I have to make an edit and drop down the stars. The customer service is a bit odd. The wine I'm pretty sure they only poured half glasses and still charged full amount. And at the milk house they overcharged and when I pointed it out they made some strange excuse. And the quiche was $11! For that small slice This is a hidden gem but you can't expect too much. Initially, I thought this was a high-end resort, but without the high-end resort prices. And it's definitely not that you should think of it more as sort of a fancy cottage that has almost a family run feel. If you think of it this way then you won't expect too much and then it makes a lot more sense. Everyone here seems like they're trying very hard . And I understand what was going on when we got there because there's a lot of construction going on. We also ate here for dinner in one of the globes and they're trying to serve multiple groups and people so service was kind of just ok. I have one gripe, though, it was $24 for two glasses of wine and each one was about the amount of a 1/2 glass. I think our server was pretty green though. It is a beautiful place. Absolutely beautiful and not crowded. The pool is incredible. The parking lot not so much. Disclaimer: "Advised to NOT stay here until after construction is complete in early 2027* Not one bit of information was available on the website or in any of the emails I received letting us know that the many "resort" amenities were under construction and no longer available. So imagine our surprise when we arrive for a two night stay during spring break at this "resort" and have no idea where to park as everything is under construction. We finally circle a dirt parking lot a few times trying to find a building to check-in but all we find is an empty golf cart saying guest services. I try repeatedly calling the office # on my reservation yet no one answers. We finally come across another family that tells us we can walk all the way around or wait until a golf cart arrives. Well we have several pieces of luggage so we wait. And wait. And wait. Then the golf cart shows up and there is no way we can fit all of our items on, so we had to wait for a second cart. The check-in process was fine except for the rude gal who seemed annoyed by my questions, like how long does the construction go on throughout the day. 6am-10pm by the way. There is a small "restaurant" on site called The Sunroom but is only open Friday & Saturday. The Milk House serves a few premade items that get heated up in a microwave and taste weeks old and during our stay one gal was taking care of the whole place. The room was okay. The pullout bed was awful and the patio would be nice if you enjoy listening to a huge jackhammer and the beeping noises of other construction vehicles from sunup till after sundown. The tv reception was hit & miss and there were no children's channels. There was a sound machine that helped slightly. The itty bitty bottles they left us for the shower did not suffice for 3 humans. Oh and if you need ice, you have to ask the front desk. The only highlight of our stay was the pools. They were enjoyable and each had a different temperature that could make you comfortable whether you like them cooler, warmer or hot. Also, everything is handled via text. They don't answer phones, and even texts take awhile to return. The day before we were to check out I asked specifically for a cart to pick us up at 11:30am, we waited and waited and no one showed up, so I then again texted asking for a pickup. This resort was expensive for just a decent room and a pool. The Best Western would have been nicer. They either need to make future guests more aware of the lack of amenities and discount the pricing for false advertisement. Eventually this is going to be a very nice Marriott resort and by then the price will have doubled for a stay. However, our family was beyond disappointed in the money paid for what should have been a relaxing getaway. read more

We love coming up here for a stay-cation and were thrilled to be able to enjoy all the pools this time! We have stayed in two updated rooms and the double queen standard room was fine- felt like a nice hotel room. No complaints. The bunk bed room with two double beds though-- loved! The private porch was fantastic and the space was perfect for putting our boys to bed. The pools are wonderful- they let you use them until 4 on the day you check out. I wish you could order a drink IN the pool but alas... you can't. They have a limited menu for poolside but you can't get full service at the restaurant. The pools were good for our 5 and 8 year old even without a life jacket. You can't bring toys! It is a beautiful space but there is a TON of construction going on up front- parking is harder and you can't drive up to rooms/buildings right now. read more

