Chicken pad thai and mango sticky rice
    Jenny P.

Ordered through door dash food was warm, fresh & delicious. Very happy with the service.

    01. Chicken Satay

The item I ordered on the menu in the store and even at the counter when asked about vegetables, she says yes vegetables included. From the picture you can see there are no vegetables and when I call back, she argue with me telling me that's old menu new menu no vegetables. Chicken satay ice cold, dry and inedible. Orange chicken nothing but pieces of breading and dry inedible meat. Call back to request a complete refund at 7:35 PM and they told me they are closed. Come back tomorrow.

So today we were in the mood for some Asian cuisine and what better place to go for lunch... Asian Kitchen yes everything is Asian. It is not Chineese, Vietnamese, Thai, and even Korean it is just Asian. Once can get chicken satay, drunken noodles, beef yum salad, yum woon sen salad, and papaya salad just to name a few of the selections. There is plenty of parking and when allowed there is plenty of indoor seating. It is safe to surmise that they only do take out as I didn't see the place set up for outdoor dinning. during this particular visit my friend and I ordered Hot Basil Stir-Fry and Pad Thai Noodles. They order is made fresh and it tastes so good that I wanted to order more types of food but I just didn't have enough time during my lunch to put in another order. In my opinion you can't go wrong ordering from the menu, we have been trice and every time we were never disappointed. Come on down and support your local restaurant whenever in Santee.

Pad thai to-go was delicious and very well presented, and crab puffs were delicious as always. Service is great as well.

The food here is so good! It was my first time going, and won't be my last. The food portions are giant but SO worth it. I had already eaten part of my fried rice and all of the Vegetables fried spring rolls before I took the picture haha! The people here are SO friendly. Seems like a family ran restaurant. They were so all sweet and so friendly! It is connected to their donut shop this looks absolutely amazing as well! They had music playing and the restaurant was so clean. It was a great choice. 1,000x recommend.

It's a pleasure getting served by the owner . Drunken noodles are pretty good. So far I need to go back and try the shrimp noodles extra spicy. Great service great guy. Thanks Kevin

I ordered to go. Great service. Food was delicious and well packed. The egg rolls are tasty and crunchy. The mango garlic stir fried beef is amazing! I highly recommend this place.

Came here once before in the morning before work just to grab a coffee, and the lady of the Bagel/Donut bar was really nice at the time. Came back a second time, total opposite. Kept stressing to me "she has a big order". It was to the point where i ordered a coffee and she was giving me attitude when i asked for half & half. You do realize that no matter how busy, if you have a paying cusotmer who wants to support a local business, at least give us some respect. Oh and the bagel with cream cheese i ordered only had it on one half!!

    Papaya salad with shrimp added.

Fantastic. Had some time to kill so I walked here and ordered the papaya salad and added shrimp. I got a spice level of 7 and it was plenty spicy. It was refreshing, spicy, sweet, sour, and delicious. I would get again. Service was friendly and fast.

What a surprise! Didn't expect to find such good Cambodian and Thai food away from University Ave, but here they are in Santee! We tried the Phnom Penh noodles, Cambodian beef skewers, and cha katna (Chinese broccoli with chicken), and we were impressed! Great quality and flavors, very authentic and fresh. Those beef skewers are so juicy and flavorful. The noodle soup was packed with fish balls and pork meat (no organ meats which I'm fine with ) and the broth was clear but packed with flavor and condiments on the side to add. The Chinese broccoli was perfectly crispy and the sauce had lots of garlic and a nice kick of chillies. The people are so nice here too! We definitely will go back to try more.

What a rip off this place ordered Thai papaya salad hardly papaya inside only romance leaves first time and the last time here.

My wife enjoys the special soup. So much that she plans detours to Santee since we discovered this restaurant a few months ago. But she is upset that the soup rings up for a $1 more than listed on the menus posted in the window, on the menu board, and on the counter.

Fantastic window into Laotian food!…read more Nam Khao Tod is consistently fantastic, just an explosion of flavor in every bite. Khao Piak Sen is typically very flavorful. I love the starchy noodles and how it thickens the chicken soup. The Lao sausage is also delectable, comes with a fresh and herbaceous sauce with a side of Lao glutinous rice made presumably the traditional way, soaked in water then steamed. It has a wonderful chewy texture that's different from short grained glutinous rice. All of it is amazing and it's hard to deviate from the regular rotation, but my eye is on the Khao Soi and avocado curry next. No complaints about the ambiance, it's cute with plants and wooden tables, and the bathrooms are very clean iykyk. The owner is there pretty consistently working, a sign of good business practice!

