Hong Kong Kitchen is a good, fast, Chinese food spot. I've had Hong Kong Kitchen about 4 times so far, since writing this, and it hasn't disappointed me. The service is fast, as soon as you come in you are acknowledged/greeted and out the door within a second if your order is ready. I've literally ordered food while on the way there and it was ready, HOT, when I got there in about 10 minutes or so. I was skeptical of the rice because I normally don't like the yellow looking fried rice, but it's good!!! I get it all the time! I don't think the place is a "dine in" place I don't remember if there were any tables or not maybe 2-4 if there are. They're on Door Dash for convenience but you can also go in to order or pickup. Go check em out! read more

SEVERE FOOD POISONING, from eating their Mongolian beef and broccoli. The meat was bad and not cooked properly; the restaurant had a strange smell to it as well. Since I was already there, I thought I would try it, since I had put the order in, even though I had a strong instinct to leave. SEVERE FOOD POISONING, I would not recommend this place; it has an unsanitary feel to the establishment. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE, even though the staff was nice, but they knew the meat was bad and still cooked it poorly anyway. read more

It was okay. I had the combination egg foo young with white rice. It was skimpy on the meat. But nice and helpful service.

this is hands-down, the best Chinese restaurant in New Orleans recently. My husband and I have been relocated but whenever we come home, we order from here two times during our trip we love this food. It is always fresh always on point always guaranteed to be delicious. read more

Saw the reviews for this place and decided to give it a try. It's great! We ordered Kung Pao chicken, pork with garlic sauce, orange chicken and combo lo mein. I thinks it's the best orange chicken I've had in New Orleans. The pork was very flavorful and the king pao had lots of veggies. Nothing was over sauced and the veggies were not over cooked like a lot of places do. The lo mein noodles were a little over but it had great flavor. This little place is a keeper!! Try it! read more

Everything. I love the food and service I get every time I go! This is by far my favorite Chinese food.

Omg, why did you Yelpers do this to me? The ratings proved to be spot on. This place has some seriously delicious food, seasoned lightly and not too heavy on the MSG. As we sat in our truck and waited for our order, there was a constant revolving door of customers. Now I see why. When we got our food, the bag was super heavy and the servings were plenteous. That made me happy because I love to feel my money's worth lol. So we ordered house fried rice, Mongolian beef, General Tso's chicken, chicken lo mein and two orders of chicken wings. Obviously this was my cheat day. Okay more like my splurge day LOL!! In all fairness, we did not eat all of this food in one setting and in fact, two days later, we still hadn't eaten it all. I forgot to take pics but I'll add some next time. Yes, there will be a next time for sure. The only bittersweet part of my review is that I live too far to be a regular. That may be a good thing because I'm certain I'll be there almost everyday. Yes! It's that good. read more

Ugh are their "franchise food" and it was much to be desired. The Chinese places in the city are much better and have "shrimp with lobster sauce" People giving a 4.5 must be starved apartment dwellers. read more

I went back to this restaurant about a month ago to try another dish. I believe it was a Friday evening. I ordered the sweet and sour shrimp meal which I very rarely order. The food tasted so much better this visit. It was actually very good. Maybe there was a different chef. I would definitely return and hope that there will be some consistency concerning the taste of food. read more

Amazing food and great service!!! Been eating with them for over 15 years and they never disappoint!

I go here about once a week. I think the price is fair and the couple things that I normally get are delicious. I usually call it in for lunch, they get a nice lunch rush going almost every day. My go order is always the General Tso and I like to add a wonton soup, I also get the large wonton egg drop and Rangoons when I feel like spending a couple more bucks. Never been disappointed. read more

It was okay, definitely nothing to brag about. The food was pretty bland in my opinion.