The room was very nice and modern. But.... 1) there was no desk so I had nowhere to deal with work issues. 2) there was no closet! I ironed my clothes each night, and had no where to hang them. 3) the desk staff were inconsistent in the info provided at check in to our group. Some people were told to call the front desk to ask for maid service. Most were not. We were there for 3 days and when we went back to the room in the evening and found maid service not done, it was too late to ask for it and we were checking out the next day. 4) I had 1 very small garbage can in my room. Because I was not told to ask the front desk for maid service, it was over flowing after the 2nd day. 5) there were no spare blankets in a closet, well, because I didn't have one of those. I had to crank up the heat because the 1 blanket on the bed was very light and I was freezing. 6) the soap given for the sink and shower were really small. By the 3rd day, I was trying to wash my hands and body with slivers of soap. I realize hotels have a fine line between not enough soap and wasting it because the bar is too large, but these bars were ridiculously small. 7) Our group ate hotel food for all the breakfasts and lunches and 1 dinner. Many people complained about not liking it. I thought it was ok, but I didn't eat most of the breakfast items. I just had fruit and yogurt and oatmeal. I didn't eat any of the other items offered. I also stuck to salad at lunch and didn't try the majority of the food offered. The dinner we had at the hotel offered chicken, fish and butternut squash ravioli. I tried the ravioli and it was disgusting because it was sweet. I have had savory butternut squash pasta before and this was definitely not anywhere near savory. They did also offer some roasted veggies and I absolutely LOVED those as did several other people in our group. 8) the bathrooms in the main area by the front desk were disgusting for such a pricey hotel. They were dirty and old and sometimes didn't work and I felt gross just walking into them. I've used gas station bathrooms on road trips that were cleaner and nicer than this place. Would I stay here again? No. I've stayed in other hotels in this area and I'd go back to those or try a new one before coming back here. read more

What the eff happened to this once beautiful place? The old main building, torn down. Restaurant gone, whatever dining on site is bare minimum with only a couple things. Breakfast is non existent, pre made breakfast burritos and old pastries. Parking is still a dirt lot as it has been for the past two or three years. We tried AGAIN!, this time we decided just to try the new restaurant "Sunroom" as the other places are under renovation First the parking lot ...... umm are you waiting for a lawsuit ? Pot holes the size of my car tire, no direction as to what way to drive or parking spots. We found what we thought was an appropriate spot to park and immediately upon exiting the car stepped into a hole, it was dark out. Fortunately I did not fall or twist my ankle. BTW, construction was ongoing at 6:30p with no lights. We could hear the poor guys nailing the roof in the dark, and machinery moving around. where is OSHA? We proceeded to the sunroom for a meal. A cute little spot with an amazing server, trying to do his best. He described the menu, small plates that are shareable, nice concept, you get to try out a few options. We decided on, baked Mac n cheese, deviled eggs carbonara, and guanciale meatballs. By the way, for an additional dollar you can buy a piece of day old toast bread as the meatballs are over sauced. sure! deviled eggs came out (2) with crumbled bacon on it $14 Next, the baked Mac n cheese $12 and meatballs ($18) arrived. I had to smoother the Mac n cheese with pepper to get a taste, very bland, and about 4 heaping tablespoons of Mac n cheese was the serving size. Then we dug into the meatballs (4). My first bite, a long hair was tangled in my mouth . As I dragged it out, parts of meatballs hanging on it, the server just happened by and was mortified, quickly removed the plate and asked if I would like something else. Dumb me said sure, I'd really like meatballs minus the hair please. Shortly after that, he arrived with the meatballs. This time they were cold on the inside, sauce tasted like ragu, and yes, toasted day old bread. Oh, let's not forget the chunk of something, my husband thought was a filling, but probably bone from the ground meat. No we were not charged for the meatballs. The restaurant does not have a kitchen in it, so the poor server had to run outside to the milk house to get our food. The food appeared to be microwaved and far from good. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT eat there. Save your money and appetite for much nicer places in Midway : Hidden Peak Provisions, Pizza Yard, Mercantile to name a few just a short drive away. This is a gorgeous and peaceful resort located in Midway. The town is sleepy but it's really growing a lot and I loved our newly renovated room. Honestly one of the nicest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. The shower was ginormous and all the appliances were new. They even had a Nespresso machine and pods. Standard king size bedroom came with a couch and tv and a patio with a fireplace. I could see a deer in the grass from my front door. Also everything is energy efficient and the room was so warm! Bedding was new and nice, It's the perfect spot for a little weekend getaway and I highly recommend it. We also loved the Milk Room. Excited to see what other updates they do with the giant new pool. read more