The plaza has horrible parking, and we had to aggressively fight for a parking space with another car before we could even walk in. Came here on a Saturday around 6 pm with 2 friends. == FOOD == We got a beef pad see ew, khao soi, and a pork rice. All the food was pretty good. I took off one star because it seemed like the pad see ew was smothered in white pepper. == SERVICE == Service was a bit slow, but we think it was because we were waiting for the rice to be cooked? However, the staff was polite, apologetic about the delay, and very attentive. She gave us free mango sticky rice. == AMBIANCE == Interior is very nice and there is bar seating too. The bathroom is also very clean. If you don't mind a slower-paced meal and a chaotic parking lot, the amazing Lao and Thai flavors are completely worth it!

It can get pretty busy so do Depending on the time of day, it can get busy, but there are usually enough spots to make it manageable. Seating: Inside seating that's casual and comfortable with enough room for let's say 15 groups good for pairs or families. Vibes: Welcome to City Heights! It's not the flashliest place of San Diego but it's a nice local grit and grind neighborhood. It's not overly flashy or trendy, jst a neighborhood spot serving food that clearly comes from culture, family, and tradition. The spot itself is well decorated with Lao and Thai artifacts to represent their culture. There are tvs if you want to catch a show or game and I dig the pop music in the background for a nice familiar tune. Great place for a friendly food adventure or dinner with family. FOOD / DRINKS Dragon Fruit Sugarcane (Recommend) Refreshing and fun. The sweetness of the earthy sugarcane paired really well with the subtle fruitiness of the dragon fruit. It was light, cooling, and the perfect drink to accompany the meal. Sausage Platter (Highly Recommend) This was delicious! The Lao sausage was incredibly flavorful with its herbal notes and spices, while the jerky had that perfect chewy, savory quality that made it hard to stop eating. Pairing everything with sticky rice and papaya salad gave it that unique Lao feel. Mok Fish (Recommend) This impressed me. Delicate fish wrapped and steamed with scentful Southeast Asian herbs and seasonings, creating a dish that felt both comforting and deeply flavorful. It had a home-cooked quality that made it memorable. Chicken Skin Laab (Recommend) Your solid chicken skin crisp but what separates it from your usual crispy chicken skin is the mixed laab herbs and lime. At first, she said the order only could be done on 1 bill. And then later she compromised with 2 bills, 5 people per table. That was nice of her! I just had 2 coffees before entering so I decided to skip ordering Thai tea. But they had a large drink menu, of fruit teas and more. My friend had the lychee tea which was very large and looked super refreshing! They also came by often to top off our waters which was nice. To eat, I ordered the $16.99~, Cashew Chicken Stir Fry with White Rice. It came with onion, green onion, carrots, zucchini, bell pepper, and cashews. The carrots were beautifully cut, but a little too crunchy for me to properly enjoy in the stir fry. Everything else was delicious! I think this could definitely be shared between 2-3 people. It was a lot for me, even after a large hike. The sauce was flavorful and not overly salty. I didn't ask for any spice level, but I think I'd choose mild or medium next time. My friends ordered-- - $12.99, Dirty Fried Chicken: This had a blitz coating of lime, mint, and spices. And it was decorated with thinly sliced green onions with a side of sweet chili sauce. The chicken was hot and plump, not dry, and very much mouthwatering! Would recommend. - $14.99, Thai Grilled Chicken Salad: Grilled Chicken Breast on a bed of mixed green salad, carrots, and cucumbers with peanut dressing. It reminded me a little of chicken satay~ it smelled and looked incredible. I think I might order it next time, when I want something light and fulfilling after a hike. - $11.99, Cream Cheese Avocado Wontons (6PC): These came out piping hot and when you took a bite they were oozing. It was very creamy and when you dip into the plum sauce it's a delectable bite. A nice appetizer to share with the table. - $16.99-$19.99 (depends on what protein you get), Pad Thai: This proportion was manageable for one person. The restaurant used thin rice noodles, but it didn't clump excessively compared to other restaurants. The prices are what you'd typically see at a Pan-Asian restaurant, a few dollars more than what you'd want to spend. But these kinds of restaurants, in my opinion, are for enjoying with others. So, if you're sharing food and all that-- the price is worth it (esp with the quantity that is given). Next time, I would probably order one of their noodle dishes rather than rice.
