I'm not a huge donut guy so I'll just get that out of the way. I decided to stop here and pick up a dozen on the way home. The cost was less than $20 with tax. It's hard to remember everything I picked but the ones with filings in the middle were excellent. I also liked oreo, devil's food, and French chocolate. The ones with lemon were okay. A hidden gem in Countryside, these are the BEST donuts in the area! Under new ownership, but the bakers are still the same folks. The shop got a little face lift and it's clean and bright. Met the new owner, Deanna, and she was the sweetest. These donuts and other pastries they offer are made fresh daily. The best time to get warm donuts is after 7pm- that's when they are freshly made and still warm. You can resist just eating one when you leave the store. I love their chocolate long Johns, marble chocolate, Bavarian cream, and the custard. My sister loves the glazed, custard, and twist donuts. The chocolate is rich and filled donuts are just right in sweetness. We prefer yeast donuts as opposed to cake donuts, but their cake donuts are just as good too! Baked in house, you can taste the love the bakers put in each bite! Also, I noticed after a few days Honey Fluff donuts are still soft and fresh even after sitting in the original container. Stop by today as I was in the neighborhood and this place has recommended by my sister. It was just afternoon so they did have a special for Bakers dozen, but I only wanted to try a couple of donuts so they have a four donuts for five dollars special anytime so I picked up four I got a chocolate John, a chocolate cake, strawberry, sprinkle, frosted, and another chocolate long John. First off the chocolate cake donut it was just how I like it. Perfect cake doughnut with a little bit of crunch. It tasted great that was afternoon. It was still very good. John was also excellent. I would compare it to a fucking donut excellent size and tasted great. I would really like to enjoy these and about six in the morning when they're fresh, but these were just fine and it was very good. The staff were friendly. It is definitely a no-frills place but they seem to have a lot of specials and the staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and they gave us some free donuts as well as I mentioned. It was my first time there so A+ for them it's a bit of a drive for me, but if I'm ever in the area, I will definitely stop and get donuts there cause they are that good . read more

They are under new ownership, so I was worried donuts would be different, but the bakers stayed. Shop is brighter and clean. Met the new owner, Deanna. She was very nice. Donuts are made fresh daily. They offer bakers dozen from 12-5 and also a special 4 donuts for $5. What a steal. The best time to get donuts is a little after 7:30pm. They are fresh and warm. Once you walk out you just have to enjoy one right away. They have a great selection, but my overall favorites are glazed and bavarian cream. The chocolate long john is another one. I shouldn't even be fat. I don't binge eat, I'm not a fan of Lasagna, Pork Belly, Pancakes, Milkshakes and all the other crap "bigguns" are stereotyped to consume in mass quantities. It also goes for most donuts. With the exception of the "buttermilk" or "sour cream" iterations, you see. Craggy and misshapen, with a basic glaze, Sour Cream donuts, to me, are a thing of beauty and a joy forever. You can have all the rest. They are the misfit toys of baked goods. The slightly sour, less sweet flavor of these dense gems are perfect with a cup o' joe, dontcha' know. And SourCream donuts are UGGGGGGLLLLY! Absolutely NO "curb appeal" at all. It doesn't matter. Once a staple offering at Dunkin's, the idiots who run that mistake removed the SourCream variety from their selection, and cemented me from ever soiling their doors, if I can. The bakeries I frequent don't make them. Honey Fluff, bless their hearts, DO make them. They are delicious and satisfying. A perfect edition of a classic. As indicated, Donuts are not an obsession with me, so I did not patronize Honey Fluff for many many many years. Recently, Wife Chris wanted to bring a little sweet stuff to some folks we were visiting in the area, so we stopped there-prolly because every time we drove past it, I would comment on H.F.'s landmark status. Imagine my surprise when I saw my faves up on the wall. Well-suffice to say, Honey Fluff has been a destination ever since, if we are in the area. By "in the area", I mean "if I am in Illinois". My discipline of "one per day" abides. I don't know how, but it does. I've tried a few of the other things H.F. offers, and they are all a cut above the corporate crap of Dunkin's. I've not tried the coffee there, yet. I will. After a smidge of reconnoiter, I've learned the boutique donut chain "Stan's Donuts" which has recently come to the Windy City offers a "Vanilla Old Fashioned" donut looking remarkably like the SourCream beast I so fancy. Until now, I have had no interest in visiting Stan's, but you can bet I'll be there soon... But give yourself a treat and visit Honey Fluff, a long-time legend for some fine bakey sweet goodies! Great fresh donuts at 7pm? Heck yes! I came here on a whim the other night as I was passing by, intent on purchasing 2 glazed rings. No glazed rings were available but I noticed other tasty delights so I decided to grab a dozen instead. Ordered 2 of each: glazed twists, blueberry cake, chocolate long Johns, chocolate yeast, sour cream & buttermilk. Total came out to $17 after tax which was reasonable. As I carried the box to my car, I felt the contents a bit warm & decided to dive right in. I had the glazed twist which was still warm & soft and was pleasantly surprised that it was fresh so late in the day cuz their hours say they close at 8pm. About half of my order was still warm & fresh, left me feeling happy like I just won the lottery. All of my choices were great especially the buttermilk ones. The coffee was pretty good and the doughnuts were no joke FANTASTIC! Hands down the best french crullers I've ever had...my partner agreed on this. The chocolate glazed ones were great...they really have the texture/sweetness down perfect! We also had apple fritters, sour cream, cherry and an old fashioned.
