The food is good, but simple instructions are not followed time and time again. Spent $40 on a to go order and Just asked for a side of chili sauce and didn't receive any. I also didn't get any soy sauce or utensils and the dumpling sauce that came was barely filled, check the photo. read more

Finest Thai - Container or sauce with very little in it. - Thai Near Me - El Cajon, California

I've been coming here for the past 4 years and even more often since moving back to El Cajon. Now that I'm engaged, my fiancée Mira and I make it a Thursday tradition when we can! The pho is my go-to it's always delicious, and I highly recommend getting extra bok choy. Carol (or Karol) is our favorite server. She's always super friendly, remembers us, and makes every visit feel welcoming. Great food, excellent service, and a place we'll keep coming back! read more

Food was great, I had the yellow curry which is my go to for Thai. The service was quick and attentive. The place is cute inside and relaxing for a quick lunch. read more

I love this place so much! They provide reasonable portions! Thai food restaurants are becoming so stingy with those small little black containers this place gives you an actual meal and for someone who orders out a lot for work I really appreciate that! read more

Stopped in for lunch the other day and was seated by a very friendly server. Ordered the Choo Chee BBQ Chicken. It came out really fast and was piping hot and very tasty. The Jasmin rice was also very good and was perfectly cooked. Enjoyed the iced tea as well. Everything about my lunch was enjoyable. The only negative would be my entree had a couple of ingredients missing based on the menu description. Disappointing but the food was delicious nonetheless. The cook should pay closer attention. I will be back to try other specialties they on their menu. read more

The food is always so yummy! Made fresh to order every time and always ready when they say ready for pick up. We order from here for lunched at least once per month for our office and never have complaints! Thank you Finest Thai! read more

Haven't been here in about 3 yrs. I usually just order a large tom kha soup w chicken and a small rice to go. Which has always been very good. Tonight I ventured out. I ordered takeout online. My yellow curry w chicken came w a small container of jasmine rice. It's very good. The spice level is exactly what I specified. The crab rangoons were meh. I think they gave me 8. Came w a thin dipping sauce. Almost no crab and no crab taste. 99% cream cheese, pretty flat shaped. Perfectly fried. My salt n pepper chicken wings were overcooked so the skin and chicken were tough. Not super flavorful. Came w a medium thick dipping sauce. I ordered a clear tom yum style soup w chicken. There was nothing else but mushrooms in the soup. No lime leaves, no green onions, no lemongrass, no veggies at all. There was a decent helping of chicken and the spice level was exactly what I ordered. Overall, I would only order the yellow curry and chicken again. Extra points for: My food arrived hot and on time. :) 4 items: 3 appetizers, 1 entree was 49$ without tip. read more

Ask anyone and they'll tell you their favorite Thai spot... I'd be surprised if anyone ever mentioned Finest Thai. When people say they don't like Thai food, it's because they ate here. We ordered spicy beef fried rice, red beef curry, chicken pan ang curry and chicken pad Thai noodles, none of which was even decent. Abysmal flavor, no spice and minimal amounts of meat in all 4 dishes. read more

It's in the Target center. It doesn't look like much but.... Oh, boy.... The food is seriously good. And our server could kit have had bigger smile and as super helpful. It's a strip mall Thai place but don't judge Finest Thai only by its ordinary roots. The BBQ chicken was tender, juicy, and superb. The Larb was just as it should be with the right size lettuce cups to actually eat. Every bite was a flavor bomb and it was about $15 each including tip. A bargain. You can pay a lot more, but why. This is a good place with great food and staff. Go and enjoy. read more

I was to meet my friend at Finest Thai. We thought it sounded like a nice restaurant. It was not. I never entered the restaurant because my friend had given up on being waited on and met me outside. The server ignored my friend, who was seated at his table for 12 minutes. When she was able to flag him down, he said he would be with her in a minute. The restaurant was not busy, but she waited. After a few more minutes of being ignored, she caught him again. This time the server seemed to give my friend his attention. Oops. Nope. The restaurant's phone rang, and the server stated that he had to get it. My friend gave him a couple of more minutes then gave up and left. Was service non-existent because my friend was a woman? A senior? By herself? We'll never know. We won't return. read more

