Where should you go right after you get done with seeing the dentist? Donuts of course. What better way to instantly re plaque, and insta-rot your teeth? Anyways....I got 3 donuts. A crumb cake donut, a crumb raised donut, and a chocolate covered rainbow srpinkle cake donut. I know that is alot of donuts for one man in one sitting. I was hungry. Leave me alone ;-) All 3 were just ok. The crumb topping at this place needs some work. Know how you get a crumb donut sometimes and the crumbs are substantial, they actually fall off the donut and you can pick up little pieces and eat just them? Well this isnt the place for that. The crumb topping here is more of a sprinkled on cinnamon sugar type crumb. Tasty enough but not in the upper eschelon of donuts. 75 cents for each donut which I guess is the going rate these days. read more

Found this place in the middle of the night after moving back to California. Was greeted promptly as we entered. Store was clean and the shelves were full of donuts at about 2am. Cashier was friendly and patient as we selected our donuts. Everything was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be coming back. Nice little 24 hour donut place if you're looking for a sweet treat. They also serve ice cream. Oh and the apple fritters were amazing. Thanks guys for a pleasant visit. read more

Trying another donut shop to get out of my rut. Super friendly staff and good donuts on par with Mary's. They have seating, coffee, and lottos, although lottery tickets seems an odd think for a donut shop lol I will continu to visit to try other flavors and update as needed. Worth the drive to the east side of Santee! read more

Whenever I'm ready to bury myself in an avalanche of calories, Honey Donuts is my sticky, glazed salvation. They have the most sublime French crullers in existence, and their maple bars melt like warm butter. Most important, they have a myriad of selections at generally inopportune hours (if I'm craving an old fashioned at 4 pm, I'm able to shovel one down like a ravenous animal). So I was on my to work and I decided that I was hungry for so donuts! I went to 7/11 next door and they didn't have donuts; so I went next door to honey donuts and I walked in and a fat Asian lady "greeted" me with the worst attitude and the worst hygiene level I have ever seen! I left the shop immediately without buying anything because how rude,disgusting and disrespectful she was towards me! - I then later went back to give it a try and then I was greeted by this lovely women named Tania, she was very kind and courteous to me because I told her what happened with the other lady! I got a delicious ham and cheese sandwich which was A-1 I'll definitely be coming back when Tania is there! :) read more

A Donut-Hole in the Wall! Get it? No, just me . . . well, let me say this place was delightful. I really enjoyed the donuts, coffee, and customer service. This place is ran by a couple of Asian women, could be my aunts, who knows? Regardless, this is your little hole in the wall donut shop, that happens to sell lottery tickets, and wait for it . . . THRIFTY ICE CREAM! Who doesn't like Thrifty ice cream? If you don't, well there's a church across the street you can go to, and ask for forgiveness. Listen, the donuts are fresh and delicious, so who could complain. The place is pretty small, so if you go on a weekend, pretty typical, it tends to be pretty crowded in there, which is a great sign! Again, I cannot stress enough, but they have great customer service, the women who run the spot are very friendly, and you could possibly win money with a scratcher. What else do you need? Trust me, it's a must try. If you DONUT like it, well then donuts donut like you. read more

The first time I went here I was in absolute awe with how many things they have. Donuts (of course), Thrifty ice cream, sandwiches, croissants, and even lotto tickets!! I had never seen a sandwich at a donut place so I was a little skeptical on how good it can be. But seriously they're better than most sandwich places! I've had the roast beef a few times and the turkey once. Unbelievably good. They serve them warm which is a big plus. They even have avocado you can add. Jon has been my server and his attributes are amazing. He knows the names of all of our small group that goes. I was impressed with how quickly he learned them all. Great place. This place is low key good donut/sandwhich spot. Ive been here couple times already with my kids and they love it. Also their sandwhich is surprisingly good. I had the ham/turkey/pastrami sandwhich, I thought it was going to be so so but when I unwrapped the foil and saw the sandwhich full of meat fresh lettuce,tomato,jalapeno even has olives etc and tasted amazing. Donut fiend is en route to the drive-in, ginormous Honey DONUTS sign catches the eye. Doesn't take much for me to spot a donut shop to begin with. The boyfriend and I picked up a few donuts before heading to the drive in: cinnamon roll, cinnamon sugar donut, crumb cake, and a maple cruller (you know the pretty twisted ones that's moist in the middle). All were very delicious and didn't taste old or dry at all despite being at an odd hour to get donuts. Since it was a Saturday night, there wasn't too much of a selection but judging from the donuts we had, I wouldn't mind coming back to try more. read more

