First and foremost, Ioana is an absolute doll and dream to work with. She's so sweet and considerate. I was in the market for a delicious cake to celebrate my 40th. Ordering: I reached out to get details because I was stuck between two types of cakes: single tier luxury cake or a two digit number cookie cake. She knew I was looking for around and there was a possibility that I could go elsewhere, but she was patient and thorough about the serving sizes, textures and design limitations or each one. She also asked about budget and came up with a few additional options. I was never pressured. Any time I reach out to communicate and coordinate about the cake, she was quick and responsive. Payment: My best friend/sister to me) wanted to gift me as part of my birthday gift, since I'm hard to shop for because I don't like people buying things for me. The two of them coordinated payment. Delivery: Ioana checked in with me for details on date, time and location for delivery. She also asked about theme and color because she wanted to make my birthday extra special. As you guys can see from the picture, the cake is gorgeous! Ioana personally dropped off my cake was super gracious, even thanking me for allowing her to be a part of my celebration. Then she brought out my second cake that was a gift from my little and wished me a happy birthday and reminded me that I was loved! Taste: Everyone loved the moist Chai tea cake and the cream cheese frosting was light and delicious. It was amazingly better the next day! Note: 8 inch cake was TALLLL! It's about 4 layers of cake and 4 of frosting. Note: be cautious and make sure you're steady when receiving because it was heavy! Tip: After refrigerating, leave the cake out for at room temp least 30 mins because the cream will be stiff. The cream frosting will soften nicely.

Loana was so awesome! As soon as I placed an order she reached out right away to help me customize, and figure out the exact details about my wife to ensure she had a cake that would be to her liking for her birthday! The buttercream was super light and creamy, and cake itself was soft and velvety. It was a huge hit with my wife and parents (who all couldn't put down their forks)! I recently ordered a mini number cookie cake from Ioana. Not only was she gracious enough to accommodate a short turn around (2 days!), but she did such a beautiful job of creating the cake according to my requests. She is responsive, delivers superb customer service, & also provides instructions on how to store & serve the cake. Where do I begin - First and foremost, Ioana is an absolutely beautiful soul. She is such a warmhearted individual, and my husband and I were so blessed that she was able to take us on as a client 2 months before our wedding. Just looking at the website, we (as well as my mother who is a dessert connoisseur) were beyond excited to have a taste of these beautifully made desserts and wedding cake. We did the 6 flavor cupcake tasting, and O.M.G. - we fell in love with all the flavors, but the dark chocolate with ganache had us all wanting more! We decided in that moment that she was going to be our permanent baker for all our future events. During the process of finalizing our cake and desserts order, Ioana was attentive, timely in her responses, and so detailed. We ordered her mini cupcakes, mini luxe brownie blooms, 2 cookie cakes, macarons, custom wedding sugar cookies, and our 3 tiered cake, and WOW did she deliver! Our cake flavors was pistachio with orange blooms, salted caramel, and dark choco with ganache. Our guests raved about the desserts from our wedding and all lined up for them when the desserts table was finally open! We cannot wait for the opportunity to be able to order more desserts, we're counting the days until the next bday in our family or for our sons first bday, but I am sure we will find another reason to be able to eat her delicious creations soon enough! I highly highly recommend Cocoaberry for ANY and EVERY event, from birthdays to weddings - her desserts are worth the wait, detailed, and absolutely tasty! You will not be disappointed!

