Bread is good but yall have some RUDE people working at your night market in Arcadia. I am not one that finds any little reason to complain, but the way this worker was left me stunned and I actually walked away. First, when my toddler grabbed a bread she said in a very condescending tone to not let her do that. I totally understand that she shouldn't do that, and we took it away immediately, but I didn't mean to let it happen, and I don't need an adult to disrespectfully talk to me like that. Next, I told her that I wanted two specific types of bread that I typically get and then a third butterscotch bread I haven't tried. She only put one bread in the bag, which I thought she meant to do, and when I paid I asked for the other two breads and she said "you just stood there and didn't tell me anything." when I asked if I could grab them. At that point she offered a refund and I said no and left cause I didn't want to deal with her anymore. She looked at me like I'd just lost my mind. Came by this booth at the Wednesday Mt. SAC Farmer's Market. The owner Chris was at the booth and told me about the history of his company. I picked up three flavors: Chocolate Decadence, Lemon Citrus, and the one that started it all - Italian Butter Rum. The flavors were all good, although the chocolate decadence cake was pretty dry and tasted stale. The Italian Butter Rum was my favorite of the three, I can see why this one is a best seller. Stumbled upon this delectable local gem while prowling Monrovia's Friday night farmers market for dessert - what a sweet treat! We got a BabyCakes sampler and a mini Bundt - all the flavors were wonderful - I even liked their red velvet cake and I never like red velvet lol! For the mini Bundt, we tried their strawberry cake with raspberry icing and it was lovely! Our BabyCakes sampler had six flavors as follows: 2 Cinnamon Churro, 2 Chocolate, 1 Italian Rum Butter, 1 Lemon Citrus, 1 Red Velvet, & 1 Unicornfetti. All the flavors are fantastic- definitely taste according to their names. And the textures are perfectly moist and spongy - even after being refrigerated for 3 days - impressive! The lemon, strawberry, and churro were our faves. Dolce Monachelli is known for their farmers market stands which is where I found them - but they also have a store front in Fullerton. They ship their cakes all over the country as well if you order via their website (except for the BabyCakes sampler bc it doesn't ship well). Prices are reasonable given the quality. Staff at the market stall were very welcoming and they offer samples of their popular Italian rum butter. I'll definitely be seeking them out at our local weekly farmers market again! read more

My bond with these yummy mini bundt cakes transcends over a decade now - I remember when they would set up shop at the quarterly Vendor Fairs that UCI hosts. I stopped by early this evening to pick up more yummy treats. Dolce Monachelli's is a family-owned business with a retail store in Fullerton. I'm all about supporting local businesses, but the fact that I've bought bundt cakes from them way back when I was a UCI student, definitely has meaning. While their prices have gone up since my last visit (who hasn't/can't blame them) - the mini bundt cakes are just as delicious as I remember. I used to be able to pick up 3 for $10, now they are 3 for $14 or 4 for $17. Still a great deal - and you'll agree too upon first bite. Service is friendly and cheerful as usual - they offer you a sample right as you walk up. I already knew what flavors I wanted and wanted to try - picked up 2x Carrot Cake, 1x Chocolate Whiskey and 1x Chocolate Cappuccino. Chris sufficiently answered my question about what their frosting was like compared to "Nothing Bundt Cakes" - where I typically buy my bundt cakes from (more widely available). He said it was cream cheese based, and a little less sweet - which I totally agree with. These are the best Bundt cakes I've ever had. They have a variety of flavors but my favorite is the chocolate cappuccino. And the cakes are so moist it basically melts into your mouth. I feel like I totally got sold at the Farmer's Market. They offered a sample of the Italian rum with nuts and it was so delicious. We were told it was an authentic recipe of the owners mother passed down. We got a variety of flavors to try. We were so disappointed when we got home to see that the cakes are made with soy oil and a bunch of artificial ingredients. Also all of the other flavors completely fell flat compared to the Italian rum with nuts. I gave the funfetti to my kids and they took one bite and left the rest. So you can imagine my excitement when I found them at the Monrovia Farmers Market Friday night. I immediately went there to grab an Italian Rum Butter cake for a birthday cake this weekend. The Italian Rum Butter cake is an amazing cake that is consistently great every time you buy it. This bakery has really perfected the recipe for any of the cakes you try. While my favorite so far is still their taqueria margarita cake from our first market visit, we subsequently bought carrot cake, lemon poppyseed and pineapple upside down cake. This last purchase was very tasty but the toughness of the pineapple caused me to check out previous reviews. Most are quite favorable but it seems aficionados are able to tell which cakes have just been freshly baked. This last purchase may not have been. It's great most of their bundts flavors are non dairy if you don't add the frosting. When I called they were super helpful in answering all my questions. They were at the Avocado Festival in Fallbrook... I just had been craving a simple goodie, something sweet but not tooo sugary and these little cakes were the ticket. Never been here but they sell at the Torrance Farmers Market! 8 years ago they attracted me with a taste of their world famous Italian Rum cake and I was hooked back then it was the owners. We go at least once a month except lately been traveling a-lot but whenever we have out of town guest we make sure to get them samples and end up walking away with at least 4-6 cakes of the different variations. It was the end of the fair, and most all of their Bundt cakes were packed up in clear totes. When we walked by, I commented to my daughter how good they all looked. I so happened to come across this yummy bakery while at the Buena Park Farmer's Market this past Saturday. I tried walking past all of those enticing bundt cakes but I couldn't do it lol. I decided to sample the Italian Butter Rum to see if I would like it and while I did love it I really had my eye on the Red Velvet Bundt. I already had some sweets at my hotel so I decided not to get both but I really should have lol. The Italian Rum was very moist and had a nice rum flavor but it wasn't overpowering like most rum cakes are and I loved the pecans on top as well. I really liked the Red Velvet, it looked like a real Red Velvet cake should because it wasn't super red with food coloring. It was extremely moist and the cream cheese frosting in the middle was very good (although I wish there was more frosting lol). I can definitely see that being my go to if I lived in the area. I love bundt cakes so these are perfect,the perfect size and the fact that they are very moist and taste fresh is a plus. Really enjoyed meeting Chris today at the Westwood farmer's market! He drew a lot of customers in with free samples of the rum cake, including me!! I was also intrigued by their "best cakes" sign and had to see for myself. The rum cake samples, even after being frozen and thawed and out at the farmers market for a couple hours, were delicious and extremely moist. I got four cakes: the rum, the very berry blast, the chocolate cappuccino, and the chocolate whiskey. Chris recommended freezing the cakes, especially the very berry, as they can last for a couple months and people have said they taste better after thawing. I couldn't wait and tried the chocolate whiskey while it was fresh. It was the perfect soft texture with cream in the middle. THESE CAKES ARE NOT DRY. The perfect little bite. The mini bundts are about the size of my palm, but they sell larger cakes as well. Going to save the others for later, but can't wait to try!!