The service here is always good. In the area, I prefer this location for their spring rolls and noodle options. The dining room is kinda small but it works. read more

The service was good, a nice young lady took care of us. The food is a different story. Crab rangoons were OK, about the same as other restaurants Ive gotten them at, Yum Woon Sen was pretty good, lots of pork, 2 shrimp, but not tomatoes. The Som Tom was probably the worst I've ever had. More shredded carrot than green papaya, and I don't know how they made the marinade for it but it tasted like they put lemonade in it instead of lime, sugar, fish sauce and tamarind. It was really bad. Didn't even finish it. They did give a big portion of fairly good sticky rice though. the prick Nam pla was just bad, tasted like straight fish sauce with some peppers in it. Don't recommend these dishes. read more

Finest Thai has become our go-to spot for Thai food, easily once a week, sometimes even two or three times if I'm being honest. Even though I live and work in Santee, I don't mind the short drive for food this good. The staff is always warm and welcoming, from the servers to the chefs--everyone greets you with a smile. The portions are generous, especially for the price, and the flavors are consistently spot-on. Their spice scale (1-10) is pretty accurate. I like my food on the spicier side, and their "10++" delivers just the right kick without overpowering the dish. If you love Thai food and have a solid appetite, I highly recommend giving this place a try. It's worth the extra few minutes on the road. read more

I found this tiny place after I got my massage in El Cajon. I decided to try it for the first time. This place is LEGIT!. They serve authentic Thai food. I used to have Thai roommates and they made authentic food almost everyday. I ordered wontons, choo chee bbq chicken sticky rice and Thai tea. I'm going back this weekend with a couple of coworkers. Check them out. You won't be disappointed! read more

I have been to this restaurant twice in the last month and a half. The food was hot, fresh, prepared according to my request and delicious. It was also served in a timely manner. My experience here is always so good. Not only is their food amazing but their customer service is always top-notch.

We did a pick up order. Crabmeat rangoons were good...average. I got the spicy noodle with pork. It was tasty but again, average. The mango sticky rice looked old...but tasted ok. read more

They sent the wrong order, and trying to rectify it on the phone with the was nothing but frustration.

Late night dinner! We hadn't been here in a minute. So we ordered take out through grub hub on the Yelp app. We had the spicy noodle with chicken level 4 and the cashew nut chicken level 4 with white rice. The servings were large tonight. They usually serve good portions but today I felt extra special. Kudos to the cook it was so flavorful and the spicy 4 level was on point. Cooked to perfection! We enjoyed every bite. Plenty of chicken and vegetable in each dish. It was three of us and we still had enough for one more person. Thanks finest Thai for a great dinner. See you again soon read more

Love the food. It's so good. We come here all the time and the quality is truly unmatched. It's the best Thai place around. I've tried the number 1 Thai place on Yelp (Bahn Thai) and honestly I enjoy this more, especially because it's similar quality of food but more affordable and not served on paper plates. read more

This place used to be a favorite, but we won't be coming back. It was dirty and far from sanitary. We ordered the lab salad and two curry dishes, but what we saw was shocking. One employee placed rice on a plate that had her personal keys on it. When I asked for a new one, she complied, but then her coworker ate over the fresh plate before serving it to us. Truly disappointing and unsanitary. read more

Really good. Some of the best pad see ew I have had in El Cajon . Got it with tofu it was really good. They were out of Thai tea with coconut (vegetarian option cuz I can't have dairy) so that was unfortunate. And out of coconut juice. Hopefully they have it next time or incorporate more veggie/vegan options. Only 3 pieces of broccoli more would have been nice . Great service . Will come again . read more