We had another wonderful reunion at the Homestead. We have been holding our reunions at the Homestead since 1987, every two years. This reunion over July 4th weekend this year was our best. Thanks to Lexie and the staff at Homestead. It was fun to see our servers at every meal, and we surely appreciated the Front Desk as well. This resort is so beautiful however the ambiance was dimmed by the constant noise of construction equipment pounding the earth. 7:30 AM - 9 PM - Pounding. Shaking the room. We arrived around 6 PM after the sun had gone down & there weren't lights anywhere so we could not see the signs directing people where to go. The lights on the paths & villa exteriors were also out - could not see a thing. The staff seemed really nice. Every hotel/resort I've ever stayed has a microwave or things you can get at the front desk like a toothbrush. They didn't have any complimentary items like that. Overall an extremely satisfying experience. The person who checked us in didn't know how to apply the gift card so my dinner went on my credit card instead of the gift credit. Tue great thing is, the morning clerk was extremely sharp, well trained, professional, courteous and helpful. Great service. This review is specifically for the Homestead Crater swim experience. Arrived at 6:15pm for a 6:30pm reservation and was told to wait until the exact time. Once inside, it's definitely hectic with the last swim/scuba group coming out to get changed in the small hallway while you are trying to sign in. We arrived in our bathing suits and put our shoes in the small lockers. Life jackets are required no matter your age, which hindered the experience (but I understand why). In 2010 there was a death here from a swimmer diving. There is no jumping or touching the crater walls during the swim session, so essentially you're just bobbing around with about 15-20 other swimmers. There was also a big scuba class going on at the same time we were there. The crater is about 40 x 60ft, so it was pretty cramped with that many people inside. We stayed for about half of our swim time before leaving. It was definitely beautiful to see and explore, but I don't think I would return. read more

The resort is under construction and being remodeled, so first let's start there. I think once it's done it will be stunning. I would absolutely return. We stayed in a King room which was perfect for 2 adults. The bed was literally one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. I was not expecting to be so content. The grounds were clean, and the holiday lighting was beautiful in the snowy setting. "Picturesque" comes to mind. The room was clean and bright. Service was excellent. Truly. Everyone was super friendly and the hotel runs well - it's obvious that it's well-managed. I will also say that regarding the suggestions below, we've already received emails from management stating they appreciated our ideas. Great way to have a repeat customer - to listen. We had a few suggestions that we already shared - each room should have a coat hook, especially with the cold and the proximity to Park City/Deer Valley. It just makes sense. Ours did not. Nor did it have a spot to sit aside from the bed to take boots off/put them on. There are secure locks/deadbolts in the mechanism but if I had been traveling alone I would want more security than that - like one of the door stoppers up top - one never knows who else is traveling, and though most humans are good people, sometimes you get a weirdo. Women/Men/non binary/genderqueer, however you identify, *people* deserve to feel safe. We also didn't have a "Do Not Disturb" sign, which as a married couple could've lead to a spicy sight for housekeeping, one that I'm sure they wouldn't want... We were only there for 2 nights and I didn't want housekeeping coming in - but they sure did. Grateful, but I wish I'd had the option to opt out. Wifi is guest/public access so make sure you're encrypted if you have any sense of cybersecurity. The Milk Bar is adorable. From what I've been told their drinks and food are excellent, however they were woefully understaffed and got bogged down when a large family (12?) came in and ordered. We weren't even acknowledged for 20 minutes and decided to leave without experiencing it. The Crater was really cool! Totally worth checking out. The views from up top were beautiful. Looking at the construction below I can see that this place will be a gorgeous destination resort. I think in order to really up the ante they should partner with a local soap maker or do something more upscale than "soap in a bag" for the amenities. I certainly would enjoy staying here again. It was clean, quiet, and well maintained. Management is responsive and the area is stunning. Do yourself a favor and book a room here. I think a lot of the one star reviews are unfounded - if you know that the place is under construction then why complain about it when amenities aren't available? I'm sitting in my room on a quiet Sunday morning-listening to the melodic snore of my neighbor in the room next door. Last night, I could hear their conversations (I knew where they ate for dinner and what their plans were for today), along with what they were watching on TV. My point is-these walls are thin! The room is pretty dated with tacky floral curtains and strange artwork that doesn't fit with the overall vibe of the resort. The beds are comfortable, but the pillows are lumpy-leading me to believe they have served their purpose and beyond. The bathroom may not be insulated at all-a quick walk over the tile in the middle of the night will wake you right up. For the price of $200 per night I would have expected a little more. I think you're paying for location (the mountains are spectacular and the grounds are very pretty with all the winter lights and falling snow), but the room itself is very lackluster. read more