The guys at my work are treated with Donuts every Monday. Unfortunately these aren't the best donuts in Santee/Lakeside area, they miss the cusp by a long shot. Its location is convenient but what makes grabbing a dozen worth while is the lady who works there on Monday mornings. It can be really busy in the morning hours but she's able to shorten any wait times with her hard work and dedication. Her attentiveness, sweet demeanor and warm smile keep me coming back. I honestly recommend this place if you're looking for great service. read more

But instead of loudly saying what why wouldn't you ask a customer can you please repeat what you said . Is that asking too much to have manners when dealing with customers? I don't think so. I was taught to have manners and I always hope if you go to a business to spend money the workers will be grateful and nice. Well, this was not the treatment received today. So,she puts the doughnuts in the bags, one bad for the regular plain ones and the other bag for the donut holes . I decide to have a few of the donut holes, but when I looked in my bag they were glazed donut holes and not the crumb that I had asked for two times while she said what to me instead of excuse me can you repeat it. I was so darn upset, I walked out! I will never be coming back to the Santee location again. This treatment was unacceptable! She is not representing Mary's donuts in a way the owner, Mary would be proud . In a competitive world of donuts, I can go anywhere but had chosen this place. I will go elsewhere next time.

I ordered from the TooGoodToGo app for $5.99, expecting a simple surprise bag of donuts, but what I got was way more than I anticipated! I believe one of the owners prepared my order, and he was incredibly generous with the selection. He even asked if I had a craving for a specific donut and let me pick one from the display as a courtesy choice, which really stood out. It's clear he values TooGoodToGo customers just as much as regular walk-ins, which isn't always the case at other businesses. What impressed me even more was that he selected the donuts fresh from the display, rather than just handing over a pre-packed bag from the previous shift's leftovers. Before I left, he even asked if I needed napkins, such a small detail for some, but it really showed his attentiveness and care for customers. The value was easily three times over, and I ended up with way more than I could eat. The shop itself is quaint and easy to miss while driving, but once inside, it feels incredibly welcoming. The positive energy from the owner makes a difference, you can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does. I don't find myself in Santee often, but I happened to be running errands nearby and saw they had boxes available, so I figured I'd give them a shot. What a tremendous place for amazing donuts, acai, and sandwiches. Everything is excellent! Tasia truly made our visit one to remember. There were many customers in the store and although she seemed as though she was doing a plethora of other things, she was pleasant, has such a huge smile, and got our order perfect. Good donuts, good croissant, just kind of confusing. The menu isn't WRONG, but I failed to see in the small description that mayo, pickles, jalepenos, onions, mustard, lettuce etc come on the Ham&Cheese croissant. Weird having that first thing in the morning, I do not recommend eating a donut when your mouth still has the onion/mustard taste in it. They have a breakfast sandwich at the very bottom for $8.95, it was my fault for not scrolling my eyes to the bottom. Still though, the prices seem high. read more

These donuts were absolutely nasty. I spit the chocolate one out, which I've never done in my entire life. The chocolate tastes like some thing that should be sold at a gardening center. Like tar. Cheap! Yuck. Someone brought these to the office I didn't even order them and they were too nasty not to write a review about. Couldn't even eat them for free! I stopped at Honey's Donuts and couldn't have been happier with the experience. The customer service was friendly and welcoming, and the food more than lived up to it. This donut shop has some delicious donuts! They're soft and fluffy, and the consistency is spot-on. I went around 6 pm on a Saturday, but they were out of a few flavors. I ended up grabbing half a dozen, which was about $8. I'll definitely be back! read more

I love this place. The prices are reasonable. French crullers are better than a lot of other donut shops. Very respectful, honest, hard working people. They also have ice cream and lottery. I didn't win any, better luck next time. read more

With only one machine running and multiple people it was a little slow but well worth the wait. The shop is really small and there is no seating, so be prepared to take your stuff to go. They offer a bunch of different refreshments and sweets as well.
