I sent her inspo photos of our pastel Disney theme... and she did not disappoint! The cake was absolutely beautiful, almost identical to the inspo photo, and "not too sweet" [which in Asian culture, is high praise]. Its a cute little spot in downtown brea - its a super small spot but they have their famous banana puddings, some cookies & cupcakes. they also sold a lot of cute decor items/party items as well. I got the original banana pudding and although I was too full to eat it then, I finally tried it today (a whole day later of it sitting in my fridge) and my goodness, definitely one of the BEST banana puddings ever.

Macarons are notoriously difficult to make, so we tend to judge them harshly after having had some excellent ones from Paris, including Ladurée. These held their own in a very real way, which is not easy to do. Each macaron had a crisp exterior with a soft interior and light, balanced filling. The flavors were thoughtful, unique, and included seasonal options that made the spread feel special and elevated. While they are a premium dessert, especially the seasonal or larger varieties, they are absolutely worth it for a show stopping table. Out of the two dozen we ordered, I had five and then sent my husband back for three more. No regrets. Service was quick and our few questions were answered. We mostly had an idea of the flavors and quantity that we wanted.

They even added thoughtful decorative touches like mint and little green leaves, which made everything look extra polished and on-theme. On the day of the event, they delivered everything to the park for free, which made things so much easier for us. The desserts were a huge hit--everyone loved them! I reached out multiple times through Instagram DMs and didn't receive a response until my third attempt. Even after that, responses were very slow. I should have taken that as a sign, but I decided to move forward anyway. Smh. When I went into the shop to place my deposit, the in-store staff was actually very sweet and welcoming. The cashier wrote down my cake request and we went over the details, which made me feel more confident despite the earlier communication issues. However, two weeks went by without any follow-up. It wasn't until two days before my scheduled pickup that I received a call asking what cake flavor I wanted. That moment really concerned me, since I assumed this would have been asked when my order details were originally taken. It made me feel like something may have been missed or overlooked. I missed that call while at work but replied to their follow-up text asking what flavor options were available and didn't hear back for another 24 hours. The next day, around 4pm (the day before my bday party) they called again, and I ended up choosing their "most popular" birthday cake flavor, Birthday Cake. My pickup was scheduled for 12pm. At 11:57am that day, I received a text saying the cake wasn't ready and would be closer to 1pm... I was already at the parking lot. When I finally received the cake, I was disappointed. The colors were very off from the reference photo I shared. We had agreed to adjust the red to a white tone, but I didn't expect it to look so different overall. They didn't add the bows like the reference photo and the cherries they put in looked ugly, so did the "1995" numbers. My cake was so off from what we had agreed on. On top of that, the taste and quality didn't meet expectations. The cake reminded me of a boxed cake mix, similar to Pillsbury Funfetti , rather than something that felt bakery-made. I truly hope this was just my experience. I understand this may be a busy time of year, and that could have played a role. I wanted to share my honest feedback for future customers and for the bakery to hopefully improve communication and consistency.
