Eric's quote was reasonable, well thought out and easy to understand. Of the 4 bids I requested, Wire Genie came in the middle in price but Eric was heads and above in his consideration and scoping of the task whereas many other installers seemed to be guestimating effort. Eric had a number of helpful suggestions both from camera positioning to running lines for future use and he did a phenomenal job on running a POE Doorbell camera behind brickwork and only needing one access cut that, at his suggestion, we put a 2-outlet blank faceplate over for future access/maintenance if needed. All cables were carefully labeled and terminated into my server rack patch panel. Awesome work!

Eric is now that guy for me with networking. My home has never had good internet. It was built before internet was much of a thing, it's stone, has radiant barrier, outdated connections, nonstandard shape, etc. I prepped Eric for these challenges among others and told him I had very high standards. He was undeterred and we set up a consultation. Eric had to have really impressed me, as I let him drill through stone which is highly uncharacteristic of me. I now have rock solid WiFi both inside and outside my house ~600Mbps for an extended distance and constant speeds over Ethernet even faster than that. I highly recommend Eric to bring an old home up to modern technological standards.

This was in 2019. And once just recently to remount some TVs. His work is just incredibly precise, and the finishes in all areas (jacks, speakers, drywall, network racks, etc) is perfect. He's a great problem solver, and willing to go above and beyond to make the customer happy. As if all that wasn't good enough to recommend his services, his prices are extremely competitive.

On June 2nd Jason said he had the new hard drive and needed another day or 2, On June 9th Jason said I could pick up my computer and I did. The next day my computer crashed again. So I decided to purchase a new computer and when the tech came to my home to set up my new computer, he asked where is your old hard drive, I said Jason Computer Repair didn't give it back to me. I text Jason I would like my old hard drive back, he lied and said he gave it to me the day I picked up my computer that I must have lost it. I said no you did not give it back to me. I was getting nowhere with Jason so I took my original old computer that Jason said he put in a new hard drive in to A computer Engineer in Austin, What they found inside was an old hard drive, older than my old computer (there was no new hard drive and he did not download my old info onto the old drive he installed. The computer Engineer gave me the proof of the older hard drive and they could not recover any of my data, there was nothing. So I gave Jason another chance and asked him if he would look around to see if he could find my old hard drive and he lied and still insisted he gave it to me. I have no idea what he did with my original hard drive or who has all my old info. Now I am experiencing stolen identity. My Amazon Prime account stolen, I have had to report all my credit cards stolen...it is a nightmare. All my info with user names and passwords were on that original old hard drive, My social security info, my medicare info, etc. etc.....I do not know for sure if Jason sold my info but it is sure crazy that he will not return my original hard drive....Did he put in someone else's computer ? Did he sell my info ? I don't know for sure what has happened to my original old hard drive, all I know is that Jason was the last person to have it and is lying about giving it back to me. I ask how someone can do this and I just don't know unless he is selling info for money? All I know for sure are is that we trusted Jason and took my computer to him on May 14th, I picked up only my computer on June 9th, Jason refuses to return my original hard drive, he did not replace with a new hard drive and charged me for it. It is the worse computer experience I have ever had. I have NEVER before, as an electrical engineer and diddling with computers for 30 years, run across a tech support guy as good and honest as Patrick (and no, he is not my brother, a prior friend, or even remotely related, and I receive NO kickbacks). Honest, competent, does what he SAYS he will do, reliable, cost effective, NO hassle or bait and switch. He showed up ahead of time at my house (!) with my fixed dinosaur computer and was actually going to charge me for a 128 GB SSD replacement C: drive though he actually put in a 256 GB drive only because he was out of inventory of the 128's. Is that gonna happen at Fry's or Best Buy or ... NOPE, not on your life. I will use him for ALL my computer needs in the future. Bad reviews look very suspicious to me like they are staged possibly from a competitor's friend looking for someone more "responsibal" when they should be looking for a dictionary on how to spell responsible. Honest Computer lives by the name. Patrick is courteous, kind, understanding, very good at his business. I have an 18yr old Autistic daughter who's favorite thing to do is to be on her computer. The service was very quick and my Autistic daughter was literally jumping for joy. He's honest doesn't overcharge or do added or unneeded services. Hey also fixed my lap top perfectly. I'm going thru throat cancer and I'm on a cane with head injury and service people take advantage of of me. I also can't go places to take my stuff and Patrick made everything so easy. I've never given a review on Yelp but he is so worth recommending to everyone that I can get to. Believe me you'll be a returning and recommending customer. I had been plagued with a computer that gradually slowed over several years and eventually would not even start, and a laptop for work that seemed to take forever to do simple tasks. Patrick was able to diagnose the problem for my computer and now it's faster than anything I've previously owned. Turns out I just needed a solid state drive. Within a day, I had a fully functional gaming machine, ha! About a month later, I returned to Honest Computer Repair with my slooow laptop. He had it fixed within a day, again! Also needed a solid-state drive in this case. The laptop seemed good as new (cleaned inside and out as well). He even did a free virus scan and worked with me to free up space afterwards. When I brought it to the shop, he was able to fix it in a couple minutes (okay, so maybe the fault was mine that I couldn't figure out what was wrong on my own and fix it...) but I was absolutely delighted. I'd become very familiar with the Blue Screen of Death a few days prior to giving him a call and tried to fix things myself (poorly), but Shane resolved the issue within a matter of hours, on my time, at my location. He even had the required parts on hand that were an upgrade to what I currently had installed. I even learned a lot just from discussing the issues with him, and I consider myself relatively tech savvy. Oh, and the computer runs better than I remember it running in years. I can't say enough nice things about Secret Simple, and I highly advise you give them the chance if you're wanting something fixed and fixed right.

Nice guy but immediately I new I was wasting money and time. He'd was basically running through a list on his phone identical to what i had dug up on the internet and tried myself. Not even close and I called it after a wasted hour and $160 I called Shane back. He came as promised right on time next day. Immediately diagnosed the problem. ( confirmed my worst fears ). He then proceeded to recover and preserve my data ( most important to me ) replaced the drives, reloaded windows with all the of specialized settings of this specialized system and got me going. Quick, precise , reasonable, I'll never use anyone else.