Well I'd say my review is supported by the other 100+ customers that have left 1 star reviews. Wow, 60% of your reviews are scathing, unhappy patrons. That speaks volumes. If you're a potential customer looking for a place to go dine or stay, look elsewhere. Seriously. What could be a charming little nook in the hills above Midway turned out to be the worst customer service of my life. Nearly to the point of being assaulted by their 'chef'. More like their hack cafeteria cook if we're being honest. I was literally poisoned, food or biologically poisoned white dining there and had to make an 'emergency' exit! Violent vomiting I. The parking lot where the chef chased me outside and tried to start a fight with me while I was hunched over vomiting. This wasn't typical flu illness. This was a poisoning. I went to the Homestead on the third and the fourth to 5 July. I booked through Expedia and paid in full. I went on my first day and everything was OK. And the next day I was accosted by the staff and I was arrested Cuffed bag on my head and was charged with trespassing. I told them that I had booked through Expedia and I have my receipt and everything on my phone and they said because I hadn't checked in at the front desk that I was trespassing. I explained to them that I was a midway resident and I lived across the street and wasn't planning on using the room. As I had pets. And I wanted to save the staff and frankly the resort the effort of making my room up anyhow I was in jail for 12 hours and charge with trespassing. I've yet to see anybody give me up Refund or an apology. It was embarrassing and quite frankly disgusting so stay away from these people. In the dictionary, you'll see a picture of this resort under "dump". There is nothing even closely resembling a resort except maybe.... Maybe because everyone is very nice. We saw the sign for the property and turned in despite the GPS saying we we had 1/2 a mile to go. Certainly this isn't it so we went to where the GPS thought we should go. Back we came and got checked into our "condo". I really think, for 350 bucks a night, we could have furniture from at least this century that isn't worn out, outside trash cans that are not over flowing and perhaps, sidewalks that aren't tripping hazards and at least a little clean so you don't track mud and gravel everywhere. Everything is beaten up. Stained walls with chipped paint, baseboards look mauled, kitchen sink stained, dinning table looks horrible, one sink didn't work, ice in the fridge is brown, most light bulbs are burned out... the list goes on and on. No coffee for the coffee maker. Dishwasher was running when we checked in with nothing in it. Are two of three blinds acceptable? Maybe the "renovation update" on the website should have clued us in. Instead of renovation, this joint needs a tear down and rebuild. A nice touch this morning was the workers having a good old time outside the "condo" at 6:30am. Seriously, this experience was so bad, it's comical. When we left, we let the desk clerk know we didn't think this "condo" should be booked due to the problems and the construction. She refunded our resort fees (30 bucks). Hopefully the manager sends us an apology email with some sort of refund news. If this happens, I will make a comment here. Run away as fast as you can. I can't imagine the 59 dollar a night motel we saw on I-80 could be worse. read more

My employer did a weekend conference and it wasn't the greatest experience. 1. The AC was broken in our room. Maintenance said the switch board was out so it wouldn't be fixed until the next day. The next evening it turned on but wouldn't allow you to control. The thermostat said "controlled from a central location". I've never been to a resort that didn't allow you to control the room temperature. 2. None of the TV channels worked. The system they use just had a spinning loading symbol in the corner. In 3 days, it turned on 1 for about 20 min and then went back to not working. They do have HBO max with no login but it would kick me out every 30-40 min. and getting back is a hassle. 3. The WiFi is terrible. Again, I went for a work conference and it would come in and out 4. No convenient plugs by the beds, I had to move a dresser to plug in my phone. - staff was friendly, food is good and my room was clean. A lot of activity's and very family friendly. Most of the time you're outdoor and the property is very well taken care of. read more

