I sat down. the server barely talks to you. He gives me a menu. The Pho I orderred said it was 12.99. The usual garnish you get with pho is bean sprouts, basil, lime, celantro, and jalapeno pepper. When you choose a menu item that says "Spicy Beef" you should believe it. That wasn't the problem for me. The beef was the problem--the taste was off and I sure didn't think it tasted like beef. Pho is the best after a long road trip and we tried out Pho Kim for lunch after driving from Saint Louis. Service was quick and convenient and the parking lot has plenty of parking. We tried P1: rare beef pho noodle soup and B3: marinated beef with vermicelli in a tangy. They don't have any pork or beef rice dishes; they only pair them with vermicelli. The pho broth was delicious but lukewarm and the noodles were a bit too soggy. The rare beef was nicely tender. The stir fried beef in the vermicelli entree was overcooked and chewy. The fried egg rolls are delicious, but tiny. You need to have it with the fish sauce . And the Lemon-grass Pork grilled Banh Mi sandwich is on point. However, the Pho is okay (not greasy), but the Umai deep flavor is not developed. It seems like it is missing the Star Anise. It is still very good and you have to ask for veggies (like the bean sprouts, mint, that usually usually standard for Pho). Overall, very clean place for some simple Vietnamese food. Went there to give this place a try today with my oldest son, daugther and there kids so a pretty big group. ( 3 adults and 5 kids) the pho was so plain and the sizes were small. The 5 pieces of boba that was in the "smoothie" was gross. The combination pho I got had one cut up meatball in it and a couple pieces of brisket. I don't know I have just had so much better. First off, the portions are smaller- I intended on ordering a brisket pho and original banh mi, and taking the banh mi to go, but I ended up eating both in one meal because I was just not full. I originally ordered a BM1 but they were out. I got the BM2; it was fine but not my first choice. I got the brisket pho, it was also fine but very small. The vegetable bahn mi was a little lack luster. Dipping it in peanut sauce was a big improvement. We also ordered shrimp pho. It wasn't the best pho I've ever had, but it wasn't bad at all. Broth is good but they don't give much of add ins. There are no onions, very little cilantro and no basil ever. Fresh garden rolls lack mint and basil. These are important flavors of the dishes. Not sure why they are left out-just being cheap? MOST RECENT VISIT.... After I had given my order, the owner got on the phone and wanted me to give my husband's name as well.
