermicelli bowl was good however the meat was a bit tuff and over cooked. The quantity wasn't very much either. The shrimp however were pretty tasty and so was the Thai tea.

Amazing!!! Eating a steaming bowl of Pho tai alone and listening to true crime in my headphones is the ultimate in self care! The pho is absolutely delicious and the vegetables are so fresh. This place never disappoints. Highly recommend!

Where can you get SE Asian food, Wii play for the kids, Karaoke, and a Springfield-style Boba tea?! Bambu Vietnamese Restaurant of course!! Bambu is a cool lil restaurant that offers authentic Vietnamese soups, rice dishes, drinks, and so on. For Springfield Mo Vietnamese food, this place is a 5 star. If you're used to coastal Viet restaurants however, it might only be a 3.5 or 4 star. We went tonight... by 'we' I mean my Viet boyfriend Anthony H, and 3 of my nieces/nephews. We had... combination fried rice which was yummy, bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup) which was yummy and pretty spicy!, and a seafood Pho which was okay. We tried their summer rolls and eggrolls and while I preferred the fresh healthy taste of the summer rolls, the kids didn't like the mint in them and preferred the eggrolls. Their boba tea was... kinda a frozen ice thing with boba, not at all like regular boba tea but still pretty tastey! We got the green tea and liked it. The best part of the restaurant for me was the decor and food, the best part of the restaurant for the kids was the eggrolls and the Wii Monday night that we happened to walk into. There were 2 boys who were engaging the kids and helping them learn the Wii. Nintendo should hire these boys cause they promoted Wii so well. haha Anyway, all the kids got to play rock band, and then some Wii sports games. Apparently, Wed night is karaoke night! It was fun and the everyone will definitely be back! See ya there! :)

Worst fried rice! I got the combination. The chicken was dry, the pork was old and two pieces of shrimp that was leftover from a dish!

The smoke smell was overwhelming. The place smelled like a dive bar of the 60s. The Pho was not notable. I won't be going back.

A promise of something real, something worth the patience. And when they finally opened..a soft launch, no fanfare; you better believe I was in that parking lot shared with the Food4Less, off Battlefield and Campbell. Rainy day, cold weather in the summer. Surprisingly the perfect combination to enter this newly renovated addition to the shopping center. Their old location is gone. What stands in its place? Something else entirely. Three to four times the size. Four distinct sections. Booths, circle tables, rectangle tables, even a bar with stools. Seating at this hour is self-managed: a small act of trust that tells you everything about the warm chaos of a family-run operation still finding its rhythm. But the bones are solid. The vibe is an unexpected comfort. Soft piano drifts through the air. The lighting is warm, upgraded, inviting. Faux vines trail from corners, faux bamboo stands tall, a video screen plays peaceful landscapes of Vietnam. Paper lanterns hang alongside actual glass chandeliers. Golden fish with kanji watch over the room. It's a total upgrade from the old spot. This isn't just a restaurant moving locations. This is a statement of intention. We ordered. My fiancée went with the Pho Thai: that glorious, aromatic bowl of rice noodles in a broth that tastes like it's been whispering to itself for hours. Rich, savory, soul-warming. I ordered the Bún bò huê but asked them to swap the standard noodles for vermicelli. A small tweak. The kitchen didn't blink. The broth arrived dark, complex, spicy. The Central Vietnamese cousin to pho that doesn't get nearly enough love in this country. It had heat. It had depth. It had backbone. Our kid got a simple side of noodles. Needless to say, everyone finished their food. Every bowl scraped clean. That's the best review you can give a place. Spring rolls? Fresh. Generous. Bigger than usual, stuffed with care. The service? Quick, friendly, attentive, even while short-staffed. That's not easy. That's experience. Hong Yen is a gem. A real one. Great prices, genuine hospitality, a family atmosphere that welcomes strangers and treats them like regulars. People drive hours for this. Now I understand why. Worth the wait? Absolutely.

It's hard to find a good Pad Thai here in Springfield and sadly that continues. The Pad Thai I ordered was nothing more then stir fried noodles that tasted like dirty grease. No sauce, no peanuts, no egg. And also the owners need to get the only two lads in the dining room some help. However the guys were exceptional considering how busy they were.