I was vacationing in New Orleans and stopped at this place around 9PM. The young guy working the window was awesome. He was very nice and explained the menu. The food was fantastic and they give you big portions. I recommend their sesame chicken. Inside is small and has 4 tables. We were able to dine in and the restaurant was clean. We did have a difficult time trying to get into the parking lot at night. Google maps had us going in circles read more

In just one word: OVER-RATED ! Nothing we tried was very good. Place looks pretty shabby. Park in center-lot. Waitress was nice. Rick . read more

My go-to spot for chinese if my family wants it for dinner! Ordered from here a handful of times and they are always well prepared and flavorful. Dining area is small with 3 tables, but I rarely see anybody sit and eat, but i'm sure people sit and eat for lunch time. Service is always friendly and fast which somebody is always at the front. For parties, I usually get the party tray of lo mein which I find to be the most flavorful out of other chinese restaurants i've been to. Definitely recommend this spot if you are near by and want chinese food! read more

After 3 months..we came back to dine out and I dont think it's because we missed them. But WAO...the sauces were thicker, the beer extra tender and the hot drop soup ..extra delicious. They are stepping up the game even more. Only take out through a glass window and even wearing a plastic face protector when opened. Good job! read more

My FAVORITE PLACE for Chinese. Can't wait to order on MOTHER'S DAY!!! It's going to be a rather large to go order. Out of any place I could have chosen, I chose HONG KONG! read more

The food is always so good; over the years I have become a regular here and it has never failed to provide me with good food.

To go service was fast and friendly! I got the General chicken lunch special with shrimp fried rice. Large portion for lunch and perfect amount of spice on the chicken! There were also lots of large shrimp in the rice. And the crab rangoons were stuffed full and crispy and delicious. The sweet and sour dipping sauce was a perfect pairing. It was my first time here and I'll definitely be ordering again! read more

I have been very happy with every meal I've had from Hong Kong Kitchen. The wonton and egg drop soup are the best I've ever had. I try something new every time I order and I'm never disappointed! I can't wait to try something new. Last night I had the beef chop suey for the first time. DELICIOUS!! Thanks, Hong Kong Kitchen, for another great experience. I'll order again soon!! read more

Best sesame chicken, for sure. Combo plates are generous potions and come with pork fried rice and an egg roll. Pan-fried Dumplings are made in house and have sweet, tangy sauce, not plain soy sauce. Crab Rangoon which seems standard triangle shaped , as good as anywhere. read more

Our go to place for chinese. The lady that runs it is great. She recognizes my phone number when I call and she is very accommodating when I ask for certain items. Definitely go there if you like chinese food. You won't be sorry. read more

We really enjoyed our dinner tonight!!!! We haven't been able to find a GOOD Chinese restaurant (on the East or West Bank of the river) in a long time, but that may have just changed..... This was my first time ordering take out food from here and my family was NOT disappointed because EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. There was not a single complaint! The food was very flavorful with tons of large FRESH vegetables and big portion sizes of chicken and shrimp. There was more than enough food remaining for us to have (and enjoy) lunch tomorrow We ordered the No. 2 Special (for 4 people). Our order consisted of a quart of Hot and Sour Soup, a quart of Shrimp Fried Rice, 3 entrees: Kung Pao Chicken, General Tso's Chicken and Shrimp with Cashew Nuts. To that we added an order of Shrimp Mai Fun Noodles and Fried Sweet Donuts for dessert. Overall, it was a very nice dinner! I was also really impressed with the kindness of the lady who took my order. She was very sweet and helpful, both on the phone and in person. There were 3 men preparing the food in the back and they appeared to be working really hard! They truly made me WANT to give them a great review especially after we found out how delicious everything was! Don't let the small location (in a strip mall) fool you! It is a diamond in the rough and they were busy-which is just another indication of how good they are!!! read more

Best Chinese food in New Orleans, great ingredients, always hot and plentiful! Order extra spicy as a rule.