Worst hotel experience ever! When we arrived at 4:30 our room was still not available (check-in 4PM). Front desk apologized and said they would waive the resort fee ($15 day) Finally at 4:45 our room became available. My wife and I settled into our room and snuggled into the bed. You can imagine our horror and surprise when we discovered that the previous occupants love juice was all over the sheets. I have never been so disgusted in my entire life! This is UNACCEPTABLE especially in the time of COVID-19. If the cleaning staff is cutting corners on sheets what else are they cutting corners on (This kept going through my head during the entire visit)? I sincerely doubt that they are cleaning the rooms as advertised on the website. It will take a very long time to get the image of that dirty sheet out of my mind. Upon checkout the front desk tried to make up for the tainted stay by offering $30 off our bill and waiving resort fee (not enough in my opinion). They also said a manager would call me which didn't happen. My wife and I came here on our honey moon thirteen years ago and were hoping to re-kindle the magic on this visit. Instead we got a disgusting room that was run down and totally unacceptable. Our stay was tainted by this experience! We spent a lot of money for a glorified motel 6 with a jacuzzi tub (AKA Luxury Suite) I wish we would have booked somewhere else as the cleaning staff ruined our trip! Do not stay here if it you want to sleep in past 6 am. The rooms are built so h ear every guest, even though we are in what is suppose to be an expansive family style suite. I am literally here right now, and besides the room above us sounding like they have been playing basketball for 3 hours, they literally started using a chainsaw outside our room at 8am. This is not really for some, but a good portion of the resort guests were at a BYU game that ended at midnight, and did not get back to the resort until around 1:30 AM. In addition to the chain saws and kid running around above us, there is a major ant infestation, which I found out the hard way. I have stayed at Zermatt, their other resort, many times, but will NEVER stay here again. read more

I stayed at this resort in April, and the stay was good. Customer service was EXCELLENT! The resort may not have been the best, but the customer service definitely made my experience great! Lovely and knowledgeable front desk staff and everyone was very helpful and friendly. Any issue that was reported was quickly resolved. The resort is sort of in the middle of nowhere, which is nice. But, there needs to be more food options available at the resort. Luckily we had a catered dinner the first night and catered lunches the other days. But it would've been nice to have more options. I guess the restaurant was under construction/closed during my 3 night stay. I was able to partake in the breakfast buffet ($22) one morning, and that was okay. The food definitely could have been better. The biscuits were a tad bit too hard, the breakfast potatoes were somewhat burnt as well. DoorDash options were VERY slim (McDonald's and Subway). I was in my first trimester during my stay, so it was ROUGH! Luckily for dinner we would go out into the nearby downtown area to eat some amazing food! If you visit, definitely venture out and explore! Park City was definitely the highlight of the trip. The balcony room was very spacious, clean, and had a lovely layout! The bed was very comfy (soft yet firm, perfect!) and mostly everything in the room worked well. I wish that there was a microwave in the room though, but it was okay. My only 2 complaints were that 1: my key (and this occurred for others as well) timed out during my 2nd day there. So I couldn't get into my room. But that was quickly resolved (fast and excellent customer service). And 2: the shower ran cold for an hour, I had it on fully to the hottest level, to try and get the hot water to flow. But I eventually had to settle for a cold shower. That was just the first morning. When I returned from my retreat activity I checked again and it was hot. I've never experienced that before. But other than those things, the room was great! During my company retreat we were able to choose from a variety of resort experiences. I chose to visit the crater and to walk the property. The property is quite large and absolutely lovely! The scenery is absolutely breathtaking! Breathing in that crisp air, looking at the beautiful hills and mountains, and looking down at all of the greenery was breathtaking. I just hated that there was construction going on, but it's nice to see that they were investing in improving the property. So not a negative. I loved this part of the trip. I then ventured to the crater where the hot spring is. This was such a relaxing experience. The water was nice and warm, and I enjoyed floating and relaxing. I was able to really clear my mind while in here. I was by myself, there were some divers below me. I couldn't stay in long due to a fear of raising my body temp (pregnant) but this was definitely needed after a crazy morning of nausea and hip/back pain. I felt absolutely renewed after my floating session. I had 15-30 minutes by myself (until the next group showed up). I believe that each group gets maybe 30 minutes to an hour. My group was leaving when I arrived. Overall, this was an okay experience. The room was nice, but needed some improvements. The customer service was EXCELLENT! The experiences and the property was lovely, minus the construction. And there was just a lack of restaurant options. I wouldn't return, but it's nice to have had this experience. If I would've paid for this stay, I would've been very upset and would have requested a discount of some sort. It's not worth what they are asking for per night. Definitely just come visit the crater and I recommend staying somewhere in Park City downtown area. read more