I found CocoaBerry Cake Co on yelp. I saw the different cake designs and I was mesmerized. I knew right then that I wanted them to do our wedding cake. I made an appointment for tasting and met with Ioana. She's very warm, friendly, very responsive. Always ready to answer your questions. She gave us cupcakes with different buttercream flavors. They were delicious!! .We decided on taro and lavender buttercream with vanilla. The cake was delivered at our reception venue in San Juan Capistrano. The cake was beautiful and perfect. Ioana made sure that the colors matched our theme. I was even afraid to touch it because it was too picture perfect . Not only that, the guests loved it!!! They said that they didn't think lavender was a great flavor but they were wrong. I was only able to save a small piece for us in the end. It was all served and eaten. Thank you CocoaBerry and Ioana for the beautiful and delicious wedding cake! We loved it and so did all our guests. Ioana was such a pleasure to work with! She was able to accommodate my order the week of and was very kind and flexible. She'll work together with you to find the right aesthetic for your cake as well. I ordered a number cake and the flowers turned out so beautiful ! The color scheme was gorgeous and she was very receptive to my feedback and created something that I was looking for. Everyone said that the frosting was delicious and "not too sweet"- the BEST compliment from any Asian family in terms of sweets.

Ioana is the sweetest!! My husband and I came across her services thanks to our wedding planner and we are honestly so happy we got to work with her! Communicating via email with her was very easy and she so graciously moved around her schedule so that she could fit in a tasting for us during our 2 day visit to SoCal (since we were visiting from out of town). My whole family came with us to the tasting and thoroughly enjoyed the three flavors we requested to try. Everything was so moist and flavorful, we were all impressed! We ended up opting for a 3 tier cake with two sheet cakes (flavors: lemon lavender fields and taro dreams). She designed a 3 tier wedding cake just as we had imagined it. Everybody was raving about the cakes - nobody could get enough! My dad's cake was sadly taken away when he wasn't looking and he was so sad he didn't get to try it :( but we'll be coming back for an anniversary cake next year so hopefully he'll get some then! If you're in the market for a wedding cake, we'd highly recommend working with Ioana at Cocoa Berry Cake Co. :-)

Ioana was so great to work with! She communicated quickly via text and was accommodating of my requests to design a specific look/theme for my cake. She sent me example pics when I asked for them, and we ended up collaborating together to make a beautiful numbers cake. I live out of state so she sent me pictures of the cake upon completion, and then delivered it (extra fee) to the recipient, keeping me informed throughout her drop off. All in all, I loved the personalized experience of working directly with the baker/owner, and am very pleased with the final product. I wouldn't hesitate to use CocoaBerry and work with Ioana again in the future!

