My current quest is to find the best macarons, so when I saw that macarons are listed as featured category, I knew I had to check them out! The inside is arranged like a cross between a candy store and the prize counter at Chuck E Cheese ~ kid heaven! They had a couple of displays with jumbo dipped marshmallows and decorated cookies. They also serve Thrify ice cream. All of this was fun, BUT as I walked in, I was hit with an unexpected awful smell. It wasn't burnt food or sugar, but more of a sewage smell. I don't know if it was a problem with the plumbing, but it was definitely off-putting. Nevertheless, I powered on. I asked about what available flavors they had for macarons. And this is where my quest to find the best macarons ended here. They had NONE available :/ Not wanting to leave 100% empty handed, I picked up a couple of their dipped Oreos. Sadly, there was nothing about them that stood out. I haven't decided if I want to come back in hopes of trying their macarons. If I do, I sure hope the shop smells better.

When I placed my order, I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted stenciled on the cookies but they were super helpful and accommodating to my requests. We picked the up the day before the event and they tasted just as fresh after being in the fridge overnight. Pickup was super easy and they were very kind! They even gave us a small sample box so we could try the macarons and confirm that they were delicious before serving them to guests. The full order was given to us in a box, but we ordered a tower tray on Amazon to display them for the party. We ordered four flavors: chocolate, vanilla, Oreo, and salted caramel. The flavor comes from the filling, which was great because then we were able to select colors for the cookies that matched the party's color palette. We would highly recommend Krumbs Baking for parties, they were super helpful and communicative! Our macaron order really added to our party's theme and the guests loved them!

That's where Fairy Cakes Bakery came to the rescue. Fairy Cakes Bakery specializes in gourmet cupcake deliveries. Brilliant! I e-mailed Kerena at FTB on a Sunday and she responded immediately. I needed the cupcakes on Tuesday, which was no problem. Kerena was very helpful via e-mail and they delivered the cupcakes when promised with very cute packaging and a hand-written note. I ordered red velvet, black and white, and raspberry vanilla, which were all a huge hit with my husband and his co-workers. My husband brought one of each home and I thought they were pretty good. The cake part was a tad dry, which I find to be such a common problem with most cupcakes, but the icing was delicious. And at $2.50 a cupcake, I thought they were a deal. Two downsides: There is a $15 delivery charge BUT they do hand deliver them anywhere in Orange County and the Inland Empire. It's the cost of convenience, I say. Also, when you order a dozen cupcakes, they must be of the same flavor. That wasn't a big deal for me, but it might be for others who might want more variety. I think Fairy Cakes Bakery is a great way to go if you want to surprise someone with a treat and/or not deal with going to Sprinkles or Susie Cakes (and spending at least 50-75 cents more per cupcake). The guy that was serving me is very nice. The place was very clean. It back the cleanest Bakery I've ever seen. But the most important thing the Bakery was that I got were great. Good selection. Now for the extra part I bought a cannoli and I have to be honest. I've had cannolis all over the world. And this is the best cannoli I've ever had. It was a little expensive at six dollars for a large one. But it was worth every penny every time I go past this place from now on - I will be stopping to get a cannoli. The Bakery goods were so good that I got on the to good to go app. This is my new favorite bakery. The other bakery I've been going to for 30 years is in the San Fernando Valley. But this one puts shame to that one. The selection is a little limited. They don't have all the tons of different bakery items, but what they have is excellent.