Spent one night only but was very good experience, even though we didn't get one of the cute little houses as 'room' (our mistake thinking we made the reservation for a different day!). Overall was a great experience. My boyfriend choose that place because is so close to the ice castles he wanted to show me as highlight of a wonderful Christmas season, plus it was very comfortable and he remembers spending time there with his family when he was a kid. So it was a very nice introduction of the area for me. The room was spacious, comfortable and warm. So I'm gonna start this review just by saying how important it is to read all these reviews people have left and believe everyone of them before you stay here. My husband and I are celebrating our honeymoon so we road tripped all the way from Anaheim, California to this so called "resort" First! We got here 12/27 right around check in time luckily we didn't have any trouble with our room not being ready yet like I have heard most have! We paid more than $200 a night and we're gonna stay 3 nights here at their deluxe cottage and trust me when I say this place is not at all worth staying here for the price! It was overall a run down room with nasty stains and you can tell it was falling apart! Second! If things weren't bad enough we were in a two story house type of room and got stuck at the bottom. All night you could here the family at the top stomping on the floor while we were trying to get some sleep after spending hours in the car trying to get here. We told each other forget this and decided to only stay one night and check out the next morning Lastly! I am giving this review 2 stars only because the of how professional the staff handled our situation. They really understood the overall issue and let us check out early without any problems. I hope that everyone who reads this review finds it helpful and please check your options around the area when it comes to hotels I'm sure there are other nicer places out there for the same or even lower price! read more

I was so disappointed in this company, not only as a consumer, but also as a former travel professional. I haven't had a child of the hospitality degree and never in my life. Have I seen a company that is such a rip off I called and purchased a gift for my son and his girlfriend. I wanted to make sure it covered enough money to give them a night stay to soaks at the crater and was assured that $150 would cover and then I wanted to add $50 spending money to be used for food credit. They were nice enough to type up a letter and mail it to my son. It was purchased shortly before Christmas, but I never knew that date of what it was expiring. About 10 months later my son and the girl broke up and over Thanksgiving. I asked my son if they had ever used the getaway and he said no. I was in the process of coming down to Utah shortly after New Year's and I called right after Christmas to see if I could use the $200 credit. I explained the situation to the young lady at the front desk and she was able to quickly pull up my name and credit card information and told me that it had expired approximately 8 days prior. I explained that I lived in another state but was hoping that I could use the credit to come and stay. I explained I had cancer and would appreciate the credit. I was told that it was against policy and there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to the manager and I have never been treated so rudely by anyone in my life. I was told that they do not offer refunds and I said I don't want a refund. I would like credit to come and stay at the hotel and a creator soak. I said in fact, I don't even need it for two people. I would just like to come by myself and he said they couldn't do that because they would be losing money and I said I don't understand how you would be losing money because you never sold a room or the extra money I paid to create a package giving them a $50 credit for meals was never purchased. I thought I was doing something convenient for my son. and had I known that I would've just Venmo him $200 to stay and eat wherever he wanted. I even asked what options they could do to work with me. I asked if they could you give me a crater soak and a meal and I will purchase a hotel room and was told nope sorry we will lose money. I even asked if they would offer me a medical rate so I could at least come down and stay and I was told no we don't offer any of that either. It's not like I wanted something for nothing. They had all of my information in their computer and proof that I purchased some thing one year and eight days previously. I gave this company $200.00 just two weeks before Christmas. You would think that they would at least let it expire the first of the year but nope, it expired two weeks before Christmas on the exact day, I called them. There wasn't even a grace period to allow all the letter or the US mail to deliver it. What a fraud and what a what a disappointment and not a reputable company. Buyer beware don't purchase a gift because if it's not used, they just keep the money at least Visa gift card gives you a little courtesy time and they only take a few dollars each year. At least you have some time to use it. read more