I had to order a cake for my boss's niece who lives in Placentia, and we are in LA. We were hoping for delivery the next day (short notice! ) but Iona was thoroughly professional and kind. She had to really walk me through the order on their website to get all the beautiful little details right and was totally patient and polite. Her communication, all via text, was outstanding every step of the way. Our gorgeous cake was delivered the next day as hoped for and we were even sent confirming photos. Our gift note was handwritten in lovely handwriting! All so appreciated by us, and the recipient! Iona, you are an *absolute rockstar* and I wish you were located up here! Had the most wonderful experience with CocoaBerry! it was my daughter's 21st birthday this past weekend, and wanted to surprise her with a beautiful cake to be delivered as we couldn't come celebrate with her in person. Although I didn't have enough lead time when I inquired, my request was accommodated. All communication was through text and all responses was swift and very pleasant. Alas, the cake was delivered and my daughter loved loved loved it, and so did her friends and roommates! my daughter didn't want to eat them at first as it was too beautiful. When I told her to go for it especially because I had picked a flavor that was her favorite, she took one bite and was screaming with delight! She and her friends enjoyed every last bite and described them as the best they have ever had, hands down! Ioana, thank you! My wife and I inquired for a wedding cake and catered desserts only a few months before the wedding and were blessed to work with Cocoa Berry Cake Company! We were able to get a cake tasting in before the wedding and immediately fell in love with everything! We wanted to order every dessert on the menu, but decided to not go overboard. Ioana did an amazing job with the decoration and design of the cake as my wife and I were stunned when we saw it! At the wedding, everyone enjoyed the desserts and cake so much that everything was gone by the end of the night! We even had "to-go" boxes for dessert, but didn't need to use them! You get what you pay for. And here you are going to pay quite a bit but you are going to get one of the most exquisite cakes you have ever seen. Like, I had a special request, at late notice and I was blown away by the beautiful cake we got. Like, it was a work of art. Like, I didn't want to eat it it was so pretty. But we definitely ate it... every single bite. These cakes are artistic works. I was sincerely stunned when I opened the box. My request had been simple... a six inch cake. With 48 hours notice. For two people celebrating an anniversary. And I let the artist do her work. Wow. Just wow. This isn't a spot you would call for a 5 year-old having a race car birthday party with 15 kids. Absolutely beautiful cake! It has to be one of the best looking cakes that we've ever had, and it also tasted great. I was in a bind because I really needed to get my wife a "number cake" and I didn't have much time to do it. Even though Ioana was booked for the weekend, she pulled through and made it anyways, and my wife couldn't have been happier. I ordered a cookie cake for a 31st birthday for the following week and they were able to get it done! It came out stunning with fresh flowers (non-edible, FYI). My parents' 50th anniversary cake was absolutely beautiful and it taste amazing too!!! We went with 6" chocolate expresso cake which was more than enough to serve 12 people. Ioana was responsive to all my texts and very patient when I was undecided on the cake flavor. She also delivered my cake on a Sunday evening even though she is closed on Sundays. I see a lot of reviews are on presentation of Ioana's beautifully creative cakes but please know the flavors are SO delicious! I ordered a 6in Taro Dreams Cake and an 8in of Lemon Lavendar Fields, both were amazing. Definitely had alot of guest talking about both! But the real win here is that Ioana is such a pleasure to work with. Incredibly kind, professional and most of all flexible. She had to make my cakes the morning returning from her out of country vacation the night before. I don't know how she did it but the cakes came out better than I expected. Ioana, the owner was absolutely wonderful. Due to an innocent mixup, our order was short on the macarons, but I didn't catch this until almost two hours after our order was dropped (the day before our event). She came out early the next morning and even brought us some extra items. What wonderful customer service and it shows her commitment to make sure the customer is happy. I was definitely happy! Now, for the event. People just raved about our mini cupcakes and the macarons. The taste was great and the presentation of these items was SO beautiful! We are so pleased. I'm a fine art wedding photographer and when I was looking for a cake designer for my own wedding, I was very particular about the look and feel of of the wedding cake I wanted. It wasn't until I came across Ioana's work that I absolutely knew I found the one and that I wanted to work with her. Her artistry is just beyond, she is incredibly talented. Not only did she helped me every step of the way, but she was also incredibly professional, gracious and kind. She communicated with my floral designer to help arrange the florals for the cake. Quite frankly, after sending my inspiration ideas originally and speaking with her and seeing her work, I just gave her creative freedom which is what you want - trust - and it was a privilege to have her create for us and I trusted her artistic vision completely. This is my first review ever, and I believe that Ioana's creative work inspired me to say something about her work, I am living in Pennsylvania and my girlfriend is living in California, my girlfriend's 40th birthday, I planned to give her surprise and make her 40th birthday really special. I saw loana's work online, ordering cake from her is the best decision I had. This was my first ever custom cake so I was initially kinda scared. However, the ordering process was actually really simple and easy. The owner was extremely helpful and nice. She was able to fulfill all the request that I had and made different adjustments to improve the look of the cake. The cake itself was way beyond my expectation. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. It was basically a work of art. They were able to brought out my imagination to life. The cake was absolutely beautiful! It showed up in every photo we took -- it was definitely the highlight of my mom's birthday. Even the table next to us at the restaurant asked where we got it from! I can not say enough good things. Loana was so wonderful to deal with, even from thousands of miles away. She helped me surprise my daughters for their birthday. Even sending a picture before she delivered it so I could see. My daughters said they're worried their wedding cakes won't be able to live up to this cake. I was worried it wouldn't live up to the pictures but it more than did! The girls and their friends said it was delicious, too. read more