Egg roll and rice were good. The mandarin sauce was very tasty! The chicken was terrible, nothing but batter. Actually looked like sliced chicken you would put on a sandwich. Very disappointing! Zoom in on photo you can see what I mean. read more

Hong Kong Kitchen - Mandarin Chicken combo with pork fried rice and pork egg roll. - Chinese Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

Hole in the wall place with very good standard Chinese fair. Its my kiddos favorite lomein & orange chicken. And probably the best lomein Ive had. The fried rice on the other hand none of us liked and lacks flavor. But we've tried a few other dishes and all were super delicious. The garlic chicken has a super savory sauce with a slight sweetness & a hint of spice which was my favorite dish so far. Food is always hot & fresh. read more

Nice casual place with great food and good prices. Had the sesame chicken and moo goo. Wish this place was in Austin. Can't wait to come back. read more

Just a little hole in the wall, but the Singapore mei fun was the best I've had in the metropolitan area. There was enough food for two hearty meals. I ate in at one of the few tables. Very low scale, but the place was clean. While i was there, they were really busy with take out orders. I'm going back to try some of my other favorites. read more

A week of fried chicken, Jambalaya, Creole, oysters would make me miss my basic food. I came here eight before I return my car. Very convenient location that's 4 miles from the rental car center. The same parking lot has McD, teppanyaki/Vietnamese restaurant, a burger/diner, and across from this also has Butler King. I got the lunch special sesame chicken that comes with fried rice and egg roll. Really good deal for $5.99. Good portion and good taste. The fried rice is superb. Chicken could be fried a little more before the saucing, but it can be just a preference of the chef. Egg roll is fried to perfection. read more

This is hands down my favorite Chinese takeout restaurant. The food is always fresh and HOT! They always honor my special requests, which I really appreciate. They've been my go-to Chinese place for many years, and I have never had a bad experience. read more

This is my go to spot for Chinese. I always place my order and then head out the door and my order is ready by the time I get there. Their crab rangoons are some of my favorite in the area and I always have some leftover. I order from here about once a month. They've made a great transition to to-go only that helps keep everyone safe. read more

Go to, to-go Chinese. Always fast, hot and tasty. Very consistent! Love their dumplings.

Well, I really was hoping this place would be good. They weren't. However, the service was great. There was something really wrong with the chicken. It was really weird. REALLY. Like perhaps it was make from some chicken powder and water. read more

In these trying times of social distancing, there exists a beacon of cuisine that has stood the test of time. Hong Kong Kitchen was the first restaurant I ate from when moved here for residency at the young age of 26. Now many eons later I'm almost 30 and this restaurant still stands providing the masses with virus-free food. Their restaurant is currently takeout only and the glass window at the counter opens only enough to pass words, money, and food. It's a little hard to find since it's tucked away behind a Shell gas station but it's worth the journey. I got the orange chicken combo and the large beef lo mein for $17.47. They have a whole bunch of utensils and sauces available but I didn't need any of that. I got these two massive containers of food stuffed to the brim, a pork egg roll, and two fortune cookies. The orange chicken comes with pork fried rice and you can taste the real orange that they use in the cooking. I strongly disagree with the menu which says the orange chicken is spicy but that's ok I don't really expect it to be spicy. The fried rice isn't going to win any awards but there's a good mix of quality ingredients. The beef lo mein is a treasure, I love the thick saucy noodles. The egg roll was similar to the fried rice, nothing special, but a nice addition. They didn't even package the egg roll in the orange chicken combo container, they put it in a separate wrapper so that they could make sure your container is full of orange chicken. All in all, I ate about a third of each container, enjoyed it, and was stuffed. This will last me a couple days and greatly contribute to me not getting coronavirus. I'm really surprised this Yelp page only has about 80 something reviews. It's truly a hidden gem for solid, plentiful, cheap Chinese food. read more

Halfway through my meal I felt compelled to write a review. The food was definitely 5 star takeout. I ordered general Tso chicken, it came with fried rice and an egg roll for $8.25; I upgraded to shrimp fried rice for an additional $1.10. The food was very fresh and had a good flavor. The general tso chicken wasn't spicy at all, so if you like spicy you may want to add some spice to it. The order was enough for 2 servings. I can't comment on the inside of the building; due to Covid you cannot enter the restaurant instead you walk up to the window and pick up your order. I will be returning in the future when I want some Chinese food and I would recommend this place to others. read more