HMy husband and I came here from Southern California for our anniversary. The resort (on the outside) was absolutely beautiful and we were so excited to stay there. Shelby checked us in. She was very nice and friendly, but did warn us that she may have taken the microwave out of our room, which I found to be very odd, considering not many people were at the resort and it was a promised amenity listed on their website when booking. When we got to our room, the first thing I noticed was that it was NOT at all as advertised. No microwave in our room. Broken furniture. The entire room was absolutely filthy (luckily, we brought our own cleaning supplies due to covid). The A/C wall unit was extremely loud to the point that it vibrated the room and we could barely hear the T.V. The bed was VERY uncomfortable (I woke up multiple time throughout each night of our stay). The WiFi signal was also very weak. Poor quality all around. We even called 20 minutes after being in our room about getting a better room and they told us, "all the rooms are the same". During our stay we did the crater soak, which was amazing. Best part of our stay here. We also enjoyed driving into town. The area is beautiful up here. But I would never stay here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else. Enjoy the crater, but don't actually stay here. Upon checking out, Kay was very kind but couldn't figure out how to work the computer. She asked how my stay was and I was honest in saying that THEY need to be upfront with the quality of the rooms. If I knew the condition, I would never have spent almost $300 to stay here for 2 nights. She apologized and said hopefully they will provide us with a discount. Not only did we have to leave without receiving a receipt or an actual check-out, but we were charged the full amount and never received an apology for the poor quality. Everyone was nice here. I only wish the rooms reflected how nice the outside property looked. Overall we were very disappointed, as this was a special trip we made for our anniversary. The quality does not match the price at all. We would NOT recommend this hotel at all. I only wish we would have looked at the reviews on yelp prior to staying here. Trust me... After reading so many negative reviews we were mentally prepared for our stay. It wasn't as bad as we thought but that's probably because our standards weren't too high. A spider did crawl out of nowhere onto the pillow which I had to kill and it smeared all over the pillow. It's just a collection of cabins/run down hotel. We stayed in building 7. The hotel across the street didn't have that great of reviews either so since we were going to the ice castles and crater we decided to stay at the resort. We were pleasantly surprised by the rooms at the Homestead! Came back to Utah for a wedding and decided to stay local in Midway. We couldn't check in until after 4 which was disappointing but once we got our room in "the barn" we were pleased with the size and cleanliness. The bathroom facilities need a major update but overall well worth the price. We ate at the onsite restaurant one night out of necessity. No vegan options and very little vegetarian choices. Wine was marginal and mixed drinks were watered down. We'd suggest making reservations elsewhere. Overall, we'd stay here again when visiting friends. read more

Homestead resort is a little gem in the Utah mountains. We came to scuba dive the crater, amazing! 98 degree water right on the property. They also have ice caves that will open in January. Summer time you can golf right on the premises. We can't wait to come back in the summer. read more

This is a beautiful resort with newly and nicely remodeled rooms. Unfortunately, it's currently under construction, so the campus isn't so pretty. There seems to be great potential here and I'm sure it'll be great once it's done. I got an upgrade to my booking and stayed at a 3-bedroom condo style house. I was amazed how nice the rooms are. From furniture to appliances, everything seems so perfect! With that, I give it an extra star for the review. Perhaps because this place is too new, I encountered a few issues that maybe the property didn't even know about: - A piece of the shutter blind was broken. - The dryer did not work. Yes! There's a washer and dryer here! Too bad the dryer didn't work, so we ended up having to line-dry all the clothes. After I reported this to the front desk staff, nobody ever came to fix it during our entire stay. When I mentioned it to the staff the second time, staff said the maintenance guy has a language barrier and probably didn't understand their request. I thought that was extremely unprofessional given how nice this resort is. WARNING: watch your statement carefully. I was charged for an onsite spending that was supposed to be credited based on the package I purchased. Staff is not sure why the system didn't take that off of my account and promised to manually refund the charges, but that never happened. The credit was never applied, so I had to file a dispute with the credit card company. Too bad my stay had to end this way. I really hoped that the hotel started strong and finish strong. Overall, this is a really nice resort and I really wish there wasn't so much construction going on and awful system issues happening. read more

First time staying at this place and will definitely be my last. Family members seem to have some great memories of this place back in the day, but recreating memories is not what you will find at this dumpy hotel. The hot tub has not been running for at least two days. It's January! People want to soak in hot water! The management has been playing stupid and making false promises about the current situation of their facilities. Seriously! Save yourself a headache and stay across the street at the Zermatt resort--which is a real resort. read more

We had several issues with our stay and never received a response from management when we contacted them politely both through email and in their requested feedback (digitally due to covid-19). The room was disturbingly dirty and they are not taking covid-19 precautions seriously. There is not room service like they claim. The "social distancing" package is a scam. I have been wanting to come visit this resort for years and finally was able to make it happen. I have been very happy with my stay. The staff is very kind and I love how the rooms feel like you have your own little cottage in the woods. The views of the city are gorgeous! I was able to go soak in the natural hot springs crater too and that was really fun! My nephews enjoyed the pool! There are plenty of fun restaurants close by and near the Main Street of this charming town. I will definitely be back for a visit. Midway is close to Park City and much more cost effective! Come stay at Homestead. It's a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle read more