Yesterday we got take out from a Thai restaurant we had not tried before, and it was disappointing. Today we went to Finest Thai, which we have not gone to for a few years. Finest Thai is about a mile away from the other place. I ordered the cashew nut with chicken from both places. I ordered the same dish today mainly so I could compare Finest Thai with that other place. Finest Thai really nailed the dish. It was colorful, fragrant and tasty, with plenty of bell peppers, carrots, celery, and of course cashews. The broth gave the rice a great flavor as well. I ordered a spice level of 5, and it was just right for me. If you like your food very spicy you might try 6 or 7. Finest Thai's shrimp fried rice and yellow curry were also tasty. We will definitely be going back to Finest Thai. It was a good value for the price. read more

We ordered beef pad Thai and it was trash. Noodles were soggy with an awful flavor and the beef was bleh. I would not recommend pad Thai here, it tasted nothing like pad Thai. We probably would not go back here to try anything else on the menu. Try this place out at your own risk but I would not recommend. read more

Love their food always had great delivery service and wonderful meals. Their Pad Thai is always perfect. Food is fresh never greasy

So i love this place if i am eating there or picking up, but if ordering through a delivery service, forget it. When ordering for delivery, they seem to never read the special instructions such as no spice or no specific vegetable etc. which makes it a bummer cause I want to enjoy the food. Yes, i can go pick it up and order it myself but sometimes life happens and it's just easier to order delivery. Now, when eating there, it's perfect. The food is delicious and flavorful. Id recommend the place but not for delivery read more

I always get take out from here, they have really bomb pad see ew!! That's my favorite thing to order. I think the only thing I didn't care for was the mango and sticky rice which was disappointing. I have ordered from here twice. Don't ask me why I gave it another chance... Oh yeah, because El Cajon is super limited. The first time everything seemed passable if you're desperate. 5/10 But the second time! Ooof... 1/10 for effort? Sadly I'm referring this to the basic white person dish of pad Thai. Which was soooooo dried out I could feel it actively constipating me as it went down my throat. The noodles were over cooked and dry to the point that they absorbed my saliva like a desperate sponge. Then there was the dirt...The gritty, crunchy, sandy dirt. I could not tell if it came from unwashed bean sprouts or scallion, or if it was from the fried tofu that was dropped on the floor and then served. Every bite was like eating a sandcastle. I've never been so dissatisfied by a Thai restaurant in my life. The cook on 4/20/22 at 9:20PM needs to be relieved of their duties, they have no business in a kitchen. I honestly feel like my body is asking me to purge this atrocious meal, to run far far away and never come back. read more

Dropped in for a Thai tea and to try a few appetizers with my daughter. Our waitress, Khloee, immediately greeted us so we decided to dine in. We ordered spring rolls, crab wontons, and wings and were definitely not disappointed. With our food, we were give a few condiments which were a couple of hot sauces, possibly siracha and a chili paste, and a spiced vinegar... all were pretty tasty. The spring rolls were very fresh and came with its own peanut like condiment which was really good. Our wings were crispy and slightly sweet w/ what I think was cumin? It paired well with the sides of hot sauces on the table. The crab wonton was also crispy on the edges and enjoyable. The Thai tea with boba was very good. Although this was a quick snack we definitely plan to return to try the entrees. Service was quick and our waitress was very attentive and sweet while working the dining area, cashier and phones alone. We definitely ensured to tip her extra!! I sure hope the owners realize how hard it is to find workers like that these days. We definitely appreciate knowing that we have a quaint Thai spot locally. It appears others must enjoy also since within the 40 minutes we sat there we seen many take out order go. read more

On the Thai food scale this place is a 3.5 out of 10. I hate being this guy but any criticism is good criticism. One of the worst we have had. All the food we ordered (Pad Thai, Eggplant, Fried Rice) was bland. The texture was as if the food had been sitting out for hours then microwaved. Just not good in any way.
